She was very prompt on getting back to my many questions and was extremely thorough on the quote I requested - which included like 15 items! Danyal was my tech, and he worked incredibly hard. He was extremely nice and finished installing my pool pump in about 90 minutes - a job I'm sure that would have cost me a Saturday and about 80 dollars in the household swear jar. Highly recommend. Never felt like people were trying to take advantage of me, and called multiple companies AFTER I got my quote from them, and they were the best deal. read more

I contacted ASP twice on April 6th. 1st The central answering service was less than friendly. (Personally I don't care to speak to Answering Services) To me answering services don't care for giving "customer service." And frankly I was uncomfortable in that my message would not be passed on. At that point I called Cathy that I've spoken to numerous times over the years and she has always been very friendly, polite and helpful. (I believe the numbers I have for her are her cell or home number) I felt confident my message would be passed on for my remolding project. To this day May 19th I have not received a call to schedule an appointment. It's great companies are busy and their business is good for them but a courtesy call would have been nice. I have used ASP numerous times over the last 10 years for our pool repairs. I'm gathering customer loyalty is not important in these times. As onsite manager for my HOA, I contacted ASP to come out and assess our pool for repairs. We scheduled an appointment for this morning at 10:00. The tech called this morning to cancel/reschedule. I asked if he would be available at 3:00 today. He advised me that he could make it. Around 3:30 I text to ask him for an ETA. He texts back to say that he is in a meeting and will follow up...except he doesn't. I text later for an ETA and get no response. I then call the office to follow up on what the issue might be. I tell the lady who answers that he is supposed to be in a meeting with other techs. She seems completely surprised by this and apologizes for his lack of communication. She assures me she will have someone out today. She then calls me back to tell me that she can't get anyone out today. It's very concerning that we can't even get anyone out to assess our pool. I contacted these guys through yelp. They responded quickly with follow up questions. Which I answered quickly as well. Then nothing, until 21 days later, when a tech shows up at my door at 730am to figure out my leak issue. I had not heard from them in 21 days and then they just show up at my house. This is not the way to do business. UPDATE - These guys contacted me and apologized and made things right. They have also changed the way they schedule appointments so that this won't happen to others. I appreciate all they did and trust their work. read more

My wife & I have been ASP customers since 1999. They service our pool weekly and did a less extensive pool remodel for us 10 years ago. This project was a lot bigger. We replaced the tile, coping, and pool surface and had our stamped concrete pool deck cleaned, stained and sealed. The planning process was very professional. They came to us...early on a Sunday morning in one case...to measure everything out and we went to their showroom to pick everything out. They had a very diverse selection of products, to say the least. My wife & I went back and forth about what we wanted, and ended up settling on top end products all around, with upgrades! It was worth every penny. I highly recommend the wireless control unit, iAquaLink. Extra cost, but worth it. ASP even recommended a really cool upgrade during the project...inlaying glass tiles in the steps. We absolutely love it and are thankful we went for the top end materials. As is the case with any job on this scale, there were a couple of bumps in the road, but ASP did not make excuses, they apologized profusely, and then QUICKLY and professionally made it right at no additional cost. Another thing that impressed me was when they discovered that they had under-priced an item by nearly $1,000...they honored the original bid. ASP is a high-integrity company that does fantastic work. I am really disappointed with this business. I recently moved into a home that has a pool and on recommendation from the home inspector we needed some of the pool equipment examined and possibly repaired and then because I'm a pool novice I wanted to set up weekly pool cleaning. I checked out Yelp and ASP was highly recommended. I called the number and talked with a pleasant woman. She said that it would be two different technicians, one for repair and one for cleaning and the repair technician would be at my house 4 days later and the cleaning technician would call me. Four days later I call just for a general window of time when the repair technician would be there. The pleasant woman couldn't say. She told me that the technician works an odd schedule, that there are other jobs ahead of mind, and because there was rain in the forecast that he might not even come. The best she could do was have the technician call me when he was in his way over. All I wanted was a best guess if he would be there in the morning or afternoon so I could run some errands. I am also perturbed because he might not have shown up at all and I don't think I would have been notified. However, the technician called early afternoon that he's on his way. He is the only reason I'm giving this place 2 stars. He listened to what I said, he did a thorough inspection of the equipment, and he gave advice about pool maintenance without making me feel like an idiot. It's been about 10 days since my initial call and the cleaning technician hasn't called me at all. There has been no follow up about scheduling services. For the number of pool servicing companies in the area, you would think the companies would have better customers service and follow through. I'll take my business elsewhere. read more

I have been trying to get my pool cleaned properly for months. The old company I was using was sold, and the new company could not get it's act together. The pool was left dirty, water quality was poor, they took 1 month to just get the key transferred to the proper people, and were unresponsive to complaints about debris left on the pool floor. ASP Pools (Derek and Todd) were very responsive to my requests for estimates and service. Todd kept me informed every step of the way, and left my pool in sparkling condition. I'm glad I called because Bryan, the guy who came out, was super friendly and professional, easy to talk to about our problem, and gave us great advice. For the record, the job was not finished and all of the pool hardware (all the eyeballs, not just one) that needed to be installed. I had to install a new polaris connection myself to make it functional. Darren only came out to collect the outstanding balance. To be clear, the lack of follow up to complete the service is not my main issue. It is that the gel coating was applied incorrectly causing me to have to have it done again 4 years later for something that should have lasted 10+. The current company gives a 5 year labor and lifetime warranty. ASP and Darren were the cheaper bid but you get what you pay for. For anyone looking to have their pool refurbished, I urge you to look elsewhere. read more

We've been using ASP for weekly pool service and maintenance for a couple of years now. They are on their A game always. They arrive when they say they will. They do an excellent job keeping the pool up. They let us know if something is wrong with the equipment and if you approve repairs, they immediately address the issues. Customer service is excellent. These guys know what they are doing and make my job as a pool owner super easy. We tried several companies before them. Some are less expensive. NOT WORTH IT. The amount you save gets spent on headaches, sloppy work and a lack of personal attention. I'm completely confident in recommending ASP to friends, family and strangers alike. Do not use this company! I cancel the pool maintenance service with ASP over a year ago (because it was terrible). At the time, they claimed that I had not paid 2 invoices. I presented them with copies of receipts for payment of the invoices that was made through their online payment system, but they have persisted in claiming that I still owe them money because their broken accounting system says so. They continued to harass me for payments for over a year, and now they have the taken their harassment to a new level - they referred the matter to a bill collector. They do poor work and cannot be trusted. read more

Without reservation these guys are the real deal. I had a complete renovation done, tile, coping, new equipment, new plaster and a new pad poured. They really know what they are doing. Great experience with ASP. Darren quoted, advised and managed the entire process. They installed a tanning ledge, new pebbly finish, tile work new pump & light as well as entire deck removal/patio installation. It was very smooth and Darren was the first to find and fix any issues that came up. A quick call and the issue was resolved (and he followed up to make sure it was right). He even had his crew pull down the newly installed tile because of a factory color issue. Their pricing was completely in-line with the other bids and I felt that Darren's experience and onsite presence really eased the entire process. read more

Do not use this company if you have anything more than a very basic repair to do. While the people are all very nice, their kindness doesn't get the job done right. Followed again by a phone call with a telephone representative. At each juncture I was told an "area manager" would contact me shortly to schedule a meeting. American Swimming Pool company has worked on my pool in the past, finding and fixing a leak as well as repairing tile and I have always been extremely happy. But they have risen to a new level of help and care. i live in Rowlett and my home was one of the homes that is a total loss and will be demolished. I needed help with my pool being winterized as I no longer have electricity and there is no way to run the pumps when it is below freezing. ASP promptly came out to help. My insurance company said the pool was not damaged but ASP has experience with tornado damaged pools having worked on pools in Ferris Texas. They said the only way to determine if there was damage is to drain the pool and remove all the debris. Sure enough they found quite a bit of damage. They are working directly with the insurance adjuster. They also secured my pool with the orange fencing as my fence was broken by the tornado. These people have gone over and above to help me. They have come back multiple times in a week and are now with the help of my neighbor (as I have no water), filling the pool halfway for the winter. They have advised me not to do work while the house is demolished and initial build is started. When it is time, they will do all the work to get my pool repaired after the tornado. I will never call any other company again. This is my company for life. read more

We used ASP of Dallas to re-plaster our pool. Darren was my salesperson and he worked with us to hit our budget and offered several fair options to choose from. He gave me the best overall quote out of 5 other companies. He kept in touch during the job and I valued his follow up. The crew was exceptional and very friendly, the crew leader came back on Saturday to answer a question in person versus just calling. We had a great experience with this company when our contact was Sam but Darius (spelling may be wrong) has shown this company may now be in for the quick buck instead of a long term partnership. We requested our pool to be opened for a quote of $225. Darius came the date requested, but we forgot to turn on the pool on at the breaker box. Totally our fault....it had been off all winter....honest mistake. He put the the salt water cell in, the ladder crooked and did not tighten it, he says he put chemicals in, but the receipt we usually get with an itemized list was not provided. Again our fault, Darius agreed to come the next day, but didn't, didn't call, no word from him. So we cleaned the pool our selves....the kids were itching for some spring break fun. Since the pool was not cleaned by the company we requested the itemized list from Darius and in exchange the balance credited towards our pool cleaning service. Again, no word from Darius, until we called him today, two days later, stating his boss would not allow he credit, since we forgot to turn on the pool. If anything, make sure you turn on your pool before you request their service....they will not remind you. BUT beware Darius, we asked to speak to the manager or owner ourselves, but that never happened. read more

We moved into a new house in October and really didn't like the pool cleaning company we inherited. My wife researched like crazy and found ASP. Herschel, the owner, came out and made us feel very comfortable. They first installed a suction cleaner. I was thinking of doing it myself, but after pricing it out it was cheaper having them do it. Also, their tech is GREAT. He removes our pool net, which the previous company refused to do. He also answers all the questions I may have. This cleaning company is a tad higher (about $20/mth) than other companies, but we are much happier with them. I'm usually very price sensitive, but I feel like I'm getting a great deal b/c of the service and actual work they do. I attempted to contact several pool repair companies as I like to search around and make sure I'm getting the best deal. I was stood up by three other companies, one that set up an appointment on a work morning, therefore, I took the morning off and they ended up never showing up or calling to tell me they weren't showing up, so when Darren from ASP showed up on time and at a time that was convenient for me I was already feeling like this was the companies for me. Darren was very friendly and helpful with everything. He is very easy to get in touch with by email, text or phone. I was very happy with the speed and quality of the work. My pool was originally done in the 70's and had not been updated once since that time. It was in desperate need of a full make over. I got a new deck, new coping, new tiles and a re-plaster. Could not be happier with the way it turned out. Everything looks amazing. It's like a brand new pool. And I certainly felt like the pricing was very fair! I've had a few questions for Darren after the job was done and he has still been incredible helpful and available.
