Pretty empty when we got to see for lunch so there were plenty of seats. The guy at the counter was super nice. Pizza's are a good size! They equal about two slices. I tried the lasagna pizza, which was pretty tasty and my daughter had the pepperoni pizza. She had half and almost finished so that's a compliment . Pizza is solid, garlic knits are great, pastas are ok, recently ordered a sub and a few other items on a night when I had a violently sick husband, as well as a newborn at home and a 5 year old to handle. Looking for an easy fix. Picked up food, and they forgot half the order. Mistakes happen. Called ahead, went back to get it, definitely got apologies for the mistake, but waited another 20min for it anyway and then received the most aggressively mediocre $15 sandwich possible, still missing part of it. It was a High school cafeteria lunch style sandwich. One slice of cheese, one slice of ham, sad smattering of sorry lettuce etc. Didn't eat it. Ordered a Broccoli Rabe pizza last night to go. When my wife went to pick it up he said "4 more minutes " so she waited. It smelled so good when we got it home as my wife and I were starving. Kind of sad that the place was empty on a rainy night, but plenty of take out orders to be picked up. We ordered a personal meatball for my visiting grandson and "the 9 years old expert" said it was the best he ever ate! My husband and I shared a 1/2 Margarita and 1/2 meat lover pizza. When I arrived, there were a few guys behind the counter, two young girls folding pizza boxes, each at a table, and three girls standing at the host counter. Didn't appear very busy at the time... only one car in the lot and it was occupied and running. All the girls were very nice. When I said I was there to pick up an order, one girl asked my name and went and picked up my bag, which appeared to be the only bag awaiting pickup. As I was driving home, I received a call from the restaurant. Clerk: Hi, this is Nona's, I'm wondering if you can come back? We forgot to put the cannolis in the bag. Me: Starting to laugh and thinking to myself, I'm on the modern equivalent of Candid Camera... I said, you're joking right? Clerk: Starting to laugh a little too said, I'm sorry, no! Me: Can you just credit the amount back to my card? Clerk: I can do that or we can deliver them if you like? Me: I thought you don't deliver on Sundays? Clerk: We don't! So, other than the bizarre questions asked by the original call-taker which unfortunately for length, Yelp will not include those details here,) the missing dessert, the drive to and fro, twice, the food was ok. Nothing to write home about. The manicotti tasted like frozen and defrosted manicotti. Not fresh tasting at all. It wasn't bad though, just not fresh tasting. About the same quality as a commercial brand like frozen Cellantano from the grocery store. The sauce on the manicotti, different story! The sauce was awesome! Might just be the best sauce I've had locally. Remember I asked for extra bread? I'm not sure which of the skimpy six slices was the extra bread. I hope I didn't pay extra for the "extra bread" because there was barely enough bread, with the meals, let alone any extra bread. The meatballs were pretty good. The sauce on the meatballs, not terrible, but waaaaaaaaay too much garlic, especially in comparison to the AWESOME sauce on the manicotti. The cannolis were actually mini cannolis. Each serving contained three of them and other than the rock hard shells, that shattered when you bit into them, they were okay! The cannoli cream filling was tasty, soft and fresh. The salads had some browned lettuce on the bottoms of the containers. They were also okay. This place really surprised me. I was craving pizza and walked in with my parents. My dad loves pepperoni on his pizza while me and my mom do not -- the cashier quickly said he can make two slices out of the large pizza pie pepperoni and the rest can be cheese. I loved how they sprung into action while over hearing our conversation and made my parents (especially my dad) really happy. The service was amazing and the pizza was actually really good! I've visited Nonna's of Wappingers for over 5 years now and the food has only gotten worse. I'm unsure if they have been bought out by new owners but this is NOT the same pizza place. Recently, pizza pies are so small and the prices are over-inflated. And whoever manages their phones cannot understand basic English. It took over 1.5 hours to get two pizzas delivered, and they charge different prices than what their website states. It's sad to see a small business turn sour. Their pizza slices used to be average NY slices, and now the size and quality more resemble Domino's or Pizza Hut. read more

They say first impressions are everything. I will never again be ordering from Nonna's and wanted to fairly explain why. I ordered a simple order; a Ziti pizza and Sausage Parm sandwich thru Doordash. The Doordash driver only brought the pizza (with the receipt clearly stating two items). So I contacted Doordash and then contacted Nonna's to speak to the manager to figure out what happened to my sandwich. I was polite and respectful, but the snooty girl REFUSED to let me speak to the manager!!!!! I told the girl she had just lost a customer. When does a restaurant NOT let you speak to the manager if you have an order issue? To the owner's/manager of Nonna's: your food is decent but not any better than the other 100 places in the area. I simply wanted to find out where the error was in not receiving my sandwich. I even have the picture from the Doordasher CLEARLY showing just a small pizza. It's fine, make too many angry customers and you'll be out of business. I don't like getting ripped off. The picture below was the picture from the Doordash order and CLEARLY there is no sandwich with it. Definitely a difference in their quality of food. They delivered food for us last week and gave us a 35 minute delivery window. An hour and 20 minutes our 2 dinners and appetizer was inedible. The appetizer was a greasy mushy mess. Our dinners were chicken and pasta. The chicken tasted like rubber and the pasta and sauce had so much salt we couldn't eat it. The sauce was also a different color from previous orders I've had. Not sure if these are the original owners or new but I can honestly say my family will never order from them again. Since they sold it to the new people that run it I have run into a bunch of problems since then. The veal was tender and the sauce had such rich flavor. I ordered the penne primavera. The veggies were tender and fresh and the fresh garlic and oil added the perfect touch. This is by far the best pizza I have EVER had in my life. I'm on work travel now from Ca and this place murdered it. I was just riding on my bicycle supporting business during this pandemic . They guys are cool in store. The pizza crust was crispy then chewy in the inside. The pizza had good hang time , meaning if you don't fold it to take a bite you don't stand a chance (true foodies no what I mean). The cheese was perfect as well as the price. I recently received a flyer in my mailbox from Nonna's of Wappingers. Tonight I decided to give them a try. I called to place an order for delivery. The ordering process was not easy, the girl on the phone talked over me and would leave me hanging and wondering if she was still on the line. I was finally able to place an order for the "Nonna Panini", which was listed as having grilled chicken. I requested a breaded chicken cutlet in it's place. No where was it listed as being made on a flour tortilla, I assumed as with most restaurants it would be made on a roll or bread as most paninis are. The menu clearly states: "Served with French fries". My order was delivered in the time promised (only good thing done!). When I opened it, the tortilla had been cut in 4 sections, all of which were falling apart, and on top of what I assume was a feeble attempt at a salad of sorts. Placing the sandwich on top of lettuce greens and tomato caused the sandwich to get very soggy. The chicken cutlet was cut into such tiny cubes that they fell out when the sandwich was picked up. Also, no French fries. I called them to inquire as to why no fries, it took three calls because I kept being disconnected ( I suspect, purposely). I was told paninis do not come with fries. I said the menu clearly states fries are served with hot sandwiches and if not particular sandwiches, it should be clearly stated in the menu which ones do not. She mumbled something I could not comprehend. I told her it was my first order with Nonna's and would be my last. No response or comment about being sorry or making restitution. I would not recommend Nonna's for sandwiches, can't say how their pizza or meals are. They need to address the discrepancy in the menu regarding which hot sandwiches do not include French Fries, that is misleading representation. read more
