I just picked my car up from an inspection and was very happy with their attention to detail; they replaced a missing lug nut on one of the tires, changed out a tail light, did an oil change in addition to replacing the catalytic converter (which I was previously told needed replacing by another mechanic as well). The bulk of the charge was for parts and the cost of labor was very modest and fair. My fiancé knows a lot about cars and assures me Vince always does a great job. Highly recommend!

Courteous, knowledgeable, and great at juggling phone calls while taking a small line in the late afternoon. I overheard them offering a drop off for a customer, fixing a minor thing that came up after service was performed for another, and handling multiple walk ins with zero pushback or attitude. I legitimately was shocked. Never have I seen this level of competence and service in an auto shop. I asked if they could service my electric car on future returns and was told it was not a problem, as long as I made an appointment. After all of this, I was back on the road within 45 minutes for only $27 out the door. That's half what my OLD shop charges. Amazing bang for your buck and the respect was top-notch. In 2021 my tire popped and I was only able to get the car within close range of their shop. Someone came over with me to take a look and they helped me get the spare changed until a new tire could be ordered. They did not need to stop their work to help me, especially when I was not even parked in their lot. it says a lot about them!! most recently, winter storms and ice caused major damage to my hybrid vehicle's battery and additionally, AAA caused extra damage when I called for a jump, and they handled it incorrectly. Fountain Street accepted a tow on a Friday during this time when they had 0 appointments available for 3 weeks. Anthony was able to get my battery replaced, and they kept my vehicle over the weekend so they could address the electrical issues that were not there before the battery was dead/AAA caused damage. I had my car back that Wednesday. I am a single female living close by in Manayunk for the last 10 years, and I am disappointed to have ever used any other shop. I will absolutely be switching to regular service with these guys. They are kind, laid back, and in my case, made me feel confident they could handle the issues rather than causing me more stress over the unknown. That is invaluable service to me and not easy to find!

I'm in my seventies and live less than a mile away. When I asked if I could get a ride back home after dropping off my car, I was told NO... I'm the only one here (which is not true, as it's a father and son operation... the son is the mechanic... the father handles the phones and taking payments) and I can't leave the shop. Now this would be a legitimate answer IF the following hadn't happened: Last summer, I called to make an appointment and for an entire week, probably at least thirty calls, no one answered the phone or returned my call after leaving a message. Turns out that they had closed down for vacation without leaving any kind of message on their phone system that they were closed for the week. When I finally got through the next week and questioned why there was no phone message that they were closed, I was told that it was too complicated and time consuming to do. So, it's OK to close for a week with no information available whatsoever, but can't drive someone home, which would take maybe ten minutes roundtrip. Now, I'm supposed to walk home, and back again to pick the car back up, in 15 to 20 degree weather? Hung up and got an appointment at Wark's in Merion, where I can walk to in less than a minute. I didn't get notified of the diagnosis until 4pm and couldn't get my car back until the next day. The humming noise could not be identified and suggested I change a tie rod. I thought this was the issue. I called on Tuesday morning to get an estimated time to pick up my car I was told 3pm. I arrived on time at 3pm since I had to get to work that evening, I was charged for the tie rod and sent on my way. Driving back home, I noticed the humming sound was still there and even louder. I looked at the repair bill and it stayed that the humming sound was possibly from the rear differential and could cost upwards of 2k dollars, I was shocked they didn't tell me this in person when I picked up the car. I called to get more information on this and they told me they could not exactly point out the source of the humming sound and that they were only 70% sure it was the rear differential. For 2k I wasn't sure if I could trust them to do the repairs given my experience so far. I'm very disappointed with the lack of communication and lack of solution finding to the problem I walked in with. About an hour later, I didn't feel safe with the car driving as is and called back asking to go ahead with the rear differential repair. They told me that they will shop around for parts and give me a call back. It is now Thursday and have not heard back from the shop. Terrible service. Go somewhere else

When I asked if they'd be able to skip some of the recommended repairs due to budgetary constraints, he refused, saying they would get a bad reputation if they let a car leave without doing every possible repair, and they would refuse to service my car rather than work around my budget. That is predatory upcharging in a nutshell. I definitely would not trust them to responsibly and fairly assess and repair my vehicle without overcharging me for unnecessary work.
