We stayed in the Bella Vista honeymoon suite. I loved it. It allowed my husband and I to talk. There's a calming and clarifying vibe to the room and the place in general. Spacious, clean, and comfortable. I would stay here again if I was in the area 100%. I think about this place from time to time. I actually miss it!

Rock Creek Inn is a short walk/drive from a very well stocked grocery store and various restaurants. Downtown Georgetown is also a short walk in the other direction. It's such a time capsule of California history! We used Rock Creek Inn as our home base for exploring California gold rush historical sites such as Sutters Mill at the Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park, where gold was discovered, and the historic downtown districts of Auburn and Placerville. We had wonderful visits at Jollity Goat Farm in Garden Valley and Hooverville Orchards, an oasis amidst the family owned orchards, with a yummy bakery, too. Being Bay Area Californians, we very much appreciated the quieter and slower pace of life in the countryside. We plan to return for river rafting, hiking, and more fun with our dog. Rock Creek Inn is a welcoming gem of a place. Oh, I almost forgot to mention. It is nestled next to the Georgetown Pioneer Cemetery, which I found to be a peaceful and comforting place to walk with our dog. We stopped at Wally's Pizza for dinner in Cameron Park based off their restaurant suggestions on their website and sent via text check in instructions. Great suggestion! The next mornings breakfast is texted the night before, offering some options like juice preference. And it's delivered around 9am the next morning. Since we had to be at rafting at 9 our first morning at the Inn, they delivered us fruit, scones, and juice early at 8:15am which was really nice. Breakfast was delicious, both mornings. And super fresh. We stayed in the Cypress room. Was as pictured online. Room was clean. The patio area is nice. We explored the grounds a bit our last morning and saw many places to sit around. We enjoyed some time up at the pond in the morning. The staff - I assume owners - were very friendly. We were very happy with our stay here and would return!

Lots of drink options which I love, they have coffee, orange juice, a huge variety of tea, milk, something for everybody. The day went on without one issue, I am very type A and their response time was amazing throughout the whole process and especially on day of! I can't recommend this place enough. We also went back and stayed the night on our one year anniversary and it was covered in snow, absolutely beautiful! We were sad that Faith, the manager, wasn't there as I feel like we really connected with her last year but Michele was there who was also very kind snd accommodating.

Nicely decorated and again, that bed was so so comfy. If you are under 5'8" you may need a step stool to get in the bed! It can be noisy with the freeway and train nearby but we weren't bothered by it. There is a huge fountain outside the window that helps. This would be a great place for a small wedding or family reunion... the whole place is inviting and cozy. I am sure the grounds are gorgeous in the spring! They do not offer breakfast so we brought some muffins and fruit and enjoyed our coffee in the parlor... you do have full use of the kitchen so If you want to cook, you can. The setting is idyllic and the B&B itself is a beautiful, sprawling house with 4 guest bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Two of the rooms have private, in room bathrooms. The other two room share a bathroom that can be accessed by either room. If one couple occupies one of the rooms then the other room is left empty so that the bathroom can be private. However, if 2 couples wanted to occupy the two rooms they could share the bathroom on request. The rooms are meticulously clean and well-appointed. Each room has it's own theme and all rooms have charming views. There is a great hot tub outdoors under the stars. It is always surprising how many stars you can see when you are not surrounded by light pollution! The proprietors, Alicia and Guy, are very friendly and welcoming and make your stay just that much more enjoyable. Alicia is a fabulous cook and the breakfast is so good you will be talking about it for weeks. Sierra Sun Cloud Inn is a great place to go on a honeymoon, anniversary, romantic retreat, or just for a fun night away!

The food is unsurpassed, the rooms are beautifully appointed, the beds are comfortable, the grounds are lovely and the location is convenient. THE FOOD: The first morning you will be served the most delectable french toast of your life, along with scrambled eggs, sausage and bacon. The second morning will likely be a spinach and egg quiche with graham cracker puff pancakes, apple cake and shoo-fly pie. Each breakfast begins with a parfait of fresh fruit, yogurt and granola. Accompanying each meal is also orange juice, grapefruit juice, coffee, tea, home-made oatmeal, and a long list of other thoughtful accouterments. Oh, and the best part...eating on the deck while you look out over the sweeping lawn and listen to the various water features and birds chirping. You sit there, immersed in the majestic pine forest that surrounds the house and think, IT DOESN'T GET ANY BETTER THAN THIS! As an aside, the inn-keeper also baked us fresh cookies and left them out for us when we returned from our rafting trip. THE ROOMS: The rooms and the home are plush and beautifully appointed. Most have private baths, but if you are in a room that doesn't have its own shower, don't worry. There are plenty of washrooms throughout the house and you never have the feeling of being hemmed in or crowded by any other guests. I have stayed in both The Toad Abode and The Nest and both were outfitted with robes, slippers, ample towels, water bottles, chocolates, a hair dryer, shampoo,etc. The room you choose to stay in will determine whether you spend more time on the deck or in the interior of the home. Both are spectacular and by no means exclusive. However, some rooms open onto decks and others open to the inside of the home. Whichever you choose, you can't go wrong. THE GROUNDS: With over a hundred acres (with trails), a pond, a natural spring and towering pines, the grounds beckon to be explored. If you're not a natural-born hiker, the grounds can be enjoyed from the multiple levels of decking that "bedeck" the house. In the evenings, there is nothing more inviting than donning a swimsuit, robe and slippers and heading out to the hot tub for a dip. Grab a bottle of water or soda from the fully-stocked guest fridge and a homemade cookie and you're set. THE LOCATION: The B&B is about 15 minutes outside of town, but that is in no way a downside because of the privacy it affords. Honestly, you will feel like you are on top of the world.
