we had dinner there a week ago and were seated on the patio in a corner. they did have tall heaters around but there was snow along the wall at our feet. they were not able to move us. the food was very good but the conditions were uncomfortable and some in our party were very cold. we thought they could have at least comped our desserts. read more

After a Saturday matinee at a nearby theater, we decided on Amici for dinner. With no reservation - big mistake! One tiny two-top was the only available table, which was fine with us. We both started off with the Bourbon and Blood cocktail. I would describe it as kind of an elevated Manhattan. Delicious! I had looked up their menu online and thought I knew what I was going to order, but then I saw the specials menu. There was no way I could resist the Straw and Hay. Made with spinach and white linguine ("straw" and "hay", get it?), peas, mushrooms, with bits of spinach and tomatoes, and 6 plump, perfectly cooked shrimp. All tossed together in a light, creamy blush sauce. Wow, wow, wow. So good. And half came home with me. My friend ordered the lobster ravioli from the specials menu and was impressed with the size of the lobster chunks inside those tasty little pasta pillows. She inhaled every bit. For "dessert', companion opted for a glass of Cabernet. That sounded like a good idea to me as well. It was indeed the perfect topper for a perfect meal. It's been far too long that I have not had a meal here. I came for dinner before going to the movies a short walk from here. I had another delicious meal here. I started off with a glass of chilled french rose that was very good. I ordered the soup of the day a butternut chicken florentine concoction of chicken soup and butternut squash soup with spinach it was ok. Smooth and filling not overly spiced. I had a second wine to go with my entree a sauvignon blanc from Now Zealand that was also very chilled smooth crisp white with wine that complemented my main entree. Grouper lightly breaded angel hair pasta and root vegetables and green beans in a lemon caper wine sauce was excellent smooth velvety lemony sauce around a firm white fish that was sublime. Best grouper dish I have had since I left Florida. The wine paired nicely with this dish. Service was very good just the right amount of assistance. I wasn't going to get dessert but I remember they're good so I had a delicious chewy chocolate hazelnut gelato with a double espresso to cap a great meal. read more

Most amazing deep fried ravioli I've ever had! They put something spicy in them which I've never had before. (Don't get it you don't like spice) I ordered their meatball bomber- which was not good. Barely any sauce, stale bread, mediocre meatballs. My boyfriend had the pork sandwich dish-just okay. Wouldn't get again he said. Also not super impressed that they raised their prices by $2 an item, literally overnight at the Italian fest. Most things were $8 on Friday- then went up to $10 an item after they saw people would pay it. Kinda shitty of them to do that. In conclusion- I'd go back for the fried ravioli- or get them to go for a party as an appetizer, but their greed and crummy meatballs and sauce don't have me running back anytime soon. read more

Always crowded, terrible parking situation, you have reservations for a time but it always takes 45 minutes to get a table , forcing you to stand at the tiny bar area with an expensive drink. This is a ever recurring thing when going to this restaurant. Next time i will do a different Italian restaurant, not like food here is way better than other restaurants, yeah good, but not worth the hassles at this place, for me anyway. Absolutely delicious meal from start to finish! Started out with the calamari which was excellent, seasoned and fried perfectly. I chose the special Lobster Ravioli which was outstanding, I was actually sad when I finished and wanted more! The sauce was delicious and full of flavor. The host and our server were very friendly For appetizer we ordered calamari and it didn't have apt of breading on it just the right amount which made it taste great I ordered chicken Marsala , the portion was generous and the price was fair. This wasn't my first time here and it's better than I remembered. We were celebrating our 20th anniversary and thIs was an excellent choice for our dinner. My husband is gluten and dairy free and there were so many items to choose from that fit his dietary restrictions. Everything was delicious - I also had a glass of Pinot Noir and we finished with a flourless chocolate cake. We enjoyed ourselves so much we plan to have New Years and our birthday dinners here! We had a beautiful funeral brunch to celebrate my mother's life there today. They did a wonderful job. The food was served buffet style and everything was warm and delicious. The chicken was moist the roast beef was amazing. The wait staff was kind and attentive. The atmosphere was very comfortable for a group of 50. I live out of town and have not been to Amicis before. Props to fellow Yelp Elite, Sireesha for recommending this place! The place is wonderful with delightful food and a nice atmosphere for a lovely non-rushed dinner with reasonable prices. I started my meal with a double espresso at the bar. It was nice that they had an espresso machine and the espresso shot was smooth. For the meal, we started with the bruschetta which was a huge assortment of 5-7 different spreads and roasted garlic along with toasted and baked bread. There were lots of flavors and options which made it a nice start to the meal. For the main entree, I had the stuffed eggplant which was served with a side salad. The stuffed eggplant was very well made, the sweet sauce could have used a little more of a kick (I added some spice to it when reheating), but otherwise provided for a nice meal. For dessert, we shared the Cannoli - the pastry was delicious! Highly recommend capping the meal off with a Cannoli. I highly recommend this place - it's really an institution which has been around for 25+ years and glad to see them continuing to do well. read more

The waitress was friendly, we had several other staff come by cleaning up plates and delivering food! What great teamwork!!! I started with the French onion soup and have to say it was some of the best I've had! Great flavors and piping hot!! I ordered the Arrabbiata with chicken which was excellent. Thanks to Alex, for keeping me company in checking out this place on a weekday evening. We went for a good 3-course meal and the appetizer, 'roasted garlic bruschetta', definitely stole the show for me. It came with 5 different spreads, each with a unique flavor, ranging from Olive tapenade to flavored cream cheese. They also provided tomatoes to be added to the bruschetta. I was expecting a pre-made bruschetta sampler so this was a pleasant surprise where I could mix them up and try them out. The main course came with a salad which was a huge portion unto itself so by the time my eggplant parmesan arrived, I was already pretty full. The salad has various options for dressing but I went with 'Parmesan peppercorn' which was delicious. The eggplant parmesan was pretty decent, although a little sweeter than I thought probably due to the tomatoes. Since I really wanted to try their Cannoli that I had heard so much about, I ate part of my eggplant parm and saved the rest to eat the next day. Also I'm used to more flavor in my food, so I spiced it up at home before finishing it off. The final course of dessert was a plate of Cannolis that I shared. They were yummy but as I prefer mildly sweet desserts, they were a little too sweet for me. The wait staff never rushed us although we were there for about 2 hours. They waited until we were done with each course before they brought out the next one. A lovely warm evening to sit out on the patio. The view is the line at Dairy Queen across the street and many cars driving by. Ambience would improve with the large blinds being closed. Normally we have great food and service, this was not the case Saturday night. Called for a pickup order with over an hour and half before i would be there; Food wasn't ready and didn't realized I didn't get my French onion soups untill I was home. Couldn't get through on the phone so had to drive back and and wait to got our Soups.. when looking at the veal parmaiga one looked fine other looks burned neglected.. not there best night for a roughly $150 order not including tip I left I expected better. I hadn't been to Amici in awhile and I had forgotten just how good it was! We started with the clams casino, which was hot and very flavorful. They also bring out fresh bread with butter and oil. Their wine list was nice, too. I had the Tortellini Con Panna which was cheese tortellini in a cream sauce with peas, prosciutto and mushrooms. It was delicious and came in a huge serving. I took most of it home and will have two meals out of the leftovers. My dinner date got the meat ravioli and had plenty of leftovers, as well. Our server, Melissa, was very nice and checked on us regularly throughout the night. She even brought us our dessert (a yummy creme brûlée) with a candle in it and "Happy Birthday!" written in jelly. The prices are very reasonable for authentic Italian cuisine and quality ingredients. About $22 for most dishes, and, like I said, the portions are large. I would highly recommend to anyone! It could be a great date night place or it works just as well for a family dinner or drinks & apps with friends. 5 stars! read more

Drinks are fast and delicious and fresh bread on the table is a very welcome touch. Last night we had the peppers and pasta with meatballs. Their meatballs are about the best I've had. Moist and succulent and their sauce is perfectly balanced. We had desserts last night too, crème brûlée and chocolate torte--both were outstanding! Lastly I must comment on the service. From the person that showed us to our table, to the person that brought the water and bread just nice, welcoming and hospitable. Then our waitress, Kristen. Total treat! Friendly, funny and super attentive we could not have enjoyed her service more. She truly embodies everything you could ask for in a server. We wished we could have invited her to join us she was so sweet. Overall, one of our favorite places to go. Love it! read more

Come here for the meatballs wonderful Italian authentic food in a nice atmosphere cozy and homey services is always excellent. It is not a chain so you know that you are eating local and supporting local business. Tonight, I just needed to get some take-out because I'm doing some extra work from home and didn't have time to dine in. So I arrived a little after opening and figured I'd place my order at the bar and wait for it. Jason, the bartender/bar manager, took my order, and so I also ordered a glass of Montepulciano while I waited. Knowing it might take a few minutes for the kitchen to make my order, Jason offered me bread and olive oil to go with my wine while I waited. I realize this sounds like a very easy, inexpensive thing for him to do, but this kind of old world thoughtfulness is Exactly what the world needs today.
