[[HIGHLIGHT]]A traditional diner that could be anywhere, I think "New York" in the name was just to attract visitors from outside the US.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. There didn't seem to be anything particularly New York, and the varied menu -- with breakfast served anytime -- was representative of diners i've visited in Chicago and other large metro areas. That was down even to the display of cakes right inside the door. Service was attentive, and pricing was fair.

This diner is super easy to locate, right at the intersection of Gulf to Bay Blvd and Keene Rd. I've been here a couple times for breakfast. I like to sit at the counter. Everyone is usually very friendly and keeps the coffee a-comin'. I've only done breakfast here. The food is tasty and filling. The portions are pretty big. I always leave with leftovers.

It's a NY Greek Diner in Florida!!
    Peter S.

Holy cow! It's a bona-fide NYC Greek Diner in Clearwater FL! So fun. It's everything you expect if you've ever been to a NY Greek Diner: immense menu, great service, enormous portions, best bank for buck, and oh, NY Cheescake. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance is exactly like if you were in Long Island, NY, or NJ![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We ordered the dbl pork chop dinner, seafood dinner, and a Cobb Burger. First off, when the "side" Greek salads came, we gasped. They were more than half the size of a dinner salad. Well worth the $2 Greek Salad upcharge! My wife asked for a box right away, as the dbl pork chop dinner was easily 2x her normal dinner portion. The taste was as you expect from a place like this: a greasy spoon in all the right ways. My fish and shrimp were hand breaded. The piece of cod was enormous. It was the length of the plate, and the shrimp were actually hand breaded coconut shrimp! It was a nice surprise. The crab cake was bought as the waitress admitted. But it was still tasty. My son was digging his giant cobb burger. He cohldn't finish his fries, and that's saying something for a ravenous teenager. We couldn't walk out without ordering dessert to go: Tiramisu, Chocolate Cake, and Strawberry Cheesecake. I reminded my wife that people go to the Cheesecake Factory to get cheesecake not nearly as good as what's found here! Next time we're in Clearwater, we'll definitely be back!

Quick service, classic deli menu and 24 hour breakfast items. Grabbed a Chicken Parmesan sandwich combo, which was tasty I just wished it came with classic roll instead of sliced bread. Sauce was very good.

Got the BBQ burger and it was great ! The beef tasted really good ! Looks like I got a good late night food place...The one thing I didn't catch was the BBQ burger is the only burger that strangley doesn't come with cheese...And, also it says it comes with pickle..Well it's one spear....Next time I'llask for two....That being said I didn't even miss the cheese..The bad part was the server was very poor....She never came back to my table until I was done with my meal...And there was only like 3 other tables going on and another waitress...[[HIGHLIGHT]]Inside the restaurant has a nice comfortable diner feel...[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]Can substitute the regular fries for curly fries/sweet potato fries/onion rings for an upcharge.

I can't really base a whole lot on one breakfast, but I can say they it was on par quality for any kinda breakfast and lunch joint you'd find in the area. Heaven knows the Clearwater and Largo area are FLOODED with those. This place, however, claims to be open 24/7. I'm sorry I didn't capture a photo of the menu; breakfast takes up the whole side of one page and nearly a third of the flip side. Much unlike NY diners (I'm a born and raised NYC type) I've ever tried, this menu is only two pages long. It seems to cover the basics...but that's it. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We got there at about 8:30am on a Friday morning and the place was nearly empty. The dining room was actually a good bit smaller than I thought it'd be for a 24/7 joint (12-15 tables at most).[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They've been putting down a new floor, so the tables (all booths) are kinda jumbled about for now. Our server was Isabel, a cute little lady from Venezuela as it turned out. The family sitting next to us was trying to practice their Spanish, so they tried ordering en español. Isabel was quite patient and hospitable about it all, and she proved to be a decent server. There was one other server in the place at the time. Both the Queen Bee and I chose the Garden Omelette, which is basically a veggie omelet (duh). We both had rye toast and I chose home fries. Queen Bee opted for a bowl of mixed fruit instead ($1.50 upcharge). Each omelet was only two eggs rather than three, although a 3-egger is an available option. Omelets were tasty and filled with a decent amount of fresh vegetables (tomato, onion, bell pepper and shrooms). Both omelets were a bit overcooked but not horribly so. Certainly nowhere I'd hurry back to for an omelet, TBH...or for breakfast in general, really. Fruit bowl was freshly cut variety of good fruit; not all dried up nor from a Sysco can...much like Coke, 'twas the "real thing." Home fries were typical NY diner style home fries, but in a good way. Nice heaping portion of well seasoned, crisp tater slices more reminiscent of NY than what often one gets down here: fried tater cubes...Blech! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Decor of the joint is kinda cute, with a nice selection of R&B music playing overhead, albeit a bit loud for my liking.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] As one walks in (or out), there's a small refrigerated glass case next to the front door. In it is supposed to be a selection of desserts, but it was empty when we walked in. When we left, there was a huge layer cake in there as well as some cheesecake. One of the other employees in there began filling it up as we had our breakfast. The cake itself looked well decorated and pleasing to the eye. As the day goes on, I'm sure more sweet stuff finds its way in there. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Finally, aside from being a bit small, the diner seemed a bit tattered around the edges. When we were sat down, one rolled silverware bundle was wrapped in a stained napkin...quality control certainly lacking here, as the blob of an inch across was very noticeable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Four stars is a bit generous, TBH...three is a bit stingy though. Parking lot is small with right spaces, so be careful...

Our first time at papa's was a home run! Service was superb! Mike our server had great suggestions and his friendly attitude made us feel like regulars. The food has amazing diner nostalgia with a Greek twist. We started with a classic biscuits with gravy. So delicious. I had a classic Gyro with fries, Fantastic fresh tzatziki. The coffee was hot and balanced. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Awesome family and friends ambiance. Feels homey and welcoming.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Came back for breakfast an wow the French toast a must have.

Made a recent trip for an early dinner at Papa's New York Diner. Our server was good, very friendly and smiling. [[HIGHLIGHT]]As always, the restaurant was kept very clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My companion ordered Pastitsio with a Greek salad. I ordered Eggplant Parmigiana with a bowl of Chicken Tortilla soup. Our server had to check to be sure that they had eggplant left . She came back and told me they did. I was glad because I've had the eggplant before and it was very good.. We will start with the Greek salad and it was very good. No complaints. As for the Pastitsio, it didn't have a bechamal sauce on top. It was a red sauce and although the meal itself was OK, it just wasn't correct.. My chicken tortilla soup had great flavor, but was really lacking in chicken . I found three strands of shredded chicken in the entire bowl. The tortilla strips on top were nice and crispy so I enjoyed that.. The eggplant parmigiana was not as well received by me. The same dish that I had a few weeks ago had five nice slices of eggplant on top of spaghetti with a very nice red sauce. You might see in the picture that this one had three slices of eggplant on top of the spaghetti, but the sauce was very thin, almost watered down. Maybe some pasta water got into the dish, but it was very, very thin at the bottom. It didn't have the same good flavor as it did the last time. I like coming here and maybe this is just an off day, but I certainly will return again. But a repeat performance of this will make me look around for another spot for a quick early dinner.

Great customer service. Crystal was stellar on being attentive, genuine, and had a true heart of gold. She was patient with walking me through their extensive menu as a newcomer. I decided on the prime rib melt with mozzarella and sweet potato fries. Good lord was it delicious. This was my first time in and I had no idea how amazing their food is and the 24 hour full service experience that is right down the street from my house. We will be back. Keep it up Crystal!!

    My food: a Rueben

The food was good! [[HIGHLIGHT]]I liked the vibe very retro.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I felt a bit rushed by our server but he was nice nonetheless! Good service all around.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Great NY diner food and atmosphere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Prices are amazingly cheap and the quality is way above average. The staff is friendly, very attentive, and communicates very well. We only had breakfast, which was about $10-12 each, but can't wait to return to try other items. Hidden Oasis, that should be tried.

It's a diner so if you're from a state that has diners you'd understand. They're fast, crowded, greasy and "well used". The staff is hardworking and fast and always moving. It's a big menu one wonders how you can offer so many diversified items? The food was good with the burger medium rare as ordered and hot crispy onion rings. The shaved prime rib with au jus was good fries crispy but warm. Give it a try

The menu is huge so our server had to come back several times while we decided. LOL! We finally decide on the French toast breakfast with roasted potatoes and a few over medium eggs. The French toast was delightful and came with a cinnamon sugar butter ( no syrup necessary) my eggs were over cooked which is why this is a four start review and not five. The potatoes were roasted to perfection and salted, so good! The chorizo breakfast crepes were also delicious! The crepes were light, and flavorful the eggs, chorizo, cheese and side of sauces were perfect and was just filling enough not to be heavy. My dates lobster Brie Bennie was delicious as well, their only complaint was the water crest they added as a garnish atop the sandwich which she easily picked off. The ambiance was a bit busy for my taste even if it was a Saturday morning but other than that, five stars. Because it's right near the beach, get there early unless you don't mind waiting.
