Horrible customer service! Alex is a piece of work too. He won't accept the fact that he (or someone from his team) damaged the window console to my car. He blamed it on everyone else, but him. Even though all of the evidence points to him or his crew. After speaking to him face-to-face, he was rude and dismissive. You would think that after bringing your car to this place for years, he would find a way to treat a loyal customer with respect, but no. If you're looking for a good mechanic with integrity, you won't find it here. If the option was there to give zero stars, I would. I guess one star will do! UPDATE: Alex, the owner, reached out to apologize for how rude he was when I spoke to him in person at the shop. He mentioned that he was willing to look at the window console at no cost. This was after he spoke to a member of his crew who had rolled down the window and helped work on my car. I appreciated the apology, but unfortunately, it was too late, and I've decided to cut ties with the company. This issue involved an oil leak from the oil pan, which started after an oil change at another company that was not willing to fix the problem they had created. Based on a friend's recommendation, I took my car to ALtimate Auto Repair. They scheduled me for the very next day. From the manager to the technicians, everyone was extremely friendly and professional. They quickly diagnosed the problem and fixed it in about an hour, all at a very reasonable price. There is no longer any oil leak, and the car is running well. In addition, a noise I had been hearing from underneath the car is now gone--they likely addressed that as well (possibly by tightening a loose component such as the muffler). On Thursday (9/11/24) I took my car for a burning engine oil issue and paid $1532 for the work. Before I leave the lot with my car, the owner advised me that there is a small leakage they 'happen to find out' that needs to be handled asap. I advised them that I did not have that problem ever and am not sure why there is one after they worked on the car. He said thay hebhas to order oarts so I took the car for the weekend and in a distance of 20 miles between his shop and my house , iI had to put more than one gallon of coolant in the car. On Saturday, a person called and says that he has an estimate for the new repair! So, I brought the car to them on Monday (9/15) and was told the cost is over $1800. I questioned the exuberant estimate and that I find it suspicious why such a leak started after they worked on the car!!! The owner (Alex) got irritated with me and said to take my car to a dealership and that he does not want to work on it since I am calling him a lier. I left the car there and called back and spoke with Cyndi who handleds the billing. She understood where I was coming from and hoped that we would work it out. When I stopped by to take the car the bill was $1947 & I had to pay with a credit card only ( two days prior to, I paid the $1532 with a check and with no issues). I tried my best to find a common ground between us. But to no avail!!! The level of unprofessionalism was something that needs to be pointed out to public. What made me more determined to wrote this report is the fact that I was personally listening to two other people on the phone arguing about the cost they were being asked to pay. Alex has very reasonable oil change prices compared to what's out there. I used to go to Midas for my repairs and now I go here because Altimate is small business not a franchise that personally cares for its customers. I brought my realtor here after her car broke down and they were able to solve what was needed, a battery and alternator. Her regular auto shop didn't detect her battery problem and told her she had leaks but Alex and his team got to heart of the problem and found no leaks to be fixed. What a difference! They will always give you a thorough check whether an oil change or undiagnosed problem. Altimate does a good job when it comes to work and customer service. DO NOT GO TO THIS SHOP!!! The main mechanic is Alex. He will replace a car part but break 2 parts or another. THEY WILL MAKE YOU KEEP COMING BACK!!! They will drain your money from your bank. That happened to me so I know. 'did my valve cover gasket on my car. Still leaks oil. I have mentioned the issue to the main mechanic (Alex). He said, "well, that is probably another problem. Car breaks all the time especially when they are old." I said, "of course they will break especially if you don't care to the customers. Or, if you don't know how to put back the parts you removed from a vehicle." And then, the next thing I know..I have my "Check Engine Light" ON all the time. I even found 'cracker chips' on my intake manifold. Yes! You read it right... food on my intake manifold. I also found loose bolts and screws that I ended up taking care myself. I usually give 'benefit of the doubt' so I gave it another try. I brought my SUV days or weeks after to repair my AC/Heater. I ended up paying whopping $700 or so for a simple repair. Plus, they broke some parts on the hood. They had to remove things out of my SUV but they don't know how to put them back together. LOUSY JOB, JUST LOUSY! they will make you wait a long time but they seem to RUSH their tasks or job. DO NOT GO to this shop and save your hard-earned money and save yourself some trouble. Mine and my families favorite place to go to for auto work. My aunt got some work done here on her car a few years ago and reccommended them to the rest of us and we have since been loyal customers. Pricing is always very fair with honest service. I've never felt like the owner/operator was trying to take me for a ride. Simple jobs remain simple not used as oppertunities to "upsell" you on more expensive repairs or maintence unless its honestly deserved. They're always quick and timely too. It turns out that they weren't rotating my tires during scheduled maintenance. Even after telling them I noticed bad vibration, they didn't diagnose the tire wear, saying nothing was wrong. It took a tire shop in Orlando (on vacation) to explain the scalloped rapid wear on my tires was due to lack of rotation coupled with bad alignment that caused my tires to wear in half the time. Expensive lesson. These seem to be good people, but sometimes penny wise is pound foolish, so I'll try another shop. read more

Returned the other day because I heard a noise/squick on the right side of my vehicle. They explained the issues at hand, gave me a ballpark estimate and started immediately. What I like very much is they look at everything and give you a heads up on what may be needed according to the vehicles annual checkpoints. This gives me time to prepare financially. I recommend him to one my friend and they safe him a lot of money. instead around 1000 for repair whole transmission it was only sensor problem and cost with part and labor around 160$. Serge .L Let me begin that if there was a possibility of giving this business minus 5 stars, I would. On 7-12-18(Thur.) I brought my car into Altimate Auto.Cynde, said it will be 14 hours of work, cost $2,385.00 and they will start on it Monday. On the following Monday 7-23-18 I stopped in to find out what's causing the delay and Alex Alegoz the owner put me on the phone with the machine shop to which he out-sourced my motor head. The gentleman from the machine shop, assured me that the head will be by Altimate Auto within an hour. Meanwhile, my car is gutted, parked outside with the window taped up with tape and plastic. When I asked Alex about it, his reply was "We had to leave it down, because we disconnected a lot of things". On 7-26-18 Thursday, I pick up my car after being told it was extensively test driven. Paid my bill of $2,423.30. No sooner than I drove a mile, the ENGINE LIGHT came on. The shop is 2.5 miles from me so I brought it home and scanned it and a VVTI selenoid code P1349 came up. When I got back from work, I noticed an oil puddle under my car(never, ever leaked a drop before). I called Cynde, to notify her of the problem and she informed me that Alex went on vacation and they only have one mech. on duty, because the other one quit and suggested I drive it back. I told her that I'm not driving a car that I just paid almost $2500 to fix, with an engine light on and informed her that I'm canceling the payment. She had it towed and said that Jon,will take a look at it but will not be able to do anything without Alex's authority and he's out of the country... 8-06-18 Monday: Alex is back from vacation. I called him and understandably, I'm frustrated but not vulgar or abusive and want to know how and when my car will be done. He didn't like my tone of voice and threatened to hang up, "because you're being an a%&^le" and wanted cash, for me to get my car. ...I told him that I will remove the block on the CC --which I did-- and was able to convince him to use the credit card again. Soo... I go to pick up my car... My car was filthy with antifreeze(that allegedly sprayed all over when someone forgot to put in a plug on the engine block) and has tape residue all over, from the taped up window -- along with the cut horn and oil residue STILL in the reservoir--. Alex said to come back and he would flush it out(should have been done in the first place) and "relocate" the horn. I pay another $400.00+ dollars for another unnecessary repair -- stemming from a wrong diagnosis --. Alex called me and left me a message and informed me that he's taking me to court, because he claimed that I stopped payment on the card again. (Why would the second bill go through and not the first one? lol) When I called him back and try to explain to him that Cynde, was supposed to re-charge the original charge, because the original one was closed out and that I didn't know that, because I never stopped a payment on a card before and his response was "I'll see you in court and don't call me". I texted him and told him that "he would look pretty silly explaining to the judge why he would rather go to court, vs. accept a payment". He called me back within 3 minutes, offering to detail my car( HA! As if![I like my paint the way it is. Thanks!]) So next day, I go to RE-pay $2,423.00+ and ask him about the 15% coupon they have online and he tells me that it's locked in the computer, as an old charge(He as owner can change it) and offers $159.00 worth of oil changes(As if! lol) for me and my friends and family. My friends and family witnessed the entire ordeal and I doubt they want to go through the same. So, the moral of the story is: In the preservation of your property, peace of mind and your finances, I would strongly recommend looking at other shops. This review is to offset all the other ones - validity of I doubt -- Thank God, there's copy and paste function, for the Better Business Bureau and Attorney General. ...And where ever else I can warn people about this- "Altimate experience" and their business practices. I came in for a shaking at 60mph and she got this wrong not once, twice but three times. She wasted an entire afternoon of mine and it wasn't until the second visit I lost my temper and Alex got involved did things get fixed. read more

Overall experience not good. They do decent work on the cars but leave errors that you find later on that require you to return. Often do not follow the given window of time and are most always understaffed with terrible attitude towards customers. Will not be returning. read more

My dad has been going to Altimate for a few years now and keeps going back so I knew that was a good sign. I just brought his car in for an oil change and front brake job and had a great experience. Cynde at the front desk was patient and listened to our needs. We also inquired about repairing/replacing the instrument panel cluster. Most shops I have used in the past are very reluctant to perform this type of repair. Alex explained to us the labor involved and gave us a quote. He understood why we wanted the repair and was not reluctant to tackle the job. Car was ready sooner than expected and is now winter ready for my aging parents. My car suddenly died on Rand Road on a cold day. I luckily was able to coast into a parking lot. Frustrated, I noticed that Altimate Trans & Auto was across the street! I walked across the street to see if anyone could help me; I am a young woman who does not know much about cars and have never experienced an issue like this before. When I walked in and asked if someone could come walk back across the street with me and take a quick look at my car I was told that someone could look but it needed to be at their garage! I would need to have the car towed across the street. A week before Christmas too no less! I am appalled at this repair shop's lack of customer service. I will NEVER refer anyone to Altimate and I happen to work just 2 blocks south of the shop. I am now having my car towed to someplace else because frankly, Altimate does not deserve my business!
