Love the food here but it is on the pricy side. The shop is inside the downtown. I really liked the pork neck! Will go back just for that. There are seatings outside too. When we were there, it seemed like there were only 2 servers. Was a bit difficult to get their attention as the shop got busier. Overall exp was good

Every time we go here always quick service between certain times but it's always good from fresh roti and cucumber salad while we wait for the main course so good . Come by

My go to restaurant in Castro had been Amarin Thai (the old location) and this was the first time we tried out this new version (and the first time I posted with a photo...sorry it was a candid novice yelper POV image of a half eaten meal...disgusting, maybe, but at least it was honest). My thoughts it was pretty good food, chill vibes, and two entrees were enough to satisfy two hungry gluttons.

gets busy for good reason! ive eaten here and ordered online for pickup. still very good customer service but i opt to order for pickup to avoid the crowd. i recommend any of the curries, ha mok fish, and spicy crispy catfish! all very flavorful! dont forget the the side of rice cause it none of the entrees come with it. the pad thai was lackluster for me, ive had better elsewhere.

Food is mediocre and staffs are not friendly. First time here asked for food recommendation, she's so impatient and rushed us to order food immediately. She recommended the mussaman curry, it's so sweet, not spicy and thick gravy, doesn't have the curry kick. The roti was delicious but the peanut sauce was not a good match. She didn't even asked us if we were allergic to peanut. Also there's another option for the roti dipping sauce which is the curry sauce. Green curry was just okay, mango salad with fried tofu was the only one we liked. She didn't recommend that, we decided to try it. Not going back for sure.

Dined here recently with a party of nine people and they were very accommodating and attentive to our large group. We ordered nine different dishes and the flavors of each dish were quite tasty and authentic. The only drawback was we received our entrees and had to ask for the rice and we also ordered fried rice and it was one of the last dishes to arrive...we would have preferred it earlier in the meal. Overall, it was a satisfying and delicious meal!! Also, a perfect day to dine outdoors.

Checked out the second Amarin location on Castro street for the first time! Not sure why the original location was closed, but we were still glad to get our Thai food fix in. Yellow Curry -- nice coconut flavors coming through, a bit too many potatoes would've preferred more chicken Pad Kee Mao -- classic dish done well, nice balance of sweet & umami flavors Ground Pork Larb -- perfectly seasoned ground pork mixed with cilantro & mint, tasted very healthy Overall, we were all pleased with Amarin 2.0! Flavors were authentic and portions were large. Service was fast and we were seated right away. There were a few other parties inside on a weekday evening. Their second location is a bit smaller than their original, nevertheless the ambience was pleasant and homey. Portions were decently sized and reasonably priced. Would recommend parking at one of the Castro parking structures nearby.

3.5 Stars which Im rounding up to 4 because they're just scaling up in this new location. I tried the pad see ew and panang curry in extra spicy. I don't think they were spicy and they only had chili garlic sauce as opposed to chili oil or chili flakes. On top of that I think the pad see ew was a bit on the oilier side but neither of these are a big deal I just don't think the food was amazing. The portions were also on the slightly smaller side. Service was really nice though so bumping them up for that! Ambiance was like a regular thai place.

Good food and seating area (indoor and outdoor). The service is OK and the portion sizes are good.

High quality food with very comfortable outdoor seatings! It's very authentic Thai food and I especially like the Massaman curry with chicken thighs. I can't eat very spicy food and the spice level for this curry is perfect for me. Tons of chicken. The pad see ew is also highly recommended. The pork neck is mediocre, on the drier side even with the sauce. Price is definitely on the higher side given that it's in Mountain View downtown. One serving of jasmine rice is $2.99. The service is average only.

Food was super yummy and well priced! If you're looking for good flavors while not trying to break the bank, check our Amarin. The restaurant is simple, and the servers allow you to customize the spice level of your dish. The only comment is that the green beans are basically raw in the crying tiger veggie mix & papaya salad, which we didn't like.

Glad they have this Amarin Thai Cuisine extension at Downtown Mountain View. They offer most of the food from the main restaurant, plus more. And set up is more updated. I enjoy the satay chicken and samosas here. Been ordering them every time we go here. We tried a couple of plates too, tofu and baked chicken at separate occasions and they both are good. The plates were big servings and are very filling. The place is usually not crowded even during lunch hour, so service is fast and easy to get a table.

Ordered tom kha gai, pad kee mao, and som tam to go. The food tasted fine, but Tom Kha Soup portion was very small for 18.99 and it came with white button mushrooms instead of oyster/straw mushrooms and didn't see usual herb garnishes. The staff was friendly and helpful at pick up. Atmosphere at this location was pretty plain, I liked dining at their previous location because of their unique ambience. Feels like they might be cutting costs, even with a simple bowl of soup sadly.

We got the Penang braised beef, pad see ew, pad ka pow, Thai hot pot, and mango sticky rice. The Penang braised beef is basically like the Penang curry - very rich, well spiced, and the beef is tender. My favorite dish here. Pad see ew is good but fairly standard - pricing is pretty high for a dish like this - $20+ for a noodle dish. The pad ka pow is good - something I normally wouldn't get, in favor of curry, but it was great for sharing and open up my horizons beyond my typical order. Thai hot pot for $35 was really disappointing - there is good amount of beef but they do not do a good job with the meat cuts and it is easy to overcook due to the constant fire inside cooking up the soup. Mango sticky rice is good - mangoes were sweet and fresh, but the rice was on the undercooked side. Service is good as water refills were present and they brought the dishes in a timely manner. Overall, decent Thai food, but coming from Seattle, this did not wow me the same way as my friends do who live around this area.

Could have been perfect, but the inside wasn't warm. Still ordering it again next time I go! The woman who was taking care of everyone seated (about six full tables) was kind and welcomed us to come back which I appreciated. The parking was a little tough even on a Wednesday at 1 PM. All in all, it was really enjoyable and I'll definitely be coming back with my buddies!

For protein choice, I would recommend not going with the crunchy pork if you don't like chewing on harder fried chunks. The flavor is good but a little hard to bite through. Sausage Appetizer: 5/5 The sausage is juicy and has the sourness that fermented thai sausages usually have. I love that they provided ginger, nuts, thai chilis, and cabbage to pair with sausage. My name got called and they said "oh let's wait till all your party comes and then we'll get you seated." I explained to them that I need the table 1st so that my friend doesn't have to go through waiting standing, then getting usher to a table, considering the handicap. They were stuck in their thought process and did not give us a table. My friend had difficulty parking and getting in - so of course we had to wait to get a table. This is not at all considerate of them when we explicitly said we have a member with a handicap. They were rigid. What I noticed is that the corner table I asked for was given to a lady, even though her companion came in much later! The indoor seating is very cramped. I wonder how many people are truly allowed! I can grab anything from the next table if I wanted to - that's how terrible the seating is. 1 point for : The food is OK. Everything tastes the same. It's a bit too salty. This place is not worth a second chance! Especially for their attitude towards the disabled and handicapped!

I would try it again with chicken or beef. The sauce does not really penetrate the prawns. The flavor and thick texture of the pumpkin sauce and pumpkin chunks was good. It was not overly sweet, and the coconut milk and red curry was noticeable. I was not a big fan of the spicy basil grilled beef. Flavor was okay. It wasn't a great cut of beef. The Tiger Cry was not a great cut of beef either. It was a bit thin compared to another place. It's a grilled hangar steak. It was served with steam vegetables and a not very spicy vinaigrette sauce. My son loves meat, so he would choose the Tiger Cry between the two. The pad see ewe with beef was a bit oily and not super flavorful. The noodles were soft and the beef tender. I thought it was better than the pad thai I had here last time. The Pad thai did not have that much flavor and the noodles were very soft. Yellow curry with chicken is always my favorite. It is good here. We also ordered the Mussaman curry, with beef and it has ginger and pineapple. It's a different flavor than the yellow curry and it has potatoes too. Thai iced tea is Thai iced tea. A lot of Asian restaurants have employees with English as their second language, so they can be very shy. Tip is on the total not the subtotal if that makes a difference to you. Food here was good. Let's start with the food - it's good not great. Thai food is generally known to be affordable and good value. This spot definitely isn't going to be saving you any money to offset less than stellar quality. If there were no other Thai options, it may be ok, but the Bay isn't lacking in quality Thai food. Most dishes are bland and dare I say pretty Americanized. Sadly, the food is the best part. The service is really and I mean really bad. Even when it's empty, they are still slow and don't seem to care at all. Complete antithesis of what you may be used at Thai restaurants. The atmosphere is mid. The place hasn't really been updated much over the years and it's starting to show its age. Overall, it feels like Amarin is stuck in the past and everything has just come at them fast. The best item during the meal was the pad thai. This was so good we had to order 2. The noodles were cooked well- still having a nice amount of chew to it. These managed the thorough coating of the pad thai sauce without making the dish mushy. Shrimp protein was an added $5 fee but the portions were plentiful. We went with the green curry due to it being described as sweet and spicy- the perfect balance in flavors. The curry is automatically made at a medium spice level but on Thai terms- be advised this may be too spicy for the average person. The green curry was enjoyed by all and I would easily order this again. Pad see you was good, not as good as the pad thai, but still very delicious. While other reviews note this dish as being too sweet, I didn't notice since I put a good dusting of the dry chili powder on my food. The anchan lemonade deserves a little bit of the spotlight. This drink is 100% recommended due to it being refreshing, beautiful on the eyes, and sour as any lemonade should be!! You won't find a sugar packed cup of color liquid here. 5/5 stars for Must Be Thai!!! Pricing is definitely pricey and I only wished the portions were a little bigger. But!! The food is honestly the best Thai in the Peninsula (my opinion) with very authentic flavors. I'd definitely recommend coming with a group so you can order and try more dishes together. Here's what we ordered: Pineapple fried rice with seafood: This is probably my most favorite dish. Super fragrant, flavorful, and loaded with seafood. Even the picky ones or children can have it, as it's not spicy at all Panang Neua: Beef rib was super tender and basically falling off the bone. It came with sticky rice and sauces, looks aesthetic in picture. Tom Kha with chicken: A rich, creamy coconut flavor soup. Very comforting and an easy dish. Tom Yum with shrimp: A bit sour and spicy soup, I really like it but some found it a bit too spicy. Pad See Ew with beef: I originally thought I wouldn't like it because I expected it to be a greasy heavy dish, and it was in fact still a little oily, but the beef, the seasoning and sauce were actually really good, so I ended up enjoying it a lot more than expected. Overall, this place has been consistently great both times I visited. Definitely recommend if you're craving Thai food in the area.
