Wow!! Jeff, the manager, is so knowledgeable, skilled, patient, kind and professional! My mom (age 85) and I just had her 2001 ford Taurus alternator's and battery tested for free. He juggled multiple customers, and was so thorough and calm while applying the tests and then calmly speaking and explaining what had to happen next, to my Mom's car. He was able to quote prices for repair and even referred us to Zach, at Brakes Plus, to fix the car (which we did). Unbelievable!! Jeff was even coaching another employee, while managing everything that was going on and needing to be done, with such class and ease. I see somebody had a bad experience with Edgar at this business, from a review above. Funny thing is my mom had a terrible experience at Christian brothers, before we came to Auto Zone, and the mechanic there was named Edgar!! I bet it was the same fool. Was getting gas and battery died. Had to be jumped. Went down the street to Autozone. Got there at 8:30. The guy had an attitude when he checked my battery. It said replace. Went in to pay. He said I had to put it in myself because it was almost closing. It was 8:30! They didn't close until 9. He didn't care. Will never use Autozone again. I'm a nurse that just got off of a 12 hour shift. Can't imagine telling someone too bad my shift is almost over and I can't help you! read more

I had two interactions. One excellent. The other was a total loser. The store in Arvada, on ward roach, totally screwed things up. Told me I got the incorrect battery and insisted, I needed to take the battery to another store and exchange for the one they didn't have. I arrive at the Wheat Ridge store on Kipling. After a little confusion we realize Arvada sent me to the store with the battery they said I needed. Which, i ordered the correct one in the 1st place. So had pulled the same one, that Arvada sent with me as they requested in a phone call. I actually needed the original battery that I bought, that Arvada said wouldn't even start my jeep. Went to this location for a diagnostic when my check engine light came on. I wish I had asked the name of the guy who helped me so I could give him a shout out. He was great. Gave me plenty of info on what was wrong (catalytic converter), never made me feel dumb for not knowing much about cars, and never pressured me to buy anything. I walked in dreading this interaction but it was so much easier than I expected. Definitely recommend. read more

I needed a battery and some other items and this location was closest to me. One of the nice things about AutoZone is that they will install the battery for you. I saved about $40 compared to what the local dealership wanted. The fellow who installed the battery, Cesar, I think, did a good job and was thorough - he cleaned the battery terminals and made sure it was just right. Person said they couldn't remove battery "because of the electrical wires", then went on to quote $194 for battery, but "could install the battery for an additional $18" We left, went across the street to O'Reilly's and the gave us the same battery for $154, and installed it for free. read more

You didn't know this but I had just come from O'Reilly where I had nearly left in tears with the same issue but received degrading and totally unhelpful customer service. I came in to get a new air filter and the Autozone Rep- Beckett D. was SO helpful. When he noticed that my current air filter wasn't that dirty - he didn't try to push a new sale- but instead educated me on what to look for, etc. He also offered to check my cabin filter that I just paid for at Grease Monkey to make sure they did Replace it. That was my concern. He unscrewed the cover and it was brand new. He was just very helpful, professional and not pushy. I really appreciate that being a female and have been taken for a loop multiple times from mechanics. You guys need to promote him pronto! read more

Went to this store looking for chains for my SUV, they keep them behind the counter so needed to ask the staff what they had in stock since you can't check yourself. They only had one type of cables not chains for the snow for my particular SUV so not a good selection. Worst is the staff. The guy I was asking about chains made it seem like I was inconveniencing him trying to see what was in stock. Since they only had the cables and with the unfriendliness of the staff I walked over to O'Reilly in the same lot and got chains from them. You'd think with competition right next door and there current reviews online they'd act differently, but no, just rude like the other reviews. read more

I've been to a lot of Auto Zones and they are always so helpful. Went there today with a question about screws for my license plate and the employee helped me out and even screwed the license plate in with a special tool he had. Employees at Auto Zone are very friendly and polite, too. I have been to other auto parts stores and they literally won't leave the register to help you, even if no one is in there. I have had nothing but amazing service here in the past. Until recently. I went in because I had a broken piece in the interior part of my vehicle. I went in to see if they possibly had a part or the whole assembly available in store or to order in. The minute I walked in the gentleman at the counter didn't seem to want to listen to my inquiry. I only got halfway through my question before he answered with "I don't know I'm not a mechanic." Yeah, I know that. I came to auto zone I'm well aware you are not a mechanic. I came to ask you to use your computer and provide some customer service. Not push some mechanics card on me so I can get charged an arm and a leg for something I can fix myself with a part or new assembly for much cheaper. I went right next door to O'Reilly and was helped promptly by staff. I will be taking my business elsewhere from now on. A little advice, just because I am a woman or young or whatever assumption you made to think I was helpless doesn't mean I wanted you to fix it for me, like you assumed I did.
