Was there this afternoon for the 12:45pm showing of Five Nights at Freddys 2. This place is horrible! Was looking for the collectible Freddy popcorn bucket and was told that they sold out by Friday (there were only 3 showings, one Thursday night, one Friday night and an 11or so am showing today Saturday) no problem, it happens. We stopped by the little area were you get napkins and condiments and it was filthy! There was spilled popcorn, spilled soda(?), just nasty. Plus, they have their condiments (ketchup, mustard and relish) in the squeeze bottles that you'd have at home. That can't be sanitary or safe so we bypassed that! We get into the theater and the seats are old and need to be replaced. As soon as I sat down the cushion dropped straight to the frame like the padding was gone. It's just old and worn out. They let a lot of young people in who were under 18 by themselves and they talked loud throughout whole the movie!! They started talking before the movie started and never stopped, even though people were telling them to shut up. This theater is obviously a hangout spot for the local kids. The theater was FREEZING!! It was so cold I started shivering. I thought it was just me but my wife said she was cold as heck too. My feet got so cold it felt as if I was standing on a steel plate,my hands were so cold they started going numb so I had to blow on them. This is completely unacceptable. We'll never go back there again!! read more

For a newly converted AMC theater (and by newly converted, I mean years ago!!), this place is seriously lacking. It's sad honestly. We lived in Voorhees for 8 years and this was our go to place unless we decided to go to Cinemark in Somerdale which is far superior. This place just has the AMC name. The seats are garbage. The lobby looks like it's under construction at all times. The bathrooms are nasty. Either pump some money in that we know AMC has, or sell it off to another theater. I don't understand how this theater hasn't been updated in 30 years. Even the black and white photos on the walls are the same from 2000. No reclinable seats in the year 2024? Dirty bathroom stalls! Streaming movies and staying home has taken a toll on this 'theater'. They got one star because the staff was friendly and they had popcorn and ice for the drinks. Most of the soda machines were out of selections...so saying they have hundreds of drink choices is false. The curly fries for $6 was just sad. See the photo for how much we got in our order. I can tell that in the past this theatre must have been the go-to place for movies. It has all the looks and infrastructure of a classic movie theatre, but as time passed it lost its sheen. I have been coming to AMC Voorhees more consistently recently and at first fell in love with the place because it was objectively better than AMC Cherry Hill, but realized that it has many flaws. Much of my criticism comes from the upkeep of this place. I'm sure back when this theatre first opened it was pristine, but that's not the case anymore. If AMC Voorhees underwent a thorough cleaning, aesthetic touch up, and even AMC's signature reclining seats, I would be coming here way more frequently than I do the one that's 5 minutes from my house. Having said that, I will say what I love most about this place is the selection of films they offer. I constantly find that this AMC location will carry more limited release films compared to the Cherry Hill and Marlton locations. For example, if you are more of an avid movie-goer and want to see select films that are nominated for the Oscar's best picture, more often than not you would be able to see it at AMC Voorhees. Recently, some of the films I was able to see were: the black and white version of "Nightmare Alley," the critically acclaimed animated documentary "Flee," and my favorite movie of 2021 "C'mon C'mon." This place has gone so downhill over the past several years. When it first opened as the Ritz, we brought European visitors who were awed by the fancy food selection and upscale seating. This past weekend, several friends and I chose a movie being shown at the largest theatre. We had to pick our seats - don't know why since there was about 3% seats filled. The minute you walk in, the mustiness hits your nose. The next two hours, my eyes felt irritated and the others in my row kept coughing from the air. Our seats were uncomfortable and my friend swore hers was actually broken. Waste of my money. read more

I'm spoiled by the AMC's that have the luxury oversized seats, UNLIKE THIS ONE. What salvages this location is their huge, pretty lobby with many choices - even specialty coffees. Yes, they're overpriced but, name a theater that isn't really. I enjoy watching movies, but dislike going out to the theaters anymore. With all the technology that has been out for years, I prefer to watch a movie at home in my theater, without the distraction of other people, kids, cell phones, talking, etc. This theater is, and has been a great place to see a film on the big screen. There is ample parking with easy access to the entrances. The lobby is spacious with comfortable couches and chair seating. They have your typical movie snack//concession area, but the lobby also has a kewl coffee bar for the coffee lovers out for a film binge. Wednesdays here feature $5.35 discount tickets, be sure to take advantage if you can. The theater is equipped with closed captioned technology in every auditorium for select features. The area sports a ton of dining options to choose from before or after your movie. All in all, for a big screen experience you cant go wrong at the Ritz 16. Yea, it is not as fancy as some of the newer theaters, but if I want that, I stay home and enjoy my setup! read more

We went to two different movies in two different theaters over the weekend. Both theaters and the hallway all smelled very stale, moldy or even... dare I say it - like old people pee. I spent half the movie with my nose covered up and I'm sorry, a few scented plug ins are not going to help. The only plus side is that they do offer some of the harder to find international movies, so I was grateful to catch two UK movies this weekend. read more

I've had some good experiences here but recently John Wick Chapter 4 was projected out of focus. I told staff 15 mins before the show started properly, while the trailers were playing. They did not correct it. Nicole Kidman was still lookin blurry. When the film starts and the opening "hero shot" of Keanu was still blurry looking I left the cinema enraged and got my money back. The seats are outdated and other things were not up to par. When it was the Ritz - Voorhees it was a better maintained theatre.

An old school movie theater with regular seats and no reserved seating. The upside is that this means that you make last-minute plans to see a movie. No specialty concessions but they do have a coffee bar when you first walk in which is nice. I didn't smell mold or odors so I wonder if that is limited to certain screens. read more

The only thing holding back the fourth star are the outdated non reclining seats. I'm not an avid moviegoer but have to admit that the new seats in many theaters can make the experience better. The auditorium we viewed WW in was large and the sound was pretty good. The lobby and bathrooms are pretty swanky, lots of chrome, black vinyl and marble and tile. I felt like I was in a casino. There was a nice lounge area in lobby and throughout the walls were filled with real movie posters and memorabilia. The few employees we interacted with were friendly and helpful. This movie theater and I go way back. It used to be part of the Ritz group and it always had a very arty, coffee house vibe. Now, it's part of the AMC fam so the feel has changed a bit. While the concessions are solid, the rest of the theater is not on par with other area AMCs that have been upgraded. Still, this is one of the better options in South Jersey for catching a flick, and one of my preferred theaters if I'm rolling solo. Fingers crossed for some upgrades! read more

The theater is quite large and spacious which is very nice and pleasing but....... In the middle of the movie I was enjoying in theater one, I noticed in the corner of my eye a mouse running up the steps by the light....... A little while later my friend noticed a mouse on her side of the theater....... Was going to show a photo of the bathrooms (dirtiest place I saw at the location) but they're so awful I couldn't bring myself to do it. Needs a deep clean and some TLC to restore it to its original beauty. Ten years ago, it was a great destination..a place for a night out everyone could look forward to, with a homemade dessert area, a warm and comfortable lobby with several seating areas and reading materials for those who wanted to extend their night out, and clean, full theaters. The theater has gone down drastically since the glory days of the Ritz. You are not likely to find arty movies, as the dreadful selection of superhero and mindless action movies generally fill the bill. We were lucky to find a movie to watch yesterday, however there was a problem before we could even be seated. After showing the ticket taker the receipt on my phone, the young women vaguely said the theater is 'on the left' and gave the seat number. We immediately noted the lack of information as to which theater was showing which movie. There were no signs to indicate which movies were playing in which theater. In addition, there were not even any posters whatsoever. When we returned to the woman to ask the correct theater, she told us the correct theater and made a vague statement that 'this is a bad year for movies!. i find it hard to believe that the meager cost of lighting the small movie signs would bankrupt AMC. Even so, small inexpensive posters should be available. The problems continued in the theater; there was an endless display of ads even before the previews. Long gone were the days of the Ritz when all you saw were tasteful pictures accompanied by classical music, and you were also given informative booklets describing the movies to read. The actual start time as almost 30 minutes after the advertised start. AMC has succeeded in virtually ruining the movie experience. read more

I really enjoy going here. I understand other people's complaints about the seating. I totally understand it. However, let me point this out. For the value of the ticket ($8 on most shows) and the specials it has ($5 Tuesdays for Stubs members and $5 5 p.m. shows every day), this is the best theater around for the value. If they put in the seating as everyone wants, I fear the prices will go through the roof. That is what happened at the AMC in Deptford. Nearly every ticket there is $13. There are no matinee, bargain ticket pricing. Yes, you get your big comfortable seats with no divider armrests to hug your honey and the reclining sofa, but you will pay for it. I would rather have the discounts instead of the comfortable sofa seating. read more

I went to this theater for the first time today. I had a decent experience but I am bummed out that this amc location doesn't have the modern updates or new recliners. I even looked up this location and nowhere on their website did it state the lack of updates because if it did I wouldn't have bothered coming to this location. Old seats and not having the ability to recline will prevent me from coming to this location again, especially because the lack of proper information is misleading on the website. It's also confusing as to why you even have the ability to choose seats when there is no purposeful trade off. I don't expect the best of everything but we do live in 2019 and it's a bummer to not be able to enjoy the modern luxuries. read more

Ritz Center 16 is one of the few theaters around that doesn't have reserved seating, which definitely makes it easy for last minute planners. This means that the tickets are cheaper too, usually a few dollars less than the reserved seats theaters. The snacks are decently priced too, but I was disappointed last time I went. It was late at night and the popcorn we got was clearly the leftovers and it was all crumbs. The theater itself is not bad (although I did forget how weird it is to not have reclining seats).They are huge so there is plenty of seating- we were able to get good seats toward the back coming in right at the movie start time for a popular movie that was sold out at other theaters. The parking lot is really big too so don't expect to have to walk too far. PRO TIP: movie tickets are only $5 all day on Wednesdays!!! read more

This movie theater serves its purpose. It's the only AMC I know without recliners and they still have you pick where you want to sit as if there are recliners. It has a really pretty lobby though but other than that it's your standard movie theater. The location is nice because it's near a few places to go out to eat with all different varieties so it's a nice location for date night. read more
