I have been an America's tire company fan for many many years, until last week. I most frequently use the store in Gilroy ca. We recently found a screw in one of our tires, so i had my wife take it there for repair. The screw was located in the shoulder of the tire, and she was told it couldn't be repaired. The sales man, his last name was Martinez, told my wife she had to purchase 4 new tires. We catch one screw in one tire, and we were told we had to purchase 4 new tires. He told her we couldn't repalce just two, because the tread thickness would would be uneven and cause the vehicle damage. What a scam. I feel this sales man was taking advantage of my wife, and assuming she would by off on this scam. When my wife called me, I asked to speak with the salesman. He told me the same thing. He then went on to say it was Honda's recommendation, and out of his hands. After I hung up, he called an unk. Honda dealership, and they told him he could replace only two tires. At this time I told my wife to leave, and I would take care of the tire later. I then looked up America's Tire Company's Vision and Values on their web site. And I quote, "treat customers and one another with with respect and fairness, help those in need, and do what is right". Because this salesman was taking advantage of my wife, America;s Tire Company has lost a good customer. Came in with an appointnent and they gave me a 45 minute estimate to do the work. After 45 minutes of waiting they still hadn't started working on my truck. I voiced my frustration about how long it was taking and they made excuses about having other customers so they shouldn't have been held to their estimate. I told them that's the reason I made an appointment and that they should expect to be held to all their estimates. No response. Honesty doesn't seem to be their policy and they clearly don't make customer satisfaction (after you hand them your keys) a priority. read more

america tires drops the ball AGAIN! i made an appointment online to get tires installed on my wife's car. the next available day was wednesday i placed the order on monday morning. i requested to take off work early to get here in time to make my appointment. i walk in and was helped by shawn he asked if i had an appointment i said yes we continue outside to get information from my car mileage,etc and we come back inside and he starts looking up my appointment and starts ringing me up and asked if i wanted to add protection on the tires i asked how much and we discussed it and i said yes to it and then come to find out.. MY TIRES ARENT EVEN HERE!!!! seriously! what a joke! i ordered them online on monday and they sent me a confirmation that on wednesday is my appointment to come here and see that my tires aren't even here is completely unacceptable! how are you going to run a business like that. he then went on and said they will be here tomorrow and if i could wait.NO! i took off today specifically to get my tires installed TODAY! not tomorrow. I then asked if he had tires in stock that he can install today he replied yes but there more expensive. i told him since you guys DROPPED THE BALL AGAIN! if he could sell me those at the same cost as my original order. he stated no but i can give you a discount?! really?! you guys dropped the ball and now i still have to pay more to get my service you guys promised me you were going to provide on my confrontation email??? completely unacceptable! so now im paying more money to get my tires done on the day you (american tires) told me when the appointment was available! and its already 6pm and i'm still waiting to get my tires put on and my appointment was at 5pm?? these guys havent even started on my vehicle yet!? totally bad customer service and from a company like american tires you would think other wise! last time i come here! i should have not given them a second chance! this business is a joke! dont buy tires from them! full of lies and not willing to make things right unless we ask for it! read more

Yesterday I arrived at my parents house for my Dads birthday with a screw in my tire. Knowing I shouldn't drive back to San Jose with a bad tire I turned to yelp to find a reputable place. Well thank you Yelp friends because this place rocks. I called and Jimmy answered the phone. I let him know about my tire and he said it would be free as long as it was fixable. I didn't understand and quickly asked him what was the catch. He said none and if I dropped my car off it would take about an hour and a half. My Dad followed me over and sure enough there was Jimmy, smiling and courteous. He rang me up and the charge was "0". He then asked if Id like my tires rotated, yes, again for free. My Dad and I left feeling peace of mind that my car was in good hands. As told Jimmy called and we drove back over to pickup my car. There she was as good as new. My parents were so appreciative that my Mom asked that I give the staff a jar of our homemade jam. America's Tire has it right with great customer service. Chas assisted me on a timely manner. Unfortunately there assistant manager ISIAH was kind of an ROOD and an ass. He assisted one of his employees on changing my tire and resetting my TPM light. But instead they set off all of the check engine lights and claimed it's a problem with my car and they had nothing to do with it. That there OBD tool doesn't do that and it's a "simple" reset. Apparently not. I did not bring my car in with a CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. Then he told me to take it to the dealer to see what they say and before I pay to bring it back to them to see what they can do. As if I have that much free time to waste on something he's claiming they did nothing wrong. Now I have to loose and another work day to take care of this issue. And if they do not take care of it, i will gladly loose another day to file a lawsuit in court to get my days off paid along with my car repairs because of what they did. Now if everything can be taken if I will gladly eat my words. Until then.... I am extremely upset and unsatisfied with the managers response. I should of went to BIG O TIRES instead since it was across the street where I got a flat. read more

Had a piece of metal stuck in my tire and I could hear the hissing of the air escaping, I came back to Americas tire to get it looked at, was promptly greeted and the tech told me they would check it out and it looked to be a patchable. They didn't charge me and he gave me an ETA of 45 minutes, Lo and behold they were done in 40 minutes. I must say its a huge improvement and I'll definitely be back to get any tire service done here. read more

WOW!!! Where should I start, so I purchased some run flat tires on 1/11/18 salesman told me that they did not have Run flats in stock and it would take 24 hours for them to receive them so to drop off my car at 9:00am the following day 1/12/18. Called and they said they had still not came I spoke with them and told them that i really needed them because i was going out of town Saturday evening, they told me Saturday morning they would be ready. So my wife goes Saturday around noon to drop off the vehicle and only to find out tires had still not arrived. At this moment I call them back since I was still at work and they tell me they couldn't not do anything about it but they had already taken MY MONEY!! I explained to them that I was leaving out of town and now need to rent a vehicle which now I end up doing but whatever no big deal now I think we'll Monday my tires should be in. WRONG! They did not come in. So now i call them today 1/16/18 all I get is another sorry your tires are still not in from the person answering the phone. So not only do I feel insulted by this place I feel cheated and lied to. Honestly if you want to save yourself some time, frustration, and DO NOT want to be lied to, and also have them take your money without them giving your tires, and stand in line for more than 30 minutes STAY AWAY!!! I got a nail in my tire on the way to LA so I had to turn around and find a place that would patch it up. I found this place and was sure glad that I did. The tire check service was free and they told me to wait for an hour and a half since they were pretty busy. However, it only ended up taking 50 minutes. Many people walked out happy and so did I. Went to Americas Tire in Gilroy on the recommendation of Jose Fernandez at the Watsonville Wells Fargo Bank on Clifford and Freedom. I normally do the drive up, but needed to know the hold time on a check I was depositing so went in. Glad, I did, being the chatty person I am, my tire search was mentioned and Jose gave me the run down on Americas Tires in Gilroy, even mentioning the various rebates!!!!!!. Got home and online and no lie, in 10 minutes i had ordered the tires, booked the install for two hours later and got the credit card for the tires 6 months no interest. I arrved 30 early, they were BUSY, but things moved very quickly and I was waited on within 10 minutes. Ozzy helped me out, no worries that I was early, answered all my questions and gave me great advice, then said it would be an hour wait for the tires. It was pretty quiet by then, but 30 minutes into the wait they were BUSY again, checked my watch, UGH 30 more minutes, and as I look up, there goes my car into a parking place and my name is called!!!!!! 30 MINUTES EARLY!!!!! Advised to come back in 5000 miles for the free tire rotation handed my key fob and I was on my way. I AM A FAN!!!!!! SO, THANK YOU Jose at Wells Fargo and Ozzy with a Y, you ROCK!!!! Ok...so this place is amazing! We were on a road trip from LA to San Francisco when our tire on our BMW pops. This was the only place near that had run flats. So, bummed out, we hit a u turn. The service at this place made up for the time lost and inconvenience of a busted tire. Jose was extremely friendly and took care of us immediately! We were out of there within 30/45 minutes! They make it a point to make sure that you understand every aspect of the status of your tires it sounds like a simple matter but even if it's just helping you begin to plan for six months from now that you are going to need to buy new tires and begin to think about what type of tires i'm going to need him with various price points are possible , that's actually really helpful yet the never had anybody in the consistent basis take that approach is refreshingly professional. So the prices are out rages right well now they're willing to sell you cheap tires as well as the best or something in between and it got it all right there in their database to show you they're going to try to sell you a good tire because They sincerely believe that's the best value but they have tires that are probably half that price to show you also, so don't let the initial quote scare you. But here's the amazing thing that she may or may not know that is they guarantee their tires during the life of the use of them so if you ever have a problem nail or anything damages your tire you bring it into them and they'll treat it fairly you might get your tire repaired might get a new tire whatever it is they might sell you a tire for less but they're going to make right by you him and make a good business decision for both parties. So at least call them next time you're looking for tires and see what the difference is. If you decide you still want to buy from the very cheapest place maybe you save 20 or 30 but sometimes you end up getting surprised by the ad on cost of the end right across through valve get gauge stem whatever it cost for recycling tires and all these other costs might end up surprising you the actual that comparison side-by-side. But you know what it's a non-issue, as their representative explained to me today they will match any market price that you bring to them, so someone else had the same tires cheaper? And the inferior cheap customer service to go along with it bring that Adv in and get the best service around with the same price so there's no reason to do business anymore anywhere else.I don't know but I'd say I'm always gonna buy tires from these guys! read more

Will not return to America's tire. I went looking to have a my tire repaired from a screw. I was told they could not fix the tire and I needed a new one. I was given some prices on tires however they didn't have what I needed in stock. I asked for my car back so I could find the tire I needed. This is when things became extremely uncomfortable...they asked me to order a tire and they would price match if I found the same tire at a cheaper price. I informed them I didn't want to order a tire I wanted one today and if I couldn't find it I would call and order. Then I was told they couldn't put my tire back on and I could leave my car there while I checked out other places. That would be great if they were walking distance. I once again asked for my car back. This time my tire was brought to me so that I could see the screw. Not sure how that would change the fact that I needed a tire the same day and America's tire did not have one for me. I again asked for my car back...after a couple more times of me reminding the staff that I owned the car and wanted it back and them telling me I had to order a tire because they couldn't put it back together for me, I finally made progress and received my car back with a used tire they had in the back. My intention was to stop by Costco to see if they had a tire in stock, if not I was going to call America's tire and order the tire I needed. However simply because I felt like I was being bullied into ordering something by America's tire they will never receive any more of my business. Went in yesterday to get a flat fixed. My rim had cracked, which caused the flat. They covered the tire (I had just purchased 2 mo prior from here) but really blew it!!! Instead of mounting the new tire on my spare rim, they mounted it on the cracked rim! REALLY??? This is not only wrong it endangered my life! I drove back home over Pacheco Pass on a cracked rim! Thankfully I didn't have another blow out. Have had to use my roadside AGAIN to get the spare put back on & will have to drive back over the pass to get their mistake fixed. Shop elsewhere if possible & if not... WATCH them work on your car and double check everything!!! read more

Went to America's Tires to get some tires and wheels for the daily driver. They got them on within an hour. I then noticed a little unbalancing doing 65 mph later in the week. For all you 5 star customers on yelp. You were fooled. This is a privately owned and operated business that operates on pushing tires. My wife went in last week for a tire rotation with me trailing behind in our second vehicle. A sales attendant met her in the parking lot and quickly went through her tires with his tread gauge. I came up behind them as they walked into the service area. He went right to a free standing graph in the center of the service floor and started going through the tread numbers. He indicated that her front left inside tread was below their allowable tread depth and that because of that number they could not rotate her tires. He then began to start his sales pitch on buying a set of tires. I stopped him and asked if i could have the tread depth numbers to verify at another tire store. He refused to give me the numbers. as I walked out of the store a gentlemen stopped me outside the front door. He had overheard my conversation with the sales person and stated that he had purchased a set of tires and came in for his normal 5 thousand mile rotation after the tires had a total of 20 thousand miles on them. They took him to the same graph and indicated that he to had a tire that did not meet their standards for a tire rotation. He ended up calling the cooperate office to verify their policy. Rather than dealing with the privately owned shop they sent him a new set of tires. If you want to continue your relationship with his shop be careful you may end up buying tires when you don't need them. read more

I called on Sat at 9 AM and was told I don't need an appointment if I'm on my way from Hollister and they would get to my vehicle immediately. When I arrived 20 mins later, I was told there was a 3 hr wait. I made an appointment for later in the day and arrived early. I was there for a routine rotation, which is free with the purchase of tires. The SALESMAN wants to take a look at the tires... i tell him straight away I'm not looking to purchase new tires, I just want them rotated. First he says he can rotate them side to side but not front to back, but he has some tire he will sell me. Then after I tell him I'm leaving, he says he will rotate them. I back out of my vehicle and he tells me he won't rotate them front to back... He mentions it would be safer to buy new tires... WOW! I'm going home to rotate the tires myself. I will never bring my vehicle back. Thanks for wasting my time twice today. read more

I'll never go anywhere else for tires as long as this shop continues to maintain their high standards. The first time I was there (about 3 years ago) waiting for two new tires, one of their employees came to explain to a lady who was also waiting that yes, they would happily put the tires on that her husband had specifically told her to purchase. However, there was a better tire for her vehicle----at a lower price(!)---and would she like the manager to phone her husband to discuss their options? At that moment, I was sold. Since then, I've bought 2 sets of tires from them, and I'm due for another. My husband has also bought his tires there, and has been really pleased. He's had 2 flats that required tire replacement, and they've cheerfully taken care of him under the warranty at minimal cost. I had a slow leak that I had them look at last week. I made an appointment for the next morning, and got the leak fixed and my tires rotated, all at no charge. My appointment was for 9:00; I was told it would take an hour, and I walked out the door at 10:01. If you go in with an emergency, expect to wait because they're busy and they give priority to scheduled customers. (Personally, I think that's the way it SHOULD be.) As a repeat customer, I know they have all my records in their system, and I don't have to try to remember which oversized tires I like best on my vehicle for optimum handling. Next time I go in I'll be able to ask whether there's anything new that I'd like better. I'll get a straight answer, and I won't be talked down to just because I'm a woman, either! read more
