About a year ago we started the process to replace our windows, door, and garage door. We saw a neighbor in our sub that had exactly what we had wanted in a garage door. We boldly went up to him (we had never met before)to see who installed his door. That was the first time we had heard of American Door Systems. My daughter and I went to the showroom to see what they had to offer. I was hoping to get at least a ballpark figure for the garage door and front door. We didn't know the gentleman we were chatting with was the owner( this is a family run business). We still did our due diligence and got a few other estimates. We decided to go with ADS. They came out to do a precise measurement, little did we know that was the owners son. We were over the moon happy with our new doors. Fast forward a few months. It was time to replace the windows and get a storm door that neither my husband nor my self thought about. Again we interviewed a few companies. We then had ADS come out. Again we were very happy with what they said. Our order came in about 10 weeks. The team showed up and worked diligently. They were very thorough to clean as they went. We even had two new windows cut out. As the one man was cutting the brick and drywall the other had the vacuum sucking up any dust and debris. Our picture window wall has wainscoting. They had built window frame boxes for each window to "dress it up", but took that one back to have it resized so we didn't have to take off the wainscoting. I can't say enough about this company and their employees. I would recommend them to everyone read more

Worst Company I have ever dealt with in my life. Poor installation, shoddy workmanship, poor follow up response. I even got to the point of documenting all of the problems we had with American Door Systems. The owner is arrogant, obnoxious, hard headed and will not return our calls type of person. They had to keep reordering things for the front door. The stain they put on a $5000.00 front door wore off in two years. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!! read more

Our experience with them was exceptional. They installed our new front door. We have gotten many compliments on it and the installation is high quality It took a little longer than anticipated but that seems to be the norm these days. Also, we needed a replacement part for the blinds inside our patio doors. They tracked it down for us and installed it. Poor communication & customer svc. John/owner came out to measure for full house window replacement for my 2 story Rochester Hills home Aug 2021, still waiting for a quote! Since he did not bring samples, I went to their showroom as soon as he left my home & John showed me their windows.to me about their windows. John promised me a quote by the weekend. I called several times, was told they would get it to me in a few days every time I called. I can only assume they cannot handle large jobs in which I was wanting to get done asap & paying cash. This company replaced several sliders for me. The trim and paintwork were extremely shoddy. They forgot to install the toe locks. I had to pursue them for several months to have them installed. They kept forgetting to order them or lose them. They finally found them and wanted me to install them myself. read more

Most horrible customer service. DO not buy anything from this company. In July 2018 purchased double front doors. After the arrival of the doors in September, It took them 6 weeks to get them completely installed. They would send a guy to install and then some one else needed to key and then the manufacturer sent the wrong thing. It went on and on. And if you call them they never call back and if you continue to call they treat you terrible. They installed incorrect weather stripping and in Feb when the weather dropped below zero I had frost on the inside of my door. When I called John he said well it is too cold to send some one out. I had to wait 2 weeks to get fixed. All the while loosing heat from my home. It has never been fixed properly and when I call them they cope an attitude. I only want what I paid for. I was also told it is normal to have frost on your door inside when that cold. I have lived in this home for 30 years. Never have I had frost on my doors... I spent over $5000 for these doors. read more

The quality of these windows are great, energy efficient & the look is high end. The installers, Gordon & Tony did an amazing job. Ordered a door in July at installation time came, the factory made the door wrong. Sales Rep over the phone the same day to the installer whom tell us while we are on the phone, they will take $500 off (not to keep this door) and reorder and they were sorry. I don't blame them for this. They promised ETA of 4 wks., it was 6 wks. and never expected sooner. We order a window 2 wks. later, in August for front casement windows with blinds in them, 40 min. appt. no detail misunderstood and everything was written down with an estimate of $1900 but sales rep didn't use a carbon copy invoice and have me sign so he used the paper he wrote on which was a huge mistake. He ended up entering our order as double hinged windows with blinds and the order cost actually $1700 range, less cost but wrong windows. In between both orders and having to reschedule installations, you have to follow-up on the "so called" we will call you back with a date. Two separate times, I had to call back and they said oh yeah, there is a note here, didn't anyone call you back. Um, no. When all was said and done, they didn't honor the $500 off, only $200 off the door and $200 off the window which was agreed. It was suppose to be the owner I finalized the bill and the coward wasn't even there. How convenient. I wasn't going in there to give a piece of my mind just finalize the invoice. My lesson learned, if you are re-quoted for even the retailers or manufacturers mistake then ask for an adjusted invoice so you know their word is golden. Not so much with this company. The only good thing about this company is their installers were great on both appointments and knew what they were doing! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE! read more

Once you order the doors, then you start to recieve Horrible customer service, they don't return phone calls, always late to scheduled appointments, give you the run around with installation dates, they don't perform quality checks of doors prior to installation, paint job was terrible. Our doors had to be reordered and installed 3 times due to 5 major issues with the doors that were found once installed and the first installation was horrible as well. Still unhappy with the 3rd door, so asked for some money back to just be done with them, which they did do. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY WITH THIS COMPANY. read more

I ordered a new entry way door on 9-10-14. Part of the contract included r&r of the existing storm door. So far they have installed two entry way doors (they did not measure correctly for the first door) and tried unsuccessfully to re-install the storm door both times. A week ago they told me they would be back the next day to finish adjusting the storm door. The next day came and went - no installer showed up. I called the store - installer will be there "tomorrow morning". No show. Installer called and said he would be there the next morning. No show that day or any day since then. The storm door still is not closing properly and this is 12-2-14 - almost three months from the time I placed the order! read more

We had American Door Systems install a large doorwall in the kitchen. Nick and his co-worker where extremely professional and very skilled. They went above and beyond the scope of the job and made sure the job area was clean when they finished. The door looks beautiful in the space.
