I didn't actually come to drink and dance, I came for a memorial show for a beloved local musician. It wasn't a somber occasion but a tribute to a good guy who enjoyed ear shredding live music. Needless to say I thought the Flyway was an interesting choice of venue for this occasion. Located near the rooftop in the same building as the Fox Theater, you'll see the entrance off Garey. Parking is abundant and can be a bit pricey if you want to park in the closest lot between the Fox and the bank. I paid $25 because I was feeling a bit lazy. After walking up 4-5 flights of stairs (there is an elevator available) you'll find yourself in a nicely decorated room with wooden floors, couches along the wall and colorful lighting. Got that old tyme speakeasy vibe (but no piano music.) The bar is near where you enter. There were a few hiccups in the sound, probably because this place doesn't seem to have live music that often. Or it was on the musicians themselves (there were 11 bands that played, mostly way younger than I). But overall the sound was pretty good. I always have earplugs in but if I forgot them at home I wouldn't have lost much sleep. I didn't drink anything alcoholic but the bartenders were keeping the water cups going. That was very appreciated because with the amount of people moving it got warm on occasion. They also have a smaller balcony with a nice view of Garey and other parts of downtown Pomona. Would I come back for the nightclub? No. I'm too old for that lol. But another live show? Sure why not. You can never be too old for live music. read more

Don't have bar seating if you don't want people sitting at the bar after ordering a drink. This place sucks.

I paid for two brat rave tickets recently, and the DJ played 2 half-songs of off brat. We put up signs pleading that the DJ would give us Charli xcz songs but we were disappointed. After talking to staff on the way out, they refused to give us a refund and we were on our way out. All in all, I highly do not recommend visiting this club as it is not up to standard nor do they consider their clients. I truly wished to give the staff the benefit of the doubt but truthfully the place and price is just not worth it. Stay away from this club if you can. read more

I have been both an attendee and a performer at this venue since 2019. I held off from writing any reviews regarding this venue, but after repeat instances, I think it's time to share my experience. First of all, the security of this venue lacks the basic professionalism and people skills to properly interact with attendees. They act like they're on a power trip and treat attendees like they're criminals. They kick out any attendee without any reasonable reason. In the past month, one of the attendees of a DJ event my crew hosted was grabbed and dragged by one of the female security guards just for simply sitting on the stairs. No warning and no explanation whatsoever beforehand. And just yesterday, our performing DJ for the night was kicked out from the venue by a Caucasian, bald, bearded security guard simply because our DJ was in the restroom for longer than 5 minutes. In addition, our event attendees reported similar experiences that same night. The security fosters a hostile experience to our attendees. Management needs to properly train their security guards. Their brash unprofessionalism and forceful behavior are completely unacceptable. I have a few suggestions for management to take note on. 1. Train your staff in basic customer service skills. 2. Train your staff basic conflict resolution strategies 3. Either post a sign in front of the venue with a code of conduct OR have your security give a warning/explanation on why you are kicking out attendees before taking physical/verbal action Flyway security, do better. read more

Where do I even begin... very long story short, a friend of mine was accused of sexual assault by an another attendee just for moving around her on the dance floor (another friend and I were in the restroom when this happened) This attendee told security who saw her as victim the rest of the night and was threatening to kick us out for the smallest things afterward I.E my friend pressing the elevator button. My friend who was accused of assault had left at this point and the girl who accused her deemed my group guilty by association. I was sober the entire night because the vibes were so negative and the drinks were disgustingly strong. This girl sees me walk her way ALONE to grab my jacket on my way out,thrusts her shoulder into mine and accuses me of hitting her then proceeds to swing at me. I didnt swing back since secuirty was acting as if we were part of the drama as it was. I tell the bald security guard what happened and he just stared at me,silent. The only HELPFUL guard was the younger guy. I told the bald guard to throw her out and THEN we will leave so they do just that. On our way out,my friend tried to use the restroom but the female security guard said she couldnt because she was associated with me who was not only victim but not apart of the original drama. I yelled at this guard to let my friend to use the restroom since she wasnt involved in any way. The young guard happened to be coming up the stairs as I was descending and I politely asked him to let my friend use the restroom since the female guard wouldn't and he made it happen ALTHOUGH the second she came out of the stall the female guard said she needed to leave before she even had the chance to wash her hands. Club is alright, they are very very strict on alcohol. I'm underage and they also kicked me out for holding my cousins cup for her cause she needed to fixed her hair. It gets very hot when inside, Some of the djs there are okay and some of them are good. It depends what days you go, it gets very very packed on friday night if it's not going to rain. Also, get there before 10 or 1030 to be "free" they promote that you will but really you won't. I got there at 10 and I still had to pay. You don't have to pay if you're on the list. this place was intimate and just a wonderful surprise, there were live performances on stage and in the AIR so cool i like the setting, there was an outdoor patio to chill in the night or you walk in to the performances, i went when there was mcsupernatural amazing! also when there were air performance, lovely ladies doing their things in a spaceship thing the drinks were strong and good, a place to for sure go in pomona, i think its the only spot that has this feel, good music, good drinks, great talent/performances. pomona, what a come up for this to be here! for sure i will be going again! read more

Me and my girlfriend came on February 22 for the Latin trap night. So we were expecting spanish music and latin trap music but there was only like 5-8 mins of Spanish music being played. It was advertised as latin trap music both on the website, Instagram, Facebook etc and it was mainly hip hop in both dance floors. We tried asking for a refund because it was falsely advertised. Well what can I say.... never again (Unless it's free entrance). My friend and I decided to go out on a Saturday night for a much needed girls night out. Her and I love Club Rock It. When we had the free time and money, we'd go to Club Rock It on Thursday nights at El Carnaval. We loved it! It was our place to be at when downtown Riverside was dull. Upon arrival at 10:20pm we paid 10 dollars. We were excited to go to the new location at the Flyway, for her and I have never been. Upon going up the first set of stairs we noticed the first outside "rooftop" patio playing hip hop. It was pretty dead. One more set of stairs up and it took you to the main 80s dance/ performance area and their outside patio. The main room is extremely small. It's very hard to dance and CONSTANTLY had HUGE security guards going up and down the dance floor. (We found that extremely annoying, for they kept bumping into us) .... The outside patio would of been nice touch if you couldn't hear the hip hop music on the second outdoor patio .... also, the SECURITY guards are hypocrites.... my friend and I were standing next to the building while she smoked a cigarette and the SECURITY guard told us we couldn't smoke by the building and had to smoke on the other side where the glass wall is located .... minutes later there was a guy calmly smoking his cigarette next to the building and the security didn't say a word to him ..... We stuck around for a bit in the 80s section and listened to the cover band of the night, which was very good. After that, it got boring and went down to the hip hop section. It was full of private booths and little tables that left no space to dance. It was somewhat crowded and people kept ordering elaborate bottle services where THE HUGE SECURITY GUARDS kept bumping into us just to walk the waitress through to the tables.... If that wasn't bad enough, the crowd here was very obnoxious..... and had a high school vibe...there was this one weird guy pretending to be a "rapper", lip synching all these words as he stood up on one of the couches... girls were all twerking next to him and in front of him .... it was .... weird .... After that we just left, it wasn't very fun. Limited space to dance was our first complain And the second worst thing at this club is the HUGE SECURITY GUARDS bumping into us all night! read more

I spent most of my time in the hip hop area. The scenery was nice. It was outside with a glass balcony. I didn't really enjoy my time here because the DJ could never seem to master transitioning from one song to another. So I'd be dancing then just standing there for a good minute. I ordered drinks from the upstairs bar since the bar in the hip hop section had a small supply of drinks. The bartender attended to me right away and I ordered my usual coke and Bacardi with a splash of grenadine and when I received my cup all red, I already knew it wasn't a splash. I should've requested a new cup but I was hoping I was wrong. My drink didn't seem to have any Coke so it wasn't very tasty. I would rather not come back here due to my experience. Went here Saturday for DJ Nu-Mark show. It was dope. Good people, good drinks, fun times. If you're looking for a chill place to kick it I suggest here. Sound here is great. It's not overwhelming to the point that you can't can't to the person next to you, but loud enough to enjoy. They range from all different types of music. Hip hop, house, to live bands. So whatever you're in the mood for. The space is dope too. It's on the 4th floor so you have a nice view of down below. They have an outside balcony where you can still hear the music but can also have a easy conversation and its spacious. The inside deco is nice. They have couches and tables to relax at or if you want bottle service. The walls have some old school pics thats fun to take a picture in front of. This is the newest place in Pomona and it has already established itself as the best place to go for drinks, dancing, and great times with friends. The old place was sketchy and sometimes you had fun and other times you wish you just stayed home...not here, they have put some real time and effort into it and it shows from the moment you walk in. The music and sound system here are incredible. It's loud and powerful so that you feel the music but not ever to the point that you can't communicate with someone close to you or cover your ears cause it starts to hurt and get annoying. They vary from house to hip hop and even have live bands performing regularly. My first night here I listened to a cool band that played some super soulful jazzy rock that I really enjoyed. A few nights later it was non stop party music that went from house to hip hop and the crowd never really let up. The people here are also very friendly and fun to be around. I can actually have conversations with people that I just met and keep everything enjoyable. The bar is clean and orderly and you don't have to fight to be served. The entire venue is really clean and it shows because they do a great job of picking up your empty glasses regularly. My favorite part about this place has to be the outside lounge. It's the first thing you see when you walk in and it's very relaxing and inviting. You can have a great conversation with friends, catch some fresh air, and still hear the music clearly even from outside. It really goes to show how awesome the sound system is because you feel as though you're with your friends having a party instead of at a loud club in the middle of downtown. It can't be a perfect review though and really the only thing I have a problem with is the fact that you still need to go down a flight of stairs to go to the bathroom. The only thing that makes that tolerable is that you get to see everyone else go up and down with you and it can lead for some good jokes and conversation. The bathroom guy is also pretty cool but it shouldn't take a trek through the stairs to have to relieve oneself of excess liquid. So the point is this...this is the newest place in Pomona and it's also the best overall spot to be at. It's sound is amazing, the music selection is the best and most varied, and the people here are super friendly and fun. Bring a friend or bring a group and you will not be disappointed at all. Just don't try to hang on the bars, those are for the cool acrobat chicks only and no one wants to see you flop around lol read more

So I just went last week for the first time because of my cousin birthday he paid for a table ($400) which literally only was two small circo bottles a cranberry juice chaser and an oj juice! Definitely not worth $400 when we were walking to our table there was people already there we had to ask them to please leave the table since we paid for that "section". Of course these girls have alcohol in them already mad dogging ya the whole time there. There were people coming to our table putting drinks down we had no space everyone is almost on top of everyone. The dance floor is so small there's no air ventilation, the bathrooms were disgusting there are only 3 stalls. 1 had no door at all, the other one had a door but it didn't lock, so only 1 working restroom for who knows how many girls going in and out of the club. This is an 18+ venue so of course there's under age drinking happening. People are overserved there was a drunk as guy who could bearly walk his girlfriend was holding him up after he finished puking his lungs out. They did nothing about it, these security guards pick and choose what behavior is acceptable. They talk to people as if they don't matter like if all we are is drunk people acting rowdy. If you can't handle people asking you questions then maybe you shouldn't get into a job that requires you to interact with people. Winston the security guard was one of the worst ones saying you don't even have to talk to them or explain anything like wtf you're a supervisor do your f*cking job! I came here with another friend of mine on a Friday night and it was actually a good experience, lots and lots of people given that it is an 18 & over club so there's ages of all kinds mostly from 18 to mid 30's ages inside, cool looking atmosphere; there's an outdoor patio also. My only complaint would be that it gets really hot inside, maybe because of the place having full capacity, but overall a good experience, we'll be coming back. read more

The only good things I can say about this place is the music is chill, the upstairs is even more chill, and I like it when it is free on Saturday before 10. Everything else is garbage. The dance floor on the hip hop floor gets extremely crowded, so there is no room to dance at all. The people and atmosphere are extremely toxic. F*ck boys and H*es run amok in this joint. No one is nice to talk to, or it is just too loud. There was this one really beautiful girl that I wanted to talk to, but I look to my left and I am introduced to her mom. They have 80s music on the inside, an indie patio, and a hip hop rooftop so there's a really good variety of music being played, which I love. So I've been here one time two years ago and didn't go to their restrooms until yesterday. And oh my gosh, let me tell you the amount of neglect put in the women's room. The handicap stall door lock was broken, I didn't know because there was a little door stop holding it shut and I didn't think anything of it. Until some girl walked in on me it was soooo embarrassing. The second was simply broken, another had a no door, and the only private one didn't have any toilet paper dispenser and the roll was on the floor ?! (luckily I bring wipes with me). It was a nightmare! Please fix your bathrooms, all my girlfriends and girls were complaining by the end of the night and yet your venue had a restroom attendant in the men's room from what our boyfriend's said. This place was alright. I have definitely been to better parties. The thing that did annoy me though was a terrible service. The workers would threaten me with kicking me out everytime i went to the restroom and washed my hands and to be honest it made me uncomfortable because I was just trying to wash my hands. This shouldn't even be called a club. It's filthy and they go way above capacity. If you want to feel like a sardine in a can I suggest you come here. The music was ridiculous, same songs playing every 15min. This is a sad excuse of a club. We arrived at 10:15 because before 10:30 it's free and after 10:30 it's $10 . We waited and waited and waited it is well past 10:30 they say it'll be $10 well I guess that's ok, it hits 11, now it's $15. And my friend who arrived later at like 11:30 had to pay $20! $20 dollars for one person for a shit club that's over capacity playing Thotiana every 10 min.
