Stopped in for a breakfast with family while visiting Lompoc. The diner was well kept and spotless! I decided on their breakfast burrito and my wife their children's eggs and French. Our meals came out quickly, were well presented, and delicious M. Our waitress kept our coffee full! We truly enjoyed the visit! Hope to stop I again inthe future!

While visiting family, had breakfast at American Host. It had a really home type feeling. It was clean and not fancy. Our server was amazing, very attentive. Even the host was great, very friendly. The food was excellent! I would definitely eat here again!

Update since the owner messaged me. It was 3 eggs & the $30 included tax & tip. Again it was nice. But a bit pricy for what it was.

Flew into the Lompoc Airport to try this restaurant. It was totally worth it! It's about a 7 min Uber trip as it's on the other side of town. I got the Chicken Fried Steak which is as good as it gets. The fresh "hot out of the oven" biscuits were awesome. My son got a burger and it was huge. Lean, high quality beef. He loved it and said the fries were hot and crispy. The coffee was excellent! It was crowded and we got the only open table but could have been seated at the counter if we wanted. Service was great and especially friendly. Really good coffee, which always makes a good breakfast even better. We will definitely be back!

Finding the location and parking is pretty easy. We came on a Saturday morning and got seated pretty quickly although they were pretty busy. The food was mediocre at best. Large servings for hungry folks. Coffee snobs would not like the coffee but it did its job. Everything was a little too salty for me but my family enjoyed their meals. I would explore other restaurants in the area for breakfast next time. Service was just ok, but they were nonstop busy. Ambiance is nonexistent but it's to be expected.

We were in the Lompoc area during the holidays and looking for a Breakfast place to eat. My Girlfriend found American Host Restaurant on Yelp and decided to go and try them. Just a heads up guys, the restaurant has parking outside. They have parking in the back, but depending on the time of day, it could be a challenge in my opinion. There is also street parking outside as well. When we arrived, we were welcomed and waited for a bit to be seated. The host brought us over to our booth and handed us our menu. Our booth that we sat in was small in my opinion and since the restaurant was packed, we took what was available at the time. Looking at the menu, we decided to get: American Host Breakfast w/Ham Steak, Blueberry Cakes (4), Homemade Biscuits and Gravy & side of Hash Brown. The American Host Breakfast I ordered came with 4 hotcakes, 2 fresh eggs, Hash Brown and Ham Steak. We waited for our order and it was not too bad, considering that it was the morning rush hour. Our food arrived and it looked like it was prepared fresh and the portions were very generous in my opinion. The American Host Breakfast was good and I was satisfied with everything on the dish. My favorite was the Ham Steak; had flavor and nicely cooked. The only thing I noticed was the Blueberry Pancakes. I thought it might come with Blueberry Compote, to give it an extra flavor. Yes, the blueberries were in inside the pancakes, so it was ok. The gravy with the biscuits were good; rich and creamy. What I really noticed and stood out was the small US Flags on the dishes. I thought that was very cool and patriotic in my opinion. Our overall experience was good and we enjoyed our Breakfast. In my personal opinion, I would recommend American Host Restaurant, if you are in the Lompoc area or close by. Next time we go, we would like to sit in another booth area and want to try their other items on their menu.

When I want a delicious home cooked meal I know American Host is the perfect spot! They have the best biscuits & gravy and their chicken fried steak is amazing too! For lunch their BLT is one of my favorites! Not only is the service fast and attentive, the ambiance is a nostalgic and welcoming Americana vibe. It's no wonder this spot is a local favorite!

Oh man what a great find today!! My wife and I travel to Lompoc/Buellton/Solvang area maybe 5-6 times a year. We typically go to another diner in Buellton only because we had never found this place. And trust me when I say American Host Restaurant did not disappoint. The staff greeted us upon arrival and our names on the list for breakfast. It was about 10-15 minutes before we were seated. According to our waitress Mackenzie they get really busy there, so be prepared to wait especially in the summer months she said. Mackenzie was so gracious and even had time chat us up for a bit. It gets loud in here because of the crowds inside and out so don't expect a quiet service. But it's worth the wait and the noise lol. The food was good and made to order. My wife's scramble was fresh and filling it's 930pm now just now had dinner because we were still full from breakfast I'm not even kidding. We didn't have lunch lol. My pancakes were extremely filling so yeah I was full. Don't think twice about visiting Lompoc and stopping here. It's great food, large portions and reasonable prices. We'll be back soon.

The check-in process was a breeze; we simply shared our party size and dining preferences. Before we knew it, we were seated in about 15 to 20 minutes. Now, let me tell you about the atmosphere. Inside, it was quite lively and a bit loud, so we opted for a charming outdoor seating area that felt much more relaxed. I couldn't help but notice how the staff, dressed in traditional Danish attire, radiated warmth and friendliness while being impressively efficient. For my meal, I went with a Danish pancake accompanied by Danish-style sausage--absolutely divine! I also swapped my eggs for hashbrowns, and wow, these have to be the best hashbrowns I've had in years. My child chose a waffle topped with fluffy whipped cream and a glass of orange juice, which she raved about, claiming it tasted like fresh-squeezed goodness. The portions were more than generous, and the prices were surprisingly reasonable. All in all, it was a delightful brunch experience that I'd gladly recommend!

I usually order the Kay's Orcutt Original with eggs, home fries (or hash browns), and a choice of meat, so I've had the same breakfast enough times to notice the changes over the years. My biggest gripe is the inconsistency. The eggs don't seem to be the same quality they used to be, but the biggest disappointment has been the potatoes. Their home fries used to be the best I've ever had. They were one of the main reasons I kept coming back. Now, it feels like you never know what you're going to get. More often than not they're undercooked, leaving the potatoes hard in the middle. On the rare occasion I mention it, the replacement usually comes back overcooked instead. It's frustrating because all I'm hoping for is the perfectly cooked home fries they used to be known for. I can't quite put my finger on everything that's changed, but the overall quality just doesn't feel as consistent as it once was. The food is still pretty good, and that's why I continue to support them, but I definitely find myself coming less often than I used to. This place used to knock it out of the park almost every visit. I genuinely hope they can get back to that level because I'd love to see one of my longtime favorite breakfast spots thrive again.

I love gravy and could have used a little bit more but honestly I think it was fine for a normal person plus remember we go to go order so I suspect it soaked up a little on the drive. The staff threw in pepper and Tapatio which the hubs loves. I had Yellow Bird Blue Agave Sriracha in my travel trailer and used a little on it. OMG! It was so good! The potatoes had a nice crunch on them. That gravy was amazing. The biscuit was great, had a bite and saved the rest for later. The hubs managed to eat his whole plate and was stuffed! I might have eaten 1/4 of mine saving it for later. We will for sure be back!
