I've been wanting to eat at Commandough's since moving to the area a few years back. Today I had the opportunity to take my wife to lunch and decided to finally give them a try. Incredibly bad experience. My wife ordered the two slices and a drink special and I (at the server's recommendation) ordered the cheesesteak with a side of loaded fries. The slices came out lukewarm (at best) and twenty minutes later, when my sandwich had not shown up and my wife's slices had gone stone cold, I cancelled my meal, paid and left. We were beat and wanted something low key to eat that was near by our hotel. I did a search on Yelp and it was only a 2 minute drive. We literally could walk there, but we opted not to since it was chilly outside. The place was packed outside and the crowd was to a minimum inside. The launcher has a garlic butter base topped with bacon, fried redskin potatoes, cheddar jack cheese, and mozzarella drizzled with a sour cream swirl. It was my first time ever having potatoes on a pizza and it was damn phenomenal. There is a check-in offer of 10% off on the Yelp app and I presented it to our waitress. She showed the manager and it was said they knew nothing about the offer or how it got affiliated with Yelp. They said they would still honor it to be taken off the bill. The pizza tastes amazing and my girlfriend loves their wings but I will never dine in here again. I did once, months ago, and was accompanied by multiple dead flies on the inside of the window seal. Looked around at another booth and noticed it wasn't any better. Since then, we've been going the delivery route. Delivery is sometimes over an hour but the staff is always nice and communication is great. Honestly the best pizza in Zephyrhills. This is a great spot in Zephyrhills to get some decent pizza and have a few beers and relax. It has a nice casual atmosphere. This is my first time now here and just surprised that while we are waiting for our food for about 15mins - we are asked to move to another table because the band that JUST arrived has to set up! Also, the dough was perfectly inadequate to support their 'supreme' toppings. The flavor of the crust, at the edge, was decent. There was hardly any cheese which also made it impossible to reach the end crust so it would lock in the toppings. Incidentally, we ordered extra cheese. This was a white pizza with pineapple, bacon and ham. As you can see the pineapple is lacking, the bacon is overcooked and I would think should be chopped up so it covers more surface area. The ham was non existent and there is literally no sauce. They are luck I had a drink and was hungry af or Id have called and told them to have Lee come back to pick it up. Lee was super kind, very nice to talk to. The chefs need to step it up. I have lived here three years and ordered from them four times and each time I am highly unimpressed. Marcos is better. Oh and it came with the knots. They were supposed to be garlic butter. There seemed to be no garlic and they were chewy. I passed them off to my son whom was also hungry and luckily in a don't give a F mood just get in my belly. I give them a rating of 3 stars because Lee is super kind. I give the food a 2*. This was our first time coming to Commandough's. When arrived we had a choice of outdoor seating (weather was nice) or indoor at a booth or high top. We choose the indoor booth as we had our kids with us. We were greeted and drink orders were taken. The drinks came back in decent time. Hubby ordered the Pretzel bites ($5.00) and spicy beer cheese ($1.00). Those came back in okay time since the place was not crazy busy. The pretzel bites looked yummy but noticed a very deep layer of what we thought was butter. After tasting the pretzel bites we figured out it seemed to be popcorn movie butter. It tasted good but very greasy. The beer cheese was okay. We ordered a cheese pizza for $6.99 and the best of 2019 bacon ranch chicken pizza for $12.99. The pizzas arrived at our table in good time. The crust of both pizzas was crunchy and tasted good. The bacon ranch chicken pizza was covered in ranch so much that it had puddles. It would have been a good pizza if the ranch was lightly fizzled on top not to over power the tasty of the bacon, cheese, and chicken. The cheese pizza was good. Overall, it was an okay visit.
