I wish they salt the popcorn sparingly, because there are people who can't take salt for medical reasons. Even if I ask for no salt, I can feel the salt grains in my fingers. This theater has gone severely downhill. It was disgusting in here. I truly have no good things to say. Seats are VERY compact. If you're overweight or have wide hips, pick another theater. The floor of the theater was sticky. Seats were stained with god knows what. The bathrooms were absolutely filthy. Feces and toilet paper on the floor in the men's. Women's looked like a tornado flew through it. Trash cans completely full and overflowing. Concession area was an absolute mess. Drink machines out of nearly everything. The poor staff was struggling to keep up with the amount of orders. Only had one guy making the food and he was running all over the place. Was here a couple months back for a visit and was not very impressed with this AMC. We got free tickets to the watch a movie here and unfortunately, there were so many things that went wrong. 1) While in line to redeem our tickets, the lady's scanner wasn't working so she patiently entered the tickets one by one. Thank you for doing that. 2) As soon as we entered I almost wanted to grab a broom and clean up all the popcorn that was on the floor. Yes, it was the last few showings of the night and maybe, just maybe they were understaff but that scene definitely did not convince me to come back as evident in the photo attached. 3) Was it me or was there no air circulation in the theater!? The online times didn't match up with the theatre times which caused us to almost miss out on the movie, but luckily we got there early! 2. The people that work there need to be a little more friendly and happy. Customer service is very important. Today I decided to drive 30 mins to check out Manteca's AMC 16 to watch the new "Top Gun." Booked my ticket online for the 12:15pm viewing. Arrived at the theater, was told my movie was showing at screen 9, walked into a black screen @ 11:59am . A little strange because all other movies have trivia questions playing before the movie start time. So found my seat, it was 12:15 and still a black screen. Other customers inside were like " it's 12:15? Where's the movie. 2 mins pasted and still a black screen so one of the customers got out to inform the workers that our movie was not on to which should have started at 12:15pm. I then decided to grab a drink and saw they had the new mango flavored icy. Bought their one size which was a x-large then walked to the icee machines to select mango flavor and got back to my seat, inserted my straw and...... yea, was NOT mango flavored. Surprise! It was cherry. Looked at the time, it was dam near 1pm and the movies still had not started, still in movie previews. Actual movie started at 1:05pm.. talk about a 50min delay. Movie it's self was 4.5 out of 5. I just can't believe it took 30 years to make a second one. So movie was over at 3:10pm. I had my brother with me who was suppose to be at work by 3pm which he would have had ample time to be early for if the movie would have started on time. So I went to the ticketing area to ask for a manager- this time it was about 3:11pm and I had told the young manager can you explain to me why my 12:15pm movie didn't run until 1:05pm? He says " he didn't know the movie was not showing until a customer came out to inform one of his workers at 12:17pm the screen was still black. And I quote " Top Gun is the only movie with a 45min premier, trivia ." Wait what?? Time out- I've been seeing movies in theaters for day one releases for over a decade & half and never has a new release movie had a 40+ min movie preview etc. also boss man, what do you mean you didn't know the show hadn't begun? So no one is managing the wheels to ensure the movies start at their perspective times? so an error on your staffs part costed your customers 50mins of their time due to poor management ? And all he could say was "I am sorry." Well I am sorry too since I am a stock holder of AMC shares, A - list premier member and I watch movies at other AMC theaters around CA. But after today, I don't know if my hard earn money should be spent at any AMC's moving forward if you can't make things right with your paying customers. Heck a courtesy food/ drink voucher would have suffice but instead a "sorry." Was all this manager could offer me. Yea, I will not return to this AMC after today and I will ensure my friends and family don't bother wasting their time going to this location either if this is how they value their customers. Ps. Don't advertise the special edition top gun popcorn cans if you can't manage your inventory to account for a highly anticipated movie for this 3 day Memorial weekend. read more

Got a gift card at Christmas for this theater. We live in Modesto and don't have a AMC so yesterday mother's day we decided to to use the gift card. Walk in it's nice we thought on wow the bar that was Closed but food choices was nice. We make our way into the theater OMG I LOOK at the seats straight nasty dirty disgusting. The AMC Theatre in Manteca is the best in our area for several reasons: 1. $24.95 a month for up to THREE movies a week in ANY AMC Screen, including the Metreon IMAX - the largest screen in Northern California, and the huge Dolby Digital Screen in Brentwood. 2. The staff is now very friendly and helpful. 3. They often MOVE movies from a medium size screen to a much larger screen after a few days, and change the show times, so watch for that. 4. Four screens are hugely wide, and every screen at this AMC is larger than most screens in Sacramento (I know because I lived there 14 years). They're also larger than most screens at the Brenden and the Regal and the Galaxy. 5. The popcorn used to be tough but it is much better, and you get a free refill. The Galaxy has much more comfortable seats than this AMC, and their curved silver DFX screen 7 is extremely wide, but it's expensive. The Brenden has several tiny screens. And The Regal only has two large screens. read more

My experience at this theatre was terrible! Drove from out of town to come watch Top Gun for the 12:15pm showing. Showed up at noon and got to our uncomfortable non reclining seats. Movie screen completely black. In my cinema experience, even when you show up early the screen is always on with commercials and movie trivia's. At this Manteca AMC... 12:15pm, still a black screen. 12:17pm, still a black screen. 12:21pm, the screen finally turns on... movie trivia starts. FINALLY at 1:05pm the actual movie begins. 50 MINUTES LATE!! At this point I hear a customer say, "the movie just started and I've already finished my popcorn." SMH. Now about the concession stand... Top Gun being a big deal at theaters during this time a special addition Top Gun collectible popcorn bin was advertised. However was unable to receive one due to lack of inventory. The ICEE machine ran out of the new mango flavor. How did I find out? Push the mango icee button and out comes CHERRY. Poor customer service all around, their response, "sorry, there's nothing I can do for you" Never returning to this theater again! read more

Our favorite movie spot in the Valley. We buy our tickets through the AMC app, then show our scan from our phone upon arrival. Concessions is right there and they let you fill your own drinks and butter for your popcorn. Much better than Regal that does it behind the concessions counter. AMC gives patrons the choice to customize their butter and mix the drinks. It makes the movie experience more fun! And at this location, there is a bar where you can order alcoholic drinks, perfect for those on a date or parents who are on a family outing who want a relaxing drink as the kids settle in during previews. The theatre seats are inclined so the higher the row, the higher the view (unlike some Regals). In the shopping center, there is a sushi restaurant next door, Bass Pro Shop (very awesome) and various restaurants like Red Robin. There are also 16 Tesla Superchargers in the parking lot, so Tesla owners have the option of watching a movie while charging their vehicle! Sweet! Obviously, 5 stars! read more

I wrote a complaint about this theater to corporate on AMC's website which is pretty easy to do. This theater was very poor. None of the sits recline, the screen is so faded you can't see the movie and there are know theaters with an additional immersive experience like a 'Dolby Theatre'. The staff that was there did a really great job, but they're severely understaffed. They were not ready for the spiderman movie, towards the end of the night around 11pm the trash was full, the soda machines had very limited selections but as I stated the staff that was there did a great job, they kept the line moving for concessions. I'm not sure if they clean or disinfect the seats after the movies but do still have mask mandates. Hopefully they're able to get more staff for the next big movies. Beware if you are using a gift card from Fandango! I got to movie theater about 15 minutes before showtime and the email you get from fandango still had not loaded. We waited and waited until a few minutes after movie started so the guy selling tickets told us don't worry come back after the show and talk to manager they will probably refund you. Code word: probably. We bought 2 more tickets. I'm already out $20 but whatever I'll get my refund. Apparently this theatre is used to Fandango not working so they had a number for me to call right on computer screen. Sorry you used Fandango gift card so we are out in regards to refunding you. I say can you give me my Apple Pay refunded? I had to use $8 of my money to pay difference. Sorry no, we can't do that because you used Fandango. But here is Fandango's number they will refund you. Great!! I've called since yesterday after the movie calling Fandango. The automatic messages tell me sorry we can't refund you coz you waited until after the show to ask for a refund. Out go to theater! Love they finally moved to reserved seating recently! The box office service has great customer service and the app is the best. Sign up for the A list, it's free and it give the discount tuesdays of $6 tickets and waives the service fee on the app. The downside is the concession line, it's a bit slow, or maybe they can start getting kiosk or app order to pick up so it's faster. And there's no food trays, sometimes I want to share the popcorn or other food and it's hard to place in the small white bags. The candy selection is ok, wish they had the weigh your own candy. Overall a great location in a plaza with multiple restaurants around. read more

Messy. Zero customer service. Lack of concessions. Went and saw a late showtime and ordered everything through the website. Prepaid one large popcorn and one large soda. Went to the line that says PICK UP (the line that the order confirmation instructs you to go to). The concessions employees looked over at my wife and I, and continued to help the 7 other people in line. The line died down, and they still failed to help us. I told my wife to jump in the line, and I'd stand in the pickup line. They still helped her before helping me knowing that I was standing there. We received our order, and the employees seemed so miserable and careless. We got our sodas and then NOTHING worked on the soda machines. There was nothing online stating there weren't any drinks. So we paid for our soda just to get water. The theatre was a mess. The seats and the aisles looked like they hadn't been thoroughly cleaned in quite some time. This movie theatre was the worst experience of my life. We went to watch The Conjuring (HIGHLY RECOMMEND) and from the time we walked in until the time we left it was awful! They did not turn the AC on and the theatre room was getting really hot. Our seats were ripped apart as if a bear clawed the whole seats and all you see is the cushioning of the seats and on top of that we got a large popcorn and they told us no refill on it either which really made everyone else upset. This has to be the worst theatre and has the worst management ever! I came early and bought my tickets online so that I can just walk in from the side door and skip the line. Nope! There was a long line of 50 ppl or more just waiting in the 90 degree heat just to get inside, and there was 1 person checking in ppl and empty stands where more employees could have helped check ppl in to move the line faster. Once we finally get checked in there is another 40 ppl in line for the concession food/drink area. Once we make our ways to the auditorium, we find our seats and sit down only to sit and walk all over popcorn, guessing the cleaners had a day off because it was filthy. The cherry on top, the AC was out and felt like a sauna in there. We lasted probably 20 minutes, ppl walking back and forth having to keep moving because the seats were all jacked up and multiple ppl having the same seat numbers. This definitely was the second time within 2-3 weeks that I had to deal with the heated theater because it was broke so I asked for my money back within minutes of arrival and they kept the $5 ($4.38 to be exact) service fee and said it was non refundable. To wait 20 min in the heat outside, 20 min in line to get drinks and be inconvenienced with a dirty auditorium with a broken AC FOR THE SECOND TIME IN 1 month is completely wrong! Make it right AMC!!!! You should not be selling tickets when you know your auditorium is not functioning as intended! Robbing the people at its finest! I bought the tickets on AMC.com, this isn't right! Could at least make it right but the GM was very rude and said (today was a discounted day anyways so maybe they just won't have that anymore! ) how is that justifiable?! So because the theater was discounted everywhere today we have to suck it up and shut up and deal?! Definitely calling corporate and disputing the service fee that AMC is declining to give back! I would suggest the outside area of theater needs to be power washed frequently. Inside the theater is not as nice as it use to be. Very messy at concession counters and soda areas. Unfortunately, some people have no manners these days, but the theater should stay on top of it. Picking the seats ahead of time is ok until you arrive at the assigned seat that is gross with junk on it. Arriving for the 2nd matinee, purchased popcorn that was stale. Had to wait for a new batch. Two other couples came back to counter to say their popcorn was also stale. You'd think the popcorn would be warm and fresh for the price. An employee named Michael just returned from his break and apologized to all of us about the popcorn. The discount Tuesday price has gone up from the bargain price of $5. Discount Tuesday is still advertised as $5 on some websites. At the window they will tell you it went up in February 2019. So...how about fixing the price everywhere!
