Someone had recommended this to me because of the gluten free crust, which was surprisingly not the issue. I ordered the gluten free "pizza" and Caesar Salad. The salad came out with no detectable dressing. The server said: "Oh yea we do it traditional without Caesar Dressing...Just olive oil and vinegar." No Caesar dressing on a Caesar salad? Odd. But I ate it. I was starving. I waited thirty-five minutes for my pizza to arrive. It had almost no cheese on it. Server said: "We use fresh cheese so it's not going to cover your pizza..." Newsflash: I use fresh cheese all the time and never have that issue. She offered to remake it. Which would take another 20-30 minutes, with the same amount of cheese as before... "If you want more cheese to cover it, you'll have to pay extra.." "Can you bring me cheese to put on top of this?" "No. It won't be melty." As I was leaving, she said: "Our pizzas are dry. Our salads are dry..." What a way to be remembered! 34 bucks for dry Romaine lettuce and pizza with almost no cheese that took forever to make... Today's lesson: Make sure you bring your own cheese and dressing, cause Amatos isn't providing it...The whole meal felt like she was making excuses for why they were clearly cutting corners on everything and for why they couldn't provide you a decent pizza covered in cheese or a salad covered in dressing in under an hour. ( And under 40 bucks of course). Its lackluster at best and they aren't really willing to work with you to fix the problem. Sure, they'll remake it with the same amount of cheese and toppings as before and it take more of your time but if really want coverage on the pizza that you ordered. you'll pay extra. (Even though fresh cheese doesn't really melt enough to cover it...) This particular server was way more interested in lecturing me on why it's more traditional to put a drop of oil and vinegar on a Caesar salad than Caesar dressing! The picture below shows the way pizza came: Little to no topping, almost no cheese and almost burnt on the edges...With plenty of excuses and customer blaming to go around... In my defense, I left half of it on the table. This review should suffice anyone thinking of going there on any given night and to the owners. Go elsewhere!

We really enjoyed our time at Amato's. For starters we had the Italian Sausage, the meatballs and the bruschetta. The sausage and meatballs were both delicious. Actually, the sausage may have been our favorite of all we ate. I wouldn't order the bruschetta again. It was fine, but paled in comparison to everything else we had. The arugula salad was my second favorite thing. We had it with the blue cheese vinaigrette. We order two pizzas, the margarita on cauliflower crust and the Adrianne with sausage and caramelized onions suggested by our wonderful server. How a simple margarita pizza had that much flavor is a wonder! It was delicious! That being said, the Adrianne was so good that we came home and made homemade pizza to ditto it. Imitation is the best form of flattery! We will definitely be back when we're in the area!

Quite possibly the most disappointing pizza we've ever had. To go order for a base pie w prosciutto ... no prosciutto, very little cheese ... my wife said they were training two people. Very, very disappointing.

We had simply a perfect evening here after Pride. Do you remember summer evenings as a kid, running around a public space outside a restaurant, maybe listening to live music and just having the time of your life? I do, and that's the vibe we had sitting out on Amato's patio watching the cars go by in busy, adorable, progressive little Delaware. Don't sleep on Delaware - it is cute, hip and full of trendy little shops and restaurants. Amato's has great wood-fired pizzas, including gourmet options they devise or custom 'zas you create yourself. Hubby and the kid both had and loved pasta dishes: carbonara and Alfredo. I had the Margherita pizza and it rocked. Pasta dishes came with generous portions of garlic bread. My pizza came out fast. Drinks were always kept full. The sun was warm and we were all happy from Pride - and we could see Delaware's rainbow Pride flags from where we sat. Great meal, kiddo had fun hanging out by the fountain, and hubby and I enjoyed watching all the hotrods go by. This is a perfect spot for your next evening out!

We recently moved to Delaware and wanted to start trying the "mom & pop" restaurants. Amato's was on our list and they did NOT disappoint! The quality of our food was spot on. Service was great as well. This restaurant is ran like a well oiled machine. At 6ish on Tuesday winter night-it was pretty busy. We ordered the Tuscan Cheesy Bread for an appetizer, hubby got the 12 inch pep & cheese pizza and I ordered the chicken salad sub. Delish!!! We will be back!

Not sure which pie...but it was great!

Back for more...always a good pie! Great crust, fresh mozzarella...and tonight fresh basil and sun dried tomatoes...if you like wood fired pizza, this it a great place to go!

"Nightmare on Pep Street... and I Loved Every Bite"…read more Stopped in after a lab appointment, running on fumes and bad decisions, so I figured pizza was the cure. Loiee G's did not disappoint. I grabbed a Medium "Nightmare on Pep Street" -- garlic butter, red sauce, three types of pepperoni -- basically the holy trinity of flavor. I inhaled it like I was auditioning for a competitive eating show. While still chewing, I ordered an 18-inch Meat Pizza for the tribe back home (because sharing is caring, apparently). This is proper NY-style pizza: thin, crispy, and foldable -- the kind of slice that makes you feel like you should be yelling "Yo!" on a Brooklyn sidewalk. The topping ratio was chef's kiss -- not overloaded like most C-Bus pies that think they're competing in a topping-weight contest. Everyone at home gave the thumbs up, proving I can, in fact, make good life choices when hungry. Bonus points: the pinball collection is serious. My buddy (resident pinball nerd) told me to check out the Godzilla and John Wick machines -- because nothing pairs better with pizza than saving Tokyo or racking up a kill streak in neon lights. Verdict: Loiee G's is legit. Great crust, perfect ratios, and enough pinball nostalgia to make you forget your cholesterol results.

When I called in to let them know, and ask for a refund, I could hear the manager complaining and making excuses that "well, it's gluten free. That's just how it is." Then they only gave me 25% back. The cost of the GF pizzas was 50% of my total order. Stay away from Loiee G's if you are gluten free!!!

Heads up that…read morethe space itself is small, more of a bar with a handful of tables than a full sit-down restaurant, so don't go in expecting a big dining room. The stromboli, though, is excellent. Hard to describe it any other way than it tastes exactly like a stromboli should; that herby, parmesan-dusted pastry crust with a great cheese pull. Simple as that sounds, nailing the "expected" flavor perfectly is harder than it sounds, and they do it right. Would recommend for a casual, no-frills Italian bite with solid service

Unfortunately, our last two visits have made it clear that both the service and food quality have changed, and we won't be returning. Tonight, we waited more than 1.5 hours for our food after being told our ticket had been lost. Stuff happens, we let it slide. Our pretzel appetizer eventually came out and was fine, followed by another long wait for our pizza and large Stromboli. When they arrived, the dough on both was dry, dense, and flat and seemed as though it had not risen properly. We ate one piece or less of each, told our waitress the food was not good, and asked her to take it away. What ultimately sealed the deal was how the issue was handled. Rather than removing food we did not eat from the bill, the manager offered a gift card for a future visit. We declined because we did not intend to return, yet we were still charged full price for both items. After a 1.5+ hour wait caused by a lost ticket, followed by food that was barely touched and immediately sent back because of the quality, charging full price was disappointing. The appropriate response is simply to make it right for the customer. We paid and still tipped but given their handling of the situation felt compelled to leave the review. Sad to say won't return after being long time customers.

I've also been severely disappointed by small town pizza in the past, so I'd always drive to Delaware or Marysville if I wanted a pizza. Tonight I was feeling extra lazy, didn't want to cook, didn't want to drive and refuse to use food delivery....so I decided to give Leb's a try, since it's just three minutes from home. The place itself isn't much to look at, which is fine by me, but there was also a weird smell (alcohol?) in the air that was a little off-putting to me. I was a little worried but ordered anyway. When I got the pizza, I figured out why the pictures look "bad" to me....the cheese is mostly on top of the other toppings. I could tell, though, this wasn't a pizza made for its social media posts....this was just a good old fashioned, well made pizza. And holy crap, was it GOOD. I ate half of an extra large, admittedly a good bit more than I meant to eat tonight, and I really want more as I'm typing this out. Seriously, every part of this pizza was just good...the crust and sauce especially stood out to me. I don't order pizza often, but I'm definitely going back and not just because I'm lazy and it's close.
