Our server was Chris and he was OUTSTANDING...very attentive and very friendly. Both managers visited our table several time to make sure we were good. The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is that what I had was just a bit underwhelming. We ordered the braised beef potstickers, california roll, and grilled and chilled shrimp for appetizers. The meat in the potstickers was very mushy. The california roll was decent. The grilled and chilled shrimp were fine. My husband had the filet - ordered medium well, served medium...the twice baked potato was very small and seemed to be overcooked. I had the lemon chicken entree - the taste was good, but was just a bit dry...it was served with fries, which was fine. The other couple ordered the skirt steak and the braised short ribs which they seemed to enjoy. My drink was amazing - the Amalfi Spritz. For dessert, we tried the butter cake...again, a bit underwhelming and not really good on flavor...I did taste the toffee and caramel, but the cake itself had no taste. Four of us popped in with a reservation for a high top on the patio 5/25/26. Sam Fox restaurants aren't always my go-to, but this location is an 'outlier'. Drink selection plentiful, wonderful ice-cold beer, Prime skirt steak on the salad prepared perfectly, Hot Crispy Chicken Sandwich on point and two Wagyu Burgers that could not have been better - with a toasted bun, always appreciate that extra step. So often places inquire as to the cook temp on beef and miss the mark, not here. Both burgers had different temp requests, and the kitchen nailed it. Better late than never- this review is solely for the pre-fixe menu offered at the Henry on Valentine's Day 2026. The Henry has been a staple in Coronado for a while and this is the first time we've tried it. It didn't disappoint! The vibes were high on Valentine's Day & although we had to wait a little longer than expected with reservations, it didn't kill the mood. All staff members were smiling and were nice. Our waiter was equally as nice & helpful with our menu questions. The Henry offered a 3 course pre-fix menu priced at $85 a person which is a great deal since other restaurants were offering the same for $100+ a person. Their menu offered a lot of the faves from their regular menu per our waiter. Even if it was a pre-fixe menu, there were a lot choices! Felt like their entire menu was on there, which was appreciated. It was lively out in the patio, but not annoyingly so. Wasn't as "romantic" as I expected, maybe cause there were a couple of TVs to the side of us. First dishes we tried were: Smoked Salmon & Caviar 5/5 Perfect app to start with, very shareable. Also had the Short Rib Potstickers and those were perfect as well! The sauce was the difference. Main dishes we tried were the Braised Short Rib & the Chateau Filet "Oscar Style" [Additional $20]. The Braised short Rib's sauce (kind of like the pot stickers) were really good. That's what set this Short Rib apart from the other ones I've tried. I didn't get tired of it while the mushrooms were such a happy surprise (cause I didnt read the menu) lol The Filet was good in it's own right. Kinda weird how they cut it though. The cuts were not proportioned at all. Not sure if that was a technique, but it just looked weird. Cooked medium-ish. The center was a little undercooked, but everything else was fine. For dessert, we chose the lemon olive oil cake - ah this one was soooo stinking good, I finished it all! That's surprising because the dessert was a full on dish. Thought we'd only get a portion since it was a 3 course meal, but nope, it was a full dessert. My wife and I had gifted my parents this past Christmas with an experiential gift where our gift was to take them anywhere they wanted to go to eat lunch or dinner, grab dessert, and hang out with us while we serve as their Uber. Since my parents aren't picky, we decided to take them to our son and his girlfriend's fave restaurant The Henry. Both of them swear by The Henry, so we chose The Henry because we knew our boy and his suitor would love to join us too. This was my wife and my first time dining here and now I know why The Henry is our son's fave. It's a classy restaurant in a beautiful town, the customer service was good, and the food was amazing. 4.5 Stars!!! The Henry is located on Coronado Island and can be reached either by taking the Coronado Bridge or driving down the Silver Strand making sure that you're on the main drag Orange Avenue. The restaurant is between C Avenue and 10th Street, it is just south of Clayton's Coffee Shop, on the same side as Bay Books and Moo Time ice cream, next to Francaise, and it's across the street from Geppetto's. Parking is mainly street parking, so you might have to park far especially on the weekend. Highly suggest you make reservations because The Henry is a popular restaurant. There is plenty of seating at the restaurant and it can easily accommodate large groups. You can either sit inside or sit outside and people watch. The outdoor round tables are made of marble, there's outdoor umbrella seating, there is high top tables, bar seating, indoor booth seating, and indoor wooden high top tables with leather seats. The decor is modern and old school at the same time with a beautiful painted mural, a wall of framed pics, black and white pics, decorative light fixtures, and an open kitchen that you can peep through a glass partition. The staff is friendly and our server provided good service, but I wished he checked on us more often. Our reservation was at 11:30am, so we were eating during the brunch and lunch hour. The menu included brunch choices, appetizers, salads, and entrees. Since this dining excursion was a Christmas gift for my parents, we wanted to make this special for them. For our appetizers, we ordered the Spicy Tuna & Crispy Rice and the Pretzels & Provolone Fondue. The spicy tuna & crispy rice comes with fresno chile, avocado, cilantro, scallion, and sweet soy. That was really fresh and tasty, but know that it only comes with 5 pieces, so order double for a party of six or more. The pretzels & provolone fondue come with large round balls of pretzels that you dip in the cheesy fondue. I really enjoyed that appetizer because of the hearty round pretzels and when dipped, they were really yummy. The star of my meal was my entree, which was the Wagyu Cheeseburger. It comes with lettuce, tomato, pickle, charred onion, white cheddar, american cheese, henry sauce, and fries. The bread is a toasted bun and when I took my very first bite, I knew I was going to enjoy it. I asked for the burger to be cooked medium and with that first bite, I can tell that The Henry serves quality food, which was evident by that burger and the two appetizers we consumed. Henry oh Henry, where were you all of my life? It took my coworker and I, a nursing conference at the Hotel del Coronado, in order to stumble upon you. After a few recommendations and a personal walk, to which we got to experience the massive lines that overflowed onto the sidewalk, it was worth the wait! It was a well-executed dish. We also got the scallops and gnocchi with asparagus. The scallops were well cooked without being rubbery. The gnocchi were pan fried to perfection. The white sauce base was countered with the zesty vibrance of lemons. It was so delicious, I mopped up every single drop of it. Overall, they have gone a step beyond what I consider standard American flare. The addition of Asian elements was incorporated well into the dishes we received. The servers checked in on us a fair amount, especially for how busy they were with the other patrons. Ambience was pleasant, slightly too dark, and a little on the noisy side. I've been wanting to come for a while now to try their Ahi Tuna. Sadly, it's only available for weekday lunch. Our server was not great. He never checked on us the whole meal, had an obvious fake smile on, was not patient, and had attitude when we asked questions. It was really pretty and tasty for something they just whipped up on the fly! My guy and I got the Short Rib Potstickers to start and they are an absolute MUST from here on out! Too tasty! Everything about it was fantastic, even the ponzu since it wasn't as sweet as normal ponzus. For my lunch, I got the Seared Tuna Chop salad. I got the vinaigrette on the side since I don't like vinegar. Unfortunately, the salad was really bland and boring without the dressing. I ended up using the ponzu from the potstickers and it saved the whole salad! They should look into switching the dressing on the menu. This visit was for my bestie's birthday and we had a party of 7. When I arrived at 5:45p our reservation table was not ready yet. The hostesses said that they would have it ready closer to 6p (the reservation time). I walked away to the corner and found a seat at The Francaise outside in one of their comfortable Adirondack patio chairs..as I was not offered a Henry patio seat, nor one at the Henry bar while I waited...rude. About 7 minutes later, one of my besties texted me that the table was ready. I walked back and the hostesses took me to our reservation table. Eventually our party all showed up and we were all seated and ready by 6:15p. Our server was Sterling. He was super customer service oriented and very professional. We ordered: Umami Brussels Sprouts, Pretzel Fondue, and Parmesan Truffle Fries as appetizers for the table. Our dinner entrees were: 4 braised short ribs, 1 Roasted chicken avocado salad, 1 Scottish Salmon, 1 Skirt Steak, and another dish. Everyone enjoyed the food. My Braised Short Rib entree had a large fatty piece and that was unfortunate. I still enjoyed the meal. Our birthday lady had a complimentary butter cake dessert...it was delicious but tasted more like Angel Food /Sponge cake. Overall a good experience. read more

Great service, love the environment. Potstickers had way more flavor than expected. The bolognese really hit the spot (I don't usually order pasta, but glad I did). The sweet potato dish as a side was super rich, couldn't finish it. It's usually served with the salmon entree where I think it would be much more balanced. Absolutley recommend! read more

Wow I absolutely loved this place I ordered the braised short ribs and it was super delicious, tasteful, and just absolute perfection. We had several drinks from the menu, and they were all delicious, we ordered what the waiter recommended for dessert, and it just ended are perfect night. The place is really nicely decorated. The ambience is super cute. It's definitely a place. I will continue to go. I would say the best part is the attentive service you get. Definitely give this place 5 stars! read more

The Henry is such a beautiful spot for a weekend brunch. The decor is incredibly chic, and the energy is lively. I ordered the avocado toast with poached eggs and a specialty latte, and both were fantastic. The ingredients tasted so fresh. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the wait for a table can be brutal on Sundays, and it gets pretty loud inside. Exceptional service, food, and ambiance. I forgot our server's name, but he's the one with the brightest smile and an upbeat personality. Hope we get him again next time! I will come back for my favorites: short rib potstickers and the incredible croissant bread pudding. My friend had the crab cakes that she also loved. They offer complimentary birthday treats. First time coming here, driving an hour all the way from Temecula, and already in love! We found street parking right away. Highly recommend! read more
