Most days they don't open until 3 or 4 now, and even on the rare day (Monday, I think?) that they open at noon they're slammed with league play. Used to really enjoy coming in here on a low-key weekday and not being sandwiched in between people. What I still like: - they haven't given in to string pins, like most other places have. - it's not jam-packed with kids. Most people here are actually bowling and aware of proper bowler etiquette. - it's not overdone with bells and whistles, and still has a somewhat smaller feel. Came here 8/30/26. I came here on Sunday for the special where you pay like 15$ for unlimited bowling. That was fine. And the lady at the register was nice. This location usually never has a problem. I scanned the QR code because I wanted a drink and was able to order alcohol from that menu and paid online. So I wait. After like 10 mins (which it should never take 10 mins to make a drink) I went to the bar that had no one there sitting so they weren't even busy and asked about my drink. The bar tender was like "Allison? I need to see your ID" while the order ticket was just sitting on the counter. I could SEE it. So now I'm like wtf? Because I didn't carry my ID to the bar area and was honestly kinda pissed. Because if I didn't get up and ask why my drink was nonexistent I would've been sitting around forever waiting for my drink. No one came by to look at it or ask for it. I get it. I came in to play some arcade games. Mainly air hockey. Since we went on a Monday just after lunch, there was no one in the arcade. We had our choice of any one of them. All the machines worked great. The guy had to get one of my skee ball throws that got stuck. He was friendly and helpful. I got hungry while there, so I ended up ordering nachos. It's a pretty big serving of them. The lady at the front desk and the lady at the snack bar were also nice and friendly. FYI, sodas get refills here. 4 Stars because its good, but there are definite areas of improvement. Lets get straight to the point, we have never had issues with the bowling or food here so that deserves some stars. They also have some arcade games here where you can load up a card and win tickets and choose a prize, its nice for when your kids are tired of bowling. We have come here twice now and each time the pricing is different (assumably because it was at different times). The bowling alley itself is fine, spacious and we had no issues. Now the people working there almost seem as if they're unhappy? The bartender specifically on both occasions has had an attitude and just doesn't seem excited to be there, or as if were inconveniencing her. I always try and approach in a happy and friendly manner but the vibe was just off. She even asked me what I wanted and stopped halfway to grab another girl a drink that just walked up to the bar, thought that was a bit rude since I am sitting there waiting to close my tab out. I thought it was just me and my husband said she did the same thing to him. So in my experience, don't come here thirsty. If you ask for water they give you tap water in a styrofoam cup, do what you want with that info. I did see they have a summer bowling promo but considering the past experiences not sure if we will partake. During the week they have bowling leagues so its very busy (monday-thursday). This place will test your ability to adapt! I'm an avid bowler, been bowling in leagues since I was a kid. This particular house is very difficult to consistently score high. This isn't a bad thing, just check your average compared to everyone else's and you'll quickly see some places are just easier to score higher. The lanes are a bit older style. You step up to the approach, something that was done away with in most bowling alleys, and the approach is ACTUALLY WOODEN! This reminds me of when I was a kid. The approach was wood and so were the lanes..some parts are worn more and splintered but that's not why the scoring is hard. It's the lane conditioning or lack of .. I have bowled here on several occasions where the lanes were so dry I used my plastic spare ball as my strike ball and it still over-hooked! I usually use a 1991 Hammer urethane when I go there. It has very low hooking potential and that's perfect for the dry surfaces. I have the highest average on my league but it's easily 15 points lower than at other alleys. The AMF Union Hills location has shown to be consistently oiled and in great condition. Basically if you're a good bowler you can repeat your shot. The BEST bowlers can take that talent then adjust to whatever conditions are thrown at them so it's really good to practice here just don't get discouraged if you bowl a little lower than normal. read more

Solid place to bowl. It's an AMF, and growing up going to these, it's what one would expect. The bowling area is nice and has plenty of room. The seating areas aren't cramped together and you feel like you have plenty of space. The bathrooms have always been clean in my experience and I like the upbeat music playing. It's good background noise but isn't too loud. We usually come in the mornings so I've never had experience with the bar/concessions. I believe they don't open until a later time but I'm not quite sure. So without commenting on any of that, if you just want to bowl, I recommend it. It's reasonably priced as well, keep an eye out for their various specials during the week. Friendly service when we have been there as well. read more

My wife and I have been bowling at this facility for over 6 years simply because it is the closest such facility to our home. Overall, it is just OK. Lots of problems with pinsetters, ball return, poorly trained front desk staff, etc. However, we keep going back because they have one Manager that keeps the place running. When she is there, problems are quickly addressed and corrected. They have been through 5 to 7 General Managers since we started. The most recent version, Bob Larrick, is the worst of the lot. His incompetence, arrogance and temper are truly impressive. Without going into a lot of detail, when we checked in for our league last Monday, we got to watch Bob completely screw up checking everyone in and arguing with league players. The icing on the cake was when, in front of several league players, he loudly stated that "I am sick of these leagues!" The General Manager of a bowling facility that hates leagues? I am sure Bowlero just hates leagues, too. I'm sure Bowlero makes no money off of league bowlers. read more

Let me preface this review by saying that I suck at bowling... I am lucky to break 80. I go bowling maybe once or twice per year, but I always have fun doing it... So, when my friend told me she wanted a bowling birthday party, I was excited to plan it. I was worried that it would be tough to reserve lanes on a Saturday night, but AMF was extremely accommodating. They allowed me to reserve the 4 lanes we needed in advance with a credit card, no problem. That way, when the group showed up, our lanes would be together and everyone could pay their own way. For $5 per game, it was affordable and fun! We ate before, but I saw several people eating pizza, pretzels, and popcorn from the food stand, and of course, there is a full bar as well! We had the lanes from 8 - 10 which worked out perfect. We brought in a cake and they had no problem with that; they even allowed us to store it in their freezer until we were ready to light the candles, and they supplied us with a knife! ****At 10:00, the bowling alley goes into 'extreme' mode, and it's party time! The lights dim, the music blares, and big screens come down showing extreme sports while you bowl. Next time, we'll have to experience that! I highly recommend changing up your evening activity with a night of bowling every now and then... it's guaranteed fun, and there's no better place than AMF Bowling to do so! read more

Definitely not a strike, but not a guttural experience either. This old building has been brightened, but it's still really old/antiquated. Balls getting stuck, bumpers have to be manually raised for the little kids by a metal pole, and lane wood that look like there needs to be a city ballot initiative similar to approving major road improvement projects. We had pins that had to be reset several times, because they were originally set and had one or more pins fall down in the process. There's a small bar that you can also order food out of, or try to chase down the one poor guy who's trying to cover all 32 lanes...which is a nightmare. The house backs are some of the worst I've ever played with, and the adult shoes were very uncomfortable. I changed my pair once - and the replacement pair were almost just as uncomfortable. The kid's shoes were newer and they had no complaints. Even at the front desk was lacking in tech and basic necessities. When we checked out, we had to sign our debit card slip with a sharpie...because they had no pens (?) On the plus side, the people who work there were very VERY kind/patient. The place was packed on a rain-filled Saturday. The three or so people working in the place were really nice. Bowling ain't cheap either folks. We had 5 kids/2 adults. 1 game a piece and shoes. 7 games/7 pairs of shoes was $75 !! There's discounts available for military and other groups. The food is almost like buying food at Disneyland! SMALL "basket of fries is $5 + change. 1 cheese pizza was $18. Thankfully, the food was decent and they give you a pitcher of water for free :) For that kind of & though...might as well utilize newer lanes/more amenities (like advanced control lanes.) But it's also nice to support a local/hard working business. They look like they're trying to re-invest and grow the venue into something nicer. read more

So many things to be said. Went out for a date night with my boyfriend and first off there was one person in the kitchen, one person running the front and food running and one mechanic. You at least need two in all the positions, for everything to go smoothly. Took about 15 minutes just to be served at the bar. Also every 10 minutes our ball would get stuck in the back or the barrier would get stuck over our pins. After having the guy fix it for the 10th time he finally moved us and then the lane he moved us to wouldn't pick up the pins we were hitting. We played a total of three games and when we got up to the front he charged us for four games. With all the problems we had we should have only paid for two. Next time we will be going to Dave n Busters. The only thing good about this place is the food. read more

Had a wonderful time here on a Friday evening. Lanes weren't packed, and staff was extremely kind. Anytime there was an issue, they were quick to help me. Each booth at a lane is comfortable, but enough for a large group of kids. They have a rack of different sized bowling balls in the back, which makes it easier to find one that actually fits your fingers. Drink and food options are good. Typical higher prices for a bowling alley, but a good selection. Kyle, my server was so friendly and quick to bring drinks. He was very attentive to making sure if we needed anything like refills, he made it happen. Kuddos to him for being awesome. This location used to be so good, but not anymore. I used to go there with my friends at least every weekend but now they're just horrible. Let's start: Customer service: It really lacks. The guy who was working the late Friday shift was so rude to me and said why am I asking so many requests!!! I'm sorry for asking you "once" to please hand me a one size smaller shoe. Pricing: This where it's not worth it anymore. Back then, I used to pay $20 and play for an hour. Now it's $11 per person so our total with shoes came to $25 for one game!!!! Each additional game will cost $6! Absolutely ridiculous. I wish I knew this. Equipment: Again, it used to be good but we couldn't even add 1 more person in our group to play. There was oil on the lanes to an obvious degree. Very bad experience. Wish I could do a 0 star rating. As we arrived we were assigned a lane rented 4 shoes. The 5 was a baby and didn't have his size. We were there about an hour and a half for 1 game. Our lane was missing 1 pin and every time is reset for the next bowler it took more and a min as we watched the other lanes were instantly. Management said they couldn't move us to another lane because they were booked. We called ahead and they said that the lanes were first come first served. And all the lanes were empty. They charged me for 2 games and only played 1 charged for an extra pair of shoes which we didn't get and 5 extra drinks which I had already paid separately. Manager gave us a mean attitude when we asked why and took another 20 mins to get a refund. read more

Went there on a Saturday evening during a date. The staff was courteous and there was no wait at 8pm to get a lane. The rental shoes were clean and in good condition. However, there was one big problem with the ambiance. The layout of the tables and chairs makes no sense to me. Each lane has two round tables which are stacked parallel to the lane. In other words, whichever party gets the rear table is somewhat shutout of the action. It's a very poorly devised layout; I hope they consider changing it. Of course we were the second group to arrive. A family already had taken up the front table. There isn't even a single chair at the score keyboard! We took matters into our own hands and pulled up a couple chairs to the front of our lane. We still had no table, but at least we could watch each other bowl. read more
