This once was my go-to place to buy tires. Never again. I went in today to get an air leak checked shortly before they closed. The first person saw that I had what he thought was a nail in the rear passenger side tire. He told me it wouldn't be a problem and to just check in with the office. I went into the office and waited about 10 minutes for someone to come to the desk so I could be checked in. Other staff members saw me in there, but they kept walking in and out. I'm sure they were busy with other tasks, but it would have been nice if someone had said something to me. Once someone finally came to the desk where I was waiting, I explained the issue. He informed me that it would only be about a 20-30 minute wait and that they would patch it for free. I was not aware that they offered free patching service and was prepared to pay to get it done. I decided to go across the street to get a drink while I waited. I received a notice that they were taking my car into a bay about 15 minutes later - much sooner than I expected. I crossed the street and saw that they had already taken off my tire. I walked towards the bay, and saw the piece of metal that was sticking through into the inside of the tire. I was surprised and asked what it was because I didn't realize right away. He told me it was some kind of drill but. I said wow, and that's when the guy told me it couldn't be patched because the hole was too big. For the record, the hole can't be larger than 1/4" or else it can't be patched. Also, the puncture was caused by a screwdriver bit designed to go into a handheld cordless drill like a DeWalt or Ryobi or Milwaukee. It was a at least 4 inches in length, but the width was barely the size of a standard wooden pencil. At first, I thought he was joking. I smiled and said really? He said it again with a straight face: "it can't be patched. It's too big." I asked what my options were, and he said that I would need a new tire. I asked what would that run me, and he stepped away. He came back and told me the lowest priced tire he had for my vehicle was a $260 Falken. I've actually been looking into what a new set would cost me since although I have plenty of tread left on all 4 of my tires, I knew I'd have to get some new ones by the middle of next year. That price was ridiculous for one tire that's not even a higher end brand. Falkens are not bad tires, but they're not top tier either. I asked him once more if he was 100% certain that it couldn't be patched. He told me that it can't be done because the hole is just too big. I laughed a little inside. I was in a rush to get somewhere, but I refused to be hustled. I paused to think for a few seconds when he decided to say something more. But instead of asking me if I wanted to look at other options for tires, he simply asked me if I'd like to put it back on the way it was. He said the leak was slow and I would be fine as long as I kept filling it with air when it dropped to a point that set off my TPS. I said sure. Put it back on. The leak is actually really slow. It hasn't dropped more than 6 PSI since I left that location about 5 hours ago. I'm definitely going to be placing a call in to their corporate office about this, and I'm going to go back and speak to a manager when I have some time. I'll also be going to another local tire shop that I know is capable of patching such a small puncture. They won't try to hustle me there, and they definitely won't be too lazy to do the required work. Yes, I'll have to pay to get it done. But I'd intended to do that from the start. When I learned that it was going to be a free service at America's Tire, I planned to just tip the guy the $20 for doing it for free. Bottom line is that you should definitely shop around for new tires before coming here. Make sure you're getting the best price and not getting scammed. And definitely don't come here for any kind of repairs. They will lie or just be too lazy to do it, and then they will try to convince you to spend your hard-earned money on new tires and a warranty when your current tire could be fixed. I'll be sure to update this review once I get the tire off. I will post a picture of the bit that's piercing the tire, and I'll post a picture of it once it gets patched at a more trustworthy place. America's Tire just lost a customer, and I'll be sure to spread the word to my family and friends. read more

True story. In the beginning of March my wife took the car back in because one of the tire sensors were reading a bit off from the others. You see We just had them put 2 new tires on the day before, and all tires had the same reading except the back right. The guy told us he would make sure all pressure would be the same but this back right tire read much different from the other 3. So she took it back in to see if that sensor was merely reading incorrectly (for the rear right tire). They guy recommended she should get 4 new sensors! She tried calling me but I was busy at work and couldn't answer the phone, so she trusted this tire salesman and got 4 new sensors for a hefty price! Once she told me what happened during my lunch break, I was like what?! How dare they so blatantly do some underhanded stuff like this?! So I called down and explained the CLEARLY underhanded sale just made to the guy who answered the phone. However the guy who answered didn't want to handle it. Side note*** You know how in the more respectable days when businesses cared, if a complaint was received whoever answered would pass you right to a manager and the manager would apologetically rectify the situation immediately? Well not in this new age of course! So the guy who answers the phone passes the buck quickly like "oh well that wasn't me,- here let me transfer you to the guy who sold it to her". Then he places me on hold. I'm on hold for 10 minutes. (Pitiful customer service right?) So I hang up and call back and the guy who he said he was transferring me to answers. I let him know straight up it's bad business to sell someone something that is NOT necessary just to get a big sale. He says "well I only recommended it. But she ok'd it." No integrity whatsoever right? But hey this is the new age we live in. So I insist he is wrong for it. And finally after going back and forth, he says, "well you can come back and I can "try" to find them and reinstall them and refund you." So I'm like fine. Even though I don't trust this guy whatsoever, I at least want our money back because the sell was a dirty one. I'm like let me get my money back and we will just go to the dealership rather than some con-artist allowed to treat customers in this manner. So wife takes it back. He reinstalls the 4 tire sensors and refunds her. And guess what. Not one sensor has worked since. Not even for a few minutes did they work. So what, did he purposely break them all? I won't go as far as to say he was THAT low down and dirty. But the fact is it hasn't worked since. All 4 suddenly broken. So you tell me. What do YOU think happened??? I had to be just satisfied with the refund but now I am out of 4 whole air pressue sensors. Sad part is, I have been a long time customer of America tires. But never again. This is ashame that they treat their customers this way. Seemingly no one who will rightfully deal with the customers. The guy who answered the phone should have passed me to a manager, not to the messed up guy who did the dirt! Why isn't a manager overseeing what the employees are doing? Where's the accountability??? Does that not exist in today's workforce? *Sigh* It's probably just a sign of the times. These days are there any honest places anywhere, who truly care about customer service? These days, one has to count it a blessing just to get the job done properly. I had an appointment for an installation of prepaid tires. The first employee asked for the credit card I used and my ID. I gave him my key fob. 2 minutes later another employee asked to see my credit card and ID. I showed both a second time. As other customers without appointments were coming in, they were told the wait would be less than 1 hour for tire installations. As jobs were being finished on cars prior to when I came in, personnel would drive the customer's car to the front and hand them the car key. While watching my car being worked on in the service bay, my car was parked on the street after it was done in 1 hour. Not knowing what else needed to be done on my car, I assumed that my car was not ready. I then saw customers who had come in after me being called their names because their car was done. I asked when my car would be ready 20 minutes later and an additional 10 minutes waiting in line. He asked for my name and checked the order. He then handed me my car key and said that my car was ready a long time ago. I then told him it would have been nice if I could have been notified, to which he replied, "Somebody called your name, but there was no reply". I told him ever since I had been in the waiting area observing my car as well as others, nobody had come to the customer waiting area to tell me my car was ready. He said, "Sorry about that". Normally, I have never had problems with employees lying to me, but today an employee parked my car straight away from the service bay. I hope this was just an isolated incident. However, on a previous visit, I had purchased windshield wipers, but I didn't realize it until I came in again to have my tire pressure checked when an employee recommended getting new wipers. This place is BUSY needless to say. BUT it's not the lack of effort or work. Every bay is full, full lobby, and ALL the employees are working hard and running around. Given I was a walk in, I had to wait an hour and a half (that's my fault didn't have an appointment). I have to say being as chaotic it is, Norman does an AMAZING job managing all this chaos multitasking at its best! He makes sure every person is greeted or addressed when they walk in the door, even though he's working with a customer, and making sure the other employees are on top of their task. He makes sure to keep everything moving like a well oiled machine. He's on top of the waitlist and making sure he's working through that list asap. Even with some heated customers he keeps his demeanor cool and calm, and diffuses the situation, and handles it all with respect. I have to give a shout out to Juan my service representative, he was very professional and knowledgeable handled everything promptly. Hands down the best customer service I've had at a tire shop EVER and I've been at my share of tire shops! Customer service is still worth something in my eyes. This place was recommended to me by my mechanic who is just a few blocks away. So I went there today 1/12/2024. Paid cash for 4 new tires. They didn't have change to give back. They said they'll have to go to the bank and get my change when the service is complete. This is at 1pm. An hour and half of waiting for them to even get to my car. They come back and tell me they can't take off the lug nuts to change my tires. I was at my mechanic right before to get the drive shafts replaced. They didn't have an issue taking my tires off. Stay away from America's Tire Unusually bad workmanship America's Tire did terrible work on multiple visits. Initially, they did a bad tire repair that forced us to take back our car due to many low tire pressure warnings, in July 2023, Oct. 2023 and in Nov. 2023. They admitted to doing a bad job on Nov 20, 2023 and fixed their tire repair that was done before by them. We had to take the car back to them on Jan 18, 2024 for the same low tire pressure warning. They checked and said they cannot repair the tire anymore and agreed to give us one new tire for free. Then they tried to charge us about $ 223 of another tire saying that it is better to replace both. Why do we have to pay for the other tire if we did not need it in the first place if America's Tire had fixed the tire properly in the beginning? On this day they did not reset the tire pressure warning and we had to drive back to that Pasadena location. After we came home, we realized that all 4 tire valve caps were missing. They never finished the work before letting us drive away. This is the worst ever experience from a tire shop. Now the car drives different with that one new tire. Those original tires are in good condition since we don't drive a lot. But now we are forced to drive with just one brand new tire because of the terrible work by America's Tire. read more

These guys were terrific! We have a Tesla and not all tire shops can work on Tesla tires, which we did not know. After a long, fruitless search Sunday, I called America's Tire Monday morning. They told me to bring the car in, as they do deal with Tesla tires They were able to repair it, and on top of that, the service was FREE., We will be going to them when it is time to replace the tires on the car. Not only were they great, the waiting area and office are very clean, and the staff courteous and friendly. Honestly I have gone here a few times, but my recent experience was different. I purchased 4 new tires but within the time frame my tires were getting changed the guys found a problem with safely securing one of my tires. They alerted me that they will fix it and it will be safe. Sadly I had to leave the car overnight, all the staff were apologetic, they were attentive to the situation. Norman the manager worked diligently to make everything right. Though it took time to get my car back I feel confident in recommending this place knowing they will take care of your appropriately. I called a couple of weeks ago to setup an appointment, but was told the tire pressure monitor sensors (TPMS) for my car had to be ordered first. Ok, no problem, but you said you'd call back once the TPMS arrived. No call back, a bad sign, so I went to a Toyota dealership myself since this is a common part in stock at all Toyota dealerships. I bought the sensors, drove my vehicle to another tire shop, and had the work done. I purchased 2 tires online and made an appointment on 4/11 for installing. Everything went smooth except when I took my car, they didn't match the air pressure with my old tires (new tires in rear has 43 psi while old tires only has 40 psi in the front) No problem, I drove my car back to them on 4/14. I parked in the air check area around 5:10pm and simply told them what the problem is. Two technicians told me that I need to move my car since they need to help out the lady first. They both told me to park into the street but I told them no, I just moved my car and park behind that lady's car. (I said no because I really think this is not necessary, they are not as busy as they usually do) One of them told me that after he helped out the lady checking her tires , he would help me out. When this technician do his work, 4 technicians went to the lady's car and joking around. It took like several minutes and the lady's car is done and she took off. Now this is the best part, all technicians disappeared! I just waited there alone for 10 minutes! I had no choice to go to the store and ask for assistance. Luckily there is a sale rep who can help me out and do the air checking for me. I would not recommend people to buy tires over there since I really don't think they care about customer. I really don't know why they don't check the air pressure with all tires, its obviously doesn't care much about customer safety as well. Not to mention about those technician I met on 4/14, their store manager must be very proud to them! read more

I go to americas tires because I've only had great experiences. I called and spoke to Eddie and asked if I can come in after my appt time he said no problem. I get their wait and Javi helps me. He was bare minimum profesional. Very cold not very happy or even nice. Saw Eddie helping the guys next to me and wouldnt you know it he was smiling, very professional and nice. I was already wishing Eddie helped me. Javi was explained to me that I need 4 tires due to wear and tear which I believe him but he almost seemed mad about it. It was strange, as we check out inside I mention I might have a coupon. He disregards it and says I think it's the wrong shop and ask if the same tires I got last time were okay. He didn't bother to look at the coupon which was for americas tires NOT tire depo like he said. Anyway I let it go try not to even get mad and I said sure those are decent right he just looks at me and is like yeah there sentury. Not at all trying to show me or explain to me what tires I can get or what my options are. The guy didn't even try to up sell me. Just a rude guy. As I leave he tells me my car will be ready at 6:15. So I leave for a walk. I'm planning to be back at 6:15 I get a text at 6:10 my car is ready and call if I have questions but they close at 6 so I call back to tell them I'm walking back and there's no answer because they close at 6! I get here and there all closed up! I couldn't believe it. No call asking where I am. No note in my car no voicemail saying where my keys are at and how I can get them. So ridiculous! I understand you close at 6 but you told ME that my car will be ready at 6:15 ! After close I get here at 6:20 and there's no one here! They should shut down this location based on a manager that engages and trains his staff on unethical practices. Unless you have practically brand new tires, you can count on a staff trained to manipulate you into buying tires. They will tell you your tires needed to be replaced immediately or somehow it's an endangerment to your life. And if you don't, they find reasons not to service you even with appointments. For example, even if you make an appointment for flat tire fix or air check but decline to purchase new tires, they either make you wait for 30 minutes or more even with no lines for the air check. For flats, if you decline to buy the tires, this location only will cause fear in you and tell you ahead before they even check the tire that if somehow they take out the tire and it's not fixable, you must buy one of their tires or have it towed away. Otherwise, they keep your car there. Strange but in other locations that's never happens in 10 plus years of being a customer. And in past times, they just put the tire back in and let me drive off. When asked to be shown this policy, 3 managers (aka Larry, Moe and Curry) after 40 minutes could not find it. Only this location. Avoid at all cost. Go down the street to American Tire Depot and be treated like a human. Bunch of scumbags here. Note to customer care review team, if you really care or have concerns, stop with the automated generic response and asking the customer to suffer further by going to your website and filling out more forms. You know you don't care and your managers here know you don't care which is why crap like this happens. This is one of the lowest rated locations you all have. April 2023 Zero stars, gave two for old time's sake Uh oh. These dudes (never seen a woman on staff) are slipping. They used to offer a free, easy air check, with a dedicated bay. Now, clearly they don't want to do this - they make you jump through hoops now (check-in inside, park on street, etc). I get it, I really do - it costs labor to do free checks. Then be honest and STOP the program, we don't need your stingy nonsense. But don't be surprised, if I have a tire problem, when I go somewhere else (and my tires are a horrible $500+ each, so you'll miss out big). What an absolute scam! I picked up a nail in my tire this morning on my drive to work so I called to see if they offer plug or patch service & was told yes. I said great, how much? They said it is free of charge so I said sounds too good to be true but I'll go by. The moment I arrived & walked to the counter, there were two people at the counter and they were looking at each other with a smirk on their face. The first gentleman asked how he can help so I told him I had a nail in my tire so I came in to get it plugged. He turned to the other colleague & said "told you!" And they both started laughing like they were betting on if I looked like they were going to be able to sell me something or not. I told them I had a nail in the tire so the employee told me I just need to do a quick inspection of your car and we'll take care of the nail so I gave him my car keys and sat at the lounge. After 15 minutes he came to me and started a sales pitch on why I need to buy new tires so I told him sounds good, I will be back when I'm not on a lunch break from work. He said alright, we'll have your car done in the next 45 minutes so I proceeded to wait in the lounge. After another 25 minutes a technician came up to me with my tire & started another sales pitch on why I needed a new tire & that they have it in stock right now so I can buy it now. I told him that I was on a lunch break & would have to come back at another time to purchase a new tire & asked him if he found the nail in the tire & he said yes. So I asked him if he took out the nail & plugged the tire & he said no I can't because it might still leak after he plugs it. Now, I have owned over a dozen cars in my lifetime & have had a tire plugged here & there but the only time I have been told they can't plug it is when it's too close to the side wall & this nail was clearly in the middle of the tire when he showed me. I said so you told me you plug tires over the phone & when I get here you try to upsell me on all new tires on the spot & because I'm on a time crunch to get back to work you just refuse to plug my tire? Avoid this place at all costs, they just cost themselves my return to replace the tires & any referrals. What a joke of a business & a complete waste of my time! read more

Get to check in 15 min later and told it doesn't matter if I had an appointment or not--they'll check in based on your place in line. Another 20 min to get my car evaluated and told it would be ready in 1-2 hours. 5 hours later I still don't have my car. Called into the store and they say I was checked in as a "walk-in" instead of an "appointment." Not my fault they checked me in wrong but now they refuse to expedite work on my car despite making all efforts to get this car done earlier. Refused to answer what the point of an appointment is since it clearly doesn't matter. If you have all day and a year to spend without your car, can consider coming here. Or better yet, stop offering appointments since they are worthless and set appropriately expectations that you will wait all day. read more

Got another tire leak yesterday. Rear passenger side. Kinda jacked up my day since I needed to get it addressed. Went into the Pasadena location at around 2pm. Jam packed with people. Unlike my last visit during Covid, you walk into the lobby as usual where people just gather and wait. There isn't a defined line to get into. So just like pre-Covid times, there's always a possibility that things can get messed up, and people cut in in front of others. Which happened yesterday. A middle-aged dude was trying to pick up a car. He came in after me and others... We had already been waiting for 15-20 minutes. Middle aged dude told one of the tire guys that his Tesla key was on the counter and he just wanted to pick up his car. I thought he just needed to get his key and be in his way. But no... he had to be processed and pay up. Short story is that he cut in front of me and the others. I bitched at him about cutting, especially because he started sucking up two employees. But middle aged dude was trying to act like nothing happened. He wouldn't own up to it. Anyhow, even though the employees should've been on top of this, I don't blame them. I've seen people bitch at them for the dumbest things. Sure enough yesterday, some other redneck looking dude with Florida license plates just went off on ALL the employees. Customers were a little unnerved. All the guys working in the garage gathered up, ready to put this dude down if necessary. Luckily, the redneck drove off. Funny thing is he slammed his car underbody on the driveway, as he tried to gun his car out of the lot. Well, my tire leak was apparently fixed. Later that night, the same tire still was leaking. Brought car back this morning. Fewer people, and was able to get my car in quick. This time they replaced the tire under the insurance plan. All things considered, amidst all the drama, and douchebag middle aged Tesla line cutter... I still think the best of America's Tire. They got good guys here. I just wish they would be careful about line cutters. It's happened to me many times in the past. That's why I wasn't going to let Tesla dude get away without owning up to it... Although he ended up not owning it, which really reflects that guys personal character. read more

I came to this shop on Saturday due to having a flat tire because I ran over a nail.. They told me my estimated completion time was 4:15pm which I got there at 3:00pm as I was waiting, I never got a text that my car was completed so I went to ask them at 4:45pm and they were confused if they have done my car or not and then another associate found it in the been where they put completed car keys which was not my case. I asked the associate and he said yes it's done (I didn't receive a text) as the days go by I notice that my tire pressure is still going down so I checked my tire and the nail was still in my tire!!! They did not work on my car whatsoever so they wasted by time. I would most definitely not recommend this location especially during their remodeling. read more
