I had an okay experience here when I came for happy hour with my friends. Happy hour ends at 7 pm and is only available at the bar and patio. My friends and I sat outside at the patio. We got: - spritz ($10): this tasted like an Aperol spritz - nothing crazy! - boozy seasonal soda ($10): so this is on the happy hour menu, however the only soda we could choose from was the strawberry basil one... I guess it is their choice of what soda... very odd that we couldn't choose a different one but whatever. So we got 1 with gin and 1 with tequila. I enjoyed this more than the spritz. - cucumber melon mocktail ($12) Where it got weird was when our sever came at 6:50 to tell us they were doing last call. We were still halfway done with our 2nd drink and asked if we could even order another round and he basically said no he had we still had drinks. It was sweet and flavorful and I honestly wanted six rounds of each type that I had it was that good. The burger was nice. I wish I had a photo lol but I was so hungry at the time my only critique was the bun it didn't hold the burger well and my burger pretty much disintegrated into my hands. Excellent farm to table spot in the West Village. It has a cozy atmosphere that you feel welcome the minute you walk in. The food was amazing, even something as low key as carrots were a standout. The crab galette was so tasty, between the freshness of the crab and the foam situation on bottom. My only feedback is that it really seemed like a crab cake and not a galette. The carrots are an underrated achievement. There is so much going on with the flavor profiles but it all works together seamlessly. The halibut may have been my favorite. Perfected seared to a crisp and beyond fresh white and flakey. Dare I say it may have been the best halibut I've ever had. We had an early reservation (6:15) and were seated immediately; the place was mostly empty at that hour. The food was delicious (two of us got the swordfish and the third got the halibut), the service was prompt and pleasant, and the prices were pretty standard (meaning high) for this neighborhood. However, one person in the group had the chilaquiles and wasn't happy with it, claiming it was rather tasteless. Met with a friend here and the interior is superb. The service is great and the bartender was not only warm, he was so knowledgeable about great pairings to have. Came here on a Saturday night with a few friends. I couldn't find the table on resy and thought I'd try my luck my calling and was able to snag a table indoors. The restaurant is nice and intimate looking. I did like the ambiance as I walked in. We were provided with the menu. I asked re: restaurant week menu but was told it's only available Monday to Friday only which was really annoying as that's not what I was told when I made the reservation (I literally asked outright if the restaurant week menu was available and she said yes). Nevertheless we carried on with the regular menu and ordered dishes and appz to share. All the food was pretty good. The chicken (which was their special of the night) was nice and tender, really enjoyable. The mushroom tartare was also great, not every day you see this on the menu of many restaurants. I would have given 4 to 5 stars however the misinformation was pretty annoying. Additionally during the ordering process, our table felt we were somewhat rushed as the employees kept asking if we were ready to order despite having only sat down and ordered drinks however I don't think this was intentional as we weren't asked to leave post meal - perhaps just being over proactive. read more

Even our ultra-moist Olive Oil-Almond Cake with apple compote was a win. Cocktail-wise, those craving something not too sweet will enjoy the Easy Going, while those wanting bold flavors will like the citrusy/smokey Orange U Mezi. This place catered to both not sacrificing taste , creativity. Every dish we had tasted delicious and were presented well like a true farm to table style . To start we ordered the focaccia and Little Gem salad to share, the focaccia was warm dense and slightly sweet and oh so delicious dipped in the olive oil with chili flakes. The salad had shaved cucumber & radish and grated cheddar, which a creamy dreamy ranch style dressing (I dipped the bread in it to get every last drop!) Our entrees were sirloin steak over vegetables in a rich brown sauce (my husband's dinner), and I had the Chicken Cacciatore ravioli with crispy skin(oh that was heaven)...we each switched a good sized bite each other's way. This has historically been a nice restaurant. Nothing to write home about, so to speak, but always consistent, pleasant, lovely surroundings. We live nearby and have brought friends there for years. Recently, however, we had a really bad experience. I ordered two appetizers; one never came and the other, while tolerable, was around a step above what you might find at a chain Mexican restaurant. The disturbing aspect was service; with only about five tables occupied, the second dish of mine never came. No one came around to ask and I waited in vain. Then the item was still on the bill when we went to pay. When I asked about it, the manager, who had not come near our table, had not served our table, lied blankly to my face, insisting he had put the dish on our table with his own hands. This is odd; he was NOT serving our table. Two other perfectly pleasant servers had. This was weird and utterly chilling--to have a kind of sociopathic gaze insisting in grand detail he had placed the dish on our table, when he hadn't been anywhere near us. This was infuriating--in addition to being just weird. It was a holiday evening, and the restaurant ruined it. We won't be back. Perhaps this one has run its course; there have been at least four restaurants in this location over the years. Maybe time to move on, Mary Lane? read more
