Amelie is a cute French spot in the west village. We went for brunch and ordered mussels, and a steak frites. The food was good, not life changing, but I enjoyed my mussels. The service was quick and they have lots of deals running for happy hour. I ordered a cocktail, but I think the wine my friend ordered was better. Wine is their strong suit and they have flights on their brunch menu. Overall, it was a cute spot.

This is one of my favorite places to casually drop in because of the atmosphere. It is very lively and the real candle lights create a great vibe at night. I've been to the upper west side location and I'd suggest that one for more of an intimate and romantic ambiance. I'd always suggest making a reservation since they do get pretty busy, but they've always had some availability when I've come here in a party under 4 people. The food here is really good and they have a great daily happy hour. Some of my favorite things here are the wine flights, mussels, escargot and burger. The wine flights are a great way to try multiple different wines. The white wine sauce for the mussels and the garlic/parsley butter and puff pastry on the escargot are also very good. I do love that many of the dishes like the mussels, goat cheese, and chicken liver mouse come with a good amount of bread. Their chicken liver mouse is very smooth and a generous helping. It comes with additional things on the side that really complete the dish. The burger is cooked exactly the way you like it and the fries are perfect and crisp. The Russian hill cocktail was surprisingly really sweet. The service is usually very attentive. They do get really busy and can vary depending on where you sit. But the food and drinks always come in a timely manner. I've been to their upper west side location and also had a really good experience there. I'd suggest that one for a more intimate and romantic experience.

I loved it here so much the first time, I had to bring another friend. We sat outside and ordered: - happy hour burger + glass of wine ($21): this was a really solid burger. Fries were thin and so easy to snack on. - happy hour flight of wine: I forgot which ones I got but they were great! Service was great! Everyone was attentive without hovering. I'll definitely keep taking my friends here.

I LOVED my experience here. The waiters were kind and thoughtful, the wine was delicious, and the food was amazing and well coursed out. We had the burger, steak frites, and chicken liver mousse. It's always a win when you're delivered a bag of bread. The lighting is dim, but perfect for a cozy night in. Highly recommend!

We stumbled upon this charming bistro after watching a show nearby. I was in the mood for some food while my dining party wanted some drinks and snacks, and this turned out to be the perfect spot for us. The duck breast was to die for; it was tender and flavorful, and the sweet summer corn was a nice touch. The chicken liver mousse was smooth and tasty, even for someone that isn't a big fan of chicken liver. The evening concluded with getting to know the owner, Olivier, and us walking away with one of the best French meals we had in the city!

Really liked the ambiance. The burger was so so good. The crust was perfect and the burger was a perfect medium rare. Service was good and I liked the wine. Would definitely recommend

Dimly lit restaurant with a good vibe for drinking and catching up with friends or a date. I was looking forward to charcuterie and wine since this came up as a place that had both. Looking around, most customers just had a glass of wine and no food. i dont like wine much but my partner does and said it was just ok. Peaches get Stitches - on the strong side. it was also just ok. 2.5/5 Tete de moine - You definitely need to take this in the small slices which is kinda fun to peel off the flowerlike shape. took a big chunk at first and it was really bad. after doing the petals, it's kinda nutty and strong but goes well with the bread and meat. I prob wouldnt get it again but was not bad. 2/5 Jamon Serano - on the dry and harder side. not that good. 2/5 Chorizo 100% Iberico - much softer and slight spice. not bad. 2.5/5

Dessert: Strawberry flambe' with pistachio ice cream. You didn't really taste the pistachio in the ice cream. If felt like it had no flavor

Their Summer Restaurant week 3 course dinner menu runs until Sept. 9th! Music was at a good level and it wasn't super noisy. The service was EXCELLENT and the food was delicious! Not pictured is my Ginger Spritz mocktail which was just the way I like it...SUPER gingery! The ginger chew at the end made the cocktail perfect. With or without the restaurant week menu, we will be coming back here!

Fairly noisy. It's got a young crowd and lots of celebrations are happening too (at least when I went). Folks know how to have a good time haha

I read lots of good thing about Amelie Wine Bar, If I have to choose one meal between Amelie vs Misirizzi Italian, which one? I know they are different, just want to see anyone who may know a thing to two.…

Not Amelie anyway, just back and was wholley disappointed. Food completely average, steak and fries overcooked and cold and the trout drenched in oil. Can't understand their decent rating.

Wow East Village! You have yourself a gem with Rake Wine Bar! We were waiting for our dinner…read morereservations and decided to stop in here for a pre-dinner drink and bite. I am SO glad we did. The vibe drew us in, they had great music bumpin from the outside, it looked lively and welcoming. Let me tell you- I would have skipped dinner and just stayed here all evening if it was my choice! But alas, my husband wanted a bit more to eat. But let me tell you- their knowledge of wine is PRISTINE! I can't tell you what white wine we had but they captured our tastes perfectly. We also shared a bruschetta and it was deliciouso! I love how friendly the staff was here and how unpretentious it all was. Next time we are in NYC- we will definitely make a point to come visit Rake!

First I'll start with the wine - we ended up trying all three happy hour wines (HH until 7), which the tables favorites were the white and we ended up getting a bottle to split once HH ended (but I really enjoyed the other vino verde option). It was incredibly refreshing and paired well with the many tinned fish options. As you'd expect - it's a pretty massive selection and there is bound to be a varietal and glass for any palate. It's also attached to a wine store - so it's fine to see all the bottles when peaking over. Food-wise - this is where it was hit or miss, they have a pretty extensive menu (with a whole tinned fish section!) and we ended up ordering the buratta on focaccia (buratta was excellent, focaccia was too dense for my tastes), mushroom truffle crostini (way too salty), the flatbread with sliced kielbasa (was fine), halloume (table favorite ), tinned sardines in lemon oil (delicious), tinned smoked trout (my favorite). Overall the four of us were very full at the end of the meal! The space itself felt very relaxing and rustic, and definitely got busier as the night went on (we got there at 6:50 and left around 9). The service was also fast and attentive - even for the amount of tables they were serving. Overall - I'd definitely go back again, and maybe just focus on the wine and another tinned fish selection!

The ssam lettuce wraps were good, though they read a little more like Jewish brisket with a spicy bean sauce than what I expected from a Korean lettuce wrap. Still tasty, just a different vibe. Highly recommend trying their original cocktails ($18). We tried the flower child and the harvest moon. Both were tasty. I would get harvest moon again and again. Perfect balance of Tart, sweet refreshing and strong. Menu items change seasonally so it's delightful to try something new every time you visit. $21 potato croquettes were highly disappointing. Everyone recommended them highly, but I could not understand why. For such price, three tiny balls of fried potato should've been mind blowing, but they were underwhelming and forgettable at best. Skip. $24 giant ricotta stuffed raviolo was delightful. Such soothing comfort food. If I could eat just this, I would be happy. $26 fresh crudo was refreshing and light. Wish the portion was a bit bigger, especially the sides. $38 duck confit was highly advertised, however, it was underwhelming and the least stand out dish. It was solid, but nothing that I would order again or recommend. The duck was on the dry side. Definitely not enough sauce. The cabbage and the cabbage salad were good. Crispy and refreshing. The duck was not the star of this dish. $13 chocolate mousse with strawberry coulis was surprisingly delightful. So light and balanced. Not sweet, but just right to finish a meal. I could eat this dessert every day after every single meal. So simple, yet it hit the spot. Service is very fast and efficient. One of our readers was superb and provided stellar recommendations. Another waiter (young and inexperienced) was very shy and his energy felt very stifling.
