    Veal Tower

Just ended up at Amici after many years having had good meals there. We were planning on eating at the Inn at Middletown but there was a forty minute wait. We had called ahead yesterday for reservations but they said not needed for a party of three! Actually the meal was probably better here. I had a special of the evening: Veal Tower. It was very delicious and the only veal on the menu. It came as a stack of veal, mushrooms, red peppers atop great mashed potatoes and excellent gorgonzola cheese. I finished the whole thing so no leftovers for tomorrow! Very good and attentive service in a crowded dining room.

1st time here and kicking myself for not coming before! The space is beautifully decorated. Authentic Italian decor. Makes you feel like you are in the heart of Tuscany! Service was phenomenal. Our waiter was very attentive and on point. Food was outstanding! Felt like I had a taste of Italy with the ravioli, lasagna and stiffed shell dish. 2 thumbs up! Definitely will be back!

Food was AMAZING and so was service! Amanda was amazing and very attentive. Loved the atmosphere and how beautiful the place was! The owner, Sam was very nice and welcoming as well. Definitely a must go in Middletown! I'll be here again. Best bolognese I've had in so long. Definitely looking forward to trying the steak!

I haven't been to Amici since pre-covid, and at that time it was just so-so. I am glad we gave it another try. We stopped by for Sunday dinner and were greeted by a friendly host and waitstaff. Amici has stepped up their game and are offering an expansive menu now. The bread was very fresh, as was the dinner salad. They have a huge wine and cocktail menu with full bar capabilities too. For dinner, I had Chicken Milanese, a classic standard Italian dish. The chicken was breaded well and the sauce was on point. I enjoyed it, and I'd order it again. I also sampled the Tortellini in alfredo with broccoli, which was an excellent vegetarian option. The dessert was tasty too. I had the creme brulee and she had the tiramisu. Amici is a long-time Middletown Italian joint that is holding its own, and this experience made me want to go back. Service was friendly, professional, and gracious for your business.

I've been here countless times and its amazing every time. I strongly suggest if you go here to ask to sit in Peter's section, he is an older Italian gentleman and he is so funny and sweet. Last time I went here we got the bruschetta and boneless wings as apps. The bruschetta came with 3 pieces and it was delicious with melty mozzarella on top. I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about wings at an Italian place but honestly they were amazing and a huge portion, honestly it could've been a meal. As entrees, I got the broccoli cheese tortellini in alfredo sauce and I added chicken to it. It was good but could have been a bit more flavorful, the chicken didn't seem entirely seasoned. My date got the chicken parm, it was really good and also a huge portion. There were definitely leftovers for both entrees. They have a very good drink menu but I always get a peach cosmo, its not on the menu but they make a great one. In the past I've also had the chicken marsala which was perfectly made and the calamari is always really nice and crisp. The location is downtown Middletown so there is paid street parking but its free after 6pm.

This is my spot when I come back to CT! One of my favorite Italian restaurants and they never disappoint. We came here for dinner on 5/17/22 and had a nice dinner. Our server was very pleasant and our food came promptly. Once again I had the delicious baked stuffed shells.

A very nice meal. Food was good, service was excellent! We sat in a nice round booth.

At the start of the meal, we asked for sparkling water, and the waitress specifically told the busboy not to bring still water as well. Personally, I think it can actually be nice to have both on the table, but it was not a major issue. For an appetizer, we ordered the octopus, which unfortunately was the low point of the meal. It was extremely chewy, almost difficult to chew, and probably should have been sent back. The scallops for the main course were much better and redeemed the experience considerably. They were cooked properly with a pleasant texture and served over a decent risotto base with a flavorful sauce drizzled on top of the scallops that complemented the dish nicely. For dessert, I had gelato, two scoops of chocolate and one vanilla, and both flavors were excellent. Very rich and one of the better parts of the meal. Service overall was solid. One person in my party did not like being referred to as "dear" by the waitress, though I personally did not mind it. She was nice and seemed to really know the menu well. Overall, this was probably closer to a three-star experience based on this visit because of the disappointing appetizer. However, I know the restaurant has been better in the past, so I am giving it four stars and would still consider returning.

We tried the humus with homemade sesame crackers .. the hummus was okay a little bland for me and the house made crackers were not my favourite personally . - the lemon shrimp was good to ( but only 3 shrimp ) We also tried the tomato basil flatbread which is a regular pizza size ( perfect for sharing ) - the crust was thin and flavours were good ! Overall we had a great time drinking our $6 sangrias ( during happy hour ) and had a great time trying the small bites and pizza . Service was good and plenty of seating cozy environment. Will def be back for happy hour and to try some more options on the menus

We are not often in Middletown, but we will definitely be back. This is a great place to stop, and I 10000% recommend it. Of course, I had the gluten-free veggie pizza, and I added pineapple because I am a pineapple-on-pizza person. Sue me, I am an islander. My partner had the shrimp pizza, not gluten-free, and ordered a medium. The size was honestly obscene for a medium. He kept asking to drive back down there every day after because he wanted it again. Definitely returning.

They do offer a free lot in the back, but judging by all the cars, Mondo is very popular on a Friday evening. Sure enough, there was a big line of people picking up orders, but we walked right in and were seated immediately. We started off with a beet salad, which was surprisingly delicious, combining candied walnuts and sweet orange and green apple slices with salty feta and tangy balsamic over a mountain of mixed greens. We then moved on to paninis, generous portions of meat and toppings on freshly baked, crispy bread. One of us chose more mixed greens tossed with dressing while the other chose crunchy French fries. We also ordered a third panini to go, the Mondo combo. We asked for fries; the kitchen accidentally gave us a salad. Our server, Heather N., saved the day by noticing the error and giving us both side orders. Mondo is family friendly, and there were plenty of children during our visit. As such, the volume was a tad loud and boisterous, but nothing obnoxious that would prevent us from returning.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at this winery. I had been a longtime customer and…read morehad recommended and introduced many people to this place over the years, which makes this experience even more upsetting. I contacted Rosanna in July to plan my baby sprinkle for September 5th and paid my deposit at that time. In August, I reached out to her with questions and sent her exactly what I wanted for the setup, including pictures, the tables, decorations, and an estimate of the number of guests. I also spent a significant amount of time and money purchasing flowers, tablecloths, and decorations based on the setup I had discussed with her. Unfortunately, Rosanna initially couldn't even remember that I had already paid the deposit or that I had rented a tent. After realizing the mistake, she told me that she would provide what I needed based on the picture I had sent her. I heard absolutely nothing from her afterward until the day before my baby shower. Since my event was scheduled for 11 AM-2 PM the next day, I went to the winery around 5:30 PM the evening before simply to make sure everything was in order and that there would be no surprises. When I arrived, I discovered that the tent setup did not have the rectangular tables I had specifically planned for and that I needed for my decorations. The employee working there was unaware of what I had been told and was trying to figure out the situation. She contacted Rosanna, who immediately said "no" to the rectangular tables. I called Rosanna myself, expecting her to help resolve the misunderstanding. Instead, the conversation was extremely unpleasant. She never apologized for the misunderstanding and told me that it was not her job to follow up with me after I paid my deposit. There was another tent available that would have worked perfectly for the setup I had planned, but she refused to give me that tent as well. At one point, she told me that I was "very emotional" and said that if I wasn't happy, she would refund my money. Keep in mind, this conversation was happening at approximately 5:30 PM the evening before my event, when my baby shower was scheduled for 11 AM the following morning. Canceling at that point was obviously not a realistic option after months of planning and after spending so much money on decorations. The entire conversation felt incredibly disrespectful and dismissive. There was also a man repeatedly talking in the background during the conversation, who I believe was the owner or someone in management. At the end of the call, Rosanna told me she had to go to a family dinner and couldn't stay on the phone with me, so I ended the conversation. What makes this even more disappointing is that I was not a new customer. I had supported this winery for years and had personally recommended it to many people. I never expected to be treated this way. Mistakes and misunderstandings can happen. What matters is how a business handles them. Unfortunately, in my experience, the management did not take responsibility, did not offer a reasonable solution, and spoke to me in a way that I found extremely disrespectful. Horrible management and an incredibly disappointing customer service experience. I sincerely wish I could have canceled my baby shower and taken my business elsewhere.
