Him and his crew work super hard and are incredibly kind people. I love that he's local and goes out of his way to accomodate my schedule. I feel lucky every time I think how I just took a chance from an IG ad. In the two years since I got my car, I've done a 1 year and 3 year ceramic coating, the Glassparency and have had multiple maintenance car washes. I've bought washes for family and friends and everyone is wowed by the results. Look, premium services like ceramic coatings are not cheap, but I wanted to protect my car and keep it looking nice for years to come. Rene's pricing is fair and the results speak for themselves. Especially with the last couple of rainy seasons, the Glassparency was such a great investment and helps mitigate the use of windshield wipers (which personally are a pet peeve). I even spilled a huge thing agua fresca in my trunk and it left a lot of residue after I tried to get it out - Rene to the rescue! I don't know what he did, but he got it out and the trunk lift piece is back to new. Woo! I have ZERO qualms about recommending Rene and Double R. Oh and to the person who said they stole their headphones from their car - that is complete BS. I've seen him find $5-20 bills in my (and my family/friends' cars) and leave them on the dash.

This was not how I planned to start my evening but nothing I can do when a tree attacks your car. I called around and sent messages on Yelp trying to get it fixed that same night, but no luck. However, I decided to hire JJ Windshield Repair and Replace because they provided a decent quote AND offered an OEM windshield. The other businesses didn't mention if it was OEM and I figured I would have to pay more money to get the window tinted after it's fixed. With JJ Windshields, I didn't have to worry about that. Eddie showed up at my house (9 minutes after the 2 hour appointment time which was the only downside) the very next morning. He took one look at all the broken glass and said, "What a mess!" I smiled and said, "Don't judge me," and we both started laughing. From there, he got straight to work. He cleaned up all the glass, replaced the windshield, and had everything done in about 45 minutes. Eddie was professional and efficient. Over the years, I've seen different employees and managers come and go, and I have never had an experience as unpleasant as the one I had today with the woman currently working there. For years, my routine has always been the same: I vacuum my car first and then go through the car wash. I do it this way because once my car is washed, I simply leave. I don't park afterward to dry it -- I let it air-dry while I drive. I work long hours, I'm usually in a hurry, and this is simply the way I choose to take care of my car. I have done this at this location for YEARS without anyone ever having a problem with it. Today, this woman approached me yelling and speaking to me in an extremely rude and aggressive manner, telling me that their policy is to wash the car first and vacuum afterward. I calmly explained that I've been coming here since 2018 and that nobody had ever told me this was a problem before. If that is their policy -- or if the policy has changed -- that is perfectly fine. The policy was never the problem. The way I was treated was the problem. There is a professional and respectful way to communicate with customers. You can simply say, "Just so you know, our policy is to wash first and vacuum afterward." That would have been the end of the conversation. Instead, I was yelled at and spoken to in a way that was completely unnecessary and disrespectful. Her communication and customer-service skills were extremely poor. I felt like I was being scolded rather than spoken to as a longtime paying customer. And unfortunately, this is already the second unpleasant interaction I've had with this same woman, so this was enough for me. Customer service in California is generally excellent, which makes an interaction like this stand out even more. There is simply no reason to speak to customers with hostility when a basic policy can be communicated politely in a few seconds. And honestly, after an experience like this, their 3.9-star rating doesn't surprise me. Customer service matters, and the way customers are treated will eventually show in a business's reputation. For anyone looking for an alternative, I highly recommend Quick Quack Car Wash near Hawthorne Blvd & Artesia Blvd. I've gone back and forth between these two car washes for a while because this El Segundo location is conveniently on my way home from work. But Quick Quack is now under new management, the location has been refreshed, everything looks great, the wash itself is better, and the customer service doesn't even compare. The price is essentially the same, so after today, the choice is very easy for me. After being a customer here since 2018, I will no longer be returning to El Segundo 5 Minute Express Carwash while this is the type of treatment customers can expect. I'll gladly take my business to Quick Quack instead. A policy can be explained politely in 20 seconds. There is absolutely no excuse for yelling at a customer or speaking to someone with that level of disrespect. Same money. Better wash. Dramatically better customer service. Easy choice.

The car wash also officers a lot of parking stalls with high powered vacuums to clean the interior! I think it'd be nice to have a large mirror near the ceiling angled downward so the driver pulling into the wash bay can align their tires to the tracks to avoid damaging their rims/make it easier to pull in. The car wash on Inglewood Ave/Imperial Hwy has this and it definitely makes it easier!

I ultimately chose not to use their service because I needed a company that provides accurate on-site measurements and transparent pricing from the start. Clear communication and consistency would make this experience more helpful for future customers.

This place is truly legit! First of all theres way too many shops that do this work but there is a reason that the local dealerships made a contract with this one in particular. Truth is, if local dealerships trust the work that is done here then i do too. I just got my sound system installed and windows tinted at a very reasonable price, needless to say it sounds perfect and the windows arent bubbling (previously with other places ive experienced battery problems because sounds arent properly installed and tints bubbled up), not here. I also am getting my rims and roof painted black at an unbelievable price. Lets just say I saved over $600 and i will be sending as many people as i can to this place because i finally found an awesome shop that does mostly everything, doesnt over price, and the work is very legit. Actually, here's two in one excellent service -- Sal's Premium Auto Collision on Crenshaw in LA referred me to American Upholstery when I placed a box on my leather seat and it ripped it. Talk about an expensive box of juice! Anyway, I talked to Manny, got an estimate and wanted to get a feel for the place. Well, they are honest, the work was excellent and they are very friendly, professional and accommodating. You can't ask for more than that - right? Well, the cost was reasonable as well. Manny provided awesome customer service. Manny was able to track down a new steering wheel for my Toyota truck and replace it for a reasonable price. I considered a few places to have my headliner redone; however, one of the managers from Pacific Audi/VW recommended Manny. Once I met with Manny, and visited his workspace, I felt very comfortable entrusting him and his crew with installing a new headliner. Manny and his team at American Upholstery just did a fantastic job replacing my sad sagging headliner in my 2007 Jetta! Woohoo! The new one looks great! These guys are pros! Other shops wanted to take out the windshields to get to the headliner, with no guarantees they wouldn't break the glass (what??), and keep the car for 2 to 3 days. AU got it done in less than a day at a great price without all that mess. They provide awesome customer service, even picked me up and dropped me off at the car rental. American Auto Upholstery is a great shop! I took may car in for a new radio, and not only did I get a great deal on a new radio but they also installed it very quick...the best thing is that I didn't have to go to those big chain stores. We also take our cars here for an auto detail. They do a fine job making sure your paint job comes out nice and smooth... to the point to where you can see your own reflection. Just a quick follow up on my previous post here. Took my wife's 2007 CRV back to American Upholstery for a complete interior/exterior detail. I returned to Manny to have my Nissan Sentra rear view mirror installed. He was totally welcoming (even tho I didn't have an appointment). before they fixed it, I noticed they had the hood up. best place to take your car or boat or even motorcycle needs. the guys work at a fast pace and charge a fraction of the price. Been to other upholstery shops and all they want to do is ripe you off. Manny was great with communication and service! They did a great job repairing my car which had a tear on the leather passenger seat. It's hard to find trustworthy, nice, and amazing service these days but they blew my expectations. Would highly recommend them to anyone needing work done on their car. read more

I took my car to get the bottom part of my seat fixed, upholstery (as shown in the photos, $285), and he also inspected and quoted me on other potential issues I brought up about my car, free of charge. I definitely plan on returning. He's was a such a nice person to talk to and work with, so it's feels good being able to trust him with my car! Dropped it off at 10:15 am, and he was done by 1 pm. If I knew it was going to be this easy I would've fixed this a long time ago! Also I just noticed, if you look at the pictures, he cleaned up my rug! That really says a lot about the quality of the service and himself, as he treats your car like it's his.
