Austin and his team showed up on time and completed the work efficiently but also were as careful with our stuff as if it was there own. There was a hiccup midway through move out with the truck not being big enough, but Austin fixed the problem in a more than fair way without any additional costs to me. Oh boy! What a day of disappointment . Sent photos of a storage unit move and junk removal from destination point and was quoted flat rate of $400. When they arrived and opened the door, I could see and hear the unpleasant surprise and the comments about "all of the items" were continous which gave me much anxiety and guilt. Patrick mentioned that they had packing supplies to handle fragile items but that I needed to clear out the china cabinet. There was a discrepancy about not wrapping or stuffing those items as I expected and his comment was that I was only paying a flat rate of $400 so supplies were not included. It was also confirmed that he could remove and setup the items similar to how it was. As a reseller, I had a very large box that was necessary for storing my shipping boxes and packing supplies. Since they were trying to make everything fit into one trip, they destroyed the box and claimed it was coming apart. I was nearby and felt that they should have informed me about it before taking action. Patrick informed me that the job was much more than what was anticipated and the photos were not very clear. I agreed to the adjusted rate of $550. There was a $100 increase for addition junk removal that was added prior to pick up day. In my effort to make the junk removal easier, I had put the items closer to the door and posted FB listing for free pick up items. Prior to their arrival, someone stopped by to take some shelving units so other items needed to be moved outside. When the movers arrived, they informed me that rack unit was not going to fit into the space so we needed to bring the load back to the storage unit. The movers couldn't wait for a few items to be put back inside so I left with them. When we arrived, Patrick informed me that since he lost the junk removal job, my rate needed to be increased to $600. I gave them direction and helped with moving the boxes back to the original location but they said they couldn't move everything back to its location. They left leaving several items outside the unit. When I returned to the junk removal destination, I was shocked to see that they had left the big box with stuffing rolled up inside of it for someone else to handle and/or trying to avoid me knowing they destroyed the box as I did not see them leave the garbage. As they mentioned, they did a good job not damaging any items although I have yet to unpack everything to confirm it. I appreciate that they were able to take away some unwanted/garbage items I understand it was a bigger job than was expected and feel both of us received lessons from the experience to make better decisions. read more

Damaged my son's bed set and stole extremely valuable sports card collectibles. Didn't seek this company out was referred to me. Only Austin and one of his workers showed up and he complained it took too long and wanted more than he quoted after move was completed. Worst experience ever.. for real for real! read more

Hard working team and priced fairly, but we had a lot of damage done to quality furniture. And a decent portion of items didn't make it onto the truck because they ran out of room. It's shocking how quickly it adds up. So instead of negotiating xxxx dollar amount to cover repair costs which we felt would be rough for the company to absorb - so we knew we'd be purchasing a used outdoor dining set, ping pong table, or pool table and agreed that when we found the one we wanted they would pick it up and deliver to the new house and we Would then consider us even. The movers were an amazing group of men. However, the rate was very unclear. I was told $200 pp but not $200 pp per hour. So it all made sense that breakdown and setup are included because it's ultimately a way to extend the move time. It took about 8-9 hours to move 1 bedroom and half a garage. I was left with paint chipped and damaged walls and a broken couch. They were not prepared to disassemble a sizable couch which extended the move time even more. I hope they're more clear with pricing going forward and wish them well as the men were really nice. But to consumers that can't afford the surprises I got, hire a big well prepared company if you're going to spending $2300 for a 1.5/2 bdrm move. Update: from 3 stars to 1 since the owner sent me nasty texts smh Update to response: DURING the move, you were on personal calls not helping your team. You didn't say anything about pricing, there was no reason to. You KNOW it was the 2nd floor, stop trying to make yourself look good. If it was the 3rd floor, your team would've failed miserably. In which my dad had to step in and help you all. You stated you could break the couch down but it would take a lot of time. As a moving company, it's your job to figure out these things not the person paying. Not upset one bit about pricing. Simply warning people in the event you're unclear in the future. read more

The movers scratched the hardwood floors to my new home. I requested pads to be place on the floor to protect the floor and to not track dirt in the house. Austin did not place pads on the floor but on the porch stating that they would be fine with bringing it in. I also had three legs to my bed and two of my couches broken during this move. He sent someone to sand the scratches but the job was incomplete. Austin stated he would fix the issue but my calls and text messages are not being answered. He charged me $800 more than the estimate price. I tried contacting YELP to get assistance but the company stated he was not yelp guaranteed mover on 11/5. My only option is to take him to court and sue for damages and lawyer fees. I would definitely not recommend this company because he did not fix the issues his team created. read more

Was recommended these movers by a coworker. Initially, made a strong first impression by being professional and good communicators. This did not last, unfortunately. I got a call from the owner the day before the move confirming the wrong time (I had scheduled one time, changed it, and confirmed it twice on my end in the weeks leading up to the move). The owner even said "wow I'm glad I called you". Yikes. The movers were late, but were friendly. I had warned the owner that my apartment was notoriously difficult for movers since it was a third floor walk-up, and was told "stairs aren't an issue for my guys". The two people they sent were not prepared for the amount of work my move required. After 2.5 hours with incremental progress made, I began helping. Soon after, two of my friends began helping as well. I reached out to the owner at one point and asked if it was possible to send more people. He said he couldn't send anybody. Yay. Once there was a proper number of people helping (3 more than the owner thought necessary, including me, the client), the move went much quicker. Ultimately, this 1-bedroom to 1-bedroom took 7 hours and outside help. When I tried to pay the owner using the same method I used for my deposit, I was told that it wasn't working since the owner got locked out of their email. Unprofessional. Overall, the guys they sent were great and hardworking, and the owner's (initial) customer service was great. They just need a tighter operation. I am still very grateful for them finishing the move despite the physical toll I know it took. read more

If I could give it zero starsw I most certainly would. Nothing was wrong with the actual movers, but the owner's unprofessional attitude ruined the entire experience. At first he was nice and I was excited to refer him to my customers (I'm a realtor and mostly work with buyers) because I tend to trust small business owners more than big corporations. Unfortunately, he ended up discriminating and accusing us of "trying to get discounts" when we were simply re running some numbers because I asked for an invoice but never got one. He yelled at my mother and said these exact words "I know you're type of people and you guys are just trying to get discounts". We were shocked by his demeanor especially since we were polite and communicating how appreciative we were of the movers. We even fed them dinner and complimented their efficiency. I'm truly shocked with Austin's behavior because I chose to work with him after reading his positive reviews. Makes me think about why he's treating certain customers differently. It's sad to see that a business with such potential is going to burn just because of Austin's behavior. Hope these nice guys find someone else to work for soon! read more

DO NOT USE!! My finance and I moved out a 2 bedroom unit and were charged double. The movers took 10 HOURS!! And the drive was only a 15 minute trip! Lets list the few things that happened..... Movers were late to start, they came with a small truck, therefore they took an extra trip. They had no plastic furniture coverings, only thing they had was wrap, which they ran out of. They took a break and had to go to uhual to get more wrap, which then took time out the move. My finance and I had to help them finish the move because it would've took them 12 HOURS! Oh, and they damaged my drywall in my new home. I was charged $1,225 for a 2 bedroom move that should've taken 6 hours. Do not use these guys!! AB Movers were an excellent hire. They arrived to the job on-time and communicated in advance of arriving which was much appreciated. Upon arrival they scoped out the job and then got to work. We had 3 guys handle our move from Crystal Lake to Deer Park with a stop at a storage unit along the way. It was a tight fit but they're Tetris skills are next level and they got everything to fit. They took care of all of our items and spent the time wrapping/packing anything that looked like it could be suspect to damage on the drive.
