Complementary Bread. Oil has some spices in it but not enough and they didn't let the spices soak into the oil to flavor it. Mostly tastes like plain olive oil. Roasted Garlic Bruschetta 8/10. Bread is almost always over toasted and as hard as a rock. Garlic was seasoned well before being roasted. The first time I tried this, I tried all of the tapenades and cheeses. This time I only ate 2 of them. The cream cheese based dip is my absolute favorite- I could eat it with a spoon. The olive tapenade is good if you like kalamata olives- I don't that much. Normal bruschetta is seasoned a bit with oil and herbs which is always really good. I don't remember how the others taste at the moment but I'm sure I'll be going back again for more! Tortellini con Panna 8/10. I got the cheese ones. Cooked perfectly. The cream sauce was a tad bland yet somehow had a lot of pepper in it that you couldn't really taste. More cheese probably could have made this cream sauce a little more flavorful. The prosciutto added a good bacon-y flavor in some bites too. I think the peas were a little firm, but I can't be certain because I mostly avoided them. Leftovers heat up okay.. The sauce kinda separates a little bit though Shrimp & Andouille (one of their daily specials) 9/10. Kyles rating/description. Amazing place with amazing service and food. I I went here on date with my girlfriend months ago and we loved it. I am leaving this review now because I placed a to go order for a Vodka Pasts which is my girlfriends favorite. She is a vegetarian, and I didn't know it had meat in it. They were kind enough to cook another one for me at no charge! I couldn't be more grateful as we have had a tough go at life lately, this act of kindness really means more to me than they can know. After a Saturday matinee at a nearby theater, we decided on Amici for dinner. With no reservation - big mistake! One tiny two-top was the only available table, which was fine with us. We both started off with the Bourbon and Blood cocktail. I would describe it as kind of an elevated Manhattan. Delicious! I had looked up their menu online and thought I knew what I was going to order, but then I saw the specials menu. There was no way I could resist the Straw and Hay. Made with spinach and white linguine ("straw" and "hay", get it?), peas, mushrooms, with bits of spinach and tomatoes, and 6 plump, perfectly cooked shrimp. All tossed together in a light, creamy blush sauce. Wow, wow, wow. So good. And half came home with me. My friend ordered the lobster ravioli from the specials menu and was impressed with the size of the lobster chunks inside those tasty little pasta pillows. She inhaled every bit. For "dessert', companion opted for a glass of Cabernet. That sounded like a good idea to me as well. It was indeed the perfect topper for a perfect meal. It's been far too long that I have not had a meal here. I came for dinner before going to the movies a short walk from here. I had another delicious meal here. I started off with a glass of chilled french rose that was very good. I ordered the soup of the day a butternut chicken florentine concoction of chicken soup and butternut squash soup with spinach it was ok. Smooth and filling not overly spiced. I had a second wine to go with my entree a sauvignon blanc from Now Zealand that was also very chilled smooth crisp white with wine that complemented my main entree. Grouper lightly breaded angel hair pasta and root vegetables and green beans in a lemon caper wine sauce was excellent smooth velvety lemony sauce around a firm white fish that was sublime. Best grouper dish I have had since I left Florida. The wine paired nicely with this dish. Service was very good just the right amount of assistance. Also not super impressed that they raised their prices by $2 an item, literally overnight at the Italian fest. This wasn't my first time here and it's better than I remembered. We were celebrating our 20th anniversary and thIs was an excellent choice for our dinner. My husband is gluten and dairy free and there were so many items to choose from that fit his dietary restrictions. Always crowded, terrible parking situation, you have reservations for a time but it always takes 45 minutes to get a table , forcing you to stand at the tiny bar area with an expensive drink. This is a ever recurring thing when going to this restaurant. I started my meal with a double espresso at the bar. It was nice that they had an espresso machine and the espresso shot was smooth. For the meal, we started with the bruschetta which was a huge assortment of 5-7 different spreads and roasted garlic along with toasted and baked bread. There were lots of flavors and options which made it a nice start to the meal. For the main entree, I had the stuffed eggplant which was served with a side salad. The stuffed eggplant was very well made, the sweet sauce could have used a little more of a kick (I added some spice to it when reheating), but otherwise provided for a nice meal. For dessert, we shared the Cannoli - the pastry was delicious! Highly recommend capping the meal off with a Cannoli. We had a beautiful funeral brunch to celebrate my mother's life there today. They did a wonderful job. The food was served buffet style and everything was warm and delicious. The chicken was moist the roast beef was amazing. The wait staff was kind and attentive. The atmosphere was very comfortable for a group of 50. I live out of town and have not been to Amicis before. Thanks to Alex, for keeping me company in checking out this place on a weekday evening. We went for a good 3-course meal and the appetizer, 'roasted garlic bruschetta', definitely stole the show for me. It came with 5 different spreads, each with a unique flavor, ranging from Olive tapenade to flavored cream cheese. They also provided tomatoes to be added to the bruschetta. I was expecting a pre-made bruschetta sampler so this was a pleasant surprise where I could mix them up and try them out. The main course came with a salad which was a huge portion unto itself so by the time my eggplant parmesan arrived, I was already pretty full. The salad has various options for dressing but I went with 'Parmesan peppercorn' which was delicious. The eggplant parmesan was pretty decent, although a little sweeter than I thought probably due to the tomatoes. Since I really wanted to try their Cannoli that I had heard so much about, I ate part of my eggplant parm and saved the rest to eat the next day. Also I'm used to more flavor in my food, so I spiced it up at home before finishing it off. The final course of dessert was a plate of Cannolis that I shared. They were yummy but as I prefer mildly sweet desserts, they were a little too sweet for me. The wait staff never rushed us although we were there for about 2 hours. They waited until we were done with each course before they brought out the next one. I hadn't been to Amici in awhile and I had forgotten just how good it was! We started with the clams casino, which was hot and very flavorful. They also bring out fresh bread with butter and oil. Their wine list was nice, too. I had the Tortellini Con Panna which was cheese tortellini in a cream sauce with peas, prosciutto and mushrooms. It was delicious and came in a huge serving. I took most of it home and will have two meals out of the leftovers. My dinner date got the meat ravioli and had plenty of leftovers, as well. Our server, Melissa, was very nice and checked on us regularly throughout the night. She even brought us our dessert (a yummy creme brûlée) with a candle in it and "Happy Birthday!" written in jelly. The prices are very reasonable for authentic Italian cuisine and quality ingredients. About $22 for most dishes, and, like I said, the portions are large. I would highly recommend to anyone! We have been to Amici's about a half dozen times and it never disappoints. Very pleasant inside, not loud not overdone just warm, inviting and comfortable. Drinks are fast and delicious and fresh bread on the table is a very welcome touch. Last night we had the peppers and pasta with meatballs. Their meatballs are about the best I've had. Moist and succulent and their sauce is perfectly balanced. We had desserts last night too, crème brûlée and chocolate torte--both were outstanding! Lastly I must comment on the service. From the person that showed us to our table, to the person that brought the water and bread just nice, welcoming and hospitable. Then our waitress, Kristen. Total treat! Friendly, funny and super attentive we could not have enjoyed her service more. She truly embodies everything you could ask for in a server. Called for a pickup order with over an hour and half before i would be there; Food wasn't ready and didn't realized I didn't get my French onion soups untill I was home. Couldn't get through on the phone so had to drive back and and wait to got our Soups.. when looking at the veal parmaiga one looked fine other looks burned neglected.. not there best night for a roughly $150 order not including tip I left I expected better.
