I cannot say enough about the customer service at this neighborhood store! Stopped by today with a battery that needed to be replaced...like...yesterday! Tony came out got my car in right away and with John, got the battery replaced in minutes. We couldn't remember exactly when we purchased the battery...we knew it hadn't been more than 14 months, but Tony took us at our word and there was no charge. We purchase our tires and have our oil changed at this location. We will continue to do so and feel comfortable recommending them to other customers! read more

I bought my tires from them so I decided it was time for a time rotation since I do a lot of driving. I went in before noon and politely asked them if they had time for a walk-in tire rotation. The man at the desk told me they were backed up but they could accommodate a tire rotation. So I did the math and started the timer on when I should expect a phone call and I had my family pick me up. An average tire rotation will take about 1-2 hours because it's not overly complicated work. Tires are taken off, inspected, get rotated and balanced and put back on. To my utter dismay I wouldn't get notified that my car was done until 30 mins before they closed, roughly 6.5 hours later. One might suggest that since the rotation was free I shouldn't be so negative but i paid for that service as part of buying the tires from them. Time is money and I don't have a relative day to kill to let my car sit in the back of the queue because it's awaiting a promised service they agreed to provide when selling tires. This type of shoddy work ethic is hardly what I recommend in a mechanic and I am very disappointed. I will happily pay for a service if this is the alternative as a company is only as good as their guarantee and quality control. read more

I brought my car today for oil change and tire rotation. When I picked up my car they said both of my requests were done. I put a pentel markings on the rear wheels before I brought i my car in so that I will be sure later that they are rotated. But when I checked my tires in their parking lot, the rear wheels with the markings are still on the same spot. So I complained and showed it to them and the guy who did my car was giving alibis. They are dishonest and thought they can fool everyone. So I have to wait again for them to really rotate my tires. Now I am not sure if they put the right grade of oil for my oil change. Contacted through Yelp. They told be it'll only take 45 min for brake job and have me 1pm appointment. I went in and the guy at the counter tells me I have to drop it off and he cant do it in 45 min. I told him I cant drop it off since it is the only car I have. He tells me to come back next day 9am in the morning so that he can get me in and out. Place is a rip of, gives a bad name for mechanics everywhere... I was jumping on what I thought was a deal, having pads in front and back replaced for around 250$. After them overlooking it, I was told I needed pads for front and back as well as drums and rotors. Quoted me around 1000$. I called BS told them to put the tires on and that I will be taking my car for a second opinion. After taking my vehicle to my normal mechanic he told me that everything was in perfect working order! Where do I start. Had a very bad experience with their Fresno store. Needed to replace some parts on my truck. After speaking with Tony we came to an agreement and had it replaced at the clovis store. John was able to handle all the issues in a very professional and patient manner. I just moved to the area and they have been more than helpful,Great service and always friendly. But most recently I went in having an issue with the power steering in my car and John Told me that because it shold be covered by the warrenty to take it to the dealer.Ok he could of just taken my money and then told me this but instead sent me directly to the dealer.It was covered 100% by the warrenty and they were aware of the problem. If there was no stars I'd have picked that. Worse place if ever used . I've had nothing but bn problems with them since I bought the tires. Using the alignment package and rotations that I got with the tires has been a nightmare. Making an appointment is a joke, you'll still wait for hours. If you leave it, they'll keep it all day. Every alignment I've had them do, I've had to go back to have them straighten the steering wheel. And still wait for hours. I had them fix a flat just today, they kept the taken off tire for hours until I called and they said just finishing up you can come in 15 min. Well finishing up ment taking the screw out and spraying it with something that bubbles . Told me it didnt go through. I get it home and guess what, bubbling. I had to go back and show them, they got right on it ,but lucky I watched because I had to stop them from just punching on a plug like a hack job and tell them I wanted the tire taken off and patched from behind the right way. Then when it was done I asked the guy if it was balanced. Guess what??? Your right , no! He had to take it back and do that too. If you were gonna use them ..... DONT! read more

Huge shout out to American tire and especially Julian! Brought my car in because I got a staple in my tire of all things and Julian noticed that the tires on my car were wrong for the weight of my car. Julian called me to let me know that one tire was the original tire from when I bought my car (7 yrs ago), two back tires were wrong fit for my car and the left front tire was the original problem for taking it in. Basically what happened, he noticed that I bought the two back tires from American Tire he replaced those two for free. I had to buy the two front tires because my tread on the right driver side treads were worn and on the left side is where I got the staple. So, basically at American Tire in Clovis California, I got a buy two get two free. Thank you Julian for noticing the mistake. Thank you for correcting! Thank you for having my back! After a long night of work at a hospital, I came out to find my beloved Ebony(My black BMW) had a flat front tire. It was early morning and luckily Albert at American tire dept was able to get me in and out. He was able to check out all four tires and replace the ones that needed attention. I'm giving one star due to actually getting a refund for tires I never got and due to The service after the mistake , no communication on their part. I Was "accidentally " charged for tires on my credit card ,which I was told I would not and that it was just a hold. ( I was paying cash for tires was not charging them) Long story short , corporate had to approve it ? And it could take up to a month to get it back cuz they can't just credit the card back , I would get a check. Shouldn't a manager at the store have the authority to approve a mistake that was actually made by him? Called for appt on a Sunday , charge on credit card went thru on Monday!!!!! Synthetic oil change for $77.05. Synthetic is more expensive than conventional, but I could've have gone to the dealership and gotten the same work done...one star because they didn't put air in my tires like it's noted on the bill. I checked my tires after because they still looked low. I had to do it myself. How hard is it check the air pressure and fill them up? Apparently it's too much for the employees there. Worst experience I have EVER HAD. Took my 06 explorer in for a TPMS sensor replacement. Was helped by Edward. Should had seen the writing on the wall when he asked me about 4 times in a row if I needed a sensor, or just air. Arrived at 9am - told it would be 1 hour. I had taken the day off with plans to get this taken care of then use the explorer to tow my boat out o the lake for some fishing. At 12:30 .. TWELVE THIRTY!!!! - I'm told the job was done but they couldn't sync the sensor to the car. It requires a "special Ford too." I asked him why he didn't tell me this up front. I just get a bunch of bogus answers. I then tell him they sell the tool specific for 2006-2013 Ford's on Amazon for $40. "GO ahead and try. You'll fail like everyone else." I then asked him if their other location could do it, "No, you MUST take it to Ford." I didn't tell him I've been in the auto business for years - but the bs he was feeding me was pretty incredible. He went on to say that 'Future Ford shouldn't charge you to sync it.' Like an idiot I paid and left for Ford. Ford naturally said they could do it but they weren't going to finish someone elses job for free (who would blame them.) The standard TPMS service fee was $120 but they offered to do it for $60 since it was clear I Just got ripped off and I was having a rough day. I told them I'd think about it. Now I'm absolutely irate. Did they install the wrong sensor? Can I get my money back? Do I have the right to take legal action for being sold a service that they couldn't complete? Do I just give up and pay Ford $60 to be done with it? All these questions are running through my head. I decide to give Tire Depot's Fresno location a call, despite Ed's insistence that they couldn't do it. Ohhh the beautiful, wonderful Fresno location, to my rescue!! I explained the situation and how Clovis told me it required a special too and how frustrated i was - they said bring it down. So I drive across town and get there. They take a look, get to work, and before you know it, wala - TPMS sensor synced! WOOHOO!! I was OVERJOYED. They also didn't seem surprised - at all - that it was Ed that helped me. Seems he isn't looked too highly upon among his peers. So moral of the story. Ed at Clovis talks out both sides of his mouth. BEWARE. Normally I'd say hey, it's just an installer training issue - we're all human. But the fact that Ed made things up right to my face and was so arrogant about it - THAT'S what's going to stop me from coming back - until the day comes that he gets fired or quits. THANK YOU Fresno Tire Depot location for saving the day! I WILL give YOU future business. Shame Clovis was so bad - they're only 2 miles from my house. read more

Don't ever take your vehicles to American Tire Depot!!! I took my Yukon there this morning for a oil change. I had an appointment and it took 2 hours. I should have known then something was wrong. Then they tried to get $2,000 more dollars out of me!!! They told me the AC belt, upper and lower ball joints and the rack and pinions all needed to be replaced!!!.....they told me that if I didn't replace it now and waited when they went out it would cause more damage and more money!!!! I knew something wasn't right and took it to my mechanic at Ball Tire.....to my surprise..... The Yukon is perfectly fine!!! When I called to tell them my findings Edward told me to bring the car down because he needed to see it himself. Seriously he expected me to let him touch my car again!! However when I said "ok I'll be right there" Edward puts me on hold and then comes back on the line and changed his story to say "it was a mix up with another car". Wow!!! He said they were so busy that they must have mixed my car up with someone else's. Frustrated with his explanation and excuses I asked Edward for the name and number of his boss and at first he was rude and told me mistakes happen and that they were just very busy. Needless to say that was not what I needed to hear. Not my problem, as I had an appointment. I told Edward that in customer service you should never make excuses to customers. Edward went on to tell me that if I called his boss he would get fired. This leads me to believe that he has done this before. I told him I just wanted my money back for the oil change and to refund my card. He then told me that he would do that and also give me a few free oil changes. I explained to him I didn't want anything extra and declined his "free oil changes". I explained just my refund was all I wanted. He proceeded to tell me all he could do was give me cash and that I needed to come down to the store. Really?? What kind of a business doesn't refund to your credit card? After reading multiple reviews on here and seeing prior complaints on Edward I had to write this review so others would not have this happen to them. These guys are a rip off!!! I must say I'm not one to give terrible reviews unless it's truly deserved but I will never do business with American Tire Depot again. Long story short, I ordered 4 tires online and also made an online appointment to have the tires installed at the Fresno location. I go to my appointment, to be told, sorry we don't have the tires yet we'll call you. After 4 days of not being called I call the Clovis store and order the same 4 tires and make an appointment to have them installed 2 days later. The tires arrived on-time (still no call from Fresno). When I go into the Clovis store I'm given a much higher price quote than their online price. I present my price quote from my original order i made online. The guy behind the counter says okay i'll honor that tire price and then gives me my estimate. The estimate shows the tires at a price of 69.95 which is $11 more per tire than the online price. I question him about the price and he tells me that he can't find the online price in his computer. So, I look it up on my phone and show it to him. (Mind you they pride themselves on price matching any competitor's pricing). He says he can't find that price in his computer so he adds a couple discounts (which only knocks $20 off instead of the $44 he should have been taking off). Absolutely tired of dealing with the guy and desperate for tires I agree to the price and leave an unhappy customer. I have no idea why I couldn't get American Tire Depot to honor their own online pricing!!!! And still no call back from the Fresno store and that was 26 days ago and counting. There is obviously a corporate problem because both stores failed to meet even basic customer expectations. If possible I'll post my online quote and my receipt as proof of my bait and switch experience. read more

Got new tires, control arms, and struts worked on here for my car. When I picked my car up there was a fresh, deep scratch on my bumper. Not just one but 2 scratches that are vertical with a horizontal scuff. Believe what you want but I know that was not there when I left my car in their care. My car was immaculate, now I just paid over 1,000 for work and have a ruined bumper that will cost the same to fix and replace. They have no cameras so of course they "can't admit fault". The scratches are definitely from a tool and not from a vehicle hitting me. I know someone at that shop did this to my car and of course won't own up to it. Certainly never coming back for anything. A rep tried to contact me regarding this review since the incident and he failed to assess my car and the damage. I called him several times over 2-3 weeks and he claimed to be sick the entire time, every call. This company has been so unprofessional it's astounding. Customer service is good when manager is not texting in front of you. Instead of helping customers first. He was friendly after he is not on his phone. Came in for oil change was told it would take 45 mins ok. A hour later They recommend new air I said ok go ahead. My cars setting outside I ask what are we waiting for now hour half later. Manager says" had to order air filter on its way" two hours later I am still setting here waiting, still no air filter. I would recommend going some where else for a few dollars more. read more

For the store at Clovis CA Went in and had a quote for $730. They called back - didn't have the tires we wanted - so had to upgrade them. Wanted to charge to clean the power steering fluid for $80 Another part to replace $195 extra. Didn't pay for the power steering fluid. So instead of $730 cost about $1100. You would think that after paying $1100 for tires that they could at least take the time to wipe the oil smudge marks off the door handle. VERY Disappointed! read more
