    Garlic roll with meat sauce
    Frank M.

Fellow reviews on Yelp led me to Amici's. The location and entrance are a bit unexpected but inside is all business. Great casual atmosphere and friendly staff. You can actually smell the fresh bread baking. This is our second time here. We started with regular slices while we waited for the chicken parm hero. We loved the slices so much that I immediately ordered a Sicilian pie to go. Their sauce is really good on the pizza as well as the pasta. For me it's all about the sauce and the bread. And they execute them both perfectly. Chicken parm hero was also great for exactly same reason in addition to real chicken cutlets. You can see the full cutlet not like some other places that just chop up chicken tenders. Amici's does it the right way. My wife loved the rice ball. The garlic roll with side of meat sauce is dangerous because you won't want to stop but it will fill you before the meal. Eager to try more...

Italian food is much more than pasta on a plate. Or pizza on a platter. The recipes are typically time-tested over generations of family. Variety IS the spice of life and IS an integral part of Italian cuisine. With that said, part of the intrigue of eating Italian is exploring the wide variety it presents. Northern Italian versus Southern Italian. Deep dish versus thin crust. You get my drift. Fab One and I were on the going-home side of a wonderful Sunday drive. We started thinking about dinner. Go home and cook, OR??? That's the moment us Foodies love. Finding an excuse to getting online and doing some visual food sampling. Digitally, we travel into Mexico, the Mediterranean, Italy and more. We ultimately set our baggage at the door of one place we desire to explore further. To step through the door is to begin a journey of tempting tastes. We hope... That's when we settled on Amici. The reviews were good. They painted a virtual picture of what we were looking for. WE were in the mood for Italian food. I must admit we've driven Highway 54, or Wesley Chapel Blvd as it's called, for many years. And I can never remember having noticed Amici. Maybe I spotted the building, but it never registered there's a potential Italian hideaway hidden there. No matter. As soon as we walked in, we were happily greeted by several of the crew. Taking a seat, Nick came over and introduced himself. Nick is a really likeable young man. His manner exudes kindness and caring. He started his employ at Amici's doing the dishes. A hard, hot job. But he's in the right place now, making customers feel welcome and giving them a great reason to return. I wish him well in his endeavors. We already knew we wanted to get a pizza, so our menu moments were brief. We ordered The Works Pizza - Large 16 inch. A side salad filled the void in our tummies and the void in time until Nick placed OUR pizza on the bent-wire pizza platform. The first food impression was solidly excellent. Fab One and I both leaned in, and over that pie. Don't you love leaning in like that? Breathing in, to catch the bubbling aromas rising up in those little plumes of steam? This pizza was an Italian Masterpiece. LOTS of ingredients covering the crusty acreage. My favorite was the mushrooms. They were not overcooked shriveled up and burnt fungi. They were still moist, succulent and packed with taste. WE were absolutely raving about this flat food phenomenon! We raved to Nick. And to the couple next to us. And we asked Nick to send word back to the kitchen as well. Kudos! A thoroughly enjoyable meal, with superb service. AND, on the way home, seeing that little brown pizza box on the backseat brought happy thoughts to mind. LEFTOVERS! We all know leftover pizza is KING! Tell them Beth and John suggested this place. Amici means friends.

Best Italian in Wesley Chapel. Staff is super friendly and Restaurant is spacious and has a family joint feel. Service is fairly quick and the food comes out piping hot. The pizza is delicious and the dough is on point. Perfect between crispy and chewy. You have a set list of premade pizzas or you can choose your own toppings. They come in three sizes and a large can feed a family of four. Tried the pasta of the day (seafood in white sauce) and was positively surprised. Pasta was not overdone, it was very hot and generous in seafood. Garlic knots are a must!

Pretty good pizza while in that area. They sell by the slice too! Service was good and friendly. Parking behind off of 54. Cute little pizza shop.

Nice customer service friendly prices the hostess was good and also the pizza was great. The cheese sticks were great and the bread knots were good. The only thing that wasn't as great as it thought it would be is the iced tea taste like water I wouldn't order that.

Back in October, I made a reservation for 20 people for a January dinner to celebrate my dad's birthday. I had heard the week before that Max sold the restaurant, but at that point it was too late to find another place that could accommodate such a large group. Our reservation was at 4:00 pm. When I walked in at 4:03 with my son, there was a man standing by the pizza oven on his cell phone. I initially thought he was a customer waiting for food since there was no acknowledgment at all. After a few minutes, a couple of cooks walked out, looked at us, and said nothing. The man continued texting and then, very coldly, asked, "How can I help you?" I told him I was there for the party of 20, and he responded, "They're in the back," with no warmth or professionalism. As someone who worked in the restaurant industry for over a decade, I was honestly shocked by the greeting. Once seated, I informed our server that both my brother and I have celiac disease and that eating gluten-free is a serious medical necessity. Normally, servers acknowledge this and reassure guests that they'll speak with the kitchen. Instead, she said nothing and walked away while I was still speaking. The appetizers were fine, but the main courses were extremely disappointing. I ordered the gluten-free veal marsala, a dish I've had countless times at Nabruzzi over the years. This was easily one of the worst versions I've ever had...completely bland, with large chunks of garlic instead of properly minced, and so unappetizing I couldn't finish it. My husband ordered the pollo florentine and described it as something our four-year-old could have made. The presentation was equally poor; the food looked like it had simply been thrown onto the plates. The server never once checked on us after the food was delivered, which should happen within the first few bites. I also brought a birthday cake for my dad, and it was served before all the dinner plates were cleared. As we were leaving, the owner simply said, "Have a good one." It's clear that the new owner has little to no experience in the restaurant or service industry, which is incredibly disappointing. Nabruzzi was once a warm, friendly Italian restaurant and a hidden gem in Lutz...a place our family truly loved and visited often because it felt welcoming and close to home. Sadly, after this experience, we will not be returning.

The food quality and flavor is excellent. I love the bread with olive oil served before the meal. I ordered veal and it was also excellent and the pasta is delicious too. We ordered the Romano pizza as an appetizer and it was ok. Unfortunately our food took a loooooong time to come out. The pizza probably took 30 minutes. We asked for the salads to come out at the same time but again had to wait. My salad had no dressing on it so I had to ask for it which they did send out. The meals again took quite awhile to come out. I will say our server was friendly, but the kitchen just took forever with everything. I will definitely come back because the food is so good. Hopefully this was just an off night.

Hunter was our server and did a very good job taking care of our table throughout the evening. The restaurant was quite busy, so there was a little bit of a delay between receiving our appetizers and placing our entrée order, but after that everything flowed smoothly. We started with the Alto Adige Pizza -- prosciutto and cheese done in a very authentic Italian style. Absolutely delicious, although at $23 it felt a bit pricey for a pizza. We also ordered the Arancini, which were authentic, flavorful, and perfect for sharing with the table. Two of us ordered Caesar salads with extra anchovies. The anchovies were the pickled style and paired perfectly with the salad. For entrées, two of us ordered the Crostata, which I would describe as somewhat like an Italian shepherd's pie -- pasta, sausage, cheese, and sauce baked together into a pie-style dish. It already comes fairly spicy, and since I asked for extra spicy, it definitely had nearly too much heat! I probably should have tried it as originally prepared first, I think it would have been perfect. That said, it was rich, hearty, and excellent. Portion size was over the top. I took half of it home for lunch or dinner the next day. My wife ordered the Eggplant Rollatini and absolutely loved it. For dessert, we shared the Cannoli Dip Dessert, which was outstanding and ideal for the table. Crispy shells with cinnamon served with sweet cannoli cream for dipping -- simple and delicious. I liked it better than an authentic cannoli. All in all, it was a terrific first visit with authentic flavors, great atmosphere, and very enjoyable food. Looking forward to returning.

We were seated promptly. It's very small and cozy inside. The chef comes out and greets you, he also helped us pick a wine which was very good and exactly what we were looking for. We started with the salumi e robiola ($45) which was the charcuterie. It was good, but nothing that blew me away and incredibly expensive. I understand that most everything is imported from Italy, but we definitely had sticker shock. We also started with cozze blu alla veneto (mussels - $27). These were very good and flavorful. We ordered two pastas to share and we got the caprese salad and a tomato and gouda soup as a starter. The caprese salad was literally five mozzarella pearls with some balsamic. The tomato and gouda soup was probably some of the best soup I've ever had. Rich, hearty, creamy. I can't say enough good things. The two pastas we got were the funghi misti trifolati ($49) and the salsiccia e peperoncino arrosto ($53). For some reason, and I feel like this has to be a fluke, the funghi pasta had almost no flavor. Not even earthiness from the mushrooms. I don't really know what happened there because even if I have issues with portion size or price, everything had great flavor, something was just off with this one. The salsiccia pasta was very very spicy. We added ricotta which was a good balance and it was cooked to perfection. For dessert we got basically a deconstructed cannoli. It was just okay. it was also their only dessert option. Our server was attentive and checked on us often. Overall, the night had hits and misses. I think the prices don't really match what you get.

No hostess when we walked in--just a basket with menus and a clear expectation to fend for ourselves. Ordering involved walking up to a lone register, selecting everything upfront (soups, salads, mains, drinks, dessert), and tipping before any interaction or service. That felt a bit premature, especially since there wasn't an option to simply request another drink mid-meal without repeating the process entirely. Water was self-serve, with empty cups handed to us on a tray, along with a table number stand to place wherever we chose to sit. We opted for the patio--less noisy and free from the Chuck E. Cheese-like energy happening inside. The bread and dip? Absolutely phenomenal. Three petite slices served with a rich olive oil herb dip that was easily the highlight. We regretted skipping appetizers (mostly fried), though the Caprese salad sounded promising in hindsight. For mains, we tried the Friday special--shrimp scampi. The shrimp arrived separate from the noodles, which was fine once we combined them. The portion felt underwhelming given the oversized plate. Our server made two brief appearances--to deliver the bread and then the entrée. Drinks were okay. I ordered an adult lemonade that tasted great but came in a tiny glass. I considered a second, but the idea of trekking back inside, reordering, and pre-tipping again wasn't appealing--especially with a wait of 15+ minutes for that first drink. Dessert was tempting--gelato looked amazing. If we return, it might just be for a to-go treat. Overall, the food wasn't bad, and friends have had great experiences with their catering. But the dine-in experience felt fragmented and impersonal. I'm curious to try their Lutz location--though takeout sounds more appealing than navigating this format again.
