Eye exam was great, purchasing my glasses was ok. Picking up my glasses was a joke. This is my 3rd time at Americas Best and each time ive picked up my glasses ive had service that helped me adjust them to a comfort and vision level. Yesterday when I picked up my 2 pair they were laid on the table and I was told to try them on. I expressed that my right eye had a vision issue as if it was a smudge on the lense. When I brought it up, I was told thats how progressives are, mind you I have been wearing progressives for around 3yrs. They dont fit comfortably on my ears either but she just brushed me off and told me to give it 5 to 7 days. Your vision should improve, not get worse when you pick up a new pair amd be expected to wear glasses that are blurry. $450 later to need my previous glasses to see clearly. read more

Do not go here!!! The front desk, pre exam, and all of the other staff were very helpful and kind! HOWEVER the doctor was AWFUL. He came in all hectic, and rushed through everything, and if you're unsure about something, forget about it! Every time I was unsure about what I was seeing/ confused, he would sigh and make a comment. I felt very uncomfortable, and felt like I had to give him an answer within 10 seconds even if it wasn't accurate. If that is the type of experience you want then this is the place for you. This doctor will make you feel like a number to his quota. As soon as you step in there you can feel that they want you out of there as fast as they can! On top of it all everyone looks stressed and overworked! You can tell the business only cares about how much money they make! So if you don't care about your eye sight then again this is the place for you!!! Now more than ever, kids need to be properly prepared for school, whether learning in person or online. My daughter was due for new glasses, so we made sure to make an appointment for her eye exam early, as hours were limited. The staff had proper protection measures in place, beginning with temperature checks upon entry, spacing between seats and a plexiglass barrier at reception. Normally, you would come in, try on several pairs of glasses until you found a couple you liked. This was still the case, however, once you decided against a pair, you were asked to discard them in a bin for cleaning. Counters, equipment and chairs were being wiped down between customers. I was most impressed by the optometrist who conducted the exam. He went above and beyond, even dilating her eyes to ensure accuracy of her prescription, and diagnosed a rare disorder. We realized that she had been wearing the wrong prescription for years, and were beyond grateful for his expertise and suggestions for correcting the issue. You can't get a better deal on glasses and an eye exam anywhere. She was able to pick out a couple of pair she liked, and I was able to use my Flexible Spending Account to save further. Fast-forward to around 10 days later, we received a call that the glasses were in, scheduled a pick up time to make sure they fit properly, and were on our way in less than fifteen minutes. Terrible management. I got here 10 min before my appointment to get checked in. The lady at the front desk was great but after waiting an hour without anyone even looking in my direction and people who showed up after me getting their eye exams I asked the front desk what was going on and they said they lost my chart. I finally was able to get a pre test after waiting for over an hour. If I hadn't said anything who knows how long I would be sitting there. They were nice about it but it's frustrating when I have other things to do. Plus I'm 6 months pregnant and waiting in an uncomfortable sitting area for 40+ minutes longer then anyone else is not how I'd like to spend my day. The eye doctor didn't even get to me until over an hour and a half and past my appointment time. Don't come here unless you have a lot of extra time and patience... I guess that's probably why they're so cheap. Update: they said my glasses would be ready in 2 weeks and they'd give me a call when I can come get them. It's been three weeks and still no call. Called them today and they said they were ready. I asked why they hadn't called me and they said it was an automated system from a 800 number and I must have declined it? I have not received any calls from 800 numbers in a couple of weeks and had not gotten any voicemails or anything. Super disappointing experience. Huge waste of time. read more

I got hit by a basketball and my glasses are messed up, my mom took me to the America's Best Contacts and Eyeglasses because that's where I got my glasses. Their service is very good, but it's takes a long time if something is wrong with your glasses. If your nose pads fall off or something, they can easily fix it. read more

This was an awful experience, the receptionist was making fun of a hearing impaired man, they refused to release my old prescription and insisted I get retested. It took over an hour to get my prescription and I will never go back. This place is unethical and illegal in refusing to release a prescription according to the FTC. Glasses that you have try on were filthy visible finger prints all over them as well as cracked lenses 1/4 of the small section we were looking in for glasses for my son, he did not want to even handle them let alone put them on his face, I tried my best to clean them with the hem of my shirt so he could make a choice. I've had to come back to this location four times now for one single pair of eyeglasses ( 70 mile round trip). I was lured in by the great deal of "free eye exam" & on Day one when I came in, there was quite literally three people at the front counter All with separate complaints either with their prescription, their service, or their hardware. There was a nice elderly man interviewing for a job on the side & patient charts everywhere.... because evidently this huge establishment does not understand how to invest in computers ... WTF ... for patients charts .... as a health care worker, I won't go there now . At that point I had already paid for my exam & figured it was routine, no changes in years ... so just get it done... right? The first wait was only 25 minutes past the appointment time, 55 minutes late the second time, & great improvement with 15 minutes late the 3 rd appointment. So why did I have so many appointments??? it's because the doctor put the wrong prescription for my contacts and glasses, so I had to go back with my glasses in hand for another appointment. I went ahead and got my contacts from Costco but this year I decided to try to use them for my glasses and see how it went, huge huge mistake. Sadly, The disorganization & incompetence is systemic, it's not just the front desk! The first prescription I came in to pick up was completely wrong , ( I had an appointment AND a follow up with my glasses in hand to make sure he got it right) somehow Dr. added pluses were there should've been minuses ( thank God this guy is not doing surgery or writing medication prescriptions) and I had magnifying glasses that weren't my prescription at all. They come up with every excuse in the book with how the fault could not be there's & joyfully ( A bit sarcastic while their coworkers stare you down) tell you that you're welcome to come back in and pick up another pair. Another two weeks later I called back. They can't find any orders of mine at exception of the one that got returned. At that point I wasn't too happy so I asked the "manager" to talk with me. Today I called for my new lenses hoping they were there, and they were. I wish I would've had a call from them but no. I called to check and yep they were there. Who knows how long they had the lenses. And it turned out they were exactly how my old ones were. And I couldn't do a thing about it because the person that helped me 2 weeks ago said she explained everything to me, which was not true. She lied right in front of me, made me feel like I didn't pay attention and I thought to myself, why would I pay over $350 to get exactly the same lenses I walked in with? After a month, I called to see if they were there yet and they were. I was pretty livid. Second time around only this time with contacts. They said it takes 2-3 weeks? Ok whatever. Wow, what to say. First made an appointment, in person over 2 months ago. That appointment was for about three weeks in advance, sometime around 5PM. THen they called us the morning of the exam and said it had been cancelled. Actually, first, before we even got home from making that first appointment, they cancelled my wife's appointment. So we got on line and rescheduled her original appointment time again. Ok, so after another reschedule we showed up and were rudely told to wait in the back hallway until someone called us. The exam itself went pretty well. After that we browsed glasses and picked up a pair for my wife and one for myself. A couple weeks after that they called and told us our glasses were ready. When we showed up we were again, rather curtly, directed to some guy sitting in a chair down the way from the cashier. We gave him our name and he was kind enough to let us try on our glasses. I asked if they came with any cases. He replied usually they do but due to 'supply chain' issues he had none to give out. Even though I saw plenty on the walls all around him. I did manage to cajole him into giving a glass cleaning cloth for each pair we purchased. We also asked about getting an insurance plan for the glasses. He told us that we would have to talk with an optician for that. OK, so, as far as we eventually found, there was only one optician working. She spent about 30 minutes with the lady she was working with when we started waiting. Then there was someone else ahead of us who she spent another 15 minutes with. During that time she asked us to move from the chairs we were sitting and waiting patiently on. After the second lady was done she went to some clipboard and called out some name before ours. My wife complained that we had been waiting for almost an hour. Then the optician told my wife that she was sorry that she, my wife, was so upset. Deserve a ZERO I had an appointment at your Keizer store and I came in with a mask on. As I was talking to a girl at the front regarding my insurance and such. The girl sitting next to her threw one of those cheap cloth masks on the counter and said you need to wear this one. My step daughter went here for an exam, contacts, and a pair of glasses. We have excellent insurance that pays up to $600 for glasses and pays for your exam. She ended up paying full price for a pair of $60 glasses. Never did receive her contacts. They gave her a pair of contacts to try out which were horrible. The main doctor we saw today was patient with my son and he took the time to explain everything. Once the exam was finished, we were waiting in the main lobby to check out. I first went to America's best back in September to get my daughter some affordable eyeglasses. The exam itself and the Dr is great. However, like the reviewer Erika, picking up the glasses, as well as ordering them, was a nightmare. We waited for about 30 minutes before any employee even acknowledged us and helped us with purchase. During the purchasing process, two of the employees were gossiping rudely about a third employee. It was very unprofessional. A few months later, I found out my daughter needed a stronger pair of glasses, so, I gave America's Best another try. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and assumed that the terrible customer service wouldn't happen again. Wrong. As I ordered glasses, again, the employees gossiped not only about fellow employees, but also the eye doctor. The eye doctor happens to be a very nice guy and the only good experience I've had with this establishment. Again, it took an unnecessary amount of time to order, because I waited while employees didn't acknowledge that I was there or even ask if I've been helped. We were told the glasses would be there in 7-10 days. By the tenth day, I'd received no phone call about their arrival, so I went to the store to ask. Sitting behind the counter were three large boxes of glasses that hadn't been sorted yet, as well as a large drawer of unsorted glasses. The employee answering phones was heard to say, "the glasses haven't been sorted for a few days, so call back after 3 and we'll let you know if they're here." Soon, as she answered calls, she wasn't even checking to see if customers glasses had arrived. She would just tell them, "No, they haven't arrived yet." Luckily, I had a nice employee finally ask what I needed. She proceeded to go through all of the boxes, a feat that took about 20 minutes, till she finally found one of the two pair of glasses we were waiting for. As she was going through boxes, the gal answering the phone said to the gal who was helping me, "Why are you going through all the boxes? Just tell the customer that their glasses aren't here yet." I was sitting right there and saw it all transpire. Anyway, to make a long story short, I will not be going back. The customer service is TERRIBLE. They are in need of a new office manager or someone that can bring a professional atmosphere to an establishment where professionalism is sorely lacking. read more

I'm sorry, but keeping someone on hold for over 30 minutes in one sitting is wrong, then telling them you will just switch computers and help them, but 30 minutes later they are still holding is RIDICULOUS! Final Update: I FINALLY received my glasses, that i originally ordered in December and 5 orders later. I went in Saturday with the hope they were really ready and I could Finally be done with this nightmare. But when i finally got my glasses, they were WRONG! I ordered bifocal and NO bifocal! So when the lady asked me how are they, I just threw in the towel and said OK. I DIDN'T WANT TO WAIT ANOTHER 2 WEEKS, so i just took the glasses and left! It is apparently a prime example of you get what you pay for. I've been to this Eye-wear/Vision Care shop twice now. First time a couple of years ago the glasses weren't bad but not the vision that I really needed for driving. The worst part was the 'cattle chute' effect. You are ushered through their process step by their step. I was exhausted at the end. This time was decidedly worse. With an appointment I still had to wait and wait at each step, there were so many people there I think I got lost in the crowd. I ordered my glasses and was told they would call me when they came in, about four weeks. They never called. Finally I called two weeks after expecting them. They still weren't done but would be in a couple of days. When I arrived to pick them up, it was chaos in the waiting area AND staff area. Much worse than before. I picked up the glasses, the one for close up was better but the driving pair was the same as I had had previously. Two months later the close up ones literally fell apart over a period of two weeks. I'd been using their eye case and one day I picked the glasses out of it only to find the plastic piece that sits on the nose laying in the bottom of the case. A week later, still using the glasses with the missing piece, I retrieved them from case and started to put them on when one of the lens fell out. That was it. It fell apart like a dollar store pair. I would give 0 star if i could!! Worst place ever. They rescheduled us from 6/21(no school week for me) to 6/28 ( I have class) because of no doctor on 21( understandable) my mom and my family appointment was first at 10.45 they came in the morning but when i got there 12.22 they still there?? , and for my appointment at 12.00pm it was canceled because I was late than 10 minutes!! Felt like a bait and switch operation to me. First quote on the $59.95 special ended up to be over $500. I finally gave up on some of the features I desired and got it down to $140, which I paid. But, three weeks later and still no glasses. The woman with an Hispanic accent who answered my call gave me the impression that I was wasting her time. "We will call you when they come in. Unless there is anything else I can do for you thank you for calling." I emailed their corporate contact and received an acknowledgement but no response to my inquiry. I recently purchased my third pair of glasses from This store, and also joined their contact club as well. My glasses are great, no complaints in regards to fit, adjustment or wait time. They actually arrived earlier than expected, and historically do. My contacts have been an all together different experience. After more than three weeks passed, I called to find out the status and was told, "oh, yeah, they've been here since last Monday, you can pick them up." No apology, no how can we help with your pick-up, nothing. I then called back to ask how long it would take to get additional contacts, as I received only a trial pair, and was concerned about the length of time it took to get them. After being placed on hold for over 20 minutes, a representative answered just as I was about to hang up. This rep was not concerned that I was not notified that my contacts were in, and she offered no support and gave the impression that I was wasting her time. I always want to give companies a second chance. I believe people make mistakes, and I believe it's important to have feedback in order to grow in whatever work you are doing. However, customer service is important to me. My experience left me feeling that my business has no value to this company, and that is unacceptable to me. The old adage says that it cost 5 times more to acquire a new customer than to retain an existing one. Some feedback for your company and staff: A loyal customer is more likely to refer you to family and friends. The majority of businesses report that the majority of their monthly business comes from recurring customers. I have been to this office 5 times since I got my glasses. My lenses pop right out even from just taking them out of the case. Every time I go in they say it's just the prescription. This is ridiculous. I shouldn't have to deal with them popping out at all, when I go in to get them fixed they are terribly rude. The glasses are cheap, but you get what you pay for.
