My boyfriend was searching up coffee spots ( always goes with 4.5 stars or 5 ) lol and he came across this one on our bike ride around Coronado and ever since then he started driving from national city to Coronado for this coffee lol I'm not a coffee person but I gave in and tried it and I actually have to say it's actually really good ! And deff recommend !

Hands down best coffee in the South Bay! I spend way too much time at the library and Alex is always there to keep me caffeinated with delicious brew and a friendly smile. It's just a really nice place to take a break from the day. Today I had a rose latte with soy milk. Yum!

The photos showcased donuts. They haven't had donuts in quite some time it seems. A bunch of new stand candy and sodas is it.

Barista was very nice. Ordered triple shot and didn't have much crema and it wasn't that hot but the flavor was delish.

The best coffee bar in Coronado is Amalo. Second place would be a tie between the patio of Cafe 1134 and Tartine.

This past Sunday, I decided to head over for a morning walk and finally stopped in again. The shop is pretty small with limited seating, so it's not really a place to hang out. It seems more like a grab-and-go coffee spot. There aren't many great coffee shop options in this part of Coronado, so I can definitely see why it's popular with both locals and tourists. I arrived just before the morning rush, so I was able to order and get my drink almost immediately. The cashier was super friendly and welcoming, which made for a great first impression. I also really appreciated that they offer a military discount--it's always nice to see businesses supporting the military community. I ordered a medium cold brew with coconut cold foam and asked for very light ice. I was so happy they actually listened! So many coffee shops still fill the cup with ice even when you ask for light ice, and I hate watered-down coffee. This one was perfect. The coconut cold foam was absolutely delicious and added just the right amount of sweetness to complement the bold flavor of the cold brew without overpowering it. I also love that they serve organic coffee. I'll definitely have to remember to stop by more often whenever I'm in Coronado in the mornings. Next time, I need to try one of their donuts too!

Like several other places on this street, this place gets slammed constantly, especially on weekends. Even so, the customer service is super fast and friendly. They really try to stay on top of my coffee cup. The coffee itself is a really smooth and balanced flavor. The traditional diner appearance is also great. The only reason I would give 4 stars would be the chicken in the chicken and waffles.....which is not even bad. I have high standards for this in particular. Thinking about it again, there's a lot of bad chicken in this country, but I've rarely had bad chicken in chicken and waffles. Maybe it's because a breakfast place wouldn't attempt it in the first place if they couldn't make it well. I found this portion to be a bit light on the actual meat. The breading is excellent, but I can see that the meat starts to become drier in the sections where the meat is thicker. And, of course, still a bit lean. I believe chicken for chicken and waffles should be dark meat, like any self respecting Asian should. Lmao. Grits were good too.

It's tucked into a cute neighborhood near Logan Heights. We came around 9 a.m., and street parking was easy to find. There was already a line when we arrived, but it moved pretty quickly. The baristas were friendly and welcoming, and I thought the prices were really reasonable for San Diego. I ordered the black sesame matcha, and my husband got the Piloncillo. The matcha was creamy, rich, and not overly sweet, which I really appreciated. One thing to know if you're ordering matcha or a latte--they only offer oat milk, not almond milk. My husband loved his coffee and said the espresso was smooth, flavorful, and let the coffee shine without being overcomplicated. The shop itself is really cool too. There's an art installation inside, an outdoor patio with additional seating, and I noticed quite a few people picking up bags of espresso beans while we were there. Overall, we really enjoyed our visit and would definitely come back.

Since we had never tried a European-style café before, we thought we'd give it a shot. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing. Everything from the food to the ambiance and overall cleanliness left a lot to be desired. The paninis were unbelievably bland -- they really need some kind of sauce or spread because they had almost no flavor at all. On top of that, the prices were surprisingly high for what we received. The desserts were around $11 each, and they didn't even taste fresh. The bread pudding was so hard we could barely get our fork through it. The only redeeming thing about this place is the location. Otherwise, the tables and floors looked unclean, which made the whole experience even more off-putting. This restaurant really needs to revisit its menu and overall upkeep because, as it stands, it's not a place we'd return to.

Drinks came out timely (ok drinks) but we had an awkward interaction about our order. First of all, once it was ready nobody called it out and they just placed it on the counter. When my partner approached to ask if it was ours "fruitella crepe?", cashier said "did you order Nutella crepe", my partner said yes but with fruits. Then cashier looked at the cook and asked "is it frutella?" she then looked at my partner asking what we order. He repeated himself twice but it felt like between cashier and cook they kept asking the same question over and over again. After being asked multiple times (and being the only people inside) we have established that this was our order after all. This all could be avoided by......drumroll.....announcing food order at the first place.
