Stopped in for tea & coffee Lots of loose leaf tea options, I got earl grey. It was delicious. There are a plethora of coffee options also. Walked out with a bunch of baked goodies I didn't expect to get, but they all looked so good! We tried the macarons and chocolate dipped Madeline's. Didn't love the Madeline but the macaron was yummy! I think the decorated cakes are absolutely beautiful. Might try a slice of one next time I'm here. I was disappointed by my experience at this bistro. There were several flies flying around inside the closed glass display area where desserts are kept, which I found very concerning from a cleanliness and food-safety standpoint. I brought this to an employee's attention, expecting at least some acknowledgment or concern. Instead, she simply responded, "I know they're in there." There was no apology, no explanation, and she did not seem concerned about the issue at all. Seeing flies inside a closed food display is already unpleasant, but the casual response from the employee made the experience even more disappointing. I hope management takes this seriously and addresses the sanitation issue, as well as how concerns like this are handled with customers. read more

Food was good, a little pricey but still solid value for Coronado. Breakfast wrap really tasty. Standard breakfast bread nothing special. So many flies. This restaurant and the one next door. Pretty disgusting. They had fans for each table so they know it's an issue and they are trying to solve for it. We would have left without the fans. Food takes forever to come out. I was surprised, 25 minutes with the restaurant at 25-30% capacity. Waitress was nice enough but the ambiance and flies make it feel like a drag to be there. read more

Stopped by for a quick lunch before watching a movie, conveniently right across the street. The place is super cute and quaint, as if you are at a cafe in Paris. It has an old school rustic vibe with bistro tables inside and in the back area. We shared a steak sandwich and a side of truffle fries. The steak was tender and the bell peppers and arugula on a ciabatta bread were just perfection, so a 10/10. It comes with chips, and though I liked they were actually from real potatoes, it was a bit stale, so 6/10. Glad we got the side of truffle fries because that went perfectly with our sandwich 9/10. Service was also great. She made sure we got our food quickly, since we told her we were in a rush. I've been here a year ago and truly enjoyed it. Last month I took my boyfriend and it wasn't that great. My sandwich was kinda flavorless and coffee was too watery. He got a croissant and that was great. The place is pretty popular so be ready to wait for table...and for the waiter to take your order. It took us around 30 mins to get the table and another 30-40 to place an order. They have a little cute patio in the back where you can enjoy sun (if it's not too hot hehe). There was no wait for 5 people for Friday lunch and there's a surprisingly large seating area behind the inside of the restaurant for those who want to sit outside. The dutch pancake was huge and tasted amazing. The warm beignets was great, especially with the lemon curd. I got the egg, turkey sausage and cheddar bagel and that was a huge mistake. It was the most unsatisfying things to eat because of how dry it was. None of the flavors seem to come out leaving you with a tasteless lump of food in your mouth. This is such a lovely bistro in Coronado, nestled in between the gym and another cafe, Clayton's Bakery & Bistro is a quaint spot for a sweet treat and some French-style food. We came during their happy hour which is daily from 3pm-7pm! Enjoyed a nice espresso martini which was seriously delicious, on their patio. Although my meal wasn't very French style at all, I still had an amazing steak sandwich and fries. The steak sandwich was dripping with juices, and sandwiched in between ciabatta roll, which was toasted and warm. It was recommended by our server, and I thank her for her recs! Lastly, we got to try some of their desserts. They were all delicious, and I enjoyed their Moon Pie the most. We actually had a hiccup with our meal (found something in the sandwich), but the service remained professional and was taken seriously. The food here is tasty, though and everyone is friendly. The Bistro is having some problems with preparing food in a timely manner. Today we waited 30 minutes to be seated. That was understandable since Coronado is very busy on the weekend. The wait staff came to our table fairly promptly. We decided to order the drinks and food all at one time because our last two visits it took an hour to get our food. Today the food arrived in about 20 minutes. Our cocktails and ice tea didn't arrive until we were finished and ready to pay. The waitress apologized and said she needed to help the drink person catch up on making the drinks. I'm glad we didn't refuse the drinks because the Espresso Martini was the best thing I've had at the Bistro. The point of this review is that Coronado needs a good place to eat for locals and visitors alike. There's great potential here. Management appears to be ignoring these reviews which comment on slow delivery, cleanliness, and few staff. I hope the management starts doing their job. read more

We stopped in for Sunday brunch after church and only had a short wait for a table for two. The service was prompt, welcoming, and very sweet and helpful. We chose to sit on the charming, cozy patio, which made for a really pleasant atmosphere. The drinks took a little while to arrive, but the rest of the service was excellent. So amazing! I'll admit I'm more of a breakfast person so I've never ordered a sandwich. The B.L.T was so good, made with applewood bacon, crisp fresh lettuce, garlic aioli on a toasted delicious croissant with everything seasoning . What a wonderful place for breakfast lunch or brunch. We came here on a Sunday afternoon after checking out of our hotel. We were told to wait 20 minutes for a party of 6. Very friendly and welcoming hostess. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. One side is a bakery and one side is the bistro. The food here was delicious. Everything we ordered from coffee to dishes tastes amazing. The bagel with lox and cream cheese I ordered was the best one I ever had at a restaurant. My husband ordered a croque Monsieur and loved it. Again the best one ever. The avocado toast and the wraps were as good. My son had the honey bee cortado which was perfectly made. Our waiter I believe his name was Payton was very nice and attentive. Everyone we encountered with were amazing. However recently they changed their service model where instead of ordering as you enter and the food is brought to you, they have the traditional waitress service and that has resulted in significant delays in the food coming to the tables! I was in Coronado and decided to try a crepe and beignets here, as I had heard good things about this place. I was directed to go to the counter to place a to go order. I waited and was ignored (by at least 2 people behind the counter) for several minutes before i had to ask for help. I ordered a strawberry and banana crepe, was charged appropriately for requesting extra fruit, then waited about 15 minutes. My order was ready as promised but when I got home (Chula Vista) I discovered that I didn't get the bananas. Annoying to be charged for something I didn't get and it was too far to return. A front patio and a back patio. The weather was perfect so we decided to sit on the front patio. The staff was friendly and very helpful with recommendations. I started with the cinnamon honey latte (delicious!) got the Dolce de Leche bread pudding (sooooo good!) and the Eggs, bacon, fontina (on an amazing soft, flaky, buttery croissant). Overall I will say it was a good experience. Arrived here early and sat ourselves. Service at first seemed a tad bit slow but I think it was recognized and adjusted as our server was switched out in the middle of our meal. That in itself won favor in my opinion. I wanted to try this adorable bakery on my last visit but didn't have time as it was a short work trip to NASNI and I didn't have a lot of free time on the island. Last week, I was able to spend an afternoon and have lunch and chose to spend it here! I'm so glad I did. This is going to be one of those, must eat at spots from now on when I'm on Coronado. I was easily sat on the back patio outside without a wait and a friendly server came to take my order within just a few minutes. I tried the Lavender Vietnamese Iced Coffee and their Spinach, Tomato and Cheese Croissant. Both were wonderful, I did have to have my coffee remade bc it was so sweet it didn't taste like coffee ut more like syrup. Easily taken care of by my server who was attentive and proficient the entire time and apologized for the ratio of milk/syrup to coffee. My sandwich on the buttered croissant was amazing and I chose to add their fresh house-made chips for $4 which was a huge portion (I took half to go and enjoyed later) and very delicious and crispy and fresh. After lunch I went to the bakery next door to browse the sweets and every single thing was beautiful and delicious.
