    Spinach scramble, very good.

While visiting family, had breakfast at American Host. It had a really home type feeling. It was clean and not fancy. Our server was amazing, very attentive. Even the host was great, very friendly. The food was excellent! I would definitely eat here again!

Update since the owner messaged me. It was 3 eggs & the $30 included tax & tip. Again it was nice. But a bit pricy for what it was.

    Fantastic Chicken Fried Steak!

Flew into the Lompoc Airport to try this restaurant. It was totally worth it! It's about a 7 min Uber trip as it's on the other side of town. I got the Chicken Fried Steak which is as good as it gets. The fresh "hot out of the oven" biscuits were awesome. My son got a burger and it was huge. Lean, high quality beef. He loved it and said the fries were hot and crispy. The coffee was excellent! It was crowded and we got the only open table but could have been seated at the counter if we wanted. Service was great and especially friendly. Really good coffee, which always makes a good breakfast even better. We will definitely be back!

Finding the location and parking is pretty easy. We came on a Saturday morning and got seated pretty quickly although they were pretty busy. The food was mediocre at best. Large servings for hungry folks. Coffee snobs would not like the coffee but it did its job. Everything was a little too salty for me but my family enjoyed their meals. I would explore other restaurants in the area for breakfast next time. Service was just ok, but they were nonstop busy. Ambiance is nonexistent but it's to be expected.

We were in the Lompoc area during the holidays and looking for a Breakfast place to eat. My Girlfriend found American Host Restaurant on Yelp and decided to go and try them. Just a heads up guys, the restaurant has parking outside. They have parking in the back, but depending on the time of day, it could be a challenge in my opinion. There is also street parking outside as well. When we arrived, we were welcomed and waited for a bit to be seated. The host brought us over to our booth and handed us our menu. Our booth that we sat in was small in my opinion and since the restaurant was packed, we took what was available at the time. Looking at the menu, we decided to get: American Host Breakfast w/Ham Steak, Blueberry Cakes (4), Homemade Biscuits and Gravy & side of Hash Brown. The American Host Breakfast I ordered came with 4 hotcakes, 2 fresh eggs, Hash Brown and Ham Steak. We waited for our order and it was not too bad, considering that it was the morning rush hour. Our food arrived and it looked like it was prepared fresh and the portions were very generous in my opinion. The American Host Breakfast was good and I was satisfied with everything on the dish. My favorite was the Ham Steak; had flavor and nicely cooked. The only thing I noticed was the Blueberry Pancakes. I thought it might come with Blueberry Compote, to give it an extra flavor. Yes, the blueberries were in inside the pancakes, so it was ok. The gravy with the biscuits were good; rich and creamy. What I really noticed and stood out was the small US Flags on the dishes. I thought that was very cool and patriotic in my opinion. Our overall experience was good and we enjoyed our Breakfast. In my personal opinion, I would recommend American Host Restaurant, if you are in the Lompoc area or close by. Next time we go, we would like to sit in another booth area and want to try their other items on their menu.

    Delicious biscuits & gravy!

When I want a delicious home cooked meal I know American Host is the perfect spot! They have the best biscuits & gravy and their chicken fried steak is amazing too! For lunch their BLT is one of my favorites! Not only is the service fast and attentive, the ambiance is a nostalgic and welcoming Americana vibe. It's no wonder this spot is a local favorite!

To dine in a hotel lobby is usually to surrender to culinary mediocrity--a landscape of overpriced…read moreclub sandwiches and transient fatigue. What one does not anticipate stumbling upon is a stealthy, spectacular triumph of flavor hiding in plain sight. Let us begin with the revelations from the kitchen, which operates with a muscular generosity completely unbothered by its zip code. Consider the bacon-wrapped jalapeño poppers. In lesser hands, these are a greasy, afterthought appetizer. Here, they are elevated to a robust study in textures: the shattering crispness of perfectly rendered pork fat giving way to the bright, vegetal heat of the pepper. It is an unpretentious masterpiece. The ribeye tacos follow suit, arriving with staggering, bountiful portions that mock the typical stinginess of hotel dining. The beef carries a charred, undeniable richness, proving that this kitchen harbors serious, hidden talent. Even the bar delivers a shock to the system: a Winter's Bourbon concoction that possesses a seasonal gravity and warmth you would expect from a velvet-roped speakeasy, not a lobby counter. Yet, to experience this hidden gem, one must navigate the bizarre, static theater of the front-of-house. Hospitality is, fundamentally, a kinetic art. It is a dance of invisible choreography, anticipating needs and clearing plates. The manager on duty, however, seemed entirely unaware of this requirement, remaining locked in a state of profound, almost geological stillness. Anchored to a single table and clutching a siren-branded Starbucks cup as if it were a talisman against actual labor, they never breached a five-foot radius. One longed to see them traverse the room--a brisk walk to inspect a corner booth, a sweeping pivot to direct traffic, or simply the basic physical act of placing one foot in front of the other to confirm they were, in fact, part of the restaurant's ecosystem. This visual dissonance extends to the bartender, who engineered my exceptional bourbon while engaged in the vigorous, open-mouthed mastication of chewing gum. It is a casual defiance of professional decorum that makes the drink's excellence all the more baffling. In the end, this restaurant is a profound paradox. It is a genuine, undeniable find--a place where you will feast remarkably well on ribeye and rendered fat. Just come prepared to marvel at the food, while wondering if the management might eventually remember how to walk.
