Kind of a hidden gem in the Downtown Pomona area. It's located down some stairs at the side of another restaurant so it has kind of a speakeasy vibe to it. They have fresh mariscos at reasonable prices and generous portions. Their service is very friendly and fast. There's also a full service bar that has a pretty solid selection. I came here and got the tostada mixto (fish, shrimp, clams) and a fish taco. What came to my table was a pretty large pile of ceviche served with some extra tostada shells. This spot is great! The wife and I came to try the ceviche. The fish ceviche was great, packed with flavor may have been my favorite. Mango habanero shrimp ceviche, also outstanding, I generally prefer fish but this was really delicious with just a tiny bit of heat. Tuna ceviche made with yellowtail, also very good. Really you can not go wrong with any of these. Will be back to try the green shrimp which I believe is more of a traditional aguachilie. Also had oysters and the fish taco, both were very good. I generally don't get fried fish tacos but was told that it was good. And yes lightly battered with great flavor with the cabbage and sauce. Bomb little speakeasy. So far we've tried, shrimp mango habanero, shrimp green ceviche, fish ceviche, tuna ceviche, Doritos locos and taco gobernador, and booooy, so amazing! Welcome to the basement! With great food and pool tables of course! As soon as we walked down we were greeted by the bartender, she was very pleasant and asked if we needed a drink, surely, we obliged. She stated that if we wanted to order food we would have to talk to a waitress on the dining side ( not sure if they're separate businesses) and it was kind of a nuisance ordering from 2 different people each time, but all good. The menu was very small, we ordered 1 of each item available. As we waited we played pool. The tables are pretty run down, it's pretty dark in there and cold like an ice box. Where do I start when it comes to this establishment. They are located in the beautiful downtown Pomona inside a good building. They have a full bar, music, pool tables and good aesthetics. To my knowledge the first ceviche spot in downtown Pomona and if not the first definitely the first to do it right! The owner is always present and greets everyone. 1 Star - Extremely Disappointing & Inconsistent I really wanted to like this place. I love mariscos, and the first two times I ordered through DoorDash, everything was great and consistent. The mariscos came in a cup that was almost full--enough for one tostada--and for the price, it felt fair. That consistency is what made me keep coming back. Unfortunately, things quickly went downhill. I started noticing inconsistencies with their hours--I'd ask if they were open during their posted business hours and was told they weren't. Eventually, when they were open, we placed a pickup order. When we went to pick it up, we were shocked to see the cups were only about 25% full for $12. This was a drastic difference from previous orders. When we calmly brought this to their attention, the person who I assume was the owner or manager handled it very poorly. Instead of listening or explaining, he immediately got defensive and said, "You're mistaken. I don't give food for free." The way it was said was embarrassing, dismissive, and completely unprofessional--especially in front of others. No one was asking for free food. We were asking for consistency and value, especially as returning customers. The food had potential, but customer service matters, and the way this situation was handled ruined the experience.
