The ambiance is beautiful. It's part open kitchen with the wood fire pizza ovens in the center of the restaurant. That's the nicest part of the experience. My husband ordered the rigatoni bolognese. The noodles didn't taste like the water was salted. The noodles were slightly overcooked. Also, that was not waygu beef. I got the chef special, crispy duck with risotto, a carrot and broccalini. Perhaps the duck was crispy when it was originally cooked, but when they reheated it prior to serving, it was not crispy. The food was ready 10 minutes after ordering so there's no way this was cooked to order. The skin was soggy. The duck lacked seasoning. Overall, I was left wanting more. We were heading to another restaurant in Coconut point when I stumbled upon this restaurant. We were excited to try when we walked in and saw the open kitchen. We were seated at a high top. Our server seemed easily distracted. We ordered a bottle of wine and when I pointed out my wine glass was dirty, he felt a need to inspect it himself and say it looked cleaned to him, even though I pointed out the black spots on the glass. He offered bread, but disappear for a while after. We ordered the calamari al forno and a cold appetizer with the hummus. I did not care for the calamari (even though I'm usually a big fan). The hummus was good. I had the swordfish with farro for dinner and my boyfriend had the special which was a seafood pasta with squid ink. We had to share our entrees as I couldn't stand the strong fishy taste of my dish. Unfortunately for me, the farro was the best part of the meal. Very smart to have outside tables spaced apart especially this time of year when the weather is lovely. We went for lunch. The service was excellent. Our food was delivered at the right time and we were not rushed. Amorfa is pet friendly and also has heaters. Bob ordered the Calamari appetizer and it was a hit. No fried food here. Just a delectable melange of spicy red sauce, tender calamari over a bit of rice topped with a salty olive mixture. YUM. We both had salads and the ingredients were very fresh and delicious. The beets were exceptional and my Caesar was chopped which I like best. We both added shrimp which we very tender and sweet. I took a look inside and it was beautiful. We order a bottle of House Red, the least expensive wine on the wine list for reds at $40.00. We received Gabbiano Cavaliere D'Oro Chianti (2021) which retails at a local wine store at $8.99. My wife ordered the Amfora Salad-wood oven-roasted beets, marinated goat cheese, walnuts, and watercress honey pomegranate molasses dressing for $15.00, which she liked very much. For dinner, We were told that the Turmeric Chicken the least expensive meal was not available I ordered the Mushroom Pappardelle-exotic mushrooms, English peas, fresh tarragon, and mushroom sauce for $26.00. Amfora has a delightful interior. The large wood fired ovens make a statement, but the vibe is very welcoming and unpretentious. The food was amazing. So fresh! My friend had the whole branzino, de-boned table side, and I had a Mediterranean salad with salmon. Both were delicious and perfectly seasoned prepared. I always appreciate when chefs don't feel the need to over do it with their dishes because they're working with high quality ingredients. Both were incredible, like adult quality dishes. Not just boxed pasta and jarred sauce. My 7yo (who gets pizza almost 100% of the time when we go out) said this is the best pizza he ever ate! We ate outside and the restaurant was busy, but the hostess was very accommodating and found us a really nice table on the outside near the beautiful outdoor fireplace. We ordered the beet salad and split it to start I had a glass of nice wine. The beet salad was fresh just enough tartness in the dressing to compliment the beets that were roasted perfectly. We then split a couple of dishes... the stuffed calamari was amazing and I am not even a fan of wood fired calamari! The hazelnut and roasted carrots side was perfection. Perfectly cooked! We stood outside until our reservation time and then went to the host stand, where we waited for another 20 minutes but nobody came over to check on us. Atthat point we just decided to leave. We were very disappointed with the service here. The bread was wonderful and that was it. We ended up leaving as the server told us we weren't allowed to order pizza. 20 minutes later after we ordered with no arrival or food we saw 2 orders of pizza going to another table. We continued to wait with no explanation of what happened and an attitude from the woman running the food to the tables. What a grand disappointment. First the good . The various dishes we ordered were delicious. They included lamb shank, filet mignon, pasta with seafood and duck. The overal experience could have been better. Upon arrival, our party of four were initially kept waiting while the host went to converse with the assistant manager to obtain permission to seat us in a corner booth, per our reservation. They then attempted to seat us at a table for three which was unacceptable. I made our feelings very clear and we were then seated appropriately as previously requested. It was not a pleasant experience. The service was just average. Dirty dishes were not removed from the table and new silverware was not offered between courses. The staff was at all times pleasant but lacking in execution. We tipped generously as we usually do, but were left with a feeling of a less than satisfactory experience. We set up a ladies lunch here about 3-4 weeks before the date and gave an estimate number of 25 people. A week before the date we advised Amfora that 29-30 signed up. They said no problem. The day before we thought we may have had 34, and the owner said he would have to bring in more help and limit our menu. We didn't mind a limited menu but he never told us that he would be raising his prices $3-6 per menu item more just for us. It was almost like a punishment for bringing him business. The final # of people was 29 and many were excited to try this new restaurant. Many will never go back again. Amphora couldn't cope. Whatever we asked for, (more bread, a refill on a drink, our checks) we got the same answer: "I can't right away I have 35 people . It's not easy" , We never got the bread or the refills, The Pollo Toscano was mediocre and not every dish was the same. Some got olives or an artichoke some people did not. The Mahi was sent back by a few and their whole attitude was un gracious. My advice to a new restaurant owner is this: If you don't want to serve more than 3 tables at lunch don't open a restaurant.!! We tried to bring you business and I feel we got ripped off. They never informed us that they would charge us more than the menu prices and then take half the items off the menu to boot! read more

Second visit. Fail! Yellow margarita pizza was not yellow, out of yellow tomatoes! That aside, pretty good dough, but goes downhill fast with bland fresh tomatoes and not much mozzarella cheese. Three dollars for club soda! Glass of wine was sparse. Bottom line, not very good pizza and rather expensive. I gave them a second chance , the first time I ate here, the lamb shank was cool on the inside. Poor value given the shortcomings.
