Always Moving was recommended by our realtor. Tony came to do a walk thru and that night gave us a quote for his manpower and equipment. Moving day they showed up on time ready to go. Laid out protection on the wood floors and carpets, brought in moving blankets and shrink wrap, took apart what needed to be taken apart, carefully moved everything to the trucks and to the new house, placed things where they needed to go and built back what was taken apart. The guys were all polite and made sure we were happy with what they had done. I cannot say enough how pleased we were and glad we used Always Moving. Two other pay by the hour companies quoted us with less manpower and only one truck, had we used them the price would have been sky high and taken much more time. read more

I originally contacted Tony for just wrapping some art for our long distance move from Georgia to Florida - He said "we can do the whole thing" and gave me a quote that was less than others I had received. Every aspect of our move was professional, friendly and even fun. They came and did pre packing a week prior. The day of the move the team of packers and movers were exceptional. DO NOT INSULT YOURSELF TO DO BUSINESS WITH A BUNCH OF NOONES. THEY WILL DRAG YOU TO THEIR LEVEL. Like many people here, I trust the first guy that called me. I have specifically asked about the insurance and the contact person told me your belonging is insured up to 10k. I signed the contract over the phone and paid the initial price. When they came for pick up, they nagged on the price and increased it by $1200. Then at the drop-off, they said there were more than 7 stairs and charged me $150 more for the stairs (they already knew that the delivery was on the second floor and which apartment could be on the second floor and has 7 stairs, do the math). They delivered our stuff at 11 PM and immediately left. They tore up many heavy-duty boxes, broke items, and also chipped almost all wooden items. When we started unpacking, we realized our box of shoes was missing, worth almost $2000 shoes. We called them and informed them about it. We specifically asked them to find our box and we don't want any monetary compensation. After a month, they told us we could not find it for you and based on the contract, we would pay you 60 cents per pound and a box of shoes is going to be $36. I remind them of their agent's interpretation of the insurance involved here but they deny such conversation ever happened. I pressed them and we went and listened to the call. After they realized they told me a lie, they increased their offer to $300 for all the damages including the box of shoes, while $300 barely covers the rest of the damages. I have talked with a lawyer and I am going to take them to court. THEY ARE A FRAUD COMPANY AND I HAVE ENOUGH EVIDENCE TO SHOW THEM WHO THEY REALLY ARE. read more

I first learned of Tony from a friend back in 2005 when I first moved to ATL. His company moved me from my apartment in Sandy Springs to my first home in Chamblee record time- 1,200 sq-ft of stuff in rush hour traffic; 3 hours start to finish. They showed up with 3 guys and a truck and trailer, packed my stuff, loaded it, and were out of there in no time. I have hired them several other times for both office and home moves, and have one friend who, upon my introduction, has hired them to move SEVEN times just around Atlanta! Tony and his team are always professional and courteous and live by the mantra "You never walk out to the truck empty-handed." I have referred him to no less than 20 people over the years and he is my go-to for any moving related needs. I highly recommend his services! read more

Dealing with Always #1 Moving and Storage was a nightmare. I was quoted $2,500 and wound up paying $3,700. There were no boxes, just furniture, which was all taken apart and ready to move. The movers held my furniture hostage in my driveway until I came up with the CASH!! The foot was torn off an oak entertainment center and almost every piece was scratched. It took 3 weeks for someone to call me back about the damage. After going into a lengthy discussion about World War II, he explained that damage is assessed at 60 cents per pound. This piece weighs about 50 pounds -- that's $30. It cost over $1,000! I received 3 other quotes before selecting Always #1. All 3 companies quoted based on cubic footage -- all around the same. We measured the pieces and came up with the same footage. But the movers insisted it was more and refused to unload the truck until I went to the bank. THIS COMPANY IS NOT REPUTIBLE!! What a nightmare!!!! We were quoted one price and charged almost double. They held my furniture hostage until I came up with cash. Many items were damaged, including a solid oak cabinet missing a foot. Nobody returns my calls and I'm just sick over the whole thing. read more

If I could leave 10 stars I would. I use Yelp constantly, but I've never written a review before (shame on me!). But I couldn't let this one go without a review. If you use anyone else to move around Atlanta, you're making a mistake. These guys are the BEST. Do not look any further! Tony (the owner) is very responsive, a great communicator, honest, hard working (gets his hands dirty, doesn't just supervise), on-time, reliable, and has more than fair pricing. He had a crew of 7 going for 12 hours to do our move. He personally spent several hours getting a huge/heavy treadmill out of my old place, and into my new place, through very tight stairs/hallways/doors. When he put it back together it was even better than when I had put it together in the first place, and with no instruction manual at that! His team were all hard working, careful, thorough, kind, intelligent, and respectful. I have yet to find a single scratch on anything, and my walls gave a big sigh of relief; no corners through the wall with these guys. After all of that, which I'm sure was more than he thought it would take to get the job done, he held to his original quote that was fixed price inclusive of materials. Anyone else would have understandably used the opportunity to jack up the price after all of that, but he stood true to his word. I made sure to take care of him and his team with a very very very well earned gratuity. They worked their butts off, and I'm sooooo glad a friend recommended them to me. All of their business is repeat and referral. If I ever need to move anything again, I'll for sure use him again without question. Please give him your business, you'll be glad you did! read more

Bought the Livingsocial for this move ($99 for 2 hours with 2 movers). They were very responsive, even though they've been bombarded by Livingsocial purchasers, and were texting me as late as midnight over the weekend to make sure that they could schedule me for Monday. Though they got to me later than initially promised, they came with 4 movers instead of 2 and got everything moved with no scratches or damage. They did it quickly and without complaints, and were courteous and all around nice people. They called right after to follow up to make sure everything got done right. I would absolutely use their service again. read more

Do not use this company. They appeared helpful and professional at first. Then prior to our move, they put off giving us our final quote until 2 days before our move (after we made numerous unanswered calls) which was about $2000 more than quoted. Movers charged $300 more to walk down our sidewalk, then when the arrived at the new home (at 7pm instead of 1pm) they said we'd have to pay another $150 to put our boxes in the back of our basement. They piled everything at the bottom of our stairs which my husband moved himself as they unloaded. Unacceptable. We then found a gas soaked box of books left in our garage that they failed to tell us about, and they switched our new ladder with a broken one that was in their truck. They also left a big ball of packing material in our driveway along with trash from their recent fast food meal. We are still trying to get our ladder returned/compensated and books replaced, but their "claims" guy, who basically brushed off our claims, said he doesn't actually work for the moving company, he works for the trucking company. There is no accountability or professionalism period. It's shameful. read more

Hire them and you will not be disappointed. If you have furniture that is big or expensive, you know your move is going to cost more than your IKEA furniture friends. BUT this company was priced extremely fairly, fast and efficient, friendly and make you a priority. They provide wardrobe boxes per your request, wrap everything, providing padding, dissemble/assemble items, and will do what they can to stay on ur time frame/budget. They kept working without any breaks and I felt they worked fast and smart. Great company read more

This is my first time writing a Yelp review, but I had to show my appreciation for this company and the excellent, professional work it does. I called them in somewhat of an emergency to help me load a large rental truck after I ran into some problems with another moving company. The owner was quite friendly and personable over the phone, and gave me a flat rate after I briefly described the contents and size of my home. Not only did he honor the estimate, his crew arrived within the window of time he said he'd be able to come (I called only 48 hours before the day of the move) and loaded the truck quickly and with care. The employees seemed to take pride in their work, and asked appropriate questions about how I wanted certain things to be loaded. I am sorry to be leaving the Atlanta area, because I definitely would have been using this company for all of my moves in the future.
