I can't believe how disgusting dirty this place is. I get it rush hours make things hard to keep in perfect order but we had a 1pm showing and the place already had trash all over the floor near the registers. No communication between employees means me paying for a candy to be told to grab it from the middle to then find out they don't have what I asked for. I get it things run out but normally employees are told when things are out of stock. After our movie was over aprox 3pm the lobby was jam packed so yes I would understand a slight disorder but it was bad! Popcorn all over the floor and counters along with spilt drinks dripping down the counters. The place wasn't short staffed to have been able pulled someone from the back to clean up. I get it that it's the customers as well that are disgusting to trash the place but as a business it is the employees job to maintain it. read more

Please remind people to SIT IN THE SEATS THEY PURCHASE. I always buy my tickets far in advance therefore getting the seats right where we (and apparently everyone else) like because the last 3 times when we get there other people are sitting in our seats. That's the whole point of planning ahead and selecting the seats you enjoy! So it's really beginning to get annoying to have people deliberately take our seats. I will never recommend any of my friends or family to this place either. 10 mins into the my first time watching Star Wars, some kid from the theater comes in saying, "we have to restart the movie since not everyone saw the previews" WHEN DID THIS BECOME A THING? The movie STARTS at a certain time and therefore people should BE THERE at a certain time. This prolonged everything and completely ruined everyone's movie experience. When other members of the audience asked, "Why are we restarting it, we already watched the previews!" The staff remarked smugly, " Because not everyone got to see the previews"... Live in Surprise and want to see a movie? Take the extra 10 minute drive and got to Harkins or AMC... This place has the prices jacked up so much higher than any other theater I've been too and that's not the reason I gave it 2 stars. The staff is friendly [all three of them], but that's about all the good I have to say about this place. I entered a 5:15 showing of Zootopia and was asonished to see how messy the show room was. Popcorn all over the place, booster seats still in chairs, empty cups on the floor and in cup holders. So as a frequent movie goer I came to the AMC Surprise point theatre for the second time because of the $5 Tuesday ( witch by the way was first show on weekends and holidays originally) only to find out after arriving that apparently that this theater and other AMC theaters do not do this so in my opinion this is a bait and switch scenario why not only that I find out that all AMC's have a different price point ( ie. if matinee price is $8 dollars here might be $9 at the theater up the road also noticed since the digital displays that you pay more for combos depending on time of day. What a rip off not impressed with AMC business ethics, either they are a corporation or independent franchise. But to be able to change there price when ever they want is not right in anybody's eye. read more

This place has consistently gone downhill since UltraStar sold this cinema. Went here to Ice Age for the matinee. The theater was dirty and had popcorn on the floor. Stood in the concession stand line for 25 minutes. Only one cashier was open. Really??? A busy matinee showing and 1 cashier???? I missed the start of my movie because of this. Their concession prices are outrageous!!!! $8.21 for a small popcorn and $7.39 for a large drink. Those prices are Ritz Carlton level. I can see why this theater has changed hands so many times. UltraStar sold to Digiplex. Digiplex sold to Carmike. Carmike has now sold to AMC. Surprise really needs to get a good quality, consistent theater. So I'm not sure how long this has been going on but the AC IS NOT WORKING. Bring a blanket with you. We saw Several people w blankets in there and didn't realize why until after we paid. I will say the seats are heated so that helped our backs but the rest of our bodies were very very cold. We will not be going back there until they get their act together. read more

The staff is really making an effort to be extra polite, extra interested, and extra helpful here at Carmike's. I suspect that the Digiplex's reputation of indifference is making it difficult for them to win back guests. We visited on Friday night to see John Wick. Movie was horrible but that's not the point. What I noticed was the real lack of guests here on a Friday night. There were only 4 other people in the big theater with us and that was very telling. There weren't many in the lobby either and the ticket takers mentioned it was a very slow night. I think if they do some community outreach programs that will make a difference in the perception of the theater and maybe win back some customers but they will need to get started before the holiday season or its going to be a loooong lonely winter for them. read more

It doesn't have assigned seating but it also wasn't too busy. As you walked, you enter a roped off section to purchase your tickets. Only to walk to another roped off section to buy popcorn, drinks etc. The line moved quickly and service was great. At the entrance to the movies they are checking your tickets so make sure to have them handy. That's probably the only inconvenience when your hands are full with popcorn, drinks and candy only to dig for your ticket stub to get them checked. read more

Went to see Ford v Ferrari with friends. Entered the cinema and the running lights along the floor were off, my friend tripped and landed on the floor. She was not able to get up and butt crawled along the floor to the stairs where she eventually got into a seat. Everyone was kind and tried to assist. Thank you. Then the movie went out, sound was on but no picture. Some folks went out and came back to tell us they were told the show would stop. Some people left. No one from the theater came by to inform us of next steps. Suddenly the movie came back on. We settled in to watch. Then it went out again. This time everyone left. We then stood in line to receive very generous passes, two for every one ticket. My friend hobbled out in pain. She filled out an occurrence report. I went to the bathroom and found out there was no toilet paper(extra Kleenex always comes in handy), no soap in three of the four dispensers. I would not return. The addition of a bar in a place such as the local theater doesn't sit well with me. The theater is a place where you take your kids and your grandkids to enjoy a family event. Very very rude girl that works there. She was working the booth where you enter to see the movies. Not where you purchase the tickets. I wish I got her name but by reading some of the other reviews sounds like the same girl. Last night she wouldn't let my daughter nor her friend in to see the movie IT without an ID. Both 16 I get it, it's an R rated movie but I too was going in to see the movie. I clearly look over "21". I forgot my eye glasses in the car and told the girls just to go in and I'll be right back. When I came back the girls were standing there and told me she wouldn't let them in without ID. I'm like ok you probably have to walk in with an adult . I get it. So we proceeded to enter and the girl said that they're not aloud to see the movie, that they need to be 17 or older . I thought the rules were if accompanied by an adult you can go see the movie. My daughter wanted to leave said she doesn't want any trouble nor a scene. So the rude girl making Accusations I guess , thought maybe we would go buy another ticket for another movie but really go to the original movie we were there to see...like if I had money to do so. This is the part that gets me ...she (rude girl) then said I will personally go in the movie and look to see if they're there and personally kick them out of the theater. My daughter just wanted to go. By this time We wouldn't have enjoyed the movie even if I talked to the manager. I thought maybe this is the new rule for AMC that you must be 17 or older to see rated R movies now. Got my money back. Told the other worker that gave my money back she wouldn't let us in cause they're not 17. She said nothing. When we got home after awhile I decided I'm going to call to speak to a manager. Told him what happened and he said that minors can go in with an adult over 21. So same rules as I thought. He apologized then said he would be speaking to his employees about the the procedures on that minors can go in with an adult. He told me maybe there was a missed communication between myself and rude girl.. Really ...I don't really see how. But like I said , it's how we were treated by this rude girl that is the bigger problem. My girls and I felt personally attack by her. Thanks to the "rude girl" for almost ruining our night. Figured now that AMC owns this theatre that I should review. Awesome that they have a huge IMAX screen. Concessions items are a lot better but lines moves slower than the average theatre. The seats still need to be upgraded to the normal AMC seats. Employees at the ticket counter could be faster and could focus better on customer service. The employee that takes our tickets and points us to our theatre is always friendly. read more

Went this past weekend for the first time since AMC took over. Movie tickets have to be purchased at the concession counter, and the line was to the freaking door. I tried to voice my disappointment, but the employee could care less. They did provide an express line for members only, which only upset me even more. This was my last visit to this outdated theater, I will drive the extra distance to the Harkins in Goodyear or Peoria. read more

This theater needs a major update on it. The material on the walls are coming loose and the seats are very uncomfortable. It also has regulars who think they have seats that "belong" to them. The concession stands food sucks as well. Just save your money. We've decided to go to a Harkins theater that is 20 minutes away to watch the movie for a second time to get the full experience. Should be a line for show goers only. Why do I have to sit through 30 minuets of commercials to even get to the previews? Maybe the theater should try showing the commercials and previews after the movie, and if you want to stick around and watch, you can.
