We were on the way to desert Hot Springs and the traffic was thick so we decided to stop in Pomona for dinner and found this place on Yelp with its glowing 4.6 stars so we decided to stop. It is a 5-10 min venture off the freeway and they have a nice dining area. (Other places in this area are outdoor dining only) We got the chicken & beef combination plate ($16.25) which comes served over rice with teriyaki sauce and either a salad or fries and it was really good. We also got a fish & a shrimp burrito ($2.99 each) and those both were really good as well. The combination plate is a lot of food and that with the 2 tacos was the right amount of food for 2 people. There was plenty of white rice beneath the chicken. The dish was filling & very good. Make sure you get some extra teriyaki & hot sauce if going take out. Was visiting from out of town and decided to pick up food for the family. The service was great and we were able to talk to who I presume was the owner, and he was friendly and patient with us. The food does take time to get but only because everything is made fresh to order. I much rather wait and get freshly prepared food. The food it self was delicious. Very generous portions. I'm giving this place 4/5 stars because I feel like the prices are a bit high and the customer service left something to be desired. As soon as I walked in, I noted the empty restaurant. Only one table was taken and it was who I think was the owner and another worker. They said hi to us but as if we were interrupting their break or something. We were the only patrons in the restaurant and the man who took our order couldn't be bothered to bring our food to our table and gave us a hot sauce bottle that was essentially empty. I was able to get parking on the side street but there was also parking available in front. I wouldn't come here when its dark but inside the restaurant it feels safe. For drinks they offer Mexican coca cola, pink lemonade, pineapple, horchata, Jamaica, and of course soda! Their menu consists of Teriyaki bowls, hamburger, combo plates, burritos, tacos, quesadillas, salads, and super fries. I was eyeing the super fries but decided to stick with the teriyaki bowls. The bowls come in three sizes, small, medium, and large. The proteins on the menu are chicken, beef, shrimp, and fish. I love that they do slice the chicken into smaller size. The taste was good and the rice was cooked well. They do offer combo meal if you wanted fries with your order or two different proteins. I enjoyed the chicken over the beef. I saw that this place opened up recently. It's quite easy to drive past it since it still has the former restaurant name on the building, but they do have a banner with their name. I chose to get the Chicken and beef plate ($13.50) with rice and a side of fries, along with a baja fish taco ($2.99). This newer restaurant has a Mexican and Japanese menu. So you can get Mexican food or teriyaki items. It has a counter service style restaurant. Staff was nice and friendly. Seating and the interior were plentiful and clean. We ordered a chicken teriyaki bowl with avocado. The teriyaki was very good over rice. The staff charged for avocado which is fine but they forgot to add it to the bowl as the picture shows. The fish taco was fresh and tasty but it's a bit smaller than other taco shops. Also, the small taco was put in a styrofoam container. The taco shifted about and sauce leaked out of the container into the bag. Perhaps wrapping the taco in a paper wrapper like a burrito is a better option. Overall a good casual spot for a quick bite. Teriyaki was good and filling. Walked in and there was one person there. It's VERY new. They threw a banner over the old sign. I passed it and had to turn around at first. You can tell the inside has been renovated and painted. They change on BOTH debit and credit card usage. $.75/transaction. This place is Asian-Mexican infused. Saw photos of teriyaki fries, but my stomach wasn't hungry enough for that so I got a plate instead. I asked for a cup of water, but their soda dispenser isn't working so they said I'd have to buy a bottle of water. The food was good. The rice was a tad bit dry to me, but I just added more teriyaki sauce and Siracha! Lol I've been looking for a closer teriyaki spot, since the other one like this is in Covina. Really enjoyed it.
