Stopped by this place on our way out from the Tooele Temple open house. I would give it a solid 4 stars, it reminds me a lot of Dairy Keen in Heber. I had the American Burger, I honestly didn't know it had pastrami on it so it wasn't my favorite but I also didn't hate it, I think I would have liked just a normal Cheeseburger more so I'll have to try that the next time I am in the Tooele area. I know my kids loved the grilled cheese sandwiches and I saw others ordering it too so I feel like might be a staple at American Burger. read more

After leaving a review from this past Saturday visit, I have more questions after talking to several people. The girl charged me over $15.00 for a combo meal when the cheese burger is only $5.70. She said by putting my burger in a combo raised the price over $10.00 additional dollars. Plus she said she couldn't tell me how much individual items were due to the system and my receipt was on the bag, it wasn't. People have said they haven't ran into that problem yet but they will keep an eye out when they go there. I will not pay $5.00 for fries or $5.00 for a drink. read more

But best of all , a young , vivacious wonderful young man came over to ask me how everything was , I thought he was the owner !! I'd like to start by saying I have had American Burger twice in my life, first time was a couple months ago and the food was okay, nothing bad about it. The second time I got it was yesterday for lunch and I felt sick less than an hour after finishing my meal. A couple hours after work I felt extremely sick and was vomiting all throughout the night and morning. I had to go to the ER because it was so bad and I spent 7 hours there trying to control my vomiting and get my hydration up. I will say I would have gone to an urgent care if I could cause I don't agree that it was to the point where I needed the ER but nothing else was open and I was throwing up every 5-10 minutes and I would not have been able to drive all the way to an urgent care in slc. read more

Holy cow. It's hard to believe that it's been 5 years since my first review. I've only been twice more in that time, but after a particularly sleepy moment in the car, I needed some sugar for the drive back to SLC and their shake did not disappoint. I mean, in the name of safety, I grabbed a delicious chocolate banana shake and I made quick work of it. You'll be happy to know that it helped fend off a case of the sleepies and I arrived home safe and sound. I still remember that day romping through the hills with my pup. She was with me again on this last trip, filthy, happy, smiling, and grateful that I could get a shake to bring us both home alive. Have you ever tried to eat french fries with a dog in the car? Food hasn't changed but today a basic cheeseburger combo cost $11 and then they hit me up for a tip for the service of handing me my food through the drive up window, not once smiling or doing anything friendly, and completely ignoring my request for extra fry sauce. Everything I had was average, and not quite as good as the likes of Apollo Burger or the other Greek type burger places. I wouldn't go out of my way to go here again for the food, but would stop by for the shakes and sweets. Ultimately the burger was much less juicy and flavorful than the competition, the fries were a bit undercooked and floppy, and the fried mushrooms I got were definitively without flavor. The particular day we were there the owner was holding court at a nearby table with extended family. I over heard a few comments about how they marinate their chicken, etc. They were all good. He really cared about the food, OTOH, that didn't stop them from overcooking the patty like expected. However, the fixings were first class, including the proverbial pastrami. My wife got the Gyro. We were passing through town and thought to soak up some local flavor. So glad we stopped here. Hearing from both Yelp and the cashier that the pastrami (the American Burger) is their famous thing to eat, my husband ordered it. I safely chose a regular burger. Not having large appetites, we opted for the junior burger and only did one combo option. That was plenty for both of us. While neither burger was jaw dropping, we did enjoy them and was impressed with the establishment. The cashier was very friendly and helpful. I later saw her attentively clearing tables -- something that I find missing in other establishments, which is also a pet peeve not to have a clean place to eat. Driving past American Burger last week, I noticed the marquee enquiring if there were any experienced managers available for hire. Judging by my order this evening, I am going to assume that there are no experienced managers available. 1. I do not paying 20 dollars for an artery hardening meal as long as I get everything I ordered, but you barely got 30% of it correct 2. The only thing not cold was one of the items you got incorrect. I guess I should be grateful that it was hot, but I'd be more grateful if it was correct 3. A crew is only as strong as it's leadership. I can only assume that the person who thrust my paper sack with greasy fingers, no mask, 39 % correct, and a look of panicked urgency, was the manager, ( I'm 90% sure it was the manager) and not of the experienced sort.
