I've brought a vehicle in multiple times and each time the service has been good and the repairs have worked great. I've never had them go over an estimate but I have had them come in well under on one occasion. My employer is within walking distance so I can drop off my car and get it at the end of the day which is nice. Anyone traveling to the city can do the same as the train station is super close.

I was able to get my car towed to Casey's the following Monday (we used D&R Towing at the recommendation of the shop, and that was a great experience in and of itself, I left them a good review too. Thanks, Rich!) and my car was assessed the next day despite being told Wednesday-late Thursday was the soonest. I was in a pinch working an hour from home and needing the car back before noon today, but the crew got it in and sorted and had it back to me just shy of two days later! The price was as-quoted, no surprise fees or "other" issues that arose between my phone calls and arriving to pick the car up. I was also advised of some preventive maintenance to be done on my next oil change, but was told I can wait until then for that. Big thank you to Mike for being so communicative and transparent with the repairs and timeline, and Fausto (I think that's his name?) for providing an update on the repairs and giving me some good news yesterday (and not being totally annoyed when I frantically called for an update, haha.) We recently had to send our manual car in because of some starting issues. They listened to some other problems my husband was noticing and let him know what else they could look at while they were down there. If it was something they could do easily, it would save them time from having to take the part out again and fix it later, then they would be able to offer a discount on the bundled repairs. If the issue was something that required them to be in a different part of the car, then they recommended we wait because it would cost more for the labor of looking/disassembling/reassembling. Totally reasonable! While they were fixing the car, they noticed something with the clutch that was making it wear faster. They provided a recommendation that would improve the engagement plus allow it to last longer. Anyway, the details are just to prove that they're great to work with. They communicate really well and make sure you're comfortable and educated with your options.

I have known Tom for over 20 years, and he has always worked on my vehicles, my mom's car, and many of my friends' cars. He is extremely reliable and, most importantly, honest--which is rare these days. I've had two experiences with Tom that truly show his integrity and expertise. The first was in 2009 when I purchased a 2010 Nissan Xterra with fairly high mileage. Tom suggested I check for any recalls on the vehicle. After doing so, I discovered multiple recalls stating that the oil could eventually mix with the antifreeze, causing engine failure. Because of Tom's advice, I was able to get the vehicle into a Nissan dealership before the warranty expired, and they replaced both the engine and transmission at no cost. The second experience involved my 87-year-old mother. She took her car to Lou Bachrodt VW in Rockford and was told she needed a new turbo at a cost of $9,000--nearly the value of the car itself. Tom took a look, did his own diagnosis, and determined the issue was simply two hoses. The repair cost around $1,000 and was completed within two to three days, saving my mother a huge and unnecessary expense. I would recommend Tom for any and all automotive repairs. You don't find many shops that can competently work on foreign and domestic vehicles, including diesel engines. HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM! read more

When I called they said well next time they will call. Typical oil change is $110-$130 which is what I expected. After some research on Yelp I found that Tire Boss had overwhelmingly positive reviews for the services that I was looking for and my experience was consistent with others. I bought a car fairly recently and had developed a very slow leak in my front tire. I brought it into Tire Boss where my technician Eric greeted me in a friendly manner and proceeded to inspect my car in a short amount of time. Once he was done inspecting the tire, he explained to me that he found a puncture and quoted me a price to repair it which was lower than I expected to fix it. He did not push for any other unnecessary repairs and I even asked if my wipers needed replacements, of which he provided a detailed explanation of why the replacement could wait with an explanation of when I should get them replaced (when streaks appear). Once I agreed to the repair and price, the team quickly performed the service and I was ready to go -- in and out in less than 1 hour including a short wait. After it was done, Eric proceeded to check me out with an explanation of the services performed including filling up all the tires to the manufacturer's suggested pressure and pulled up the vehicle directly to the door. Overall I was quite happy with how quickly service was performed, the reasonable prices, no hidden fees, not being upsold on any items, and having the same technician work with me from the beginning to end of the process.

Next time, take the time to listen to your customers, especially the ones that are repeat customers.

There is no longer any oil leak, and the car is running well. In addition, a noise I had been hearing from underneath the car is now gone--they likely addressed that as well (possibly by tightening a loose component such as the muffler).
