Danielle and Beth were the Best bartenders I've seen in a very long time. I don't know what they get paid, but they need to up their salary, hard-working, un frazzled, and they were spot on. We saw a single performer who was fabulous and I'm sad to say I didn't get info on him. Because I would watch him again but last night we went for the Nirvana cover band and we were not disappointed. "Echo of Alt", once they got the sound system fixed, and we could actually hear the singer, they were incredible, so fun. Now I followed them on Facebook to see where they'll be playing next. This place is now open. It is not closed anymore.. I went to the improv at Desert Ridge and Copper blues is the restaurant that serves you your drinks and food. There is a two drink minimum when you go to see a live show. All I can say is WOW!!!!! I expect to pay higher prices, but their prices are absolutely unheard of. I got a bucket of a local beer called WOW (seriously) they charge $68 for a six pack in a bucket of ice. I went to target to check out that beer and a 15 pack is $18.99 they literally charge $11.25 per 12 ounce beer. That is crazy. I can buy a cheap bottle of wine for that and yet I get one beer & their margaritas are $18.99 each and they are small. A side order of french fries is $11.00 I can get a whole meal at In-N-Out for that. Like I said, their prices are absolutely unheard of. What a markup. They must be making a fortune. read more

Nice clean venue with plenty of stalls in the restrooms, no cover the night we were there and a very good acoustic system that did not blow one's ears out! They have a wide stage area and plenty of standing room in front of it to watch the bands and listen to the music. To the left and right of the stage were numerous TV showing sports. Large space that is sectioned into two. Had a blast at adult Disney trivia years ago and recently enjoyed stumbling into an Ozzy Osborne tribute band. I've also met a large group for a moms day out. Great venue to see bands and love that the music stage is higher up and right behind their very long and spacious bar. It makes for a really nice view pretty much anywhere you are in this venue but especially at the bar. I came to see a friend play in his cover band playing songs from the Pretenders and Pat Benatar and could see everything so clearly! Service was good and they have plenty of drafts to choose from. There is also a happy hour menu from 4pm - 7pm. There is pepperoni pizza for $10, but I wasn't in the mood for that. I wanted some protein and had the chicken wings with the dry rub and that was very well made. Probably not something I would eat frequently but every once in awhile is okay. We have been here several times for live music, speaking engagements, and comedy shows but this was my first time coming for what we came for ... a drag show! We went to the Wicked theme drag brunch and as a first timer, I sure did learn a lot, so allow me to share my novice advice. First, buy your tickets online ahead of time and then have your party arrive early to get a good seat and/or to order food. It's gets pretty loud and it's hard for the servers to take a whole table's order over the music and performances. The website said there was a "2 drink minimum" but I couldn't tell if that was per person or just an average of 2 per person per table. Seemed more like average per table when we went this time. I know when we there previously it was a strict "2 per person". We were celebrating a birthday so there was no shortage of drinks being ordered anyway. There were specialty cocktails that were themed and were fun but seemed pricey ($18-$25 each). Second, bring lots singles (as in $1 dollar bills). I was not prepared for this aspect and felt bad as other people were giving the performers money as they came near the table. You can chose other denominations obviously if you want to be a big tipper. Third, enjoy yourself! It took me a few songs to get into it, just because I had never seen Wicked (I know) but they did a great job telling the story and also mixed in other well known songs in. They were also very funny and interactive with the crowd. They interacted with every table throughout the entire performance. Their outfits and makeup were incredible, truly impressive. They really made sure everyone had a fantastic time. Everyone was laughing, cheering, smiling, and dancing at their tables. Fourth, get into the theme. Dress up, coordinate outfits with your party, exaggerate your makeup, whatever makes it more fun for you makes it more fun for everyone. I can't wait for some Christmas themed shows and to go more prepared next time. read more

CB Lives is still the best place to see comedy show and live music in North Scottsdale or Phoenix. I love this place because the vibes were amazing. The 4 stars are for the live music, comedy and the waitress, but the hostess was okay not great. We've been coming here for the stand up comedy at least once every couple months, but the hostess always trying to put us in very back table and at the meantime the middle tables were available, why???? I went for a drag brunch with some friends. The space is nice as I've been before for a different event. It was big and inviting lots of space and room to get comfortable. We sat at the high tops with two people we didn't know but it was cool. It was really busy so service was kinda slow. There was a limited menu which kinda sucked there were only a few options and my food came out lukewarm at best, and took forever to come so I didn't send it back. I'm really not understanding what's up with this place. It was closed for a long time a couple years back for a revamp. Nothing at all looked different when they reopened. Now they're closed again! "For construction" I saw online they were slated to reopen in February. Now they say this summer? Very strange. The rent there can't be cheap. Before anything I mention in this review I want to note this has NOTHING TO DO WITH THE DRAG QUEENS. ALL OF THOSE WOMEN ARE FABULOUS! I am sad to report this is my 3rd time at this facility and though lack of service has never been up to par, today truly the icing on the cake for me to not return to this venue in the future. My group of 6 bought VIP tickets. Followed instructions emailing the info address listed on their page. A gentleman name Luke from standup live replied and said our seats were "good to go". I told the front desk who laughed at me stating they didn't know of any "Luke". (Disrespected before even walking in the front door). The manager came out and was able to accommodate our party for a booth, as requested. Our server, who never gave us his name or introduced himself took our drink orders and asked he first round came out a decent time. After we got our first round of drinks and finished we waited for our server for over 30 minutes to place another order 4 out of the 5 people at the table ordered all you can drink mimosas and only had one round after 30 minutes. It seems like our server avoided our table. Finally a nice gentleman named DJ was able to help us out as we signaled for someone. We explained the situation and confused why our server was ignoring us. Our table gained the impression it was a discrimination instance to where I am fully disappointed in the staff that is hired at this establishment. I understand the fast paced environment as I have worked as a bartender for several popular restaurants, but the way we wet treated by this white server seemed like he didn't want to give us the attention we deserved. Luckily my friend on the end had a word with the manager, and it seems like she was aware. No formal apology to the group. This shout out is going to DJ who handled a shitty situation and went above and beyond to make sure we got the drinks we ordered. The other half of this staff could learn a few things from this guy. If this guy ever needs a job please contact me! There are tons of other drag shows out there with the same community. Go elsewhere. Avoid being mistreated and get your moneys worth elsewhere. read more

The menu is decent for bar food, I would recommend the cheese steak sandwich w/ fries. It can be a bit pricey for what you get but you don't have to eat dinner there; there's so many options around them. The servers and hosts are friendly. We came for the dueling pianos, food, drink and a good time. Started really rough. Very busy, busier than they expected! Pizza came out uncooked and my drink was bad! They made up for it! A new pizza cooked and tasted great and a fresh drink that was also great with their apologies. Marley our server was great and she was running her tail off! *3 stars = I like it!"* The space: Pretty large venue with multiple events going on at time. My husband and I went for a comedy show and there was live music in another area that I noticed while heading to the ladies room. Garage band type of vibe. The drinks: The tickets we purchased required a 2 drink minimum per person. My husband stuck with soda and I went for two Moscow mules which oddly tasted more like sour mix than anything else. Next time I'd probably stick with beer or a simple vodka soda. The food: We were a bit hesitant to order food after seeing some of the other reviews, so we got the parmesan truffle fries and the soft pretzel bites with beer cheese. Both were enjoyable (the truffle fries were actually really good) and perfect to pick on during the show. The staff: Our server was very attentive and on top of everything despite how busy it was. Awesome job! *Suggestion: If you're purchasing tickets for a comedy show and are on the fence about general admission vs VIP, go for the VIP. It's worth it. You end up with a much more intimate table, possibly even with just your group, whereas the GA is open seating at large high tops that seat 10 or 12 and are very close together. I'm impressed that with about 20% of the restaurant sat, you still have horrible service ( server spent 80% of our time at the table chatting with other servers actively avoiding her job). She was so good at avoiding working to ensure we had a horrible experience. Could not even be bothered to bring silverware or napkins. I had to go find her whenever we needed another drink. 2. I'm impressed that with such a small menu that it's all horrible.. I had the unfortunate experience of ordering the "Chicken Sammy" with over cooked flavorless chicken, a VERY stale brioche bun, BROWN avocado, and a half pound of mayonnaise to cover it up (did not work at all, horrendous sandwich) 3. Dinner & a show! This was our first comedy show since moving here (before Covid hit) and it was a great time! It was a sold out show and GA seating so we knew to arrive early. We started with dinner and drinks. They have a 2 drink minimum and offer a full menu from the restaurant next door. I enjoyed the BBQ Bacon burger with homemade chips and a Hawaiian pizza for the hubs. He ordered an IPA and I had a margarita. Huge portions of food and very good. Love the crispy cornmeal crust on the pizza but not really a fan of the black burger bun. Just made it look unappetizing. Service was prompt and friendly. read more

I love coming up to this place from Tucson. I go when they have comedians I want to see preforming. Last night our party was right up next to the stage to see David Koechner perform with Rob Maher opening for him. The show was awesome and as they usually do, I got to meet and take pics with the stars of the show. I finally tried out their dinner options last night too. Just getting the chicken wings, but was pleasantly surprised how good they were. I've been to this location several times to see stars like Dave Attell and Jeff Ross. Even with a 2 hour drive from and back to Tucson, I've always been happy here and never disappointed. read more

Definitely one of our favorite comedy clubs in the valley, I just wish it was closer to where we live. Unlike most other places, there isn't a drink/item minimum--we always end up getting food and drinks anyways, but it's nice that we're not necessarily being forced to. The seating is pretty on par with a lot of other clubs: you're crammed in there pretty tight and sharing tables with other parties. We have run into some folks that weren't expecting this and kind of made a fuss about it, but I thought that was pretty standard across comedy clubs (plus, we're good tablemates, I swear!). The sound is great and I've never struggled to see or hear what's going on during the show. Service is pretty hit or miss, which is my only real complaint. We've had some awesome servers, and then some who were unable to answer pretty basic questions about the food or drinks. The last time we were there, they fully forgot to bring out one of our orders. But plus side, we weren't charged for it. Regardless, we like the club a lot and definitely will be back. They get some pretty big names in, which is awesome. read more

My friends I came here for Drag Bunch. Omg!!! It was funny, fabulous, and so much fun! The costumes were amazing. The performers were so talented. Espressa Grande is an awesome host and performer. Paris-Amour came out, took off her coat, and walked around collecting tips. I died! It what was hilarious because she didn't have to do much! Lol! . Onika and Sasha Cassidine came to work, Okay!!! Period! They all performed to Rihanna, Beyoncé, and Nicki Minaj. My friends and I were dancing in our seats and singing along. Towards the end, the audience was part of the performance dancing along out of their seats. Totally amazing! read more

I came here to see my good friend JaY Mohr do his comedy performance and this place was very much worth seeing him at! The sound was fantastic. The atmosphere electric. The food and drink selection and the service was awesome! The ONLY drawback was it was super crowded and I actually saw a fight happen outside between customers as I was leaving. Jay even loved performing here and said he will gladly do more shows here in the future, so tjat should tell you something right there when a big name gives 5 stars right along with me! read more

I have loved every single outing I have had at Copper Blue's. The live music is always perfect and the food is always delicious and doesnt take too long. I love to come here with just a few friends and its so fun! It can get pretty packed so I prefer to come before 8pm. They give good portions for meals. The few items I have tried are the Copper Burger, Nachos(which you should definitely share!), spinach artichoke dip, hummus plate and quesadilla. I enjoyed each meal I've tried here. read more

Got free tickets to an event last night and went here on a double date night. It was crowded in there but fun! We enjoyed the comedy show. For food my husband and I shared pretzels and cheese and I got a hummus plate. It was definitely overpriced but tasted pretty good. For my drink I got a mule and it was the most disgusting mule I have ever had. Also my husbands friend got a vodka Red Bull and said it was completely flat. So our drinks sucked, but otherwise a good experience. Servers were pretty good about being attentive but also not disrupting the show. But if you're gonna charge $13 for a mule it shouldn't be bitter and taste nothing like a mule. read more

My friend said my original review was boring and he couldn't understand why I don't love the place. It's a large restaurant/bar/lounge/venue. Depends where you sit and where the divider is placed. There is live music during the evenings and for brunch they have a DJ. The music is hit and miss. Some folks are good and some just happy to be on stage. I like that there's variety and I don't mind listening to a struggling musician. The music can be a bit loud and if you're close to the stage it can make for challenging conversation. The DJs on the weekends must have regular gigs at weddings as it's that kind of music. For happy hour you can get a deal on one of their "on tap" cocktails. The mule and smash are so sickly sweet they should come with diabetic coma warnings. The servers definitely have that breastaraunt look which is okay for a music place but it's not exactly family oriented. Service is friendly however one time my bill was so out of whack that I'm pretty sure the server was just charging me random prices for the drinks. read more

Well we actually got inside this time to check things out. The guy who gave me the gift card has long been fired and your gift card does not buy you tickets to the shows. It was only good for the pricey, mostly amateur food that was served. Annoying 1 - buy your tickets at the box office and then when you go inside, you are forced to show ID. That process is backwards. Annoying 2 - sitting at a table near the front, the manager decides to throw 2 strangers at our small table at the last minute. How about putting them in the back where they belong. The comedy show was funny and easy to hear, but the food was a joke. $15 - Margarita (average) $20 Brushetta - returned due to cook error. $12 Pretzel - very good with cheese dip $14 Club Wrap - the lowest form of Turkey available, right out of the crappy turkey section. Very bad. $17 - Thai Curry with Chicken special- way over spicy with lots of mushy rice. $14 Brownie- oily, stale tasting brownie with good ice cream. Our bad that I didn't see the address of the yelp elite comedy venue and directly went to the downtown CB Live. After checking with the staff we realized about our mistake. Rushed for the correct location but reached by 8:15 pm only. They let us in through backstage. Nice of the staff. Got to see only one comedian and show went till 9 PM only. It was nice performance and beer/food is nice too. Took 2 different drafts and chicken nachos. The way they opened the wall at the end of show which shows the karoke stage was awesome. Server was very nice too. The only reason I rate as 4 star is because show was supposed to be till 10 pm but went till 9 pm only. We missed most of it due to our mistake but had hope that still we could make up for majority of the show. Ambience is awesome here and location being in desert Ridge central is what makes it crowded all the time. read more

Tonight we showed up on a whim cuz it's Thursday and they have tribute bands... so glad we did! From the opening entertainment, Jay Allan to the tribute band Freewill -Rush experience. Not sure what to expect but honestly WOW!!! We go there frequently for the music & tonight or server Natalie was probably the best service we've ever had here. 5 star Comedy night was enjoyable. Venue was very spacious with super modernist decor. We started at ticketed area for comedy show. There were 3 comedians that performed before the headliner. My party enjoyed each comedian. My husband loved the host, which was funny because he didn't get alot of laughs. My husband was dying laughing at his jokes and horribly retelling them on the way home. I still didnt get it but it made me laugh to hear hear him laugh loudly with a silent crowd. Anyway I believe the host last name was Thomson. Oh, how could I forget it was apart of his 5 minute intro bit. I enjoyed all but the comedian right before the headliner has me dying marriage. Hehe anyway on to the food. We ordered Nachos, Wings, Burger with Fries, and Steak Tacos. Food was 4. Nachos were good, but didnt care for the flavor of the beans. My friend was the one that ordered them and she enjoyed them. Nacho platter was huge. Her boyfriend and her could not finish it. Boyfriend got wings - he enjoyed them. My husband had steak tacos. He enjoyed them. You get 3 of them, street style. I thought they were pricey to not include a side. I didn't enjoy them at all but wasn't my dish...Again there was a seasoning that I didn't like. I had the Burger very good. Burger was hearty. Only thing someone picky may be wary about is the sauce. If picky get on the side. Upcharge for fries were worth the 2 bucks over standard kettle chips. Plenty of fries for husband to steal and supplement his tacos. After comedy show, they opened up the area and there was another bar section. They were doing Karoke but it different as a live band accompanies you. It was super cool because I think they also have singer that helps out the less talented participants. We stayed for a few songs but left because its a work night and we live in Southeast Valley. All in all, great venue and staff. Decor super on point. I would come back or hang up there with my North Scottsdale buds. I usually won't venture for more than 15 miles from my house but this trek was worth it. read more
