I had seen a few posts on one of the Irondequoit Facebook pages praising Amico's Pizza. I had never tried them, though I have driven by them a few times since moving to Irondequoit in July. I was having a party a few weeks ago, and wanted to order a sheet pizza and some wings. So I thought it would be a good opportunity to try Amico's. I called in the order, and the delivery arrived in what seemed like less than 30 minutes. The pizza and wings were piping hot, and smelled amazing! Everyone at the party raved about the pizza. The crust was the perfect thickness, with just the right amount of not-too-sweet tomato sauce, cheese and pepperoni. The outside crust was crisp and flavorful. The wings were cooked perfectly as well, crisp, and sauced just right. Halloween night, I placed an order for myself, a small #1 pizza with Anchovies, and a small order of Garlic Parmesan wings. Once again, I was thoroughly impressed with the Pizza. Super quick delivery. Crisp, flavorful crust, just the right amount of sauce and Pecorino Romano cheese, and great anchovies. The wings were full of garlic flavor, and crisp. Overall, I highly recommend them! Especially the #1 pizza. It's like a basic, old-fashioned style pie, and is delicious without all the extras! My friend ordered a sheet pizza from Amico's for her birthday. It was 1/2 just cheese, 1/2 pepperoni and Italian sausage. Normally, I'm not a huge fan of sheet pizzas because I don't care for the super thick crust... this sheet pizza on the other hand, was thin like a normal pizza which I liked it a lot. The toppings weren't heavily applied, which might be a negative for some people but again, I hate when there are too many toppings and they slide off your slice as you try to eat it. Likewise, the sauce was pretty light... almost nonexistent. It wasn't terrible but caused the pizza to be a little bland. Regardless, I had 3 pieces so it was still really good. read more

Fairly annoyed, friend in hospital, ordered pizza wings and a drink for him, gave the person taking the order the address and Patients room number on a Friday afternoon. Monday found out they did not deliver, when I called I was told "we do not deliver to Strong it's way out of our delivery area"! May have been a great idea to tell me that when I gave you the food order and the delivery address....... And then Monday was fully charged for the order " I was out a pizza and some wings"! i ordered a sheet pizza tonight. without a question it was the worst pizza I've ever had in my life. There was practically no sauce, no cheese except sprinkled on Parmesan. The crust was crunchy and overcooked. i mean it honestly seemed like a pizza that had sat around for days and then reheated. I complained through the app I order through and received 1/2 back. If my family wasn't starving already I would have taken it back to the store and demanded my money back. After a hard day at work we decided to order pizza so I didn't have to cook, what a mistake! I have been coming to "Amico's Pizza" every few weeks since they opened their E. Ridge Rd, location in 1981! Always enjoyed their pizza. Unfortunately, two of their questionable hires--delivery drivers, no less--have likely guaranteed that I will never be a customer again. Last night, as I was arriving to pick up an order, TWO delivery driver vehicles BLOCKED THE ONLY STREET ENTRANCE, leaving me stuck in the right lane with traffic behind me. I laid on my horn to get someone to come out and move their car, but they just ignored me. Finally, after about 3 minutes (!), I swung my front end out and parked on the lawn behind both vehicles, got out, and walked across the grass into the shop. "Thanks for making me almost cause an accident out there," I told the guy behind the counter and his two knucklehead confederates. I got ZERO attention! I paid my bill and left, only to have one punk harass me on the way out. Not wanting an assault charge on my record, I just kept walking. Needless to say, I will NOT be buying anymore pizza at "Amico's." Nice way to lose a 43-year customer! read more

Amicos is my favorite local pizza place. Prices are solid, pizza is good. Nice crust, sauce cheese ratios and onions are finely chopped. They also have cup n char pepperoni and their wings are pretty good. Large Pizza and 20 wings for $30 is a solid price now a days too. Wings are good if not worlds best and they are pretty quick. They have a weird set up to get in and out of and a lot of stairs for a take out place. The location is actually the worst part of the place really. read more

But recently I have gone gluten free and decided to try their cauliflower crust pizza . Our entire family have been ordering from Amico's for years. Every single pizza (and there have been hundreds) has been absolutely delicious. The ingredients are top notch, they are generous with any toppings we request, the balance of flavor is fantastic, and every single pie taste as good as the first one we fell in love with. They are happy to cut your pizza in slices or squares, per your preference or, and I am happy to see that the same people who were preparing my pizza five years ago are still making it now, and it is as delicious as ever. This is Rochester pizza at it's finest! I've lived away from the area for close to 10 years. Everywhere I've gone I have looked high and low for anything comparable. Spoiler alert: nothing comes close to real deal Upstate NY pizza!! I've been visiting Rochester for the summer and we had several lackluster pizzas. All my former favorites have seemed to have gone downhill or closed altogether. Then I remembered the amazing pizza my Dad used to get when I was growing up. Lo and behold...it's still in business and every bit as delicious as I remembered. Every part of it was perfection! Thin crust that is crispy, chewy, and airy. Light base of flavorful sauce, the best cheese, and big chunks of sausage. Oh my....how can I possibly go back to what California considers "NY pizza"?? So I lived in the city Clinton Norton area for 20 years always got my pizzas from Amico's. Move to the Eastside 1995. Unfortunately I have been back to see Dave until today. Order two pizzas one veggie for my wife and one pepperoni for myself absolutely the best pizza that I've ever eaten and that's coming up against an East side legend in TK's. That's even forgetting about the price I had two mediums with three toppings each and they were $32 total plus tax. We enjoyed Amico's for dinner last night. I am surprised we've never ordered from here before given the proximity. We went with a standard pepperoni pizza and I really enjoyed it. The sauce was a little sweet (I tend to like it more savory) BUT it was not too saucy. I like a pizza that is more crust and toppings and easy on the sauce so I was happy! The crust was of a good thickness and consistency. Maybe it's a little bland... But it makes for great blue cheese dipping. What was the best part? The cheesy, cheesiness!!! Even better on a day two oven heat up... Crisping the edges of the cheese on those inside pieces. I'm really all about the verse and Amico's definitely pleased!! I typically don't eat wings, but I tried them out. They had a sweet and sour sauce. It was good, but comparable to most places. Again, I'm not a wing fan so take that with a grain of salt. read more

I'm new to the area and was craving pizza, a co-worker suggested this place so I thought I would give it a try. The flavor of the sauce is good but the pizza is very flat and greasy. The wings were ok. The medium sauce tasted a little on the sweeter side. All in all I wouldn't order from here again. It just isn't the style of pizza I like. read more

I wish I had gotten a chance to try out Amico's pizza, but within the first half minute of our phone conversation the employee got incredibly rude. I couldn't hear him over the din in the background so when I asked if he was asking for my address he very sarcastically responded "well uh YEAH I'm gonna need it if I'm going to deliver it to you!". I understand slinging dough is hard work, but you've gotta at least not be outright rude in a customer service job. This was my first time ordering from Amico's and it was very unsatisfactory. First off, the pizza is so tiny!! A small pizza is smaller than the size of a regular dinner plate!! I could not believe my eyes when I opened the box. It was so tough and hard to chew. It did not seem fresh at all, some of it was burned and it was just so very disappointing....especially for the price! The mozzarella sticks were cold upon arrival and they looked, and tasted, like they came frozen out of a box from a cheap grocery store. Needless to say, we were beyond disappointed with the food and will not be placing any future orders with Amico's. Ordered delivery from Amico's after seeing positive reviews. The pizza came in around 40 minutes. We had a pepperoni pizza and an order of hot barbecue wings. They were tasty and well cooked. The pizza was also good and I enjoyed the consistency of the crust. The sauce was also different than any other pizza sauce I've had. My only complaints are that it is a bit more expensive than other pizza places and I wish the food was warmer when it arrived. read more

My mom and I moved to Irondequoit in the late 70's, and Amico's (At Waring road) has long been a favorite. I remember the first time we went, it had the atmosphere of a bakery. On walking in, the scent was heady and almost overpoweringly good. While I was sad to see the Warning road branch close, the East Ridge road branch is still serving up an amazing pizza. I can easily say that Amico's is my favorite pizza in Rochester. Since we moved out of Irondequoit, the nationals and other local shops are more convienant, but they can't match the crust, or the flavor.
