A little hole in the wall that you might walk past, but the food here is incredible. The Drunken Noodles are delicious with good portion sizes - enough to share for two. They also do a lemon Thai iced tea - I've never seen it at a restaurant before, and it was such a good spin on the Thai iced tea. Would go back just to order this again. Standard Thai, good but nothing special. Incredibly overpriced for portion size. Five pieces of fried calamari for $10. (Not the big rings either -- $2 per bite. Really?) Four tiny lettuce pieces with $15 order of larb, one piece being no bigger than my pinkie. Noodles were around 20 bucks, shockingly small portion. This was not at lunch, dinner menu. I thought some other reviews mentioned that there are vegan options here? Maybe I just got the grouchy employee? She was so friendly when I was walking by and I thought -sure I'm hungry, let me go have lunch. When she brought me a menu and I asked what could be made vegan the huge smile faded and her face suddenly turns sour. She went back to the kitchen came back with this weird sauce, and said they have to do something different for me because all the sauces are already mixed with fish sauce. I looked at the ingredients of the sauce in the jar that she brought me and the first thing was MSG. Our favorite Thai restaurant for sure. There are so many great choices on their menu. We have eaten here many times, and occasionally get take-away. Whenever we have out-of-town visitors, we bring them here. Our Swedish friends really loved it. If you have room for dessert, try the mango sticky rice. AM Noodle is a solid Thai addition to the area. Don't overlook this spot because of it's location. They've got some amazing Thai food and the staff are just super friendly here that you want to support their business. Located in the strip mall next to Winco I feel like this place gets overlooked. Some restaurants haven't faired well over here but I promise you this is a new spot to add to your list! They have outdoor and indoor seating, plenty of space. I've been here twice now, for lunch and dinner, and both times it was relatively quiet here. Perfect for a relaxing and chill meal. The staff here are extremely friendly and nice. Such good people working here. Always a smile on their face and extra graciousness when you dine with them. The food is classic Thai staples. They have a large menu and great lunch specials that can run you under $15 which is great. Here are some of the dishes I like from here: 1. Panang curry 2. Yellow curry 3. Egg fried rice 4. Thai tea So many options to try that I need to keep coming back but so far everything I've tasted has been really yummy and homemade vibes. A few weeks ago, my wife found an Instagram posting about this restaurant. Since she knows that I am a Thai food lover and I try to eat Thai food in any city I visit. If I am visiting different places in the United States or I am traveling in Europe, I always love to try Thai food. This is the second time I come to this place and it is by far one of the best Thai restaurants that I have eaten in my entire life. I was so excited about trying this place. But, I wish I hadn't gone there. I am not feeling well right now and I'm ready to explain why. I'm giving two stars due to the food itself. I want to be fair, so I want to explain, because my guess is MOST people would love this place. But, I'm not most people. First of all, I'm Diabetic Type 2, and recently decided to go Vegan and cut out all kinds of foods that aren't good for me. I was looking for "Healthy" options. I was looking for Veggies, Tofu, and a taste of fresh and healthy. That is where my review matters, because if you're like me, and you're looking for "Healthy" options, this place is NOT it. I am honestly disappointed. Let me explain why. So, I walk in and look at the menu, and it appears that they have a lot of vegetarian options. I'm mostly Vegan, but since I'm not a strict Vegan, I guess I'm more Vegetarian, and I'll own that, because I do eat Mayonnaise... and therefore, because I allow some things like "Fish sauce" or "Mayonnaise" I can't really call myself "Vegan" but I eat mostly vegan, because I am not currently eating meat of any kind, nor dairy, nor eggs. I want tofu, veggies, salad, fruit, nuts, beans, seeds, and some brown rice.. that's what I want. I came in and ordered the Tom Kha soup, with just veggies. I expected it to be like most Tom Kha soups, rich and creamy and savory with some spice. It wasn't. No, it wasn't. It was very sweet. Too sweet. I don't know how much sugar they dumped into that soup, but it was sweeter than Thai tea, and that is really, really sweet. Not healthy, not healthy for me, not for me because I'm Diabetic. I couldn't really finish it. It was a thicky creamy sugary wreck. I ate some and it was just way too sweet. I had to stop, I started to feel like I was eating something very not good for me. I didn't come here to have a soup dessert, but maybe some people do, so try it for yourself. Next, I decided to try the orange tofu. I thought this would be sweet, I expected it to be sweet, slightly sweet, but I wasn't expecting what I got. First of all it is supposed to be tofu, with broccoli and carrots. It's Orange flavored so of course I can't ding them for that being sweet, because I expected it, but let me tell you..... oh dear god. Okay, so for your Tofu loving, sweet loving beings out there. You will love this. You'll love it because the Tofu was fried and covered in a very thick gooey sweet sauce that was just over the top sweet and thick. Nearly like maple syrup, just so sweet, it tasted like candy. Okay. IT TASTED LIKE CANDY. This was supposed to be a Healthy lunch. I mean, that's what I thought. Tofu, Carrots, Broccoli. My heart was in it for "Healthy" but my mind wanted to see what "Orange Tofu" was. Because, well... Orange Chicken is pretty delicious from most all restaurants. So, I can't get mad at them for it being sweet, okay. I can't. This ding is on me. But... it was way too sweet. And, if that's not all.... I was already feeling sick from the soup being too sweet, and now here I am eating this candied Tofu.... I go to bite the broccoli on the plate and it's ice cold. Like cold! Like, it was steamed much earlier, and put into the refrigerator, and then plopped back onto my plate, not even heated up at all. It was really cold. At this point, whatever! At least it wasn't covered in sugar. I happily ate the ice cold broccoli. I didn't care at this point. I was already feeling terrible from the sugar soup and the candy tofu. I was feeling light headed, and dizzy and worrying that I am going to get a massive migraine and more nerve damage than I have ever had in my life due to the overwhelming amount of sugar I just consumed. Of course I didn't have to eat it. And, I'm stupid, because I didn't even like it but I still ate it. I think I ate it because I was nervous about walking away without eating it. I already told the waiter it was my first time there. I already had high hopes. I had my phone out doing photos of the food and happily chatting to my husband that I was excited to try this new Thai place that showed it rated high for Vegan options. It doesn't really even have pure vegan options, because there is fish sauce in everything, so.... there's that disappointment, but I still ate it, but it was disappointing because I was looking to review vegan meals. I was sad because the food was way too sweet for me and therefore not anything I ever should have eaten. I'm sad because it must have had MSG, because my ears are ringing and my head is pounding as does happen when I eat food with too much MSG. Also, the veggies were ice cold. Ugh. What next? Well, they didn't bring me any napkins or silverware for the main meal, all I had was the plate on the table and nothing to eat it with. Then at the end, when I asked for a to-go box for the purple rice, that I didn't eat because it tasted off, I had to use my hand to shovel it into the plastic container. The food is delicious! Never had a better tom yum soup and lemon thai iced tea. We discovered it here. We tried the beef jerky, the spicy beef salad, and the crab rangoons! They seem really nice but they definitely struggle with their English. 2 stars are for friendly and clean also a huge menu selection that must be better than what I ordered? I came in for soup to go and the first person that tried to help me couldn't understand what I was asking so the gentleman that was sitting at a table, went and got the lady to come out and talk to me about my question which was "are the noodles rice/gluten free?" I ordered the Tom Ka soup on the menu. It said it was made with vegetables and my choice of meat which was chicken. I like the way they packaged it with the noodles separate so they don't get mushy but when I went to eat my soup, there were no vegetables in it. It was chicken mushrooms and a brownish coconut broth. I have had Tom Ka soup at so many different places, and it's never looked like that? It usually is a white/yellowish coloring (because of the coconut milk) with a little bit of the red separating which I think is the chili seasoning? I don't know? All I know is that this was gross-when I put the noodles in (and I only put in maybe half) they quickly turned to a starch mush and the broth was almost gone within just a couple minutes. I have never had an experience like this, when ordering soup from any of the Thai or Vietnamese restaurants. I should've taken a picture of it. I'm in love with Thai food but AM NODDLE disappointed me so much. they have under age staff that have no clue of what they're doing! The hospitality in this establishment Is very poor! they have no consideration for the customers and only care about personal gain. This place has some of the best Thai food in Ventura. Conveniently located in the plaza next to Winco's so plenty of parking available. Our favorite spot to order take out from. Some of our favorites are their chicken pad see ew and their yellow curry, accompanied with some gyoza and egg rolls of course. The coconut flavor and sweetness of the curry goes well with a side of white rice and dip those egg rolls in the curry as well for some crunchy pop of flavor. The noodles are cooked so well on the pad see ew and the ratio of veggies, chicken and noodles are perfect in this dish as well. We tried the red curry but it was a bit too strong of bamboo shoot or basil? Not sure. Definitely I prefer the yellow one. read more

Not sure if they were not expecting it. people to come or not, but we sat outside. The waitress and owner were helped and the food really good! Overall a very pleasant experience. The food was good, and the service was excellent! The Rangoons were a little sweeter tasting than I prefer, but fresh hot and crispy. The Thai tea was delicious and the boba was just the right consistency. We stopped at AM noodle in a whim and we are so glad we did! The good choices were excellent and the food was better. We had chicken fried rice, papaya salad with tofu, and pad woonsen with chicken. Unfortunately this restaurant is overrated as the food is not that up to par. When they first opened it was ok, however there is a communication barrier with ordering each and every time I have ordered, the quality has gone down. The ambiance of the interior needs to change. There are three tables that the staff use for their personal business that could be somewhere else instead of inside the dining area.
