Small and simple. Clean concessions. Theatre rooms could use more cleaning and deodorizing. Some of the seats were not working/reclining so I notified a staff member but no one came in to inspect them at the beginning of the movie. I wouldn't come here again. It's a really small AMC. Restrooms are located before you check-in with the person for your ticket. So, if you want to use the restrooms, do it before you actually go into the theaters. Seating arrangements are the worst. The chairs doesn't lean far enough back and the leg rest doesn't come as much as other AMC theaters I went to. What's worse is that if you sit in the 3rd row, which I did (in the seating map, it's supposedly the middle row compared to the whole seating arrangement), your neck will be really strained from looking up in the movie screen!!! NOT comfortable at all!!!! I feel bad for those who sat in the front rows ahead of me. No wonder all the back seats are filled first before the middle to front rows. The theater is updated and a good local theater but the movies never start on time!!! They frequently start up to 20min late. No previews, no ads, just a lit up room. The kids working here are frequently not paying attention to what's going on. Tonight is the 4th time I've had to go out and tell them to start the movie. This time the movie was supposed to start at at 6:45 and it is now 7:00pm and has not started l, despite going out there to tell them- and they asked... what time was the movie supposed to start? 7:10p- movies started, guess what, it was the wrong movie!!! Came here to watch the last showing of a weeknight of Glass (bad movie) weeks after the release. After milking MoviePass and it flaming out as a business, I love using AMC A-List to see 3 movies a week, even knowingly going to see bad ones like Glass. Hey, it did ok in terms of box office revenue. AMC La Mirada is the dollar theater of the AMCs. The selection is sparse. So forget about independent movies. Their offerings are pretty cheap. You can snag a $5 ticket for the first showing on a weekday. Not too useful for A-List when all screenings cost the same thing but great when you pay for someone else. The nice thing about AMC is that you can reserve a seat through their app and see how many people are going to watch the same screening. On this night, nobody else was going to watch it. Is the movie that bad? So entering the building, the ticket checker is not at the concession stands or near the front door. The ticket checker is usually up the ramp near the screens. Except there's nobody manning the station! Ooh, this could have been a free movie. I want a refund on my reservation now. Lol. So unsurprisingly, nobody's in the auditorium and nobody else shows up throughout the movie. Can pick any seat. The auditorium is pretty flat and level. This means that the person sitting in front of you can block your view. The steps are very small steps to reach the front unlike other AMCs where you actually have to climb stairs to reach your seats and there are walls dividing each row. No dividing walls or steep steps here. So less privacy and a worse view of the screen. The seats themselves are recliners but they don't seem to recline as far back as other AMCs. Fortunately, they are heated heats unlike any of the other AMCs in the area (Puente Hills, Orange, Norwalk). It's 1 am. Movie's thankfully finally over. I walk out and there is just nobody around. A fleeting moment to go hog wild at the concession stand passes. Now there's a movie idea- Home Alone redux at an empty AMC! Nice little theatre with relaxing chairs. It's conveniently located near us and I definitely recommend this place to local friends.

Quick review: Good: cheap tickets. Order online but hate the convenience fee. Yah I know stubs... Bad: theater 4, the projector is low quality. Super pixelated so much that I can see the little blocks. The day I went seems red and green is shifted out of sync so certain shots and frames show red or green. The screen is a bit too high so your neck needs to angle up from row d which is center row. Seats are nice but need to recline a few degrees more. read more

Seats are recliner, heated & comfortable. My only complaint would be that there is only one line to purchase tickets & order food. When it gets crowded you will wait in line for a while. You could purchase tickets online but they charge a convenience fee. They need to open a ticket kiosk separately. read more

Going to the movies has become exponentially expensive each passing year. By the time we watched The Dark Knight in IMAX at Spectrum in 2008, tickets and popcorn came up to $60.00 for the two of us. On occasions we had dinner before a movie, there went 5 Hour and ~$150.00. So, we started skipping movies we felt did not merit an extravagant fare. We searched for alternatives and La Mirada Dollar Theater popped up. Movies typically end up at this theater after their 4-8 week run at Edwards, Regal or AMC. So, we started frequenting this business ever since 2008 to save $$'s. Pros: Very inexpensive tickets. $2.00/person on shows before 6 PM. $3.00/person on shows after 6 PM. $4.00/person on 3D movies. Affordable food. Popcorn, drink, hotdog, and a complimentary chocolate all for $11.75. One free refill on their large popcorn bucket. Cons: Popcorn used to taste a little weird compared to a Regal or AMC movie. However, after years of not visiting Regal or AMC, the popcorn here tasted OK when we watched Jurassic World recently. As long as going to AMC/Edwards/Regal costs an arm and a leg, we will keep watching movies at the La Mirada 7. read more

Love this little movie theater. Parking was easy to find. The theater is clean and the employees here are super friendly compared to many of the other AMCs. It is a more mature staff that cares about the patrons. Great customer service seem to be harder to come by these days at movie theaters and fast food. I will start supporting this place even though it is not the most convenient location for us. The price of tickets are also lower than other AMC too, even for new release like Small Foot. My first time to this theater and it was not that great. The only good part was the ease of purchasing tickets on Fandango and the movie we saw. 1. Only one person working the snack bar and there was a long line; 2. Popcorn was stale; 3. A lot of the self-serve beverages were out; 4. The seats!. OMG...THE SEATS ARE TERRIBLE. They advertise the reclining seats, but they hardly go back at all and the foot rest portion only goes up a couple of inches. The seats are really narrow too! The worst part was that the controls are on the inside of the arm rest, so every time you move your thigh hits the controls. Not very comfortable at all. Sorry, won't be going back to this theater. Overall this is a pretty decent theater. I use to come to this theater when it was the dollar theater and it's definitely had a full remodel. The theater itself was very clean and the staff was all very friendly. The reclining chairs at this theater were not the best as the did not recline much at all compared to most AMC's I've been too but this theater does have heated seats which was a big surprise. I love being an A-lister and being able to jump to different theaters and see up to 3 movies per week and this theater is another great spot. I don't always go to this theater in particular but like all AMC's I'm never disappointed when I do. read more

****AUDITORIUM 4 seat C6 HAS BED BUGS!!!! Purchased some tickets to go watch JOKER last night. Had not problems upon arrival. I Sat down and watched some previews.. everything was fine. Until i felt a slight pinch on my neck. I shrugged it off and continued to watch the movie. Then i felt another pinch on my chest, i Was curious to see what was bugging me so i went to the restroom took off my sweater and noticed SIX BED BUGS !!!!! SIX BIG ASSSSSSSD BED BUGS in my sweater. I was disgusted especially since i had to put my sweater back on to leave the AMC because i had no undershirt! I wish i could of taken pictures but i was just so anxious to get them off of my clothes. I got a refund and told the crew member and manager what had happened and they didnt even bother to apologize nor did they care! They need to do something about this problem because i was not the first person or the last to sit in that seat. So they are just spreading bugs from seat to house!!! My PREGNANT girlfriend wanted date night. She finally had the courage to leave the house and get over her self consciousness and be seen in public. I looked online and saw they had a 9:10 pm showing for a movie we wanted to watch "the way back" Just to clarify, that wasn't the last movie playing, there was a 10:30 movie playing later. We got to the door around 9:08 pm. Maybe right around 9:10pm. We pulled on ALL the doors. All locked. I peeked inside and there was a guy and a girl working. I knocked slightly to see if I could get their attention. They didn't look. I started knocking harder... nobody came to the door. They were talking and laughing and the girl even walked across the lobby and didn't even look towards me knocking. I was so furious I wanted to kick the door in. My PREGNANT girlfriend got up, got dressed, did a little make up to be treated like this?!? Again, even if we were barely on time for the movie.. there were LATER films available. So not sure why ALL the doors were locked. I'm so pissed I never leave bad reviews but I had to today. I hope management or corporate looks up the cameras you will see me peeking in knocking and being ignored on March 11,2020 9:10pm pacific time at this location. These people deserve to be fired. If something happened, the least they could've done was come to the door and just say they were closed as an emergency. I would've been fine. But they ignored the knocks. read more

Beware seats C5 C6 C7 C8 in theater 3 don't work. Buttons are broken, seats don't heat up. Sadly it's probably from misuse but customers are paying and all the chairs should be checked regularly and fixed when broken. I do enjoy going to this theater overall. These seats do not recline like the other AMCs. They barley lean back and have a strange heater that turns on if you touch the button accidentally. The theater rows are built basically flat and so it's hard to see over the other chairs. If you don't sit in last two rows your neck will statin for sure. We have gone to a few movies here to try to save money but decided we won't be back. Last two times they forgot to start the movie and we had to find an employee to tell them to start it. Also the air conditioning has been broken several times. They at least handed out free passes to the whole Theater las time because it was so hot. AMC should have spent more money on better seats and Rows where you can actually see. Plus staff doesn't seem to care at all. No one consistently checking tickets. Strange. read more

I used to go here when they showed the older movies for like $2-3 which was great. I saw that they remodeled so I was excited because I'm an AMC premiere member so I go to all their theaters and I gave this place a shot a couple weeks ago. I think there's something about the Feng shui of this theater that is just off. It's really weird right when you walk in. And when you exit, you can't see the men's restroom right away. Finally, and I'm sure everyone's been saying this - the seats don't recline all the way back! Major loss there and it's the reason I won't be coming back. The seats are comfortable too, but we wanna lean all the way back - especially if we're sitting near the front! Seems like whoever did the remodel was trying to cut costs and we definitely notice it. I have tried to make this place my home place for movies but every time I come there is always an issue. This last visit I have had enough of this place! So my wife and I come here, mind you our movie starts at 10:30. We get here around 10:10, doors don't open until after 10:20a! There is a long line behind us. I order my typical pretzel bites. (10:24a) I tell my wife to go sit so she doesn't miss previews. 10:32 now. They shout two order numBers. I saw one couple take their order and tell the associate there my number. She said she gave it to the previous couple. They never asked for their receipt. She tells me I'm going to have to wait so they can remake them, and offered free candy. I hOnestly couldn't take it anymore and asked for my refund. I'm so done with this place! I don't ever get this treatment with Regal Cinemas! The way I see it ANYONE can walk up to the counter and say that's my number and take other people's food! I'd rather drive 10 min out of my way. read more

This theatre is so old and outdated, waste of money. The screen didn't have the right brightness, the theatre was so hot people were sweating and repositioning every five minutes and the seats don't even recline. I literally had to walk out the movie to ask for some air to be pumped into the theatre and the worker even said it would take 15 minutes and it didn't regulate at all. They don't add butter to their popcorn and they just give you whatever popcorn has already been made and kept warm for however long it lasts and then they pop more. At one point the audio even started to echo. AMC is ripping people off by charging full price tickets for an outdated and musty theatre. read more

$5 Tuesdays!! This was one of the few AMC's closest to me so I bought tickets to see 'Crazy Rich Asians' on $5 Tuesday lol. Obviously this review is super long overdue since I had seen this movie like ages ago. Driving up into the plaza where the theater is locaated, its kind of hidden away in the corner. Even though it seems smaller then the other theaters I've been to, I liked that since its smaller it wasn't as crowded either. Buying at the concession stand was not too difficult. No line and two people working. The drinks you get yourself so always room for refills! The theater itself was very clean and again, I really just overall liked this theater just because it was smaller so it wasnt packed with crowds of people. Spring Break. Finally a chance to catch up on my movie going. Heard about this movie theater that costs only $1.99 per ticket. WHAT? They're only a few minutes away from home. How come I hadn't heard about this place before? Pros: (1) Price. When other movie houses are charging nearly $15 per ticket, this place is a true bargain at $1.99. (2) Cleanliness. While the lobby is small and its carpet worn the staff is uber friendly and welcoming. -- Women's restroom is clean and completely functional. -- Auditoriums, the seats are comfortable, the floors clean. They are serious about cleaning every auditorium after each showing. Once the movie ends, the auditorium is cleared and cleaned. (3) Lots of free parking. (4) Sound. Some theater speakers are too loud. Bombards you with sound so loud your skin reverberates. Not here. I like that. (5) On busy or rainy days they sell tickets inside the lobby. Cons: (1) Early seating. We bought our tickets 1 hour before showing. We weren't allowed to go in late because the auditoriums are completely cleared and cleaned after every viewing. Starplex Cinemas is a local theater in La Mirada that is small but gets the job done and does it right! I have never been to discount theaters in my life before until recently and I love it. The movies are still in theater but they have been out for a long time and that is when Starplex gets them. I have recently watched he Green Lantern 3D, Final Destination 5 3D and Limitless in just regular. I feel like I get a pretty good deal while coming here because I always pay about $16.00 to watch a 3D movie at a regular place...and really a lot of movies are not worth that much money in my opinion. The seats are some what comfortable and the screens are nice and this place does get packed during certain ours. But this cute little local place to come and hang out with friends is really nice and fun!! Yes, they play movies leaving the big theatre but with too many kids (including nieces, nephews & godchildren) the price is perfect. It's great family time. Price: 5 stars This movie theater has about 4 - 5 different films that are a bit passed their premiere dates. However, by doing so they are able to get great prices for the general public with $3 standard movie tickets and $4 for 3D. That's REALLY cheap. Interior: 3 stars Okay, you might be thinking the price is cheap so there's no way the facility could maintain itself to anything decent. Not true! Though the exterior is a bit "meh" and the interior of the theater lobby looks like it belongs to the late 1990s the actual theater room is good. The seats are comfortable, the aisles are clean, and more importantly the picture quality is good. Mind you, it isn't 4k quality but there is no issue with lighting or blurriness.You will enjoy yourself. Food: ??? I didn't try it but it looked good. It's also cheaper than regular movie theaters so don't be afraid to spend for some snacks. Finally the diddy of "let's all go to the lobby" makes sense again!
