Went to see Xmen today and the house was packed yet only 2 popcorn stations had attendants. Horrible! Bathrooms were disgusting with doors that don't latch, toilet paper on the floor everywhere, no hand towels in machine. The audience had a lot of rude folks. Never again!! Got tickets pre-ordered on fandango because the lines are long and service is pretty poor. After getting tickets, my friends and I went to purchase some popcorn and soda. We thought it would be a quick purchase since there was only one other person in front of us (we got into the shorter line too!). We got two sodas and a large popcorn and it took almost 10 minutes to get our order and pay. Concession prices never cease to amaze me - $18 for the sodas and popcorn. Some positives of the evening: Short line to get into the theater, seats were decently comfortable, uncrowded theater for an opening weekend which meant better seating options. Only slightly better than the typical Philly theater experience. But definitely appreciate the savings on the lower gas prices on our way back to the city. read more

My boyfriend and I ended up at this theater after going to the theater in Somerdale only to find it to be one of those reserve tour seats ahead of time situations. Pricing is relatively standard. The food is actually edible be enjoyable. What I will not understand is selling someone with an infant in their arms a ticket. There are literally 2 children in this theater (I write this as I wait for the previews, wondering how long I'll actually last in here-) who are so young that they're nonverbal. Ugh, I hate this movie theater...it is always SO packed, smells like pee mixed with buttered popcorn and humidity, and more than once I've been in the parking lot when there are ZERO spots. But...it's super close to my house, so if the Ritz (Rave, whatever) doesn't have the show I want to see, or if I wanna see something 3D, I will end up here. Boy was I not impressed with this theater in any way. Almost every aspect of this place had something that just wasn't up to a good standard. When my friend and I went to go purchase our tickets, the line to buy tickets from the casher intersected with the electronic booths to purchase tickets. It was less of a line, and more of just a grouping of people in a mosh pit. We bought our tickets at the electronic booth, but when I went to go up to the main area to see the showtimes, I could barley find them as they don't have good signage for them. Very poor labeling on what shows were playing at what times. Almost as soon as you walk out of one mosh pit of buying tickets, you walk into the next mosh pit of the concession stand. It's laid out so you immediately hit it after the tickets, but this also causes a cluster of people either A. trying to buy food and B. trying to just get to their movie. Once we made it past the masses, we started heading towards are theater down a long hall. I'm not sure if something was wrong with their signs or this is what they normally do, but the way you knew which theater had which movie was pieces of paper they printed out and posted on the doors. Literally something someone just typed up on Microsoft Word and printed out was the signage for the movies. I couldn't be less impressed, until I walked in to our theater to the garbage cans literally overflowing with trash, like it hadn't been emptied all day. Inside the actual theater I didn't have too much of an issue with. The seats were comfortable, and the theater wasn't any cleaner or dirtier than any other theater, so I guess that's a wash right? I was not impressed by this theater at all. The layout is a complete disaster and the signage has a lot of work to do. If the management here just put a few hours of thought and work into it, they could easily fix this place up, instead it turns into a nice theater that has been trashed up. Walked in 20 minutes before start time & the theater was still filthy. So since I was early I didn't think to much until 10 minutes later & still no staff came in to clean. Show time was 10:20 the staff came in at 10:15 to clean. They did a half a** job. I will never come back. It is in serious need of renovations. read more

They can be sticky sometimes, but most of the time they just smell stale. It's the closest one to our place and was right next door to us for 2 years, so it's become our go to. Lots of theatres. At first glance, the AMC Loews 24 in Cherry Hill has a lot going on for it. It houses 24 screens, has an IMAX, and has a great location. But as they say, never judge a book by its cover. As big as the theater is, it tends to get crowded. People seem to gather outside the doors and in the lobby for no other reason but to be loud and cause problems. When you first walk in you are taking back on how huge the place is. You walk into what feels like a grand lobby with all your movie times on a digital board. You almost feel like your at an airport looking for your flights gate and departure time. There are manual counters with zigzag lines and automatic ticketing kiosk, whichever your poison you will get equal customer service. As you continue into the theater there is a center food snack hub that offers all the standard theater fare. This creates a cluster on a busy night as people gather 360 degrees around the counter to order their snacks. This creates a sort of bumper-car-bumper-people scenario as you have to get past this cluster to get to your theater even if you have no interest in their snacks. Once you get through the long concession line and the long line into your preselected theater, you feel like the worst of it is over. But it's not. Throughout your viewing be prepared for talking, cell phone (facebook) use, and lack of respect. I've never been to a movie theater that's such an out of control mess as this one. Honestly, save your money and buy the DVD - your possible new favorite movie is not worth being ruined in this theater. read more

I will do my best to remember not to come back. AMC should do better. There are 3 other theaters in my area that are cheaper, cleaner, And have reserved recliners, unfortunately those other theater are no longer showing it because it's about a month old. When you take 6 kids to the movies you expect to be able to buy a couple drinks and have them share, however I was told they have no water cups for sharing. So I am either forced to buy them all $4-5 drinks or use condiment cups for them to share the drinks ( which is very disrupt during the movie and completely rediculous) . And no refills on large popcorn. I am not poor but I also can't go throwing my money around. I understand it's a business, however if you have to nickel and dime people I'd say it's a business not worth supporting. Next time I'll wait for DVD and have a house party. read more

My experience with this theater really varies depending upon the movie I'm going to see. Most of the negatives come from the customers, who tend to be a bit on the rude side. I've also seen a gang presence here on more than one occasion (because it's easy to get public transit here from Camden). I do not feel safe going here at night by myself, but I do go here on dates with my husband and with friends. That said, the customer service here ranges from average to great. Last time we were there, my husband got 'Dibs' treats and found that they were melted. He took them back and the counter guy discovered that the freezer in which they were stored was broken. He apologized and offered my husband some more expensive treats for no additional charge. We've also been here for movie premieres and sneak previews. They manage these crowds very efficiently. The design of the building makes lines move quickly when buying tickets are food and the Fandango kiosks are out of the way. You can also park BEHIND the theater on a crowded night to save time and stress, but I would not recommend it if you are by yourself or if it is not a busy movie night. The 3-D movie prices at this theater tend to be more expensive than at others, but matinee and regular movie prices are competitive. When I'm really serious about seeing a movie opening night, I try to avoid this theater if I can due to the loud crowds. (People also bring babies into rated R movies here.) Hearing people yell about their gangs in the middle of the last Harry Potter pissed me off, but I didn't want to get shot so I just kept my mouth shut and hoped Voldemort would eat them or something. read more

I can't believe I even came back to this theater. The seats are dirty and nasty. The theater smells. They did a remodel of the lobby and concessions years ago but that has since fallen off since now your feet stick to the floor. I know they can't control who patronizes the theater but at least keep it clean. People brought their small kids to an R rated movie. There was incessant talking and one lady even had the nerve to remove her shoes and hang her feet off the seat in front of her. There are great theaters in NJ and this one isn't it. I've had hits and misses here, and the misses outnumber the hits by far. It's the newest and most expensive theatre around and yet their A / V equipment is unreliable. On more than one occasion, I've had the sound or projection cut out completely while watching a movie. On one such instance, I could not believe how poorly they handled it. I seriously felt like I was on Candid Camera. it happened during the last 30 minutes of The Avengers. The sound cut out but the movie continued without it. The entire ending was about to be spoiled, so we left quickly to inform the staff, but there was already a manager waiting for us in the hallway. He told us "Don't worry, we're going to rewind it for you so you don't have to miss the ending! Just go have a seat, we'll get it all fixed". We were pleasantly relieved so we went back inside to have a seat. 5 minutes later, watching the silent film continuing to unfold before us, we started to realize we may have been lied to. We walked out again and told the manager (who was still waiting there) that it hadn't been rewound yet. He stammered a vague apology and said they were "working on some technical difficulties" but assured us that "we will rewind it soon". I told him that it was too late, the ending was already spoiled, so we had no interest in going back to see it a second time. So he asks us to follow him for some freebie tickets for my next visit(which I didn't even want; I just wanted to see my movie that night. Babysitters aren't always easy to come by!) This would've been almost acceptable, but here's the worst part: Two girls lined up for the same theatre we had just left. He told them "hold tight, we'll be starting your movie soon!" right in front of me! So I asked him, right in front of them, "Which is it? Are you going to fix the broken speakers and rewind the ending? Or start the next movie without any sound? Your stories don't match up, so which one of us are you lying to?" He stammered another apology (and admitted that they were starting the next movie, NOT rewinding the first one). He then gave us popcorn coupons. Whooptie doo. I don't want to sound entitled, it's not like I demanded anything at all. I really couldn't care less if they didn't give us any coupons, but I found this insulting after we had been lied to so many times. I would've rather heard an explanation for why they thought it was acceptable to lie to us to get us back in our seats. I just wish they'd be a bit more respectful and honest with their customers. Our date night was ruined and the management very obviously tried to placate us with whatever story they could come up with. And in the process, they spoiled the ending by convincing us to watch most of it silently under the false pretense that it would be fixed and rewound. If they had just told us the truth, we would've left and the ending would not have been ruined, and we would have had an earlier start for the remains of our evening. read more

But just because it's a busy night at the theater, how is is possible there is never a single clean stall to use in the ladies room? I mean, NOT ONE. I'm not OCD about bathrooms, I get that public ones get a lot of use, and well you get what you get. But seriously, with the amount of revenue they are bringing through the front door, can't they staff someone to be in charge of the restrooms during peak hours? We saw "Watchmen" in IMAX the day it came out and.... saying that I was dazzled by the theatre doesn't do it justice. The fact that the room we were in was able to comfortably accommodate a near-capacity crowd of fanboys (and gals) of varying degrees of devotion was undeniably impressive. Kudos, Loews. I love coming to this theater when ever I'm in south jersey. They have 24 show rooms with stadium seating, Dolby digital and 3D. The theater's are extremely clean and well maintained as well as the rest room. The concession stands are kinda slow, employees here very lazy. Minimum wait is atleast 3-5 minutes. They are very disorganized with lines all over the place. Prices are insane like everywhere else ie: $4.50 for a on freaking small bottle of water or a box of candy. Wtf??? Try to purchase tickets on line or thru the self service kiosks. Otherwise the lines are long and slow. This place is packed during the weekend's or night showings. If the customer service at the concession stands were better and the Prices slightly lower it would be a 5 star theater. read more

It's hard to give any theater over 3 stars really. This is your average suburban theater with ample/decent parking, showing every major film that's out. With that said, it's just about as "meh" in cleanliness as any other theater. Then again it's really not that bad, people who complain about this theater should really check out the UA Riverview 16 in South Philly sometime, I think that since all the other worse theaters have been demolished at this point that Riverview takes the cake for Philly's worst theater. However, I still am not adventurous enough to make it up to the Pearl on Broad since I heard it's awful and it'd be even out of the way/not worth it for me to head there. At any rate, back to Loews... decent theater with an IMAX. It's perhaps the closest IMAX for downtown/South Philly residents. So, it's often worth it to pay that $4 to get back home on top of an IMAX experience. read more

Ok, in agreement with all those that cite it's not the Ritz. The fact that it has 24 screens? Who cares. I'm there to see one movie, not 24. The snack bar has a fairly good selection, and the pour you own butter does allow for floatingly good extra salty heart-clenching multi-napkin popcorn. No one goes to movies for healthy treats, or they'd sell apples, so thank you for letting us be as bad as we want to be with the fake butter and salt ourselves to oblivion. The IMAX 3D experience is awesome. Yes, people are idiots bringing two year olds to these movies, but they're truly DB's when they don't take the crying children out. As my one friend says, break down and hire a babysitter. How I yearn for the days of ' No Children after 7pm'. The floors are clean, at least during the matinees. I don't go for late night shows. Seating is comfy and sound and picture were just fine. Not too hot or cold either. The men's room occasionally has a line after a show lets out, especially a longer one, but it moves quickly and most people deal with it well. A few more kiosks for printing your pre-purchased tickets would be nice. Oh - an unlike the tropicana, they DO NOT wash their 3D glasses after each use, so be prepared with some purell or something. read more

Before choosing this theater to see the Hangover 2 (which I won't even waste my time reviewing...that statement is a review in itself, really), I read a bunch of the reviews here on yelp. I'm truly amazed at how many people commented on the state of the bathrooms. I was expecting to go there and see outhouses based on the reviews here. Since I typically don't go to a movie theater with the lone reason of peeing, I didn't really care and bought my tickets on fandango. In typical "me" fashion, the second I got there I had to pee. After reading the reviews I was truly frightened. I even wore closed toed shoes in anticipation of a literal crap hole. Imagine my surprise when I walked in to find shiny, almost glowingly clean stalls. The only smell was that of cleaning supplies. I didn't even see a single square of toilet paper on the floor. I went again after the movie - same thing. Forget all the reviews that said otherwise - the bathrooms here are fine. Perhaps management has read the reviews themselves and made a change. The theater itself is pretty standard. We saw it in Digital Projection - I couldn't tell a difference from Standard, but I only go to the movies 2 or 3 times a year so perhaps I'm not the best judge. The quality and sound were great though. The only thing that irked me about this place is how big it is. I realize that is a selling point for some people but just like I don't go to a movie theater to pee, I also don't go to watch 24 movies - I go to watch one. In my opinion, the size here is a negative because it only creates crowds and long lines. Overall, pretty standard - I don't see any reason to not go back. read more

At peak times the theatre looks horrendous, the bathrooms are disgusting and the person who checks the A-List members doesn't verify your ID. Very disorganized management here. They were out of everything except for popcorn and drinks. What a cluster-f of an establishment this place is. I get mondays are slow, but you're a multiplex. There's going to be at least 20 people coming and going at any given time. So I come in, buy my tickets from a kiosk. Not sure why I paid, no one is ripping tickets. Couple employees milling about in and out of a store room in the front. The only guy I see working is at the snack booth. He's stuck ringing everyone up, then trying to run to the back to prepare things. It took him a few minutes to get to the register to help me and the customer in front of me. I finally get my order in, then the real waiting begins. I'll never understand why in a business where time is of the essence, it takes FOREVER to get through the snack line. I got pretzels, and I appreciate that they come out hot and fresh, but it needs to be fast. I have a movie to watch, and you certainly aren't holding the show for me. I walked around to the front and managed to find a couple "employees"; a girl with her coat in her hand and a guy laughing and flirting with her. Eventually he noticed the growing line at the concession and casually strolled over to help. Now, I've already waited in line to order, placed my order, made my drink, 3 other people ordered, i waited some more, made small talk wirh the guy that ordred before me about how ridiculous this is, I walked around looking for help, then the guy comes over to help and he starts my pretzels. Somehow, I got my order before the poor bastard in line ahead of me did. All that being said, get it together please. Get a manager who gives at least a little bit of a shit and keep an eye on things. This is my favorite theater in the area. I nearly always visit Loews for movies, mostly because I love the comfy stadium seating. Unless the person in front of me is wearing an obnoxiously tall hat, which has actually happened (*cough* Harry Potter 7 midnight show *cough*), I'm not too short to see over their head. There are tons of theaters in the complex, and the most popular movies are usually shown in at least two theaters, so there is not as long of a wait. I also love the fact that there are automated ticket booths, which come in handy when there is a huge crowd of people at the regular line. In addition, there is a ton of parking (including a lot around the back), plus this movie theater feels cleaner than most in the area (good bathroom amenities). The only thing I'm not crazy about are the concession prices... but then, what do you expect? It's the movies. Other than concessions, this is my go-to theater and I'm almost always pleased with my experience. read more

I like this theater. The seats are always good due to the seating arrangement. It's a very popular theater so make sure to get there plenty early. Seriously. There Is always a pretty long wait at the snack bar lines. My only complaint: For obvious reasons I can only speak of the mens room but the restrooms at this theater are always a disgusting mess. It's probably not the staff's fault. I think the real reason is that when men/boys enter this theater they are so excited to see explosions, guns and pretty girls that they completely forget how to lift up the toilet seat, aim, and pee. Instead, there is always, always, always, always, pee EVERYWHERE. On any given day there's at least an eighth of an inch of pee on the floor surrounding the toilet, pee is spattered on the stall walls and the toilet seats are 12 shades of splattered yellow- literally EVERYTHING is covered in pee. It's disgusting. Here's a tip, boys: if you can't manage to pee in the toilet without getting it everywhere, SIT DOWN and pee like the little girl that you are. read more
