    Breakfast burrito
    Tracy R.

Great açaí bowls, mediocre other breakfast food. If you're looking for an açaí bowl, this is the place to be! I came here on a Wednesday morning, food was out quickly. - Açaí (organic) bowl: 5/5. This was the star of my order, the açaí was sweet and flavorful but not in an artificial way, and the granola and fruit added nice textures and dimension to the bowl. Strawberries were sweet and yummy. -Breakfast burrito with a tomato tortilla (added bacon): 3/5. The burrito was quite sizable and full of potatoes, eggs, and cheese. There was a bit too much cheese and the burrito felt unbalanced, there's was no salsa, sauce, or "wow" factor that brought the burrito home for me. But if you're looking for something to fill you up, it's pretty good. -Granola smoothie: 1/5. I got this smoothie on a recommendation of a staff member, but I didn't like it at all. The blended granola gave the smoothie a grainy texture, and the strawberry or banana flavors weren't very distinct. It just kinda tasted... blah. Avoid this one. This is a small place, so not very many sitting chairs. The ambiance was friendly and welcoming, playing some Hawaiian tunes and cool vibes. Will be coming back for the açaí bowls for sure.

Nice spot to get your smoothie fix. The workers are nice and quick to make your order. I got the vita mango and guava shake. Both were super smooth and creamy, but tasted a bit similar. They were both enjoyable though so I can't complain. I saw another customer get the acai bowl, which looked massive and delish! I'd definitely opt to get that next time. While this isn't the most modern of places, it has a bright and homey feel to it which makes me wanna come back despite these not being the best smoothies I've had!

Açaí bowl with coconut, chia seeds, & honey added

Over this past weekend I found myself craving an açaí bowl. In the past, I have enjoyed the açaí primo bowl at Jamba Juice, but I wanted to continue pursuing my goal to personally seek out small business alternatives. Amazon Juices was a fantastic find. I was greeted kindly by Hannah, the lovely cashier who helped me this Sunday. I informed her that I had never been there before, and she answered my many questions considerately. I definitely wanted to try their açaí bowl, but was between the two sizes they offer. Hannah pointed out the minuscule price difference, which led me to go with the 24oz, and I'm very happy I did. I requested that honey, chia seeds, & coconut be added. It was delicious. I thoroughly enjoyed every bite of that bowl. The amount of granola that the bowl comes with was very generous, and the same goes for all the toppings I asked for. Without the toppings I ordered, the price was about the same as the açaí bowl at Jamba juice, except you'll get a higher quantity of better quality ingredients here. My only complaint - No goji berries! I think you guys could really benefit from adding that as a topping option. I know I'd order it.

Overall a cute shop and a good place to stop for lunch. SERVICE: they seemed to be understaffed so it took about 20 minutes to get our food, but we weren't in a rush so we didn't mind. they gave us a giant cup of granola when i just asked for extra granola - so nice FOOD: pretty average acai bowls. the breakfast burrito was so big for just $4.95. can't beat those prices. wish that the outdoor dining tables were more clean, but other than that, i had a good experience.

I've been here a couple of times now, I've tried their acaí bowl, their granola smoothie, all of their empanadas(spinach and cheese one is my favorite), their breakfast burrito, breakfast sandwich, and banana smoothie(so so good!) It has ALL been delicious. Their portions are very fair for the price. If you're looking for a delicious smoothie, something filling and tasty. This is the spot to go!

I have been wanting to try Amazon Juices for a long time. I was craving a smoothie bowl so I decided to try it out. First off, the decor is so fun and cute! Also the employees are very kind and helpful. I ordered the dragon fruit smoothie bowl for $9.75. I thought it was a little pricy at first, but when I saw the size and toppings on the bowl I had no regrets. The smoothie was bright and delicious. The fruit was super fresh. It was very nice and refreshing on a hot day. Overall, Amazon Juices is definitely worth the money. This is definitely going to be a new regular spot for me!

I was REALLY craving an acai bowl as an afternoon pick-me-up and this hit the spot! I got their smaller sized acai bowl and it was ready in about 5 minutes. Friendly service and an overall pleasant experience. They have a huge range of other menu options that totally appeal to me, which include smoothies, juices, and actual meals (plates, tacos, burritos). Free parking around the corner in a lot that looks like it's for the condo building next door.

New favorite juice/smoothie spot near Santa Cruz! They're mango banana smoothie was really good and cashier was really friendly! Will definitely be coming back!

Gluten-free avocado toast & very berry smoothie. Yum!
    Bree G.

This place is awesome. I have a banana allergy which has made smoothie/acai experiences in the past difficult. This place always rinses their blenders before they make my smoothies and I have never had an issue. I really appreciate when businesses choose to be compassionate about something like that. They also carry many gluten-free food options! I would recommend their avocado toast. Totally satisfying!

I had a pastrami sandwich there once before and it was pretty good, so figured this would do. Ordered the burger combo with Lentil soup. Asked for my burger medium and when it came out it was well past that and I'm pretty sure it was a frozen patty. I have frozen patties I cook at home that are great, so guessing it just wasn't very good quality to begin with. The lentil soup was flavorless and I only had a few bites before tossing out. Seasoning, a ham hock, and some aromatics would do a lot for this soup. Left feeling very disappointed as there are a bunch of more satisfying options in the area and I chose the wrong one. As I was sitting in traffic, my stomach started feeling like I ate some broken glass or something. Obviously there wasn't broken glass in the burger, just a fitting analogy. I had stomach pains for the next few hours. This is all I had eaten in like 10 hours, so I'm positive it was the burger. The woman at the counter was friendly and the place was pretty clean. I've got a pretty iron gut and it takes a lot to make it turn. Don't think I will be going back.

They also had deli meat you could buy and stuff you could take home with you. The lady that helped me was incredibly friendly impatient since I had no idea what I wanted to eat. Lol when I got my fire sandwich, I neglected to ask if there was any condiments or vegetables inside besides the bell peppers. I always like lettuce or something with a crunch. Sandwich was pretty basic, but I think it needed something extra like a spicy aïoli sauce or something added to take it up to a different level of flavor. (I have, no joke, walked by it dozens of times without realizing it!) I found it from seeing it on a list of restaurant participants for Burger Week. Overall, I give Pete's 3.5 stars, and here's why... **Ambiance: 5 stars** With the bright and tastefully-decorated dining room along with the multiple windows overlooking the spectacular beach, you really can't beat this ambiance! Pete's has the fine-dining vibe that's perfect for that first date, anniversary or other special dining occasion when you want some quiet and mood lighting. **Service: 4 stars** We were seated right away, even without reservations. It was a Sunday, and there was no wait or crowd. Service was quick and friendly. Mid-dinner, a server broke some glassware right behind my seat and needed us to move so they could sweep under our table and feet. They ended up moving us to a better table (next to the window) instead of having us stand there to watch them sweep. Accidents happen, and I felt they handled that well. **Food: 3 stars** Every item we ordered was delicious and fresh, and all arrived quickly. However, the menu was fairly compact, and the amount of food is even more compact. I was excited Pete's had lobster rolls (one of my all-time favorite food items EVER; $28) on their menu, so I didn't hesitate to order that along with a lychee martini. My partner ordered the bolognese ($30) and an old fashioned. We ordered the polenta as an appetizer. All of it was tasty, but oh-so-small. The cheddar polenta was like a taste test size (maybe 4 TBs), and the lobster roll was the smallest I had ever seen in my life. I didn't want to be rude, but I wanted to laugh when it arrived at our table! The lobster roll was smaller than my hand. It looked like circus food with all super tiny sizes. **Price/Value: 2 stars** You don't come to Pete's for the value because the portions are.... micro. TIP: If you have a big appetite or skipped a meal that day, I suggest going elsewhere or be ready to turn over a paycheck because you'll need to order a lot to fill up. It is worth it, however, if you fancy a light-filled room with views of the sparkling ocean and sounds of the waves crashing on the golden sands of Capitola!

He claimed that it was already contaminated despite the fact that it was still completely wrapped in paper. He acted like we were putting him out by us asking him to simply cut the sandwich in half. He accused my girlfriend of "contaminating" the sandwich (in his words) just by touching it despite the fact that it was handled by 2 people before we even touched it.
