This is forreal forreal the BEST movie theater IN THE WORLD! Cmon now $2 for pretty recent movies....and $4 for 3D? No complaints here. My boyfriend also has no reason not to pay either...so so soooo cheap. Huge parking lot outside and there's almost never a wait. I don't even bother buying food at the concessions stand (but I do anyways). There's a CVS right next to the theater. Seriously, this movie theater is absolutely amazing. I hope it never closes down. Here's a tip though...don't go past 10pm. If you do...you won't really have many movies to choose from. read more

I have been here three times now and different theaters every time. The seats are all new, but not full recliners. I didn't have a problem getting comfortable in them and they even have heated seat option on them. No full bar yet. Seems to have the area and you can see the bottle and taps, but nothing yet. The only downfall of this place is the cleanliness. Most of the trash bins are full. Tons of food on the floors and the soda area is a mess. They need to do more clean up and also with new restrooms there is always a toilet/urinal broken. Not sure why they keep posting the bathroom pics on Facebook when the theaters are so nice. I guess this place was a cheap theater, but the AMC makeover is worth it and with the A-List pass it makes it even better. read more

Awesome remodel! Looks and feels great; just like the other fancy AMC's, but on a much smaller scale. Better food (duh), bar opens soon- within the next week or so. Heated & reclining seats (not fully but you can sit back with your feet up. See pic). Prices are not super cheap/bargain anymore, but still better than other modernized AMC's- think Fullerton Dine In or Norwalk, etc.- @ only $10.99 for adults (see pics for various ticket prices) and $4.99 for matinee shows!!! AMC La Mirada is my favorite movie theater. I have come to this theater ever since it was Starplex La Mirada. I love the fact that AMC La Mirada is still playing Bad Boys for Life. I think that I have watched Bad Boys for Life three times so far. The seats inside the movie theater are very comfortable. I actually like the fact that when I am watching most movies at AMC La Mirada, I practically have the whole theater to myself. I like that I can buy alcohol after 4 pm. read more

I often associate this theater with an impromptu Vegas trip... but that is a whole different story... Just $2.00 per movie for sorta-recent releases (avg. 2-3 months since release date). Theater carries great variety of movie genres--from Black Swan to Tangled to The Fighter. Something for everyone. However, you do get what you pay for. The theatre room I was in was not cleaned from the previous movie showing and I was very disappointed. There were masks, trash, and popcorn all over the floor. The cup holder of my seat was wet and sticky! At first, I thought I was in the wrong room but nope, it was the correct one. This was my first time experiencing an uncleaned room when watching my next movie. On the bright side, the staff is very friendly and easy to talk to but the cleaning of the theatres needs to be addressed! read more

Two bucks for a recent movie like the Bourne Legacy - hell yeah! Parking was easy to find BC it's located in a large shopping center. The seats seemed to be fairly new and comfortable. This theather has 7 screens and for 3d movies will set you back an extra $2.00 This theater seems to be doing well BC the theather was packed for the 6:30 pm show. The audience was made up of all ages and was well behaved so everyone could enjoy the fiick. Tip - Tuesdays are half price and only $1:00 per ticket! read more

Came here to watch the Spy Who Dumped Me, the movie was good but the seats sucks. It reclines but barely, seat warmer was not really necessary when you're sitting there for a long period of time. They should've took the heated seats away and make the seat recline more. The theater was small, didn't even think it was an AMC until we got up closer. I would glady drive to a farther location for better seats. Its still better than standard fixed seating but hence why 3 stars not one. Restrooms are good and plenty of parking. read more

Yup, first time there was this past weekend. I was surprised it was so clean! Can't beat the $2 price but be advised that parking is horrible. Not just the packed lot but the tiny size of the spaces. I drive a small compact car, and I had a really hard time squeezing in a space that was between two compact cars who were in the middle of their spaces. I'm not fat either and had a hard time sucking it in so I can squeeze out of the car. I practically wiped down the side of my car and the car next to me. Ugh I would probably come back if I was with my friends in the area, but I would rather go to the Irvine one where you get the same experience without the tight parking. read more

AMC has RUINED La Mirada 7 My retired parents would come here for date nights every so often. Yesterday I brought them here to watch Despicable Me 3. I was expecting to pay $1.99 or maybe $2.99 because it was a later show time but no. Ticket prices for adults AND seniors before 4:00pm are $4.99 & after 4:00pm are $6.99. What happened to senior discounts?! Especially since most retired seniors are on a fixed income. Prices have certainly increased. Concessions are typical AMC prices. Goodbye dollar hot dogs and $3 popcorn. Nothing budget-friendly here anymore. Sad to see an affordable era come to an end. "This is almost half the price of some theaters." Yes, but I can go to other theaters with better screens, better audio quality, much more comfortable chairs, and cleaner larger theatres. We won't be going back. It's Netflix and Redbox (which is right outside of Albertsons) movies for us! read more

A real bargain for $1.50. This is sort of like a second run movie theater where movies can't played at the main cinemaplex anymore. Where it might be popular for several weeks or month, it is sent to purgatory here, before it enter the heaven or hell we like to call DVD or movie channels. The movie I went to see was Me, You, and Dupree. Don't friggin' ask. I don't know why anyone would chose this. Oh yeah, it's because it's $1.50 per person on weekend. I'm guessing this movie was a flop and sent to purgatory in a quick hurry. Ventured a guess that Snakes on a Plane will be here in a week or two. The theater was probably a big time multiplex back in the 80's and early 90's before it see second life as a second-run theater. There's no way in hell this theater can charge full price admission of $7.50 -$10 @ night. So, a $1.50 for night time price is AOK with me. The screens are small, I went to check on every auditorium. The popcorn and drinks are what is keeping this theater alive and kicking. The theater was way understaffed in the weekend, so there will be a mini line forming to the ticket window. Don't get a high expectation as you going to get a smaller crammy seats. The screens will be small and the stereo sound will be marginal. But for $1.50 each movie, that is a real bargain for today's ticket prices. It's still cheaper than renting the DVD. read more

AMC La Mirada 7 - Cinema Near Me - La Mirada, California

No. Just no. The seats are so uncomfortable and force you to watch the screen from an awkward angle. ALSO, I just saw "joker" there with my friend and we were terrified. A man sitting next to my friend (who was talking to himself), touched his hand (figured it was an accident, since you share an armrest). THEN he touched my friends leg and then disappeared. Awhile later we see him laying across the chairs. It was terrifying. I had to use the restroom and didn't want to leave my seat because I had no clue where this man was wondering. Another man got up 6 times to refill his soda. This theatre is uncomfortable, and just scary. I will not go back and I recommend being careful if you do go. read more

This place is awful! When I got there they had no one at the ticket both to let us in. Finally for someone to come. The theater they sent us too wasn't even playing the movie and when I told the AMC personal she came back and told us that they had a power outage up the street and nothing was playing, how were you not aware of this when you sent me to the empty theater. And I heard a movie playing in the theater next door. Never again would I come back to this theater. read more

I am really surprised that AMC put their name on this place. It is great that they show first run movies at a cheap price, but the problem is, the employees just really don't seem to give a damn about the place. Yesterday, I went to see the first showing of Winchester. It started at 11 a.m. I arrived at 10 a.m. Other movie theaters let you in about a half hour before the movie starts. While I was standing outside with two other people, this girl, an employee, walks up to the door to be let in. We asked what time they opened. Her response was, "I don't know." One of the people that was waiting said, "You work here and you don't even know what time you open?" When someone came to let her in, we asked the same question of him. He said they open at 10 minutes after 11. He then said, "There are 20 minutes of previews so you won't miss your movie." Like I said, just give a damn. This place used to be the dollar movie theater and it was trashy then. I was hoping with AMC's name on it, things would get better, but they haven't. In my view, it would be better to close this place down rather than have AMC's name soiled. read more

Why is this an AMC? The young men at the concession stands were making comments under their breaths, calling each other out on task, the "security guard" was pointing and laughing at people walking into the movies. When the young men (3 of them were helping to get my popcorn and drink) finally got our order correct, We found my way to the theater and seats. We choose to do a 3D (only movie showing at that time) only to have the movie restarted in 2D due to protector issues. The seats are not comfortable at ALL!! People behind me kept bumping my seat. It was not a pleasant movie night, kids were annoyed. We did get passes for a future show. We definitely will NOT be coming back to La Mirada AMC though. read more

Clean and convenient theater close to home. However, tonight wasn't the best experience. Decided to watch a movie during the week with so far just my wife and another person in the theater. One of the workers helping me at the counter waited until I had bought my tickets and popcorn to tell me I can't bring my Starbucks. (small coffee, was on the counter the entire time so she could have told me way earlier) Afterward, a couple came in with Cold Stone and another worker let them in without any questions asked. I then asked that worker what their policy is, and she said to just be discreet. At the same time, the worker who had told me I couldn't bring my drink in came back and probably overheard. She hovered around me and my wife as we prepared our popcorn to make sure I didn't bring my drink in. Terrible start to our movie experience. Will probably go to another theater next time with better, and consistent service. read more

The recliner chairs are very awkward. They do no recline back very far and the foot rest only goes up a little bit. Very uncomfortable. By the time the move was over I was stiff and ready to stretch. Because of the poor design I probably will not go back. The sound system is decent but you can here other movies playing in the theater next to you. read more

Saw Jumanji this afternoon. The pros: Cheap tickets for first run movies, decently priced concessions. Clean. This is my go-to place for movies with my sister or with friends :) These movies are cheap because they show movies right before they go into syndication (i.e. netflix, hulu, etc.) PRO: -Tuesdays $1 and $2 every other day -3-D movies are $4 (watched the Lorax here in 3D) -Seats were recently modified... they are much comfier now -$1 hotdogs (other stuff is priced similarly to other standard theatres) -They don't check your purse like other theatres meaning.......... munch munch munch CON: -Small selection of movies & movie times -Finding parking near the theatre can suck -Lots of kids... which can get annoying -People come in during the first 5 minutes of the movie which can block the view. Not all screens are huge nor do they have rows that descend steep enough so that people don't get in the way when they're moving in and out. -Looks kind of ghetto... they need to restructure this place! -FYI... this is NOT a date spot. Even though my CON list is lengthier than the PRO list, this theatre joint still gets 4 stars because of how freakin' cheap it is AND because they have comfy and newer seats! I tend to rate based on my overall experience including the ambiance, decor, staff, cleanliness... but for the Starplex Cinemas, it really doesn't matter. You go in, pick a movie, pay $1-$4 depending on day/whether it's 2D or 3D, get a $1 hotdog if you feel like it or regular movie treats at regular movie treat prices, you find a seat, enjoy, and leave the theatre liking or hating the movie but not caring because it was only a couple bucks. Bottom line is, you don't have to spend $9-$11 to watch a movie at a threatre EVERY single time! Those days are over, my friends, those days are finally over. read more

Did you miss that blockbuster you wanted to watch really badly? Well this place will most likely have that movie for just $2 a seat. Such a bargain! I didn't get to see 2012 the movie and they had it here. I didn't expect much but Im happy to report that my first time is pretty ok and I will likely come back. Wow, this spot is pretty awesome! Hidden in a little strip mall in La Mirada you can watch films on the big screen for $2 and $1 on Tuesdays! The movie selection usually includes films that have been out for awhile and about to go to video. So, consider this your last chance spot! It's a small cineplex with only 7 theaters, but really does have a pretty good selection! They even show 3D movies, but that's at an extra cost! The theaters are average to small, but clean and the staff is friendly! The snack bar offers $1 hot dogs and other favorites such as nachos and popcorn. The prices are a bit high considering it's a dollar theater, so there's a give and take. I've been here a couple of times and would go back again! Looking for a cheap movie night out, this is a good spot to hit. You can catch a move that you missed when it first came out and still enjoy it in a theater setting. I also liked that they had late night showings. We came here on Friday Night and It was pretty busy. Lots of families out with their kids, couples on dates and groups of teenagers. Its a clean establishment, the bathrooms are well kept and although the theater itself was a little small, the seats were comfortable. It also had good sound and picture quality. One thing that was a little bummer for me, was they didn't show any previews or any type of pre-show stuff. They had that movie trivia information playing, but when it was time to start the movie, they went right into the movie. I kinda like the pre-movie/preview stuff. The popcorn was good. My first impression was, "Hey guys, is this place safe?" If you can wait a few weeks to watch a movie, then this place is definitely worth the buck. Okay, so it's not as "clean" or "fancy" or "good quality" as other movie theaters. But I give it four stars because...um...you're paying $2.50 for a movie! So you're gonna get what you pay for. Compared to other "dollar" theaters I've been to though, it's one of the better ones. By the way, it's $1.00 on Tuesdays. I say you can start complaining if you're paying full price of $12-$14, but for the price you pay, it's seriously worth it. I have not had a bad experience every time I've been here. My friends and I used to go watch a movie here practically every week in high school. We would go here when we'd rather spend that money on a nice dinner afterwards. A lot of the students from Biola University nearby take advantage of this place, and I can see why. A college student's wallet doesn't exactly have as much "luxury" when you're going out everyday like its the weekend. I'd much rather spend my money on good food, so if that means waiting a few weeks but still being able to watch the movie on big screen, then dollar theater is the way to go. I've been coming here for years and have always been a fan of this place. Lately though, we haven't given this theater as much attention as we'd like (8 month hiatus or so) due to wanting to watch the big movies on opening weekend for $5 etc. But we realized we missed so many other movies and by the time we remember them, it's arrived at the dollar theater. So we came to watch Oblivion yesterday! Woot $2 per head! What impressed us the most was the upgrade in seat material. It's still the same non-stadium seating but they've upgraded the upholstery from crappy fabric material that gets easily stained and ripped to a faux leather type that was squishier to sit on. Huge improvement. There are some spots on the screen that you'll notice on "bright moments" that needs to be wiped down but eh $2 on a big screen! And $1 hotdog! There may be some people unfamiliar with the "smell" of the place, but seriously you can't beat this deal. There's a CVS down the way to grab candies/snacks too! I'd avoid the rest of the restaurants in the plaza though. The sushi and mexican place was completely mehhhhhhhhhh for me. read more

Just came here and left without even seeing a movie... My husband went to buy tickets and was told that he would have to pay for our two babies (1 and 2) who were sleeping and who were going to be sitting on our laps. I was definitely not happy about this, as the kids would not be watching the movie or occupying any space so what are we paying for?? I understand that this is a budget movie theater but it would have ended up costing me the same amount to go to a regular theater where I dont have to pay for my kids and the theater is much more comfortable with a bigger screen. I asked for a refund and was told they don't give refunds, although this was not posted anywhere or stated by the cashier before we bought the tickets. I ended up arguing my case with the manager who was extremely rude and banned me from the cinema for pressing for a refund. I was not being offensive or aggressive at all, I just would not take no for an answer as they had not made it clear at any point before we purchased the tickets that they did not do refunds. Needless to say we would not be coming back even if I hadn't been banned. read more

This is by far the worst movie experience you will ever have. Do not go here if you were taught any kind of manners by your parents. I do not understand why low prices have to = no manners but that's what you get here. Let me list my observations based on 3 movies at this theatre: 1. many in theatre feel like they are at home in their living room and hold conversations throughout the movie. And I don't mean whisper. I mean regular full volume conversations. And not just a couple of people. I mean 1 out of 10 at least. 2. Idiots who have to check their facebook on their phones every few minutes. The backlight from those little phone screens are very distracting. 3. Selfish parents who feel that their baby crying through a movie adds to the movie viewing experience. Who the hell brings a baby to a movie? Minus these things the place is not bad. $2 for a movie and the seats were recently upgraded. However, the problems mentioned above make watching a movie here impossible to enjoy. I would advise going to the Cinema City Stadium Theatres in Placentia. Matinee prices are $6 I believe. So it costs a little more but the audience is not so low brow and have some home training. read more

Now if you are looking for an economical way to spend the day or evening this is the place to find it. Some of the seating and floors in the theatre are a bit sticky, I know!But I always take a miniature can of germ spray and hand sanitizer in my purse. :) So okay, if you are a woman alone in the theatre before the movies starts and a sketchy looking guy walks in wearing a long rain coat...You may get a bit anxious. Pull out your cell phone and pretend you are talking to someone or pull out the pepper spray, mace and rape whistle from your purse, make sure sketchy guy sees you are well armed. :) Just kidding with is review, the place is safe and not all that scarey or germy.
