I read previous reviews complaining that the food here was just reheated leftovers. However, during my visit, it seemed like the food was freshly cooked. They even gave me extra pita bread and garlic butter for free. One concern I have is that I only saw the owner, with no staff around. I wonder how they will manage if a large crowd arrives at the same time--you might end up waiting longer. read more

A really cozy restaurant with a nice staff and owners. You wouldn't expect great food and service altogether in one place, but they've got it here. Everyone is courteous and you'll enjoy anything you order here. Got to try out Alsham with a group, and I gotta say, it all looked good and was tasty. I ordered the Falafel Wrap, which was just delicious, and it came with a flavorful sauce and the pickled sides. I was satisfied after having those bites! And...you gotta try their cardemom tea, it will really make your meal even more enjoyable. So, a great place for all your Mediterranean cravings! Will have to come back to try their kababs. This was my first time ordering from this place, and I have to say it was disappointing. The falafel were half cooked (see pic) and chewy, the Lamb Mandi was mediocre at best, and to top it off, they gave me half a piece of pita bread . I have never experienced that. The service was unwelcoming, and they confused me with a door dash driver . I had to tell them that I ordered directly on their website. I've been to Al Sham more than a few times as I moved to Corona only a few years ago and was looking for a Mediterranean restaurant. This place happens to be very close to my home. First off, the ambiance of the place is great. The owner has really decorated the place well and it feels very fancy and clean inside. It really immerses you in the culture. The owner Yasser is very welcoming. Even if the restaurant is full, him and his staff always do their best to move faster and get your food and drinks out to you quickly. Finally, the food is amazing. It reminds me of home cooking and is always fresh and tastes like cuisine you get only traveling overseas. We often get catering whenever we have small parties at our home and he does such a great job in preparing everything to perfection at a price that beats many other catering services. We wanted to try something new and landed on this place for take-out. I actually did it old-school and ordered takeout via the phone (that's something grown-ups used to use to talk to teach other before texting was invented), and they were totally receptive and kind. We never actually ate inside the restaurant, but we did go there to pick up the food and it looked very spacious and decorated. It seemed like a quiet space, which is nice. The food was great! I'm no expert, but I really enjoyed the cucumber yogurt, lamb, and grape leaves! We just had a ladies luncheon and had about 10 varieties of our Syrian cuisine. These ladies ARE 1st generation Syrian, so there is no shortage of honest critics and highly sophisticated palates. So i have been here a few times and here are my thoughts. Now I have always ordered online and picked up wrap sandwiches so take that for what it's worth. Food- the flavor is fine. Not amazing but passable. The portion sizes are quite small. Comparatively you can get the wrap from D'Vine that has easily twice the filling, maybe more, and the cost is almost the same. Service- going in previously the people have been fine. Since just picking up it's pretty straightforward. Today I placed my order and when I went in 15 minutes later I was told it would be another 20 minutes . Even with them saying they had just gotten the order that seems a little excessive especially since the restaurant was empty, literally one table occupied. So I asked if I could cancel since I didn't have time to wait that long and he told me to call Grubhub and walked away. So for me, because of the small portions, ambivalence of the staff and very slow preparation times I wouldn't recommend. Delicious Mediterranean food and friendly service. My husband got the chicken shawarma wrap and I got the beef wrap. We both agreed the beef one tasted better. The food took 30 minutes to come out but we were warned ahead of time that it would take time. For appetizer, we shared the fried kibbeh and it came out with 3 pieces. The crunch outside was good but overall it tasted a little dry though so I wish it came with some type of sauce. I would definitely come back if I was in the area again. I would expect much better for something that cost $12 and took 30 min to make it to our table in an empty restaurant. Quality Mediterranean food that is equally as delicious! The restaurant is in the same plaza as Dollar Tree and Ralph's and we've been really excited for it to open for quite some time now. It's in a good location with plenty of parking in front. My husband put in a phone order for lunch to-go today. We got: a beef shawarma plate, a chicken shawarma plate, fattoush salad, and knafe. Originally we wanted lamb biryani and baklava but they did not have these items in house. The owner reassured us that they'll be up and running 100% in another week or so. For now it looks like it's a soft opening. I've had mediocre Mediterranean food in the past so I can say that this is quality and very authentic food that tastes like care has been put in cooking/curating each dish. I'm excited to try the Arabian & Syrian dishes in the future because those are flavors I'm very new to! Welp.....I was super excited to see a Mediterranean restaurant here in Corona, so we went to check it out and what a disappointment!!!! I know they are newly opened, but the service was horrible and the attitude of the staff was like they could have cared less for our business. There were only four other tables occupied when we got there and one waitress. We waited 30 mins to get our appetizer and meals. We were never given napkins or utensils. Our family had take out tonight at Al Sham and OMG ! I specially had the Beef Kabob meal and I must say everything on the plate was outstanding! Out of this world fresh , full of flavor and the food was light which was great. We've been to all the fancy Mediterranean restaurants in OC/LA and not one could come close to the freshness and flavors of Al Sham! The food was so delicious I had to call them after I was done just to say thank you! Each bite put a smile on my face. You absolutely get what you paid for here. Could use more insides and flavor The falafel was so moist on the inside with perfect fried outsides. I was in a bind for dinner and I as thinking of ordering out from OC and driving back to corona but I was too tired. I took a chance on this place and so glad I did. My friend ordered the lamb plate and I ordered the beef shwarma plate. And madlouka for dessert- it was a flour-like pasty warm dough covered in a cream topped with crushed pistachio. It was ookkay. When the waitress brought the to-go boxes, we ordered the dessert. Apparently she forgot about it and brought the bill so we reminded her of the dessert and then she started to have an attitude because of something she forgot which then took another 10 minutes. It was my first time coming here. I was craving authentic Mediterranean food, and I was pretty sure there was nothing like that locally near my where I live in Eastvale. I looked it up and this popped up and it was the closest thing to me so I decided to give it a try. So glad I did and it was so worth it. My Wife and I are foodies and prefer to eat at family-owned restaurants. When we moved to Corona 20 years ago, good food was not something you could find. But over the years several family-owned joints have opened giving us good options. We were happy to see a new Mediterranean restaurant open up near us and had high hope. We finally stopped in for a quick lunch and were not expecting much based on the reviews we read. We ordered the Falafel salad and Grape leaves and were blown away. The falafels were moist and delicious, the dressing so full of flavor, then you get hit with the pickled turnup and OMG. Then the grape leaves came out. I don't know about you, but I order grape for my wife. I find them dull and dry. These were not. They were fantastic, moist and yummy. We came back for dinner and brought a bottle of wine. They have no liquor license so you can bring your own drinks. We split the half chicken and it was cooked perfect and enough for two. They brought us a lovely Arabic tea and Baklava for dessert.
