Amazing hidden gem in Riverside, California. No one could guess that a college campus meal can compete with great service, fine dining food like the local famous hotel and outdoor dining! Lots of big tables for your big group of friends. It wasn't noisy either. Some of the best food and desserts Riverside has to offer, especially for a Sunday brunch. I'm sorry I over looked ADC for so long. They abolished all my cravings in one visit for a very appreciated price. Definitely go with a appetite! The flan tastes like aunties, the tri tip was this side of prime rib. They have a wonderful selection of food even an omelet bar! I just wasn't hungry enough to celebrate all the goodness I saw. I guess I just need to go back often because it's not just a great price, it really is amazing food. Check out the hot fresh cinnamon pecan rolls, too. Most everything is made in their kitchen. Shout out to Cori the Manger that addressed my special situation with a smile and attention. Looking for new brunch options? How about having an AYCE Sunday Brunch at the Cal Baptist University Commons? Yes, it is open to the public, and the array of food is mind boggling, and just as good as any other good breakfast spot. It is located in the Commons which is located in the center of campus. It is easily found from the front entrance on Magnolia Street. Huge numbers of parking spaces are nearby. There is a large, lush, grassy, tree-lined area open for school events in the center, spaces for young children to run and play, and bathroom facilities aplenty. It has been a fairly well-kept secret until some TikTok'ers, You Tubers, and Instagrammers recently let the secret out that they are open to the public. Curious, we came around noon a few Sundays ago and the line out the door was overwhelming. Mind you, the line was made up of mostly non-students. For any late-rising students (those that live on campus), they got priority entrance because their meals are pre-paid, and many have nowhere else to eat, unless they have a car. It's only fair. So we left that day without eating and saved it for another Sunday when we could arrive earlier. They open at 9:30 am. Close around 2. Almost classy for a campus cafeteria, it is the main and largest of the several cafes and restaurant locations on campus. It has a sleek, modern look, is well maintained, and offers a broad selection of foods that is appealing and upscale. I had my eye on the carving center (tri tip available on this day) and custom omelet stations (there are two, one at each end), but there are so many more entrees and side dishes to choose from, including beverages and desserts. Grab a tray, take your time, and browse the many stations first before you start loading up. There is plenty for all. But if you walk away hungry, it's no ones fault but yours. This is also a place where students can get a respectable, part-time job on campus while "edjumacating" themselves. Better yet, it must be comforting as a parent knowing there is well prepared, healthy food available for feeding your son with a hollow leg. It is not the despicable, monotonous dorm food I had the misfortune to experience many decades ago (obviously not here). While very popular with students and public alike, there is a tremendous amount of seating for all, indoors and out. There are highchair and booster seats for the little ones. Very family friendly. Our bill for 2 seniors, 3 adults, and 2 children came to around $130, quite affordable when Grandma and Grandpa are treating. And everyone left satisfied. read more

We started eating here because our nephew went to school here and the CBU Alumni Dining Commons has become our family's favorite place to eat for our family get togethers. There is plenty of seating, the variety and quality of food and drinks are fantastic. The service is cordial and with a smile. We park In the visitors parking and there are always plenty of places to park. It has a collegiate casual vibe and we even sometimes play a board game until They close. Great times. Bonus they are a buffet and cost less than any of the other typical buffets around and drinks are included. They even have ICEE drinks. Yum. read more

We discovered The alumni dining when my nephew was a student . We've been hooked ever since! The price is right. I'm glad we can eat here regardless of whether we are attending the school. I love that they have different stations of food being served. We came around lunch time on a Sat. It was spring break which I believe could explain the lack of food. The grill which usually would be hamburgers and hot dogs was closed. The deli was closed as well. They did have beef brisket, collard greens, potato steak fries. At another station they had tortilla and chichen rice bowl. Finally they had vegetarian lasagna. The food was sufficient. It isn't fine dining. I love the vegetarian choices. The dining hall was clean workers were constantly wiping down the tables. Everything else is self serve. read more

Visiting the nephew we decided to meet at the school campus café tería to experience the Sunday brunch. $22 per person for guests. Walking onto the quaint campus was peaceful and serine. The courtyard area was lush and green with a few scattered tables along the pathways. The main hall had plenty of tables inside which were mostly full. The patio area had a more enjoyable spacious feel. The dining hall had a wide variety of food choices. The drink fountains had silk milk, regular milk or chocolate, iced teas, sparkling waters, traditional sodas and sports drinks. The omelette station was one of my favorites. Fresh toppings veggies and meats with well seasoned eggs. The staff here worked diligently to get everyone's order out at a steady pace. Staff kept the areas restocked and clean. There was a self serve pizza station, hand rolled California rolls, veggie roll and nigiri tuna, tri tip and pork loin carving station with all the fixings. Off the grill station had a complete home style breakfast fried chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans and biscuits and gravy. California fresh station had bacon, scrambled eggs, sausage and roasted potatoes. There is also a salad bar in the center island along with hot soups. Outside the entree area was the dessert station. Cheesecake, chocolate cake, carrot cake, cookies, cinnamon rolls, pecan rolls, puddings, muffins, fruits and more I can't recall. Plus hot teas and a decent cup of coffee. Waffle station had the irons ready to go. You fill your cup with the desired amount and ribbon it onto the iron. It takes 2 minutes to cook. To the left side of the irons are the butter and syrup and on the right side are fruit toppings strawberry, cinnamon apple, blueberry, sprinkles, caramel, chocolate and whipped cream. College isn't like it used to be. These students have it made. Good to know our kids and loved ones are being well fed while advancing in their education. read more

This is the primary dining hall located on the CBU campus. It's open for visitors, to the public. The Sunday brunch has been excellent. I wish I discovered this place earlier, which is why I'm writing this Yelp review to help more locals eat here! Pretty impressive drink and dessert selection in particular. Solid salad bar. Its great for college students! We all love the Caf and as a senior ive been many times now. But it wasnt until recently that I stopped going and that is because of the crowds. People with no affiliation to CBU have started flooding the Caf on Sundays and it has made it difficult now for the students that go here to even get a tabel. Im so glad you all are enjoying it, but iys our cafeteria. So please, if you don't go to CBU or you don't have any family here, find another place for brunch.​ read more

You cannot beat their price of a buffet for just under $10. Went for Sunday lunch and it only cost me $8.50! I can't think of any food places or fast food restaurants where you can get more bang for your buck. Mixed feelings about having Mother's Day here after hearing for so long the hype about it. We got there around 11:30ish. We were a party of 7 (3 adults/4 kids under 8yo), and we were seated right away as we were all present. It cost $170 for our family to eat here, crazy in retrospect. The food is a set menu buffet with less food options than a regular buffet but definitely more desert options. Between all the members of my group we tried the sushi rolls (shrimp tempura, CA roll, salmon nigiri), cold poached salmon, omelette, waffles, mashed potatoes, fried chicken, prime rib, salad bar, cereal and various deserts. The food was all pleasant but nothing with a wow factor. It was crowded in the self serve/self bus dining room and going back and forth between the food and tables was like playing Frogger. Since most places require reservations for Easter Brunch, we were happily surprised by CBU. No reservations. Lots of parking (across from Alumni Dining Commons, ADC). Restrooms are across from ADC. Mostly students. Several families. Chocolate fountain, poached salmon, cocktail shrimp, prime rib, ham, oysters, garlic fried green beans, California rolls, vegetable rolls, , spumoni pie, waffle bar, omelette station, sticky buns, beverage station, & more! $31.95/person holiday Sunday brunch. Since this was our first time, campus signs to ADC could have been helpful. As a result, we walked around just trying to find the ADC. Since it is a dining hall, you bus your table. Handwashing station. Nice dining hall. Open to the public. We ate -10am. Lots of space, but it was filling up afterwards. Avoid the lines and come in early. read more

The food is okay on some days, but this greatly depends on which day. Sometimes I could swear that chicken is raw af as when I opened it it looked almost pink inside and tasted mildly off. The workers are always fast working and pleasant, but considering how highly ranked the cafeteria is I would expect this place to have a higher quality of food.
