Was good but when I looked under the bun it was two kids chicken strips on a bun. Pulled pork sandwich w siracha aioli was amazing. But the star of the show, waffle fries!!! My husband and I used American Flavors for our wedding on our ranch and EVERYONE LOVED IT!! So efficient with their timing (we had 80 ppl), very friendly and accommodating, the owners are hands-on with absolutely everything, they came out and walked our property when we couldn't be there to make sure that everything would work smoothly the day of, always answered their phones as well as any and all questions. Another food truck experience at my company. The truck was offering 5 different meals the day that I got to try it out. I went with the Backyard Cheese Burger and waffle fries. While the sandwich did not look very fancy, or have fancy ingredients like gold leaf, it made up for with flavor. The burger was cooked perfectly, not over done, probably medium well. It was juicy and flavorful and was delicious. The waffle fries were hearty, substantial, large, and tasted great too. The staff on the truck were fast and friendly. This is a review for the food truck that was selling food at a UC San Diego event. The burger and the pulled pork sandwich was okay; would have preferred my buns for both sandwiches to be toasted -- this sets you apart from all the other places that serve cold buns. The suite at Liberty Public Market that used to house Stuffed! is now the brick and mortar location of the American Flavors food truck. They have a similar but slightly smaller menu than what the truck offers. Burgers, hot dogs, and hot sandwiches (chicken, pulled pork) were the featured items. All of the hamburgers are served with two all-natural Angus beef patties and two slices of cheese so you are getting a lot of meat and paying a commensurate price. I picked the Pulled Pork sandwich with a side of seasoned waffle fries ($12). The smoked pulled pork came with a couple of pieces of bacon topped with a BBQ sauce, pickles, and a house-made slaw. The sauce was more sweet than tangy, but it complemented the moist pork very well. The waffle fries were addictive as I could have eaten a large basket of them. For quality and value, I gave this experience a 3.5 star rating. read more

Well... In all my years I've never had bad or disgusting food off a truck until today. I really don't know where to start. I ordered up The "Blue bacon burger" Which List out what's on it, blue cheese crumbles, Bacon, spring mix, onions, tomatoes. The burger turned out to be more of a vegetarian burger with blue cheese spread. There wasn't any bacon that I could see or taste and there wasn't much of a meat patty at all. The meat Patty reminded me of a big Mac that you buy at McDonald's very thin and very small. It was more of a vegetarian blue cheese burger because the only thing you could taste was the blue cheese spread extremely overpowering and I like blue cheese. Then let's move onto the price. it's listed out at $12.50 but when I paid the total was $14.22 which of course I didn't realize until after I paid. (My Fault, I should've had them cancel it right there) I just got the burger no sides which means they charged an extra dollar for The privilege of me using my credit card. I wish that was posted or explained to me so I could've paid cash! I definitely am soured on the food truck experience now and won't be going back to a food truck for a very long time. It doesn't get any better than this! We had a little community gathering and they RAVED about the fries and all the food! Ornela was great when coordinating and I could tell she was busy but made time to make sure we were set for our event and even moved some things around to make sure we had the right truck! They got to the event ahead of schedule, set up was fast, they helped us organize the tickets efforts so we kept count along the way of how many guests we were serving and it was a HUGE HIT! Solid burger, nice portion. They however forgot the avocado and bacon on my bacon avocado burger. I don't think it was worth the $19 I paid but I was pretty pleased otherwise. Burger is a nice manageable lunch size and the waffle fries were crispy and hot. American Flavors was parked downtown on the Wednesday food truck day. I'd probably go to burger lounge or karl strauss if I am paying north of $15 for a burger but I'd definitely give other items on the menu a shot based on what I had. read more

NOW: A few weeks ago had a bad experience waiting and then not having any chicken and more than half the menu was chicken items. Left a review below and was messaged by the owner who addressed my issues, concerns and apologized for any inconvenience and offered a complimentary meal on them to make up for it. This time around had a way better experience with Maria working behind the counter was immediately welcomed and she promptly made my meal and had no wait she didn't disappear more than five mins just to restock some items from the back but she made sure everyone was taken care of in line and food served prior to leaving. OUTSTANDING service from this employee and great customer service on the owner to reach out and fix a customers complaint!! A FEW WEEKS AGO 2 STAR REVIEW: I think the food could be good but service is slow and only one person working to take orders and cook and when he runs to the storage is gone up to ten mins. Wow, this food truck really changed my mind about how pulled pork sandwiches should be! Another food truck that came to my workplace, American Flavors was a new sight here. Expect to spend around $10-15 on a sandwich or burger along with some fries. I ended up getting the daily special which was a pulled pork sandwich on a brioche bun with Sriracha aioli which also came with truck made chips. This pulled pork sandwiches was bar none, the best pulled pork sandwich I've ever had. The pork was cut into thick chunks that were charred and smokey like a perfectly grilled rack of barbecue, stripped off the bone and cut up into amazing pulled pork. Throw in thick little bacon bits and you've got a sandwich made in heaven. I only give four stars, I would give 4.5 if I could because the chips were not as amazing as the pulled pork sandwich. I wanted to delve into the mystery of their truck made criss-cut fries but for an extra $3? My frugal self could not push myself to do it. We had an employee event on 3/21/23 and the food and service was amazing! Our employees were very happy with the menu choices and their food. I personally had the Pulled Pork Grilled Cheese with the Parmesan Garlic Fries and it was delicious. Hands down the best grilled cheese I have ever had. They ran out of bacon after less than 2 hours of being open at Balboa Park. And the best part is that 7 out of their 10 dishes on the menu has bacon. Sample conversation overheard: Customer: I'd like the BLTA burger. Cashier: We have no more bacon is that OK? Customer: Sure. If it were me I would say "Give me a break, and you're still gonna charge me full price?" It's like ordering a sandwich without bread. I discovered American Flavors at the California Center for the Arts during their FREE first Wednesday concert series. The smell of their delicious American comfort food caught my attention and I had to try it! I ended up ordering their BBQ Hamburger and it was seriously the best burger I have ever had. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. The bun was perfectly toasted and the actual hamburger was savory. This burger was topped by a mouth watering melts in your mouth pulled pork that was perfectly seasoned. The vegetables were spring mixed like and were super fresh! The chips that came with the burger were delicious too.. not salty and cooked to a crisp! Just the way I like it. The cost of the food was reasonable for what you were getting. first, they should put " around the word "substitution"...if you don't like their chips you can "substitute" them with fries. American Flavors is the perfect name for this food truck! The George Washington with jalapeños was juicy and flavorful. They did not skimp out on the sliders either, it was overstuffed with the most flavorful pork. The fries were perfectly seasoned and delicious. Round it out with an IBC root beer and you're good to go. The staff was probably what makes the food truck successful, probably some if the most accommodating and kind people in the food trucking business. Got a Cheeseburger there. Nothing fancy. Meat, Cheese, Bun. They offer something like that on the kids menu (same size patty) and offer something with other toppings on the regular menu.
