I was fully expecting at least a new muffler and possibly a full exhaust system needed. After an inspection, their technician phoned me and gave me the good news... the muffler is fine. Bought a older Mercedes a few years ago and only drive it a few hundred miles a year as a fun second car. Last year the battery light went on and I replaced both batteries (front and rear). They took my concerns to heart, explained everything that was wrong with my car and did an amazing repair job. The time line to finish the work was a bit longer than I had hoped (I was a walk-in without an appointment) but it was a tough job and they took their time making sure everything worked and was perfect. I have been to Jeff's about three times now within this past year and I have got to say - this is the most honest and trust-worthy shop I have ever been too. My brother is a mechanic and prior he did all of the mantenence on my car but I moved out of state and since I lucky found Jeff's. Each time I have had to come in it has always been an under $100 charge or no charge for services done. I have a 2009 Corolla - a high milage synthetic oil change elsewhere is usually $68-120; Jeff's did it for under $40. My tires needed air as well which he rotated them and filled them for FREE! This place truly goes above and beyond for their clients, they even offer a drop off option if your car is going to take a bit longer to service so you do not need to stay there all day. I brought my car to Jeff's Automotive Services on 10/23/19 because I wanted the work done by a previous mechanic to be double checked. The owner of the previous shop told a few lies here and there, leaving a sour taste in my mouth. More importantly, they did not fix the problem I originally went in for (chirping and grinding sounds). I called Jeff to see if they could find the source of my problem and fix it. Jeff was very patient when listening to my laundry list of issues; he is definitely one of the more attentive owners I have come across. Long story short, they fixed the problem that two previous mechanics could not. Dan, the mechanic, was able to identify the sound (rusted brake dust shield) and clearly explained the issue and solution. We took my car for a test drive and he answered all my questions. I appreciate that he did not rush anything, making me feel like he took my problem and concern seriously. The chirping and grinding sounds were driving me crazy for months and Jeff's Automotive Services fixed it in an instant. I will definitely be bringing my car here for future services. Jeff's Automotive has been serving my two vehicles for just over a year. Previously I was going to a chain repair shop, but I was leery of their business practices. Every time I brought my car in for a simple oil change they had a long list of other "recommend" services always totaling several hundred dollars each time. At Jeff's neither of my cars have had this problem. When I bring the cars in for an oil change my cars do not suddenly need a bunch of other repairs also. I know I can trust Jeff's now, so if he does notice something that needs to be done I have no problem having him perform the work. It's very refreshing to have a auto shop that you can trust. We have been longtime customers of Jeff's and love how honest and friendly they are. They will go above and beyond to help out customers. Example 1. It was the middle of January,my husband was out of town for work, and I am at home with a 3 month old infant. Battery dies on my husbands car. Call Jeff's and explain. Instead of having to shuffle infant, carseats between someone else's car and have it be a major pain in the butt, Jeff arrives at my house in 10 minutes with a jumper cable and fixes my husbands car without having to bring my infant in the cold. Example 2. Exclamation point light pops on in dashboard (I call it the "holy crap something's wrong light") on my way home from work. I pull into their lot 5 minutes before closing time. Jeff comes out and offers to check it over for me. Pulls it in and checks all my tires, engine, oil level, etc. It turned out to be a tire pressure light (phew) but filled all my tires up for me. When I asked to pay, he said no charge. AMAZING! If all car mechanics ran their business and were as friendly as Jeff and Claude (the other owner) then we would never have to see any Dateline hidden camera shows about Shady people. Last week I was given the rare opportunity to drive my wife's Acura to work. This only happens when that "light thingy" comes on indicating that it's time for an oil change. For years I've taken my cars to Duke of Oil on N.W. Hwy in Mt Prospect with no issues. However, last week I pulled in and they were having computer difficulties and could not perform any services. So I pulled up the ever trusty Yelp and found that Jeff's Automotive was on my way home and had several good reviews. I was very impressed. Kind of old school shop that I like with the added bonus of courteous staff. They took my car in right away and while I waited I listened in on how they dealt with other customers. There was an older lady that needed extensive suspension work on her car. The man at the counter answered all her questions at length and honestly ( I have some automotive repair experience ). I could tell they cared that this woman knew exactly what they were doing and why. That is a rare find in the auto repair industry. They knocked out my oil change quickly and.. AND... they somehow cleared a very stubborn blown code from a TPI (tire pressure indicator) that I could never clear for more than an hour. Thank you!! I've been taking my car to the service department at Toyota in Fox Lake and most recently Schaumburg Toyota. They are always trying to upsell me on services I don't believe I need. I recently moved to Arlington Heights and my neighbor recommended I take my car to Jeff for a second opinion and I'm so glad I did. Schaumburg Toyota wanted to replace my Serp Belt ($171), Front Brake, Clean and Adjust the Rear Brakes, Tune Up, EFI/Throttle Body Service, Trans Service, and Battery for about $1000 total. Jeff inspected my car and said the Serp Belt did need to be replaced (and he did it for under $100), the Front Brakes looked great, and I should get the Rear Brakes replaced soon since they are wearing thin. After researching car shops in/near Arlington Heights, we decided to take my wife's Nissan Rogue for its 30K check up here and Yelp did not let us down. When I called for the quote, they estimated it would be approximately $300 for everything, which is a lot cheaper than it would have been at the dealership ($600+). They only had availability on during a time which both my wife and was at work so we arranged for us to drop the car off the night before and they were happy to accommodate. Went to pick up the car the next day and the bill came out to under $200! Jeff didn't recommend anything unnecessary and we got exactly what we asked for at a great price!
