Awesome center, way better than the surrounding Bowleros / Lucky Strikes! No string pins, proper oil on the lanes, good atmosphere, very affordable, and very friendly staff. Next time I'm back in Arizona I will certainly come back here.

Customer service was AMAZING! Place was clean. Everyone was very attentive. I love that they have unlimited game /bowling as an option. Fair prices on EVERYTHING, Food & mixed drinks was REALLY good! First time here & I will surely make this spot a weekly family go to. I highly recommend this location. Thank you for taking care of my family while we celebrated my nephew 7th birthday

Very reasonably priced especially when you get a Groupon. It's $23 for 2 people for 2 hours. And the food isn't expensive either. Great place to hangout and staff are friendly. Just don't like the outside atmosphere and the area. But overall pretty decent

Vickie is the best manager/league runner around. She treats her guests like family. Monica is always taking care of the bowlers and is a fantastic asset. Thank you team. Unfortunately Neven was the rude employee of the night. Glad I don't see him often. Also unfortunately they fired Jessica. Shame.

1990's purple hammer urethane was perfect in these conditions!

This place will test your ability to adapt! I'm an avid bowler, been bowling in leagues since I was a kid. This particular house is very difficult to consistently score high. This isn't a bad thing, just check your average compared to everyone else's and you'll quickly see some places are just easier to score higher. The lanes are a bit older style. You step up to the approach, something that was done away with in most bowling alleys, and the approach is ACTUALLY WOODEN! This reminds me of when I was a kid. The approach was wood and so were the lanes..some parts are worn more and splintered but that's not why the scoring is hard. It's the lane conditioning or lack of .. I have bowled here on several occasions where the lanes were so dry I used my plastic spare ball as my strike ball and it still over-hooked! I usually use a 1991 Hammer urethane when I go there. It has very low hooking potential and that's perfect for the dry surfaces. I have the highest average on my league but it's easily 15 points lower than at other alleys. The AMF Union Hills location has shown to be consistently oiled and in great condition. Basically if you're a good bowler you can repeat your shot. The BEST bowlers can take that talent then adjust to whatever conditions are thrown at them so it's really good to practice here just don't get discouraged if you bowl a little lower than normal.

What an exceptional find! I was in the market for a new bowling alley, because my regular spot is…read moreswitching over to string pins, and this checked so many boxes. Although further from me, it was more than worth the drive! Locally-owned, and clearly very community-oriented, this was such a fantastic experience. We called ahead on a Thursday night to see if there was a wait, and thankfully there wasn't so we came and were immediately assigned a lane. The prices were different from what was listed online, and were actually cheaper! We opted for unlimited bowling for 2 hours, and had an absolute blast. Even with it being a league night, it wasn't too busy or crowded. My only wish is that they were open later! Although, it was a weeknight haha. The ambience is so nostalgic, it's got all those special touches that make it feel like you've been transported back in time to classic bowling alleys-- like you see older movies. The rental balls are a mix of typical house balls, and what seem to be donated, personal balls. This is super fun if you're looking to try out different weights, makes, and types of grips without having to buy your own ball. The lanes were super greased up, and the scoring was accurate. Food is ordered on electric kiosks and is brought right to your lane. Drinks are ordered directly at the bar and you can walk back to your lane, and keep a tab open. There are so many things to do on top of bowling! There's an arcade and multiple (?) bars that seem to host karaoke on some nights. I highly recommend this place! Especially if you're looking to support local, because it's an absolute gem.

Lots of lanes, a restaurant, a bar, an arcade, lockers, and restrooms. Everyone was super friendly. You can order food and drink on an electronic touch screen by your lane. Even pitchers of soda a beer. I used a Groupon coupon my daughter recommended and got a great deal for two hours for six players. I kept looking for the Mortal Kombat arcade machine.

One of the main attractions at Mavrix is bowling. Another is laser tag. I passed on both and checked out the arcade instead. It was time well spent because it's a pretty awesome arcade. I've been to the Bowlero in North Scottsdale and it's smaller than this one. Here, you have a bunch of fighting and driving games, interspersed with carnival-style games. I played 10 or so games total in about an hour. Wednesday is a great day to go because the games are 50% off. I didn't come away empty-handed either. With the tickets I won, I redeemed them in their prize room. It's a pretty large room too, with more prizes available than the North Scottsdale location. While I didn't have many tickets, I had enough for two pieces of candy and a T-Rex toy. Outside of what I mentioned, Mavrix has plenty of areas to sit, including a full bar. I haven't had food or drinks here, but I did take a look at the menu and it's a pretty extensive one. Definitely nicer overall than your typical bowling alley.

The vibe is super lively and modern, with a lot going on, so it's perfect for groups, date nights, or even just something different to do. The arcade had a good variety of games and the bowling area was clean and well set up. It's the kind of place where you can easily spend a few hours without getting bored. Food and drinks were decent--nothing crazy, but good enough for a night out. The menu has a mix of bar food, appetizers, and drinks, which makes it easy to snack while you play. But honestly, the service alone made me not want to come back. The bartender/waitress took our drink order and clearly made my boyfriend's drink stronger like noticeably stronger. I asked for the same thing at the same moment saying "she was going to hook him up " she didn't do it me, but still charged me the exact same price. That made zero sense and came off unprofessional, like she was more focused on him than actually doing her job fairly. It didn't stop there. My food came out soggy and borderline unappetizing, while his was completely fine. So not only are the drinks inconsistent, but apparently the kitchen is too. For how expensive everything is, you'd expect better service and quality across the board. The place looks nice and has a fun concept, but it's not worth it if the experience depends on who you are or how the staff feels that day. Definitely wouldn't recommend unless you're okay with inconsistent service and being overcharged for less.

We showed up 20 minutes before the movie, scanned our tickets and went to our seats. Nothing showed up! Waited til the movie started and still nothing. I will just go to concessions in the future.
