I have not been to AMC Cherry Hill in years! I would say the theater could use some updates such as : reclining seats, food and drinks delivered to viewer in theater.

What a big and stunning theater! We saw Queen in IMAX. I became a fan of the larger than life band in the 80's and my girl, when the movie came out about 4 years ago. Great reclining seats and sound system. I even loved the bathroom!

Baby bed bug nymphs under the seats upon checking with a flashlight. Dolby theatre section D....bit during movie and actively crawling on us.

(12:55pm) Drove up to get tix for 2pm showing of Thunderbolts. The doors were locked. 3 ushers were sweeping the parking lot. I drove up to ask them what time they open. One of them got snobby and said, "Check your showtimes!" I said 2pm show. One of the other said 1:30pm. This was my first impression of this theater for the day

The beginning to the end of FAST X was great. All my favorite actors and actresses were in it. Can't wait for what the future holds. It's a MUST WATCH MOVIE!

Everything in the bathroom looks like it was in a flood.

I was here maybe 4ish years ago and this theater was pretty nice. I don't even know that it was that long ago. However tonight I returned and I'm pretty sure this is just an abandoned building that they are showing movies in. The bathroom looks like it was underwater at some point. Everything is water damaged. The floor is slick with piss. They have the slowest concession servers I've ever seen put popcorn in a bucket. We got there early and there were only about 5 people in front of me. After 15 minutes and only two people being served I just got out of line. I thought hey maybe those people were just being complicated. The people right behind me were in the same theater as me. They missed all the previews and a little bit of the movie. It reminded me of the old 69th street theater where everyone talked and texted. Everything is sticky and the seats are uncomfortable. I saw the Batman three times in three different theaters this weekend and this was by far the worst. I think it even more striking because I remember how it was. The glory days are over. Level the joint and start over.

Long line with one cashier open.

I tend to go here out of convenience. Easy access from Philadelphia and only 10 minutes from home, this location has ample parking and usually a good showing selection. Convenience is pretty much the only perk though. It's very dated inside with older bathrooms, dirty theaters, and slow service at both the ticket booth and at the concessions.

Clean place, comfortable recliner seats and amazing surround system. Concession stand was clean and workers were polite.

This movie theater is a dump. All the money it costs to take a date to the movies, and this is what she sees? Ive never been so embarrassed in my entire life. I would rather i watch a movie on my phone than come back to this movie theater. I got tickets for CHRISTMAS DAY to see nosferatu, and THIS was our christmas date. I can not tell you enough how NASTY of a movie theater this is. I am full aware i have zero chance of getting a refund, but if i can prevent anyone else from having to sit in this gross, dirty, stained, unhygienic place it will be worth it. Cherry hill is supposedly strict with inspectors, i doubt they come in here, i can only imagine what fheir food prep area for popcorn and soda must be like

This movie theater is very out date. 90s seats .. doesn't recline. Very tight knees space. Don't come here if you're looking for comfort or plan on watching a long movie. I wanted to walk out immediately. AMC needs to renovate this place. It's crappy

:) I hope they'll upgrade to the recliner seats soon, but everything else was phenomenal.

Was looking for the collectible Freddy popcorn bucket and was told that they sold out by Friday (there were only 3 showings, one Thursday night, one Friday night and an 11or so am showing today Saturday) no problem, it happens. We stopped by the little area were you get napkins and condiments and it was filthy! There was spilled popcorn, spilled soda(?), just nasty. Plus, they have their condiments (ketchup, mustard and relish) in the squeeze bottles that you'd have at home. That can't be sanitary or safe so we bypassed that! We get into the theater and the seats are old and need to be replaced. As soon as I sat down the cushion dropped straight to the frame like the padding was gone. It's just old and worn out. They let a lot of young people in who were under 18 by themselves and they talked loud throughout whole the movie!! They started talking before the movie started and never stopped, even though people were telling them to shut up. This theater is obviously a hangout spot for the local kids. The theater was FREEZING!! It was so cold I started shivering. I thought it was just me but my wife said she was cold as heck too. My feet got so cold it felt as if I was standing on a steel plate,my hands were so cold they started going numb so I had to blow on them. This is completely unacceptable. We'll never go back there again!!

Bed bugs!!!! I've…read morebeen going to the movies for over 30 years. It's one of my biggest hobbies and one of the few places in life where I can truly disconnect -- lights down, sound up, big screen glowing, popcorn drowning in butter, and a cold drink in the cup holder. This AMC has been my closest theater for decades. I've been here hundreds of times. Sometimes people talk. Sometimes kids kick seats. Whatever -- that's life. But what happened on my most recent visit? That was a nightmare. Shortly after I sat down, I felt this weird tingling on my left shoulder/back area. I was wearing a T-shirt and the previews were starting, so I brushed it off. A minute or two later, same feeling. Again, I ignored it. Big mistake. The next day, that entire area was covered in welts and the itching was unreal. I showed my cousin, who's a nurse, and she confirmed immediately: Bedbug bites. Let me be clear: I work in a sterile environment. I hadn't been anywhere else. The only place I went was THIS theater. My wife and I had to throw away every single piece of clothing we wore that day, plus all our bed linens and everything in the hamper. And here's the worst part: I tried calling AMC over and over. Never reached a human being. I emailed them twice. No response. Nothing. Silence. When the reclining seats showed up a decade ago, it felt like the future. And yes, I know people bring blankets because the AC is freezing (AMC even sells them in the lobby). But now I can confirm those recliners don't just have butts in them -- they have BUTT BUGS. This experience was so disgusting, so expensive, and so ignored by AMC that I honestly don't know if I'll ever step foot in a movie theater again. This place needs to be shut down and fully fumigated. Until then, consider this your warning: AMC Deptford has bedbugs. Stay far, far away.

How is it possible no one has ever written a review of Secret Cinema? (I mean, aside from the fact…read morethat it is Secret)? I hope that by being the first to review Secret Cinema I'm not somehow violating some unwritten rule of Secret Cinema: "The First Rule of Secret Cinema is...you don't talk about Secret Cinema." Secret Cinema is a labor of love of its founder and his wife (?) who have been showing vintage movies (on film only, never video, as they will proudly tell you) for well nigh on 20 years, in various locations around Philly. However, their more-or-less permanent home seems to be the cinema at Moore College of Art and Design on 20th and Parkway in Center City. Their programs are typically 1.5 -3 hours long and feature a wide range of rare, obscure, and generally neglected but culturally significant movies, shorts and cartoons. I think they do maybe 10 showings a year, usually Friday nights, and admission is only $6-7 per show, making it probably one of the best cheap date opportunities around. The breadth of the programs is truly astounding. In the few years I've been attending, I've seen everything from classic cartoons from the 30's (the politically incorrect kind), corny educational films from decades past (including one sex-ed film from the early 80's featuring coitus between immense puppet genitalia which made everyone in the audience squirm), to almost-lost home movies of the Velvet Underground, to Saturday morning kid's programs, to a Philly premiere of the works of an almost totally unknown 50's-60's director, J. X. Williams: I am still searching for words to describe that show... Jay, its MC and creator, clearly loves rare cinema and is himself an encyclopedic resource on each of the programs he compiles. He prefaces the shows with his own (somewhat monotone and sometimes seemingly interminable) intros in which he provides the context of what you are about to see. That said, the selections can be somewhat hit-or-miss. One showing, which featured a documentary about Scottish agriculture in the 1940's, left me scratching my head to find the entertainment value: I guess it was a bit more 80's-style irony than I was willing to take. Some others leave me cold, as, apart from the historic value, the entertainment value of some of the programs can be very low for someone who is not specifically interested in that very subject. In other words, the selections can veer into arcana from time to time. But, you go there to have your horizons broadened, not to see more of what you would otherwise see in the mainstream media. So on balance I guess it's a good thing. So kudos to these folks for putting on consistently interesting (if not entertaining) programs which are clearly outside the mainstream. And kudos for being squarely in the Philly DIY tradition and staying true to that ethic all these years. Go and check it out.

I've been to about 4 or 5 of these underground film events hosted by curator and film nut Jay…read moreSchwarz. There is a certain ritual to it - paying $8, listening to Jay's informative droning introductions, not knowing what to expect. Secret cinema is a tribute to the dying medium of film. It's only film- no vhs or digital. He rescues film reels from flea markets, garages, libraries and cobbles them together with a theme. Some of what he shows is ironic, hilarious and cringeworthy in its racial stereotyping. It's a history and cultural studies lesson doled out in 5-7 minute chunks. I refer to Jay as a mad genius and hope he remains that way. His obsession with film and opening rare finds to the public is a great service. Secret Cinema isn't widely advertised. Getting on the e-mail list is the best way to catch these semi-frequent (every month or two) events.
