The only reason this place doesn't get 5 stars is the few bad experiences I've had. The upgraded seats are really nice, just make sure you don't sit in the first couple rows. The seats are pointless and they should just remove them because it's impossible to enjoy a movie from there. Having the bar helps deal with the annoyances. read more

Loved it! Went to a 3D with reclining seats, which was like sitting in first class, also saw a 3D IMAx. Very comfy oversized seats. There are many good food options right at The Loop and a bar right outside the theatre. read more

On-Line Reserved Seating program Sucks! We tried to reserve seats and order food only to have the site REJECT our payment. It not only did this to me but to my wife. Expensive. Never, ever sit in the first two rows unless you are angling for a neck injury; the angle is intolerable for more than 10 minutes. My husband and I bought tickets and had to abandon our A row seats just after the movie began because we were so uncomfortable. So we go to the movies and I arrive at 1045 mind you the movie starts at 1030 and they close the door on us saying they are closed. A lot of people don't arrive exactly at the time the movie starts. Rude employees didn't have the time to explain just shut the door on our face. read more

if i could rate this a -5 I would, they didn't let me into a rated R movie even with my college ID, or a picture of my license but yet the other day I was let in without an ID to a rated R movie. Literally let me in last time and didn't even ask for an ID. They did not apologize and all are rude and have terrible customer service. takes 30 minutes for each movie to start and the prices are ridiculous. you're better off going somewhere else. read more

Compliments first: love the seats, generally clean theater. Love the pre-book seating feature. What I hate: finding posters in the lobby which are completely and totally inappropriate for families with kids. Have seen posters up with filthy innuendo's and I'm one with a salty tongue myself but I don't do it in front of kids. Adult type language and themes on a giant poster in the AMC lobby which are not suitable for little school age kids who can read. Also - and I think this is AMC as a chain not the specific theater -- they are supposed to post pre-movie trailers which are appropriate for the audience that is viewing the movie being shown. Yet at AMC I have sat through trailers which are very adult theme with the actors getting all amorous on kitchen counters, while waiting for the movie to come on -- which was for a movie with a target audience of little girls of about 12-13. Do you really want to sit through a sex scene on a trailer with your 12 year old? No recourse when complaining at the counter at the Loop (not their decision, corporate sends them the movies with trailers pre-arranged). I did manage to get in touch via email to AMC who did eventually acknowledge they had wrongly queued up this particular trailer to play ahead of this particular movie. Too bad they didn't fix it. And I have to wonder at a movie chain that cannot get that simple task right of queuing up movie trailers to appropriate audiences. And I have to wonder at the management of a chain that would post filthy adult posters in their lobby with little kids walking through. So great seats or not, if you have little kids or young teens - I'd avoid AMC. Oh, and don't get me going on the price of a bag of popcorn or a soda here. Sticker shock city. read more

Very clean facility, 1 star for that. $12 for a small popcorn and a bottle of water, negative (-5) stars for that. AMC, your concession prices are why I sneak in food to your facility. It is winter time, so it is very easy to sneak in a big bag of Smartfood, big waters and a sweet snack in your jacket. I suggest this to anyone visiting this theater to sneak in as much food as you can and avoid the concession stand at all costs. read more

I have been coming to this theatre for as long as I can remember. It's always seemed overall pretty clean and well kept.. Prices are ridiculous but that's a given with movies nowadays. Last night was the absolute worst experience at this theatre. First, after paying $23 for two tickets and the guy working at the ticket booth making a huge debacle over seeing our ID's (we were both well over 18) he forgets to hand us our tickets. Maybe it was our fault not realizing, but after being hounded about our IDs, we just wanted to get into the movie ASAP. We didn't realize we didn't have the tickets until we reached the entrance to the theatre where the girl accused us of trying to sneak in. When I explained what happened, she just stood there staring at me. I thought she would have wanted to check with the guy we bought our tickets from, but she just stared and told me to go get them from him, so I did. Finally after we have our tickets and I've just about had it, the girl asks us AGAIN for our IDs. Annoying. My main issue is that after seeing The Drop, the credits rolled and so did a little mouse. Right past my feet. I would have stepped on it if my boyfriend didn't bring it to my attention. Absolutely disgusting. Probably won't be back. read more

I went to see the 8:45pm show of The Lazarus Effect last night. I was very impressed with the way the staff handled the crowd before and during the movie. At least 5 people were "ejected" because of various issues such as cell phone usage, excessive loudness/screaming and foul language. The movie experience started out very rough; and a couple who was sitting next to me actually got up and left because of the noise. However, as soon as the staff stepped in, removed the trolls and made the announcement that certain behaviors were not going to be tolerated, peace and quiet took over; and the rest of us actually got to enjoy the movie. By the way, the theater has been remodeled; and it actually looks very good. read more

Pretty awful experience. Theatre not cleaned in between showings of the movie. Walked into theatre to find empty drink containers and food on our seats. Pretty gross. While the new seating and reserved seats are nice this theatre has to get their operations down to keep me coming my back. For $12 a ticket I'd expect a clean theatre. read more

Overall the place is ok. The movie clarity and sound, which is what really matters is very good. We've been in the IMAX theater, and the regular ones. Both very good. We like the new seating, except its hard to know which seats are connected with the liftable armrest when you're booking your seats online. My wife and I like to lift the arm rest so its like we're on 1 big loveseat. The one thing I have issue with, is the concessions. I just can't get use to pouring my own butter on the popcorn. I have to get a half full bag, go over to the butter station, put that in and then go back for more corn and then back to the butter...plus the station itself is always dirty and most of the butters are not working. If they could just clean that part of the experience up I would give it 4 stars! read more

Saw a movie in one of the smaller theaters with reclining seats and they were great! Very comfortable and made for a good movie experience. Unfortunately, my rating is only 2 stars, because everything else they've done since they've renovated seems to be a chaotic mess. The reserved seating is confusing and I think completely unnecessary. The concession stand is a total joke. Unless you're ordering hot food, it's a help yourself line, where you start at one end, and wander all the way around picking up what you want and then check out at the other end. It skeeves me out a bit that the popcorn is just sitting out there where anybody can touch it. And I felt downright stupid having to walk all the way around when there was absolutely no one else there (although I can't imagine this working better when it's busy). Finally, why am I paying higher prices for concessions when I'm basically doing all the work myself now? Some things just don't need to be "improved" upon. read more

This theatre is very clean, which is super important. The prices of the popcorn and sodas are high though, which is topically expected, but it would be nice, if they were not for once. The food selection is just alright, and the food is ready fast, which is important if you are trying to catch a movie. But now with the choosing of your seat before you watch, you will have to get there super early anyways or there may not be anything left. Buying your ticket online has a surcharge, which I think is a little crazy, seeing that it is convenient for both parties to do so, but you will be able to get a better seat that way. read more

We spend $20.00 every weekend and they still don't have the assigned seating together!!! Who wants to go as a couple and sit next to someone else 2x!! I went to see the movie "Selma" in theatre 5... Maybe I am a bit picky but what I encountered today was Loews Theatre at the Loop trying to be more like Chunkys. What are they doing with all the new remodeling? O.k. Very comfortable, wider, reclining seats. Much more food options and self-serve popcorn and Coca-Cola in a hundred varieties! Also assigned seating in each theatre. Well, did I like the changes? Yes on the comfortable seats! No, on the popcorn (as usual, way too salty!) The icee was o.k. though. (Their menu is not completely 100% operating yet but will in time.) The assigned seating stunk!! We had about 10 people in the theatre and of course a few of us chose to sit in the same area. (You have too choose your seats when you pay for your ticket in the lobby.) You don't get a good idea of the layout or the crowd looking at a tablet screen in the lobby. When you get into the theatre and you are find you are in a bad spot, and too close to others then you have to appologize and move to another location. I hate the assigned seating but maybe it is good with a full theatre... One other thing is you can hear the very deep rumbles from a theatre next door. Not good when you are watching a movie that you need to really pay attention to. Overall I would not recommend Loews Theatre At the Loop, except to see a movie that will not be shown at Chunky's. Oh, it costs over $11 for the movie and approx. $8 for the large very salty popcorn and $5 for the ICEE. Total approx. $24. Not a very good value. read more

+: since renovating theater the chairs are electric and reclinable and very comfortable...but reserved seating occurs...TIP: if u have a discount ticket then wait in line earlier to purchase a ticket and get a reserved seating so you wont be complaining about lack of seating, etc...esp if u r the type to go last minute...., free drink refills including slushies!....snack area is now a grab and go so there arent anylines waiting to pay for ur food...but the downfall is: popcorn bags are sitting under a warmer....plenty of parking spaces in front and back available! since there r restaurants nearby u can grab a bite to eat before or after movie... -: none really... read more

Standard stadium seating movie theater with 20 theaters and lots of parking. I like how your seat is reserved once you buy your ticket so you don't have to get there 2 hours early. The concession stand has a decent selection but usually only one side is open so the line tends to back up. They have several of those coke machines with about 300 flavors! Restroom cleanliness could use some work. read more

We went to this theater to see White House Down. Online show time listed at 5:20. We waited in line, got up to the register and the associate informed us that the showings were 7:00 and 10:00. We had her double check and she pulled out a paper schedule that did indeed have a 5:20 show time. She called over another associate and she confirmed there was a 5:20 showing. She then called the manager and was informed due to the high volume of Despicable Me 2 they bumped the 5:20 showing of WHD. They did make good with us by letting us see another movie that was open for free and gave us 2 movie passes for later (which is why I gave them any stars). What gets me is the lack of communication. We stood in line for 10 minutes (all the while the line's getting longer behind us) waiting for them to figure this out. Whoever made this decision should have informed the employees. This is bad management skills in my opinion. read more

We were there on Monday the 26th of December , paided 18.00 for two tickets... Then a fire alarm went off, the communication to exit all of us was so unclear, plus they didn't come out and say anything for at least 30 minutes, we left to cold to wait outside. Called to ask if I could give the bar code on ticket and would they send us passes. Now we have to see the manager with our ticket stubs to get into the movie again....... Seems like alot of trouble for the customers, why wouldn't the bar code work for you to send out passes?????? apparently they closed the place for the day.... read more

My wife and I went to see American Sniper and when we bought our tickets I asked for the senior discount I was told that only was available on Tuesdays. Cost of tickets were $32.00 and that was just the beginning. I decided to get a small popcorn and 2 small drinks wow was I surprised $18.00. The only good thing good about the experience was the new seats were comfortable. I won't be going back there as there are other theaters in the area far less expensive. What a ripoff. read more

Because I just can't stand to see the stupidity in these comments I have to review even though I almost never do. Firstly as someone who has actually been there on Christmas day the most busiest day of the year BEFORE the renovations I'm going to explain why all of this is a positive. I got to the movies 3 hours yes THREE WHOPPING HOURS in advance to watch a movie, we got our tickets and stood in an already long line thinking that we would be getting good seats and seat with each other. Well no! After waiting in line for 3 hours we finally got in to the theater only to have a bunch of rude kids run in front of us and get all the good seats, I ended up being separated from half of my group just to watch the movie. Now when I go on a busy Saturday night, I can go three hours in advance pick our seats together and then go out eat something come in 2 minutes before the movie starts get some popcorn and get the awesome seats I picked ahead of time because I'm not some idiotic Neanderthal like some people on here who are apparently incapable of doing this..... Secondly I LOVE the concession stand ! Anyone who doesn't is just a fat lazy prick who probably needs the exercise of walking what was it like 15 feet at the most ???? Ridiculous! I mean if you like waiting behind people who are deciding for what seems like forever! just to order their food, thus making you late to their movie then fine that makes sense..... NOT! With this new stand I can literally Just start on one end grab everything I like as I pass along and then just pay at the end. I mean if middle schoolers can do it then I'm sure adults can as well..... As for the seats, they are super comfortable and a great improvement except for the ones in the IMAX theater though an employee told me that's because IMAX was being cheap and didn't want to waste more money and seat space, so that makes sense and I liked her honesty. And as for the dirtiness I only have one thing to say THROW YOUR FREAKING TRASH AWAY! People who complain about this are always the first ones I see leaving their mounds of trash in the theater! If we all just put our things in the trash bins that are placed right at the exit of our movie, A PLACE WE ARE ALREADY GOING TO HAVE TO PASS, then it would be so much better for everyone! Iv'e seen little girls probably half my age and size walking out with armfuls of trash that people were just too lazy to throw away. Their job should be to clean a spill or an accident not be your maid. As for the prices they are high but thats the same in every movie theater I've ever been too. The staff is great always friendly, except for one lady Michelle or something she gave me the biggest attitude when I asked about purchasing a cut out they had, she seemed like she hated her job and anyone who made her do it. I asked on of the employees and they responded "oh she's always like that". But other than that I really have no complaints, everyone is always nice and helpful and the renovations have really made going to the movies very efficient. I love it! This place is terrible. It's nice that they have the new seating with the arm chairs, but everything else is awful. They have a new system of concessions where you go from station to station to get different items. Sounds great in theory, but there are never any employees at any station but the registers and often employees are in the back laughing when customers can see them so it's obvious they can see us. The soda dispensing area is always a mess... Napkins everywhere, soda stickiness all over the counter and rarely are there enough straws and covers. The butter station for the popcorn is the same, and there is always popcorn ground into the carpet. I'd like to chalk it up to a busy Friday night or under staffing. The problem with both of this is that I've been here during the week and it's the same and there are always employees standing around laughing and on their phones where they think customers can't see them. I used to love coming here, but recently the service and atmosphere are extremely sub par. read more

The new AMC theater...gross. Concession stands are a joke...have to order different things at different "spots" at the counter. LIterally walked around twice not knowing where to go. and they sent me to a window with no one there and i had to stand there, when the other girl who sent me could have gotten my food! SO... two small popcorns, fries, 1 water, 2 ICEE's=$30. Tickets for one adult and 2 kids=$30. THEN after paying an arm and a leg, you can go and get your own ICEE, and butter and ketchup and touch the knobs that thousands of others have touched (germ fest!). there was NO ketchup at the stands and i was turned off anyway, it was a sloppy mess, ewe, lost appetite. The new seats: just okay, don't recline as much as i thought they would, and the seat in front was not taken and upright and blocked part of view of screen...and again, germ fest touching more buttons. all that AND 30 minutes of trailers. MOstly, i was turned off by the whole food "court" thing. I won't go back here. read more
