I had the Brandt Beef 5-ounce Filet + Jumbo Lump Crab Cake with Goat cheese & roasted red pepper stuffed gnocchi, whiskey cream sauce + mango salsa which was excellent. My friend and I came to Amelia's for Dine Out Boston (restaurant week) and wow, what a gem! The atmosphere is very inviting as soon as you walk in, and the inside portion of the restaurant is beautiful. All of the staff we encountered there were extremely kind and helpful, and our waiter (Chris) was extremely nice. The food was incredibly delicious and super fresh! We had pulled pork sliders, coconut shrimp, salmon with lobster ravioli (to die for!!!!), and ended with cheesecake. First time here, celebrating our anniversary. This place is so cool looking and the food was delicious. We had the Antipasti for 2 to start then the Sea Scallops over corn risotto and the 5 oz filet with the crab cake followed by the cannoli cream puffs and the crème brûlée. Our waiter was Chris and he was just the best, such a polite young man. They gave us complimentary Prosecco to celebrate our anniversary which was a very nice gesture. Been wanting to come to restaurant since it is only 5 mins away from where I was staying, so when the opportunity came to try this place, I said yes immediately! First things first: - They have a huge parking lot so there was no trouble with that (for me, this is a deciding factor in where I want to eat for dinner because who wants to spend 15+ mins trying to find parking?) - Hostess was very friendly - Restaurant is bigger than I thought and was really beautiful inside We were a party of 7 and we were seated at a table by the fireplace, which was super cozy. For a Sunday night, it was quite busy. Appetizers: - Baked Duxbury oysters: Not sure what I was expecting, but the oysters were tiny but good - I just wish there was more - Steamed local mussels: I don't eat mussels, but my party seemed to really enjoy this! Portions were huge - Ricotta stuffed meatballs: Highly recommend ordering this - the meatball was seasoned perfectly and was not dry at all. I would come back for this - Tuna tartare: This was on sweeter side, so if you enjoy that, this is for you. Personally I didn't like this and they gave us wonton crisps as chips, which didn't pair well with the tuna tartare, especially since it was on the sweeter side. - Shoestring fries: These were good, but nothing special! - Coconut shrimp: Perfectly crispy with a good balance of the coconut and shrimp flavor - Crispy brussel sprouts: There were bacon and apple with this brussel sprouts, but I didn't really taste the bacon. I wish the flavors were more distinct. I probably wouldn't order this again Entrees: - Bucatini: I was looking forward to this entree the most, but it had too much lemon flavor and from what a recall, it was on the sweeter side. This was not what I was expecting, especially since it was made with garlic butter and onions. I am wondering if the wine was not reduced enough? - Filet + lump crab cake: I thought the steak was just okay and not cooked as well as I thought. The crab cake was dry. - Seared sea scallops: This was my favorite dish of the night - the scallops were seared perfectly and the texture was amazing. I would come back here for it again :) We also ordered lamb chops and the New York sirloin, but I don't remember what my thoughts were on these. Overall, it was a good meal, but nothing special or spectacular! I wouldn't mind coming back here for the dishes that I enjoyed and other appetizers. I typically do not write negative reviews. This is my first and hopefully my last. I really wish this would have been positive since all my previous experiences at this restaurant had been positive until a few days ago. In all fairness, this say more about the individuals who served my husband and I than the restaurant. However, a server and a manager represent a restaurant at the time in which service is being rendered. Basically, I was denied services, and treated like a second class citizen with unsupportive policies. The only thing that was clear that night, was my color and race which was surprising and made worst when the manager made no effort to correct the waiter's poor assumptions. In fact, the young Caucasian female manager not only supported the young Caucasian male waiter, but try to justify his action and made matters worst when she commented on my physical size and how much I had to eat (unless you're a subject matter expert, the weight/food comment was a low blow) and denied to take my Visa gift card though they take Visa-long story short- this is the kind of nasty behaviors you see in the news minus a camera. Maybe I should have turned on my camera, but I personally do not wish to spread distasteful behaviors. On a professional level, I requested the policy the restaurant has to support the poor treatment I received on that regretful night. It was my last night with my husband before he left for military service as we both serve our country, a total of 40 plus years combined. There wasn't any rational reasoning for this treatment except being black in a Stoughton restaurant during the wrong night, despite being with a Caucasian husband. No pointers for that one, America, or maybe that played a role to some extent, Negro woman with a Caucasian man-I pray these two workers will feel the wrath from Karma. As for myself, it's not worth the drama. I will never subject myself to such hatred by returning to this restaurant ever again, but I do not discourage anyone else from going. Sometimes, people simply don't know how to act and unfortunately, that's a them problem. read more

A return trip to Amelia's with friends was super. Food was great a Robbie again gave the best of service. A star. There was one big problem that threw a wrench into this delicious meal. A party of 8 women sat behind us. Perhaps a bachelorette party. The screaming, yelling and overall disrespect for the patrons around them should have been called out by management. One could see other patrons upset. These women were up and down taking pictures which raised the level of noise even more. I spent many years as a waiter in some very high end restaurants in the Boston area. This would never have been accepted. My regret was that I didn't approach a manager. Allowing that level of disruption, is a turn off to those would consider returning. read more

We initially had an 8:15 pm reservation, however, we arrived at 8 and asked if they could seat us, which they did. We had a very nice table outside. Our server was excellent. She was friendly and courteous. She told us the specials immediately and answered all of our questions. For drinks I had the Flirtini which was great and my husband had a Manhattan which he said was perfectly made. For dinner I ordered the seared scallops with the risotto and my husband ordered the special which was the swordfish which was served on top of a bed of corn salsa. Both were amazing! The presentation was lovely and they were both delicious; it was just enough to fill us up without stuffing us. We would definitely return and recommend it. read more

Oh me oh my Amelia's. As a person of color I really enjoyed coming to this place. On 1/12/2023 @ 7:35...5 TVs. 3 of which is at the bar. I entered and the Bruins was on all TV's. Then shortly after arriving one TV in the back of restaurant had the the Celtics game on. I asked to put on the game while occupying one side of the bar and was told NO! I didn't respond just decided to watch the game on my phone. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to tell me where they want me to sit. There is no one watching the Bruins. read more

Our family held a send off Dinner last night at Amelia's. The food and service were outstanding. I had the butternut squash ravioli special and it was the perfect fall meal. Everyone else enjoyed their meals as well we ranged from the scallops to lamb chops with a delmonico steak thrown in. From our initial greeting at the door through to desert the staff was great. Checking in often, making suggestions on dishes or drinks and Ofcourse deserts. the crème brulee, cookie skillet and cannoli cream puffs were our table favorites. We love Amelia's! This was a visit for our anniversary. I made the reservation and in the notes mentioned it was our anniversary and asked that we be seated somewhere quiet, if possible. They absolutely took note of this and seated us in a cozy quiet corner. Our server was delightful and cheery - she certainly made an effort to make our night special. This included bringing us flutes of Prosecco. (It was very thoughtful that she brought a flute of ginger ale for my hubby who had not ordered any alcoholic drinks.)
