The dining area is small and feels a bit crowded but being sat was quick, and the service was good. The food is phenomenal. I had the French Toast, Eggs, Bacon and Biscuits & Gravy. Everything came out steaming, but not too hot to eat. I really enjoyed the way they scramble the eggs and the portions were perfect. I was under the impression that the coffee was complimentary as the cups were already on the table when we were sat. I was not warned it was at cost, and was slightly disappointed to find the extremely low grade coffee was priced at nearly three dollars. The restaurant was packed. We were greeted by a friendly host , after only waiting 10 minutes, we were seated in a nice booth tucked away in the corner which I like. Drinks and food were brought out quickly, our waitress was very pleasant and attentive. French toasts were really good , crunchy on the outside and fluffy inside. We were traveling to Santa Barbara from Santa Clara and stopped at Lompoc for the night and decided to try this place for breakfast. And what a great experience this has been! This is an authentic American restaurant with two separate sections - old and a new addition. I am guessing this is an old restaurant that was initially on the right side of the entrance and later got expanded into the newer space on the left. We were a party of two and reached the restaurant around 8:45 am and the parking lot was already quite full and we had to wait a while after putting our names at the reception. Most of the other customers looked regulars at this place and seemed local with us being the only tourists passing through the town. We got our table after 10-15 minutes. The place was quite jam-packed but we had our own sweet niche and loved the table that we were assigned. We ordered a light breakfast with omlette and ham and a 2-egg omlette with ham, cheese and mushroom with hash browns. The food arrived within 15 minutes and the plates were delicious. We loved the small American flags on the food (see pics). The portion sizes were perfect for us and quite in line with the prices being charged. We really had a great start to the day with breakfast at this place and I highly recommend to try out this place. read more

I love the atmosphere of this restaurant really warm and inviting! It has lots of signs with warm encouraging sayings on them. The food was really great too. But the service was not great. The server, lady in her 40s or 50s dark hair dark eye liner wasn't the nicest. We were sat down by the hostess. And we waited a couple minutes for the server which is fine we were looking at the menu however when she came for the first time to greet us there was no greeting what's so ever. She just came around the corner and said what do you want. I said hello, then I think she realized oh I didn't even say hello. I understand if you are busy and overwhelmed but there was not customer service skills there what's so ever with her. She was cold and it just gave me the impression she isn't a very nice person. She definitely shouldn't be in the service industry. Absolutely fell in love with this place. It is a must every time I come to visit my sister. Everything we have eaten here and shared along with the family has been really good! But my go to is the chicken fried steak with the yummy southern style white gravy. My niece gets the ham steak every time and it has a nice cut on it too, not a thinly sliced one like other places usually have. When it comes to the waffles we've tried lots of varieties, ALL have been awesome, but my favorite is whatever fresh fruit of the season they are offering at the time.
